From YouTube: Women's History Month - Red Shoe Event - March 14, 2022
Description
At the Ada County Courthouse
B
A
You're,
probably
going
some
of
you
why
the
red
shoe
right,
quarterback
shoes,
but
before
I
introduce
julie,
ellsworth
the
original
red
shoe.
Ladies.
According
to
the
daycare
building
to
tell.

D
D
Hope
to
be,
I
owe
to
my
angel.
These
are
words
that
many
of
us
take
apart.
The
women
in
our
lives,
starting
with
our
mothers,
have
left
behind
indelible
marks
that
make
us
who
we
are
today.
I
am
a
proud
husband
and
father
of
strong,
intelligent
and
inspiring
women.
I
pay
tribute
to
these
women
and
those
of
you
being
recognized
today
for
stepping
outside
your
comfort
zone
and
sharing
your
unique
gifts
and
talents
with
the
community
and
now,
let's
turn
this
over
to
mr
davis.
F
Thank
you.
I'd
like
to
read
the
proclamation
passed
by
the
media
county
commissioners,
the
board
of
county
commissioners
ada
county
state
of
idaho
proclamation
on
women's
history
month
march
2022,
whereas
the
leadership,
achievements,
courage
and
strength
of
all
idaho
women
make
ada
county
a
stronger
and
more
vibrant
community,
and
whereas
many
of
the
great
leaders
in
county
government
are
able
to
share
their
gifts
and
talents
due
to.
F
B
A
B
A
A
I
like
walking
microphones-
and
I
just
have
to
make
one
comment
about
abraham
lincoln's
angel
mother
statement.
My
children
tease
me
about
that
all
the
time
there's
my
angel
mother,
taking
us
to
the
dump.
You
know,
but
they
kind
of
use
that
disparagingly
with
me,
but
I
think
I'll
outstand,
abraham
lincoln's
mother.
Ladies.
A
I
walked
into
the
treasures
office,
I
said:
what's
the
oldest
picture
you
have,
I
do
like
to
walk
with
mike's
and
they
pulled
out
1905
and
I
looked
at
this
and
I
thought
there's
a
problem
with
this
picture.
There's
no
women
in
it
and
so.
A
Was
me
as
the
treasurer
my
chief
of
staff
was
laurie
stepler
state
standing
there
at
the
podium
and
then
my
my
brain
in
the
whole
office
is
tanacori
sitting
in
the
back,
and
we
decided
that
that
we
were
going
to
do
this
because
2020
was
going
to
be
here
the
women
little
did.
I
know
what
power
this
would
have.
First
of
all
to
recreate
a
picture
that
I
wore
red
shoes
and
the
photographer
said
you
have
to
leave
those
red
because
I
wore
them
red
because
you
know
kind
of
dorothy,
it's
kind
of
power.
B
B
A
A
On
their
website,
they
can
check
with
me
regularly.
I
have
children
coming
in
people
that
come
in
to
the
office.
Obviously
you
notice
the
red
shoe,
but
it
really
is
women
can
do
things
well,
I
donated
the
picture
to
the
historical
society,
along
with
the
scarf
that
I
before
and
the
red
shoes,
and
you
know
they're
calvin,
kleins
and
they're
brand
new
I'd,
wear
them
just
once,
and
I
remember
putting
them
in
the
picture.
A
A
A
A
And
now,
without
further
ado,
we're
going
to
start
out
with
our
own
county
county
treasurer
beth
vaughn,
making
special
recognition
for
jackson
denver.
They
could
not
be
here
with
us
today.
A
A
B
A
D
B
A
A
For
family
reasons
it
took
a
while
I
was
deeply
honored
to
be
chosen
as
the
first
district
judge
in
the
history
of
idaho
by
governor
john
evans.
I
was
flagged
mostly
to
be
a
pioneer,
but
even
happier
when
years
later,
the
rest
of
the
wagons
showed
up.
It
took
a
while
for
more
women
to
serve
at
all
levels.
A
A
A
A
A
E
Thank
you.
It's
my
pleasure
to
introduce
judge
valo
today,
judge
vaylor.
B
E
Of
10
women
in
her
first
year
class
of
140
law,
students
after
graduating
and
working
my
midterm
after
graduating
and
working
at
a
legal
aid
clinic
in
michigan.
She
moved
to
boise
in
1975
and
was
admitted
to
the
bar,
at
which
point
in
time
that
made
her
one
of
12
female
lawyers.
Then
practicing
idaho.
B
E
B
E
A
Thank
you
all
very
much.
Needless
to
say,
the
state
of
idaho
has
changed
a
little
bit
since
I
came
here
and
it's
nice
to
see
other
women
being
recognized
and
certainly
nice
to
see
other
women
on
the
bench.
A
A
You
to
jammin
at
state
accounting
prosecutor,
unfortunately
asking
a
lawyer
to
make
brief
remarks,
is
a
bit
of
a
risky
business.
We
tend
to
be
long-winded
in
the
future,
but
I
will
try
to
abide
by
a
certain
schedule
and
stick
to
the
reason
we're
assembling
we're.
A
Its
infancy
before
stage
they
were
able
to
envision
a
family
ranch
in
castro,
county,
idaho,
and
they
had
the
strength
of
will
and
determination
to
make
that
vision.
Members
of
jan's
family
still
live
on.
That
range.
Jan
was
drawn
away
from
chalice
to
attend
college
at
the
university
of
idaho,
for
which
I
forget.
