A
G
Yes,
thank
you,
madam
president,
this
evening,
we'd
like
to
call
up
Mr
Debbie,
Bowers
principal
of
West
Creek,
Elementary,
School
and
Mr
Howard
Carrera,
who
will
take
us
into
our
presentation
for
West,
Creek,
Elementary,
School
and
we're
excited
to
see
children
and
family
with
us
this
evening
from
West,
Creek
and
I
know
they're
excited
so
at
this
time,
misspellers
take
it
away.
H
All
right,
first
of
all,
I'd
like
to
have
Miss
Hansen's
Class
come
on
up,
so
Ms
Hansen
did
a
math
project
in
her
class,
and
so
she
has
four
students
here
who
will
be
presenting
what
they
did
and
learning
about
number
sense
in
their
second
grade
class.
I
H
Okay
and
what
it
was,
the
children
had
to
pick
their
own
number
and
then
complete
different
things
about
it
like
they
had
to
show
in
the
base
10
blocks.
They
had
to
show
it
different
ways:
expanded
form,
create
their
own
problem,
math
problem
about
it,
and
then
they
created
these
posters.
J
My
next
student
is
Isabella
she's
presenting
the
number
421
and
my
apologies
I
forgot
to
introduce
myself
Miss
Hansen
second
grade
West
Creek
Elementary,
and
we
have
been
spending
this
past
semester.
Building
that
Foundation
going
deep
with
number
sense
place
values,
and
so
this
is
just
a
fun
creative
way
for
students
to
show
what
they
have
learned
and
to
have
fun
with
numbers.
Thank
you.
I
My
name
is
Isabelle
and
I'm,
showing
you
ways
to
make
421.
So
my
first
way
is
and
10
blocks.
I
have
four
flats,
two
two
two
Longs
and
one
one:
an
expanded
form,
I
have
400,
plus
20,
plus
one
and
word
form,
I
have
421
and
then
in
numbers
shown
in
different
ways.
It's
four
hundreds,
two
tens
and
one
ones:
three
hundreds,
twelve
tens
and
one
ones:
22
10
and
one
ones.
I
I
I
I
Three
Flats
two
tens
in
one
and
one
Cube.
The
next
way
is
gonna,
be
numbers
shown
in
different
ways:
300
300s,
two
tens
one
one
and
next
and
then
212
tens
and
one
one.
The
next
10
is
122
10
in
one
one.
Next
one
is
zero:
zero,
hundreds
Thirty,
thirty,
two
tens
and
one
one
next
way.
Next
is
sentence
or
word
problem:
Alondra
has
221.
Notebooks
faith
has
100
notebooks.
How
many
are
there?
No,
it's!
It's
it
equals
321
I
know
because.
H
And
when
I
went
into
Miss,
Hansen's
class
and
I
looked
at
all
these
different
posters,
all
these
children
did
so
many
different
ideas
and
different
ways
about
going
about
it,
and
it
was
a
project
that
they
did
at
home
and
the
parents
helped
with
it
as
well.
So
it
was
a
great
way
to
enjoy
involve
the
families
as
well
as
the
children
in
some
in
number
sense.
We
also
wanted
to
talk
a
little
bit
about
what
we
do
for
our
after
school
program.
So
if
I
could
have
Miss
C,
Miss,
Adriana
Cardona.
H
Because
we
also,
together
with
the
after
school
program,
we
held
the
family
paint
night
in
December.
So
we
have
a
couple
of
students
to
come
up
and
talk
about
that
experience
that
they
did
and
the
artwork
that
they
created
and,
like
I,
said
Mrs,
Cardona
and
I.
We
work
together
to
plan
this.
We
bought
supplies
for
a
hundred
parents
and
we
ran
out
so
it
was
great
and
so
we're
planning
another
one
in
March,
hopefully,
and
we're
going
to
buy
a
lot
more
supplies
to
make
sure
everybody
has
enough
to
do
the
artwork.
E
They're
going
to
explain
what
they
Drew,
what
the
instructor
that
they
had
at
school
today,.
K
E
So
actually
it
was
pretty
great
because
parents
were
able
to
come
in
and
draw
with
their
student,
so
they
did
this
together,
three
of
them
and
it's
awesome
because
parent
involvement
is
so
important,
especially
in
the
art
form.
We
don't
see
it
as
much
anymore,
but
it's
great
to
have
it
and
we're
excited
to
have
more
parents
come
out
and
enjoy
that
time
with
their
student
and
it
gets
them
out
their
imagination
going.
So
it's
pretty
cool,
so
we're
excited
about
this.
E
K
M
B
I
will
go
first
if
it's
okay,
first
thing,
I
do
have
a
question
from
our
num
number
sense
kid
did
you
make
make
up,
though
those
word
prob
problems,
all
by
your
your
yourself,
because
yeah
you
did.
Those
were
pretty
pretty
impressive,
because
I
I
know
stewed
students
struggle
with
word
prop
problems,
so
for
you
to
make
one
up.
That
was
not
just
a
quick.
You
know.
B
What's
this,
you
guys
did
great
and
that's
real,
really
imprepressive
and
for
the
the
artists,
I
really
love
the
the
art
and
the
care
you
you
put
put
into
to
it.
I
can
at
the
most
do
stick
people
if
I'm
luck,
lucky
so
I'm
a
little
jealous,
but
I
I,
really
love
that
Dad
got
got
to
to
paint
paint
with
you,
but
I
liked
your
yours
bed,
better!
It's
okay,.
F
Okay
and
I'll
go
next,
and
what
grade
is
this?
The
number
sense?
What
grade
second
grade
wow
I'm,
really
impressed
with
that.
You
know
the
students
struggle
with
math
and
numbers
and
reading
word
problems,
and
for
you
to
create
your
own
and
explain
it
is
amazing,
so
keep
up
the
good
work
that
that
was
absolutely
amazing,
so
keep
that
painting.
F
Art
is
absolutely
a
major
part
of
the
academic
career
and
so
to
have
you
know.
Our
students,
you
know
engaged
in
that
and
the
parents
engaged
in
that
is
is
great
work,
so
keep
up
the
good
work.
Thank
you
so
much
and
thank
you.
Parents
and
teachers
and
whoever
participated
and
and
Miss
Bowers.
Where
did
she
go?
Oh
there,
she
is
awesome,
awesome
job
keep
up.
The
good
word.
Thank
thank
you.
C
I'm
sorry
I
was
going
to
say
that
West
Creek-
it's
always
a
pleasure
to
have
you
in
here
I-
do
want
to
take
a
moment
and
recognize
Miss
Hansen.
Thank
you
so
much.
You
know,
I,
remember
those
horrible
times
tables
and
class.
That's
about
the
only
way
we
knew
how
to
learn.
Math
so
I
appreciate
your
creativity,
beautiful
and
keep
up
the
amazing
work
after
school
program.
I
do
have
to
say
I
love
after
school
program.
I
do
encourage
all
parents
to
check
it
out
as
I
love
it.
My
child
loves
it.
A
Okay,
I
want
to
say
to
all
of
the
students
that
I
was
so
impressed
because
it's
not
easy
to
get
up
here
and
to
talk
in
front
of
everyone.
Today
is
my
first
night
as
a
board
president,
and
it
probably
shows
I'm
used
to
laughing
and
joking
now,
I'm
like
and
then
to
be
able
to
to
have
to
talk
in
front
of
a
big
group
of
people
and
come
over
there.
A
You
know
next
to
the
mic
and
I'm
very
impressed
all
of
the
smiles
the
laughing
I
was
like
I
want
to
do
the
same
thing,
but
I'm
scared.
You
know
so
I'm
very
I'm,
proud
of
you
guys
coming
the
after
school
program,
Mrs
C,
wonderful,
I,
love
the
after
school
program
that
we
have
I
truly.
Do
thank
you
to
the
teacher.
Thank
you,
of
course,
Miss
boss.
Thank
you
for
all
of
this
that
you
do
I'm
excited
I
love
to
see
the
children
come.
Thank
you
to
the
parents.
A
I
have
attended
a
parent
in
child
painting
and
it's
like
the
parents
love
the
children,
love
it
because
I
think
at
Morgan.
We
ran
out
of
paint
that
night
too.
One
of
the
teachers
were
kind
enough
to
give
me
hers,
so
I
could
do
it
because
I
came
in
late,
but
it's
so
fun
because
today
we
still
hang
it
right,
and
we
laugh
at
the
fact
that
five
years
later,
I'm
like
look
at
what
we
paint
it,
but
I
love
to
paint
campaign,
I
love
to
a
sink
and
I
can't
sing
either.
A
G
G
D
G
M
B
I
do
want,
want
you
to
say
that
I've
learned
so
much
this
last
term,
I
didn't
know
what
I
was
get
getting
in
into,
but
trust
that
I
I
love
our
town.
I
love
our
kids.
They
are
Cape
capable
of
great
things.
Every
single
one
and
I
truly
in
my
heart,
believe
that
and
I
and
and
I
believe
that
our
this
District
can
help
right
rise
them
up
and
get
get
them
on
their
path
and
I
always
tell
my
my
own
kids,
because
I
also
teach
when
they
grow
I.
Go!
That's
you!
G
And
and
board
members,
if
you
could
stay
standing
for
a
moment,
I
just
want
to
say
that
this
completes
the
election
of
November
2022
I'd
like
to
introduce
our
board
this
evening.
We
just
swore
in
trustee
bets,
so
we're
thankful
to
have
her
back
with
us
on
our
board.
Again,
we
have
trustee
Christine
Turner
here
on
the
end
over
here,
I
hope,
I'm,
not
in
the
way
of
the
camera.
G
We
have
our
clerk
trustee
Webster
here
in
the
middle,
and
then
we
have
our
board
president
trustee
love
French
with
us
this
evening,
and
then
we
also
have
trustee
hollyakis,
who
is
not
able
to
be
with
us
at
the
moment,
but
I
know
she
sends
her
regards
and
wishes.
G
She
was
here
with
all
of
you
and
appreciates
all
the
support
and
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
to
all
the
board
for
all
the
hard
work
that
they
do
and
we
now
are
ready
to
continue
the
business
of
the
district
and
and
again,
thank
you
so
much
trustee
bence
for
all
of
your
work
as
well,
and
then
over
there
I
just
want
to
also
introduce
cabinet.
G
We
have
Dr
Tasha
dwyzan
over
there
on
the
end
assistant,
superintendent
of
academic
services
and
Mr
Carlos
Moran,
our
assistant
superintendent
of
human
resources,
and
so
I
want
to
appreciate
all
the
hard
work
that
they
give.
If
we
give
them
Round
of
Applause
as
well,
they
are
integral
to
the
operations
of
this
district,
and
so
with
that,
we
will
have
some
photos
up
here.
If
you
want
to
come
out
here,
board
members
we'll.
G
Oh,
yes,
sorry,
my
name
is
Michael
Cross
I'm,
the
interim
superintendent
of
the
district,
very
proud
to
be
here
and
I.
Appreciate
all
of
you
coming
out
to
support
great
presentations
by
the
students.
It's
always
great,
to
see
them,
but
was
even
wonderful
to
see
as
the
smiles
on
the
parents
faces
to
see
the
parents,
the
teachers,
the
staff
smiling.