A
A
A
A
A
Possible
for
all
of
us,
I
feel,
like
any
other
woman
in
our
office,
could
be
standing
here
today
and
have
been
in
a
trello
a
trail
laser
like
shawn
and
done
others
in
our
office.
I
am
truly
truly
honored
and
privileged
to
serve
my
community
as
an
aydah
county
prosecuting
attorney.
It
is
the
honor
of
a
lifetime,
and
I
can't
imagine
anything
I
would
rather
be
doing.
I
love
what
I
do
and
I
love
the
people
that
I
work
with.
A
Proud
to
represent
them,
they
all
can
be
standing
here.
Just
like
me.
I
want
to
speak
for
just
a
moment
about
a
trailblazer
in
my
life,
who
is
my
mom
shauna
talks
about
the
pioneer
spirit
in
my
family
and
my
dad's
family
did
trailblaze
and
pioneering,
but
my
mom
was
also
a
trailblazer
in
her
own
right.
She
came
from
new
york
city
to
chalice,
idaho,
as
a
young
woman.
A
B
A
B
A
A
Oh
great,
and
then
we
have
our
lieutenant.
A
A
Classroom
not
within
may
and
not
writing
about
my
fourth
grade
the
next
semester.
I
had
another
class
with
dottie,
and
I
realized
that
the
woman
that
I
had
seen
whining
about
her
a
was
going
to
school,
full-time
interning
at
the
twin
falls
coroner's
office
and
raising
four
children
on
her
own
and
the
aid
matter.
Everything
mattered
to
dottie
dodd,
took
over
a
position
and
made
it
her
own.
She
has
pushed
for
training
and
education
for
her
team,
and
now
her
team
helps
lead.
Others
in
the
state
and
don
is
accredited
by
nave
and
iicme.
A
A
For
dodd
will
tell
you
that
the
job
is
hard,
it's
draining
and
the
hours
are
brutal,
but
working
for
someone
who
has
done
the
job
makes
an
absolute
difference.
They
appreciate
the
sacrifices
she
has
made
in
the
office.
She
has
built
dawson
exceptional
porter.
She
runs
her
agency
and
stays
competitive
on
a
national
level.
The
academy.
A
A
C
I
am
so
honored
to
be
noted
as
ada
county's
first
female
tournament,
but
the
truth
is,
I
wouldn't
be
here
without
the
strong
woman
that
pushed
me
to
leave.
My
grandmother
came
to
the
united
states
with
three
children
and
a
tough-as-nails
disposition.
That's
where,
ladies
I
get
my
armory
is
in
case.
You
were
winner.
She
taught
us.
B
C
Importance
of
family
and
I've
never
lost
sight
of
that
she
passed
away
right
after
my
oldest
was
born,
but
left
such
a
mark
that
I
can
see
her
every
day.
My
children,
my
mother,
has
been
a
huge
inspiration
to
me
as
well.
Finding
herself
single
in
her
30s
she
went
to
school,
received
her
nursing
degree
and
excelled
with
it.
C
C
C
I
have
been
blessed
to
be
surrounded
by
amazing
women
in
my
career,
those
who
pushed
and
inspired
and
surrounded
me
throughout
the
years
my
daughter
heather
jesse,
my
best
friend
and
the
team
of
women.
I
have
had
the
honor
to
work
alongside
with
not
a
day
goes
by
without
you
all
inspiring
me.
You
keep
me
moving
forward
and
support
my
vision.
B
C
A
To
the
ada
county
commissioners,
for
your
efforts
to
recognize
rock
and
women
in
their
in
our
red
shoes
and
giving
special
acknowledgement
to
the
women
who
have
served,
especially
in
ada
county
and
so
my
words
of
encouragement
to
all
women
across
the
state.
Is
that
if
you
have
a
heart
for
your
community
and
if
you
believe
in
yourself
and
you're.
A
A
Well
good
afternoon,
it
is
an
honor
to
be
standing
here
in
front
of
all
of
you.
I
am
sheri
ibarra
and
I
am
your
superintendent
of
k-12
education
in
idaho
and,
as
I
was
standing
here,
listening
to
all
the
resumes
of
all
these
powerful
women
and
feeling
the
energy
in
this
room,
I
got
to
thinking
about
my
first
student
advisory
council
for
the
state
of
idaho.
A
It
is
13
students
from
all
over
the
state
in
grades
4
through
12.,
and
I
had
the
opportunity-
and
I
know
we
were
talking
about
education-
how
important
that
is.
I
had
the
opportunity
to
take
them
over
to
the
legislative
session
before
our
legislators
came
to
town
and
having
mocked
session
with
them.
Had
a
young
lady
who
was
hispanic
english
as
a
second
language,
get
to
serve
as
a
chairwoman
for
the
senate
in
her
position
when
it
was
over,
she
said
to
me:
superintendent,
laura,
someday,
I'd
like
to
serve
in
the
legislature.
A
Long
as
you
put
your
mind
to
it,
but
I
would
love
them
to
have
the
opportunity
to
see
all
of
you
here
today
because
you
are
so
inspiring
not
only
to
me
but
to
those
students
and,
like
she
said,
madam
superintendent,
to
you
and
all
of
your
fellow
women
leaders.
We
are
watching
you.
Thank
you
for
everything
you
do
so.
B
A
Well,
that
concludes
our
event
today,
but
certainly
it
shouldn't
leave
the
reason
for
a
red
shoe
to
stay
in
our
closet.
We
need
to.