G
We
love
Smiles
by
the
way
and
we
love
all
of
you
come
to
our
board
meetings
and
so
we're
very
thankful
for
all
of
you
and
as
trustee
Ben
said,
we
are
here
to
support
you
and
do
everything
we
can
for
our
students
and
our
families.
And
so
thank
you
for
coming
out.
Those
of
you
that
are
on
Zoom
I
want
to
say
thank
you
to
all
of
you
joining
us.
We
have
about
60
or
70
people
on
Zoom
this
evening
as
well.
So
by
the
way,
this
is
on
YouTube
no
pressure.
G
So
all
of
our
board
meetings
are
there
for
Infinity.
So
you
can
look
back
and
and
say:
hey
I
presented
at
aboard
me.
It's
pretty
cool
right
years
from
now
so
feel
free
to
share
that
with
all
of
your
family
and
friends.
So
again,
thank
you
so
much
and
like
to
have
the
board
come
out
here
to
take
some
photos
with
trustee
bents
and
then
we'll
have
a
short
reception
about
10
minutes
and
after
we
take
some
photos
up
here,
we'll
have
a
short
reception.
G
We
have
cake
in
the
back,
and
so
after
we
get
some
photos,
we'll
have
some
cake.

Q
Although
the
conference
is
designed
with
para
Educators
in
mind,
it
is
open
to
all
of
our
classified
staff.
This
is
due
to
the
fact
that
the
conference
covers
a
variety
of
topics
that
cross
over
into
other
classifications,
that
interact
with
our
students,
classifications
that
interact
with
our
students
on
a
daily
basis.
Q
Q
Csta
does
have
rooms,
blocked
for
this
conference
at
four
of
the
local
hotels,
starting
from
129
dollars
to
a
hundred
fifty
dollar
nine
dollars
per
night.
The
schedule
would
call
for
us
to
need
hotel
accommodations
for
two
nights

My
Hope
Is,
that
the
board
will
approve
this
conference
request
when
it
is
presented
in
the
next
few
weeks.
Q
G
Next
Madam
president
we'd
like
to
Mr
Sinatra,
if
you
can
see
if
Miss
Kansas
Devlin
is
in
the
zoom
meeting,
we'd
like
to
welcome
Miss
Devlin
to
our
board
meeting
this
evening,
I
am
asking
them
to
unmute.
Now.
Thank.
L
R
Hello,
thank
you
for
taking
your
time
to
listen
to
what
I
have
to
say.
As
a
parent
in
our
school
district,
we've
been
having
issues
with
transportation,
specifically
from
the
George
west
side
park
in
Adelanto
bus
stops.
These
students
are,
as
we
all
know,
students
are
being
picked
up
around
7
00
to
7
30..
R
The
most
recent
issue
arised
yesterday,
when
a
parent
called
the
do
to
ask
if
there
was
going
to
be
Transportation
because
the
bus
was
running
late,
the
parent
was
told
there
would
not
be
transportation
for
the
morning
and
that
notice
had
already
been
sent
out.
I
am
enrolled
in
the
parent
square
and
that
notice
was
not
sent
out
until
7
30.
that
bus
stop
has
a
pickup
time,
which
is
the
George
bus,
stop
at
7
20..
R
It
is
also
the
last
bus
stop
for
pickup
in
on
that
route,
and
it
mentioned
nothing
about
having
no
transportation
for
the
afternoon.
So
many
parents
transported
their
children
to
Melva
yesterday
with
the
intent
that
there
would
be
Transportation
home.
R
My
child,
like
many,
have
parents
who
do
work
and
my
child
had
my
husband
not
been
home,
would
have
been
stranded
at
the
school
for
an
additional
hour
to
hour
and
a
half
after
school,
let
out
because
we
were
not
notified
until
after
11
o'clock
in
the
morning
that
there
was
no
transportation
for
afternoon.
Busing.
I
am
very
well
aware
that
in
California
the
Edco
does
not
State
Transportation
is
required
by
the
district.
It
is
at
the
parents,
discretion.
R
We
are
to
provide
transportation
if
need
be,
but
it
imposes
a
risk
of
our
children
not
attending
class,
because
we
cannot
get
them
there
or
get
them
home
for
that
matter
safely
or
that
they're
stranded,
because
they
were
told
there
would
be
Transportation
provided
home,
but
there
isn't.
This
is
not
the
first
instance
where
there's
been
Transportation
issues.
Another
big
issue,
arised
prior
to
us,
going
on
winter
break,
my
child
and
all
of
the
children
at
the
George
location
was
picked
up
by
a
different
bus.
R
By
mistake
they
loaded
onto
the
bus
once
on
the
bus.
They
noticed
that
there
were
very
young
children
on
the
bus.
I
could
hear
from
my
son
my
son's
phone
call
that
the
children
are
asking
the
bus
driver.
Where
are
you
taking
us?
What
school?
Hey?
That's
our
bus.
We
need
to
get
off.
We
got
on
the
wrong
bus.
The
bus
driver
is
ignoring
them.
I.
R
My
child
off
at
this
is
an
ongoing
issue
and
it
is
a
concern
for
safety
for
our
students
and
reliability,
because
a
lot
of
these
kids
also
care
for
siblings,
like
they're,
coming
home
and
picking
up
siblings,
from
George
or
from
west
side
park
or
from
Adelanto.
So
parents
are
expecting
these
students
to
get
dropped
off
on
time.
They're
also
not
getting
picked
up
from
school
on
time
to
go
home.
S
S
Thank
you
very
much
good
evening.
First
and
foremost,
congratulations
trustee,
Pence
and
tonight.
I
am
introducing
myself
as
the
new
senior
field
representative
to
assembly
member
Juan
Carrillo
as
a
former
School
Board
member
himself,
they're
just
in
public
education
is
a
priority
for
assembly
member
Juan
Carrillo
and
we're
looking
forward
to
working
to
ensure
that
our
schools
have
the
resources
that
we
need
to
make
sure
that
our
kids
thrive.
S
As
a
field
representative
for
the
assembly
member,
our
office
is
one
that
you're
going
to
want
to
reach
out
to
when
you
need,
when
you
have
state
agency
needs.
If
you
have
legislative
ideas
and
if
you'd
like
us
to
join
in
honoring
our
amazing
students,
teachers
and
staff,
so
on
the
behalf
of
assembly
member
Juan
Caprio
we're
looking
forward
to
serving
the
community
with
you.
Thank
you
so
much.
D
G
G
President
good
evening,
members
of
the
board,
members
of
the
community
that
are
here
with
us
this
evening
in
zoom
and
in
person
so
I
just
wanted
to
First,
say
Happy
New
Year
to
everybody,
we're
already
into
2023
it's
hard
to
believe
how
fast
the
years
go
by,
but
we're
excited
to
continue
the
education
of
all
of
our
students
and
want
to
say
thank
you
to
all
of
our
management
certificated
and
classified
staff
that
work
tirelessly
every
single
day
to
help
make
that
a
reality.
G
I
do
have
some
exciting
news:
Mr
Austin
Duran
in
Our
IT
department,
who
was
here
earlier
this
evening.
He
went
to
the
site
conference,
it's
a
technology
conference
along
with
several
other
members
of
the
technology
team,
and
he
is
actually
the
2022
it
Ninja
Warrior
Champion
there.
There
is
a
video
YouTube
video,
which
is
really
cool
that
is
on
our
website.
G
I,
believe
that
the
the
public
can
go
out
and
staff
and
check
it
out
and
see
his
amazing
skills,
and
so
he
won
a
100
gift
card
and
Prestige
for
our
district.
So
we're
excited
and
thank
you
to
Mr
Duran
I,
know
he's
probably
out
there
listening
and
he
does
a
great
job
as
well
as
Mr
Sinatra
and
Mr
Pierce,
who
are
with
us
tonight.
G
So
next
I'd
just
like
to
remind
the
trustees
that
you
received
a
copy
of
the
governance
handbook
and
we
are
looking
to
bring
that
every
January
now
so
after
the
December
reorganization
meetings,
we'd
like
to
bring
the
go,
the
governor's
handbook
to
the
board
for
review
and
any
changes,
and
so
at
the
next
meeting
in
January
on
January
24th,
we
will
hopefully
bring
that
back.
So
any
kind
of
changes
or
recommendations
you
may
have
for
that.
We're
hoping
you'll
bring
that
with
you
at
that
time.
G
G
I
just
want
to
let
everyone
know
that
we
are
working
actively
with
our
transportation
department
and
our
drivers
and
our
management
team
over
in
transportation
and
all
of
the
sites
and
so
I.
Thank
you,
though,
for
your
comments
on
that
this
evening,
but
please
continue
to
encourage
your
children
to
come
to
school
every
day
and
and
learn,
and
it's
a
great
opportunity,
as
we
move
forward
between
now
and
June,
for
them
to
come
to
school.
G
So
I
wanted
to
emphasize
that
and
then
a
reminder
that
this
coming
Monday
is
Martin
Luther,
King,
Jr's
birthday,
our
district
will
be
closed
and
you
know
as
I
as
I
look
back
on
the
life
of
of
Martin
Luther
King
Junior.
Many
many
Quotes
come
to
mind.
One
of
the
quotes
I
just
wanted
to
read
this
evening
that
he
said
the
function
of
education
is
to
teach
one
to
think
intensively
and
to
think
critically:
intelligence
plus
character.
G
That
is
the
goal
of
true
education,
and
so,
as
we
reflect
upon
his
birthday,
this
coming
Monday
as
we
will
not
be
having
school
that
day,
please
go
back
and
check
out
a
lot
of
the
quotes
that
that
he
championed
a
lot
of
the
efforts
that
he
championed
and
remember
the
work
that
he
did
and
it
continues
to
live
on
to
this
day
and
so
in
education.
It
is
key.
G
Attendance
is
key
to
getting
an
education
and
so
again
I
just
want
to
let
the
the
community
know
that
we
will
be
closed
on
Monday
and
I
know.
Our
team
does
a
great
job
of
putting
out
messages
through
parent
Square
to
let
the
community
know
when
we
are
closed
or
when
there
are
changes
to
various
things,
and
we
will
get
better
putting
out
Communication
in
a
timely
manner,
as
Miss
Devlin
said
about
the
timeliness
of
our
communication,
so
I
want
to
let
you
know,
we
are
working
on
that
and
again
trustee
Benz.
G
Congratulations
on
this
evening.
Getting
you
sworn
in.
So
that's
always
an
exciting
event
know
your
daughter
was
excited
to
be
here
to
be
able
to
assist
you
with
that
and
our
other
trustees
back
in
December
when
they
were
sworn
in.
So
we're
excited
about
that
and
and
Trust
yakis.
We
do
miss
you.
We
know
you're
out
there
in
in
Zoom
land
listening.
So
we
hope
to
see
you
at
our
next
board
meeting
and
with
that
I'm
going
to
turn
it
over
to
Dr
dwyzon.
N
All
right,
testing
I
think
I
forgot
over
break
how
to
turn
that
on
all
right
so
good
evening
for
president
love,
French,
Board
of
Trustees
and
aesd
staff
and
Community.
It's
my
pleasure
to
share
with
you
some
of
our
highlights
from
academic
services.
So
I
first
want
to
invite
the
board
and
staff
to
our
first
annual
we've
done
science
fairs
before,
but
we're
combining
it
with
a
science
fair
in
history,
David
on
Saturday
January
21st
from
9
to
12.
So
you
should
have
a
flyer
for
that.
N
It
will
be
at
Melva
Davis
students
will
be
showing
off
their
projects
and
we're
so
pleased
to
Showcase
and
highlight
our
Adelanto
Elementary
School
Scholars
expertise
in
science
in
history.
So
we're
looking
forward
to
that.
Our
third
professional
development
day
for
this
year
is
taking
place
on
Friday
January
27th.
That
is
a
non-school
day
for
our
parents
at
home
and
that
will
be
at
Melva
Davis.
N
And
so
we
look
forward
to
those
days
to
invest
in
our
time
to
learn
and
grow
as
teachers
and
staff.
So
we
look
forward
to
learning
and
growing
with
one
another.
We
have
sessions
in
PE
reading
math
Hands-On
time
to
collaborate
with
one
another,
it's
just
a
great
day,
so
we
look
forward
to
that
on
January
27th
we're
excited
to
enter
into
our
next
phase
of
our
culture
and
climate
plan.
So
this
year
we
started
with
a
reset
for
PBIS
and
we're,
while
we're
still
focusing
on
that
we're
also
embedding
in
implicit
bias.
N
So
we
are
working
with
our
County
Partners
to
bring
that
to
our
managers,
our
teachers,
because
we
want
to
make
sure
that,
as
we
look
at
our
climate
and
culture
and
discipline
that
we
are
thinking
about
the
whole
child,
so
we
are
excited
about
those
happening.
We
are
beginning
to
train
it.
It's
actually
once
we
hit
January
it's
starting
to
get
to
be
testing
time
again,
so
we
are
beginning
our
lpac
trainings
this
month.
So
that's
our
English
learner
proficiency
examination.
N
So
those
begin
soon-
and
so
we
are
also
in
the
middle
of
a
pilot
for
our
history
and
social
science,
and
so
we
just
met
last
week
with
our
first
pilot.
Debrief
and
teachers
are
currently
starting.
Our
second
pilot,
which
is
McGraw-Hill
right
now,
so
four
schools
we're
also
entering
that
public
phase,
where
public
gets
an
opportunity
to
come
and
look
at
the
materials
and
so
you're
going
to
get
information
about
that
on
parent
square
and
social
media.
N
The
four
different
schools
are
helping
us
out
with
that,
as
well
as
our
boardroom,
so
there'll
be
plenty
of
opportunities,
all
around
town
to
come
and
pre-vote
preview,
those
materials,
and
then
a
few
of
us
are
actually
on
the
way
to
Palm
Desert
to
attend
the
every
child
counts
Symposium,
which
really
helps
us
to
zero
in
on
our
child
welfare
attendance
type
systems
in
our
special
education
system.
N
T
Thank
you
all
right.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
Dr
dwayzon
good
evening,
president
of
French
trustees,
Mr
Cross,
District,
colleagues
and
Community.
Thank
you
for
I
actually
enjoy
sharing
a
little
bit
from
our
HR
department
each
month.
So
quick
update
negotiations
with
our
teachers.
Adta
we've
completed
three
meetings.
Negotiation
meetings-
our
next
scheduled
meeting,
takes
place
the
end
of
this
month
on
January
31st.
So
look
for
looking
forward
to
those
to
those
meetings.
T
Csca
I'd
like
to
also
share
that
we've
completed
four
negotiation
meetings
with
our
CSE
partners.
Our
next
recently
we
met
last
Friday
January
6th.
We
have
another
scheduled
date
later
this
month.
Cc
and
the
district
are
making
a
good
progress
in
negotiations
separately
from
negotiations.
Csc
and
the
district
are
also
continuing
to
meet
to
revamp,
update
and
negotiate
several
job
descriptions
that
are
in
the
works,
and
we
appreciate
the
work
and
progress
both
sides
are
making
now.
T
The
district
will
continue
to
meet
and
work
collaboratively
with
both
Union
Partners
to
reach
Fair
agreements
that
support
all
of
our
employees
and
student
achievements
in
regards
to
PD
I
know:
Dr
dwyzen
just
mentioned
a
few
minutes
ago
that
it's
a
Friday
January
27th
is
a
non-student
day,
so
it
also
gives
us
an
HR
an
opportunity
to
provide
training.
T
So
the
HR
department
has
planned
a
customer
service
training
that
will
take
place
again
on
Friday
January
27th
at
Gus
Franklin
Juniors
stem
school
as
part
of
the
professional
learning
opportunities
provided
by
our
wonderful
HR
team.
We're
delighted
to
be
offering
this
training
to
set
that
that
day
and
communicate,
hopefully
more
trainings
moving
forward.
T
I
also
have
an
update
on
certificated
staff.
So
there's
something
called
as
assignment
monitoring
so
assignment
monitoring
is
a
mechanism
under
the
commission
on
teacher
credentialing
in
it
and
the
assignment
monitoring
you
is
used
to
ensure
that
educators
are
appropriately
credentialed
for
their
position
and
that
students
are
served
appropriately
by
certificated
staff.
Assignment
monitoring
also
is
a
keyway
in
which
the
state
can
identify
areas
of
shortage
because
of
a
misassignment.
T
So
I'd
like
to
thank
Dana
Curtis
for
for
that
work,
let's
see
the
also
I
would
like
to
thank
the
the
maintenance
crew
as
you
as
we
all
saw
today
in
the
last
couple
days.
All
this
rain
that's
coming
and,
and
we
have
to
make
sure
that
that
water
drains
gutters
at
the
schools
are
are
working
appropriately.
T
So
there's
no
flooding
so
I
know
we
were
talking
earlier
to
Mr
kretchen,
who
leads
our
department
in
maintenance
and
just
like
to
thank
all
of
the
maintenance
workers
who
helped
especially
today,
to
ensure
that
schools
are
safe
and
and
to
continue
that
work
so
that
our
schools
remain
safe
and
hopefully,
there's
not
a
whole
lot
of
damage.
The
last
thing
I'd
like
to
share
is
just
to
remind
everybody
about
our
our
anniversary
recognition
ceremony.
I
know
we
did
a
piece
about
a
month
and
a
half
ago.
T
So
the
second
piece
to
that
is
is
our
employees,
who
have
reached
the
20
25
and
30
year
anniversary
miles
Stone,
so
that's
going
to
take
place.
The
anniversary
recognition
for
them
will
take
place
at
our
next
board
meeting
on
January
24th
and
as
Michael
shared
I'd,
also
like
to
wish
everybody
a
Happy
New
Year
as
we
move
into
2023..
Thank
you
for
listening.
This
concludes
my
comments.
I
N
N
So
I
just
want
to
give
a
little
bit
of
background
just
for
context,
so
our
California
assessment
of
student
progress
and
performance-
we
call
it
the
cast
for
short,
was
last
given
back
in
2019,
so
we
had
a
two-year
Gap
due
to
the
pandemic.
The
Casp
is
given
to
students
in
grades
three
through
eight
and
eleven.
N
It
measures,
English
English
language,
arts,
Math
and
Science.
Only
but
science
is
in
grades
five
through
eight.
Only
that's
when
our
students
are
assessed
there
as
a
nation.
Last
year,
our
test
scores
were
down
in
all
subject
areas
and
it's
important
as
I'm
moving
forward
with
this
presentation
that
you
can
that
you
know
that
this
year
is
considered
a
baseline
year.
So,
while
I'm
going
to
show
you
comparative
data
of
where
we
were
it's
important
that
we
don't
really
compare
it,
they
were
different
students
different
time.
N
We've
we've
gone
through
things,
so
this
is
our
Baseline
year,
and
so
we
call
it
the
California
Student
growth
model,
so
moving
forward
you'll
see
more
of
the
comparative
data
and
then
we
are
also
leveled
in
the
different
areas
on
five
status
levels.
So
it
can
go
from
very
high,
high
medium
low
and
very
low,
so
our
full
dashboard
was
just
released
in
December.
N
We
actually
have
some
pieces
that
are
not
all
the
way
out
yet
so
those
will
be
coming
and
then
currently,
as
a
district
for
English
language,
arts
I
wanted
to
make
sure
you
had
these
three
on
the
very
front
and
beginning
of
the
slides,
22.95
Proficiency
in
English
language
arts.
That's
your
above
and
students
who
have
met
combined.
That's
a
combined
area.
We
are
11.69
Proficiency
in
mathematics
and
we
are
10.44
Proficiency
in
science.
N
So
really
quickly,
these
are
this
was
2018-2019,
so
you
have
these
slides
for
reference
I'm
not
going
to
spend
much
time
here,
but
what
I
wanted
to
note
was
moving
forward.
This
is
English
language
arts.
This
is
where
we
were
just
this
past
year,
so
we
have
the
Adelanto
Elementary
School
District.
The
two
main
columns
that
we
note
to
get
that
proficiency
are
the
standard
exceeded,
which
is
a
four
and
the
standard
met
which
is
at
a
three.
So
we
combine
those
areas
together.
N
N
N
So
these
slides
that
you
have
in
front
of
you
and
I
I
again
I
want
to
talk
really
specifically
about
how
these
work
these
particular
standards
work.
So
these
are
rated
on
what's
called
a
distance
from
standard.
So
if
you
think
about
that
zero
line
that
you
see
right
in
front
of
you
consider
that
zero
line
the
standard
so
as
the
zero
line
is
at
the
standard,
that's
where
we
want
our
students
to
be
that's
the
minimum,
so
you
can
be
below
that
standard.
N
You
can
be
above
that
standard
so
that
score
that
you
see
is
What's
called
the
distance
from
standard.
So
on
this
one
district-wide,
for
example,
we
are
as
a
district
where
about
23
percent
proficient
in
English
language
arts
as
a
district
as
a
whole.
If
you
combined
all
of
our
students,
we're
about
78
points
away
from
meeting
that
bare
minimum,
that's
called
the
distance
from
standard,
so
we're
78
points
or
negative
78
points
away.
N
So
if
you
look
across
you'll
see
that
each
of
our
schools
calculate
a
distance
from
standard
score,
so
all
of
those
are
what
comes
together
to
make
our
district
score.
So
I'm
going
to
kind
of
so
you
can
see
these
are
all
of
our
elementary
schools.
On
this
particular
slide
and
you'll
note,
you
have
Braddock
in
Eagle
Ranch,
thus
Morgan
Kincaid,
Ted,
Vic,
Victoria,
mcgathon,
West,
Creek
and
the
west
side
park
so
again,
you'll
be
able
to
see
each
of
those
at
a
glance.
N
Also
by
program
some
of
our
data
at
the
time
isn't
all
the
way
calculated.
So
if
you
see
a
blank
and
no
distance
from
standard,
it
just
means
that
particular
area
is
not
quite
calculated
yet
so
then
we
also
have
it
broken
down
by
student
group,
race
and
ethnicity.
On
this
one,
and
then
you
have
comparison
and
again
at
the
time
we
did
not
have
the
distance
from
standard
for
other
districts,
but
you'll,
see
about
where
we're
at
for
English
language,
arts
and
then
I.
These
are
our
math
scores.
N
So
again,
this
is
across
the
state
of
California.
This
is
where
our
biggest
dips
were
so
as
a
district
for
our
for
our
district
as
a
whole.
We're
117
points
from
standard,
that's
our
distance
from
standard
and
then
you'll
see
all
of
the
school
sites
and
where
we're
at
and
where
we
average
to
make
that
district-wide
score.
N
N
Local
districts,
and
so
when
you
go
through
these
they're,
never
they're,
never
fine,
but
what
it
is
is
again
we're
going
back
to
that
word
as
a
baseline,
but
what's
more
important
is
what
we're
doing
about
it?
What
how
are
we
moving
forward
because
really
that's
where
the
center
of
the
discussion
needs
to
be,
and
so
what
I
know
about
this
district
and
looking
at
past
data?
N
Is
there
a
history
of
moving
forward
and
moving
up,
and
that's
exactly
what
attitude
that
we're
taking
here
and
where
we're
going
with
this,
and
so
our
acceleration
plan
really
encompasses
these
areas,
and
so
there
these
are.
Hopefully
none
of
these
are
anything
that's
new
to
our
public,
to
our
staff
to
our
board.
These
are
things
in
items
that
are
embedded
and
the
ideas
that
we're
really
going
in
deep
with
these,
so
the
first
one
being
professional
development.
N
We
mentioned
our
professional
development
day,
making
sure
that
we
focus
at
our
teachers
are
armed
with
the
knowledge
and
the
information
that
they
need
to
make
that
difference
in
the
classroom.
The
second
one
is
focusing
on
lesson
design
when
we
walk
in
the
classrooms.
What's
the
objective,
what
standard
are
we
trying
to
hit?
Those
are
important
in
having
those
discussions
around
our
lessons
and
seeing
each
other.
Those
are
the
directions
in
which
we
want
to
move
the
third
one
being
curriculum
and
assessment.
N
The
fourth
one
would
be
multi-tiered
systems
of
support,
and
this
really
involves
making
sure
that
every
single
child
is
known
for
who
they
are.
What
do
they
need?
How
do
we
give
them
what
they
need,
and
how
do
we
move
forward
and
so
multi-tiered
systems
of
support?
You
will
begin
to
see
at
all
of
our
campuses
and
what
we're
putting
into
place
to
make
sure
to
meet
the
needs
of
the
whole
child
number
five
expanded
learning
opportunities.
I
saw
our
after
school
program
here
today.
N
How
do
we
really
blend
so
that
the
after
school
program
and
the
school
day
are
seamless
that
they
work
together
for
the
betterment
of
our
students?
That,
after
school
time
really
should
be
an
opportunity
to
expand
the
school
day
so
having
fun,
engaging
making
sure
that
we're
providing
our
students
with
those
opportunities?
N
Those
are
the
kind
of
things
that
we
need
so
we're.
Looking
at
tutoring
and
intercession
summer
school
is
coming
up,
we've
already
begun
planning
for
those
things,
and
so
those
expanded
learning
opportunities.
The
next
one
is
make
really
making
sure
to
increase
our
opportunities
for
parents,
family
and
Community
Partners,
making
sure
that
we
have
really
upped
and
increased
the
voice
of
our
parents
and
Community
this
year
through
our
lcap
through
our
d-lac,
and
so
we
just
we
want
to
hear
the
voices
of
our
parents
and
the
next
layer
of
that
is
really.
N
How
do
we
incorporate
student
voice?
How
do
we
hear
from
our
students
about
what
they
need
so
that
we
can
give
them
what
they
need
instead
of
what
we
think
my
kids
will
also
tell
you
what
I
think
may
not
be
what
they
think
and
then
the
final
one
is
our
culture
and
climate
which
you
hear
a
lot
about,
because
that's
you
can't
learn
an
environment
where
you
don't
feel
safe.
N
You
can't
learn
an
environment
where
you
don't
feel
cared
for
or
that
you
don't
feel
that
you
belong
and
so
really
creating
these
opportunities,
where
our
students
feel
safe
and
welcoming
and
inclusive
learning
and
environment
is
the
goal
and
the
key.
So
that's
just
a
brief
overview
of
our
plan
for
acceleration.
It's
really
much
deeper
than
that,
but
I
wanted
to
make
sure
that
for
our
board,
that
I
provided
an
overview
of
our
current
state,
but
really
what's
most
important.
N
F
I
would
just
like
to
make
a
brief
statement.
Thank
you
for
that
information.
Dr
dwison,
it's
an
eye-opening,
not
what
we
want
to
see,
but
I
hear
I,
see
a
CL,
a
plan
and
I'm
glad
that
you
broke
out
the
data
for
each
School
in
each
subgroup,
and
so
we
can
start
building
on
improving
those
in
those
areas.
F
You
know
test
scores,
don't
tell
the
whole
story
and
I've
said
that
over
the
years
you
know,
but
it's
just
you
know
heartbreaking
to
see
the
data,
but
when
you
go
to
our
school
sites-
and
you
see
our
kids,
excelling
and
learning,
you
know
it's
a
whole
different
story.
So
you
know,
even
though
it's
uncomfortable
to
see
I
know
that
we're
on
the
right
path
to
improve
that
part
of
the
data,
so
I'm
looking
forward
to
the
next
set
of
numbers
coming
out,
because
I
do
see,
you
have
a
plan.
Oh
thank
you.
B
Okay,
well,
I
will
go
I
know
the
test.
Scores
are
not,
but
then
again
it
was
kind
of
expect
expected.
There
wasn't
much
that
could
be
done.
You
know,
I
do
like
that.
We
have
a
plan
and
it
is,
it
is
for
a
frustrate
straining
when
our
school
and
our
kids
and
our
schools
and
our
teachers
are
judged
by
a
stand
standardized
test,
but
yet
we
have
to
diff
differentiate
and
we
can't
do
that
for
the
test,
but
unfortunately,
until
the
law
make
makers
change
the
laws.
This
is
how
we
are
viewed.
B
B
I'd
have
to
put
push
the
kid
out
out
of
the
way
and
try
to
sit
there
and
critically
think
my
myself,
some
sometimes
but
I
do
a
pre-appreciate
that
we
are
strive,
striving
for
and
one
and
one
of
the
things
that
I
always
learned
and
called
College
when
I
was
take.
Taking
all
of
my
classes
was
that
we
always
have
to
self-reflect,
you
know
what
what
did
we
do?
What
could
we
do
best
better?
What
could
we
we
change?
B
B
You
know
meet
ing
dad
that
bar
and
that
that
expectation
and
I'm
excited
excited
to
see
the
growth.
So
thank
thank
you
for
all
that
the
district
is
due
doing.
I
could
name
forever
all
the
Departments
and
names,
but
the
this
district
is
a
machine
with
men
in
many
parts,
but
with
the
big
heart.
So
thank
thank
you.
C
I
will
keep
it
as
short
as
possible.
I
do
want
to
say
thank
you
for
being
and
presenting
tonight.
I
do
appreciate
the
information
that
was
presented
to
us.
C
I
hate
numbers,
I'm,
just
gonna,
be
honest,
so
I
was
never
really
good
at
tests.
I'm
pretty
sure.
K
C
Would
have
failed
to
the
anxiety
and
whatnot
yeah,
so
I
don't
know
I
think
there's
more
to
school,
but
thank
you.
A
Thank
you,
Dr
delwaison
I
know
that
when
we
look
at
numbers,
numbers
are
one
thing
and
then
we
go
to
our
schools
and
we
look
at
our
children
and
we
watch
our
children
and
we
watch
our
teachers.
We
watch
the
interactions.
We
see
the
growth
that
is
going.
We
know
that
we're
coming
out
the
pandemic
and
we
know
that
this
is
going
to
be
our
Baseline
and
we
have
plans
in
place
and
I'm
proud
to
be
a
part
of
this
District.
A
Both
my
children
have
come
through
this
district
and
we
will
see
our
numbers
change.
I,
look
at
the
children,
I!
Look
at
this,
the
teachers
I
look
at
the
parents,
I
look
at
the
support
that
everyone
receives
I.
Look
at
all
the
different
things
that
we
have
going
on
in
our
district
opposed
to
six
years
ago
or
whenever
I
moved
up
here.
I,
don't
recall
whenever,
10
years
ago,
when
we
didn't
have
after
school
programs
all
kinds
of
different
things.
You
know
we
have
so
many
things
that
we
have
changed.
A
That
I
am
proud
to
be
a
part
of
this
district
and
I,
look
forward
to
seeing
a
store
and
see
what
we
have
and
our
outcomes
that
are
going
to
come.
It
didn't
happen
overnight
and
it's
not
going
to
change
overnight.
Thank
you
for
your
presentation.
A
Well,
you
can
stay
right
there,
academic
Services
William
settlement
annual
report
staff
report,
2021-22
Dr
dawizon,
will
present
the
Williams
statement.
Annual
report.
N
So
this
is
just
really
briefly.
This
is
Williams
is
an
annual
report.
So
this
is
the
21-22.
It's
a
required
complex
compliance
task
item
for
CDE.
This
report
will
look
a
little
different
from
the
past
reports,
as
this
will
include
findings
from
other
school
districts,
county-wide
not
just
hours.
They
again.
They
look
at
four
key
areas:
instructional
materials
facilities,
teacher
credentialing
and
assignment
and
public
reporting,
so
our
Williams
reports
were
significantly
delayed
due
to
the
California
Statewide
assessment,
accountability
system,
changes
long
word
and
the
pursuit
to
assembly
Bill
599,
which
modified
Ed
code.
N
So
a
new
list
of
schools
were
identified
by
the
superintendent
of
Public
Instruction
for
monitoring
in
the
2223
school
year,
which
is
this
year,
which
is
we
had
even
more
schools
that
had
to
be
Williams
inspected
this
year.
Additionally,
another
list
of
schools
will
be
identified
this
year,
who
will
be
moving
forward
for
monitoring
beginning
in
the
23-24
school
year,
but
that's
just
a
quick
report
of
our
Williams
findings.

I
wanted
to
welcome
you

the
board.
This
evening,
Mr
Nichols
has
worked
with
school
districts
all
over
the
state.
He
and
his
team
related
to
potentially
media
inquiries.
That
may
be
above
and
beyond
what
staff
potentially
are
able
to
handle,
and
so
he's
a
very
professional
firm,
and
he
has
been
doing
this
as
well
himself.
Mr
Stephen
Nichols
for
quite
some
time-
and
this
is
only
if
needed
between
now
and
the
end
of
the
year.

So
it's
a
not
to
exceed
amount,
but
we
may
not
even
use
them
unless
we
need
them
for
situations
that
may
or
may
not
arise
this
year,
and
so,
but
again
he's
highly
recommended
by
many
school
districts.
We've
done
reference
checks
on
his
firm
as
well,
and
he
has
been
a
great
asset
to
working
with
our
media,
such
as
the
television
stations
and
people
like
that.
That
may
have
inquiries
related
to
events
that
occur
within
school
districts.
