Has
been
established,
Pledge

please
stand
and
place
your
right
hand
over
your
heart.
D
C
A
A
Okay,
thank
you,
section.
2.02,
adoption
of
the
agenda
trustees
Arena
motion
to
adopt,
with
the
exception
of
12
0.02,
so
we've
got
12
point
12.05.
E
Trustee
Turner
motion
to
adopt
the
agenda.
B
A
H
All
right
good
evening
board
president
love
French
Board
of
Trustees
superintendent,
Mr
Krause
and
our
aesd
staff
families
and
Community
I
would
like
to
take
this
time
to
share
some
important
updates
on
behalf
of
our
academic
Services
team.
So
I
first
want
to
thank
our
Enrollment
Center.
We
have
Karen
Evers
and
our
whole
team
over
there
for
their
hard
work,
making
sure
we
get
our
families
enrolled
quickly
and
efficiently.
H
H
Brenda
Holtz
who's
been
working
this
summer
to
make
sure
that
the
new
school
year
we
don't
have
students
missing
school
from
the
beginning,
so
she's
working
on
identifying
students
in
need
of
those
tdaps
to
make
sure
those
are
done
in
process
prior
to
the
beginning
of
the
school
year.
So
parents,
if
you're
listening
and
you
have
a
student
going
into
seventh
grade,
please
make
sure
that
you
have
those
tdaps
done.
So
we
are
not.
Our
students
are
not
excluded.
H
I
want
to
thank
Wendy
and
Mary
over
in
our
curriculum,
Center
they're,
getting
ready
for
our
upcoming
annual
Williams
case
visits
from
the
county.
So
there's
a
lot
that
goes
into
making
sure
that
we
have
our
books,
materials
resources
to
get
our
to
get
to
our
teachers
in
time
and
Wendy
Mary.
Our
warehouse
all
are
instrumental
in
making
sure
that
this
happens
so
I
want
to
thank
thank
them
for
their
hard
work
and
I
look
forward
to
sharing
our
cleared
Williams
reports
in
the
coming
year.
H
I
would
also
like
to
announce
our
upcoming
Parent
Academy
and
resource
Fair
on
Friday
July
28th.
This
is
a
invite
specifically
for
McKinney
vento
and
our
foster
students.
Invitations
are
currently
being
sent
out
and
families
contacted
personally.
It
will
be
held
at
Columbia
Middle
School
from
nine
to
one
on
July
28th,
and
we
look
forward
to
welcoming
our
students
back.
H
We
are
in
the
final
planning
stages
to
welcome
back
all
managers
for
the
23-24
school
year
on
July,
27th
and
28th
managers
will
be
engaging
with
one
another
hearing
updates
making
plans
any
new
rules
or
regulations,
and
we
want
to
make
sure
that
we
use
this
meeting
to
chart
our
path
for
the
new
school
year.
We
have
finalized
our
parent
engagement
calendar
board.
You
do
have
a
copy
of
that
in
front
of
you
this
evening
and
you'll
see
it's
the
color-coded
one.
H
So
we
look
forward
to
hearing
our
voices
of
our
parents
and
Community
all
year
long
we
have
special
education
voices,
lcap
voices,
District
advisory
Council
and
our
d-lac
Council,
not
to
mention
all
of
the
other
site
opportunities
coffee
with
the
principal
School
site
councils.
So
we
look
forward
and
we
are
invested
in
making
sure
that
the
voices
of
our
parents
and
Community
are
in
the
work
that
we
do
so
the
last
board
meeting.
H
H
As
soon
as
we
get
those
scores
and
accounts,
we
will
share
them
once
they're,
not
embargoed
anymore,
and
then
we
look
forward
to
sharing
that
information
with
the
board.
So
we're
currently
finalizing
details
for
August,
2nd
welcome
back
for
teachers
and
staff.
We
look
forward
to
welcoming
welcoming
our
teachers
with
sessions
on
our
new,
comprehensive
curriculum
guides,
understanding
the
resources
that
are
available.
We
have
special
education,
PE
SEL
mental
health
and
more
so
we
look
forward
to
seeing
everyone
at
the
luncheon.
H
That's
our
classified
and
certificated
from
12
to
1
15
on
August,
2nd
I
also
want
to
give
a
special
thank
you
to
the
teachers,
the
classified
and
management
that
helped
to
have
an
amazing
summer
school
program.
Each
of
you
are
deeply
appreciated
and
also
a
big
thank
you
to
the
teachers
who
worked
on
our
comprehensive
instructional
guides
which
we're
going
to
launch
on
the
welcome
back
day.
H
It
was
very
energizing
to
see
the
collaboration
among
the
teachers
and
I
know
they're
excited
to
roll
those
out
just
as
much
as
we
are,
and
then
lastly,
we've
been
I've,
been
helping
out
and
with
our
human
resources
team.
The
last
few
weeks
and
I
wanted
to
thank
them
for
their
hard
work
and
making
sure
we
fill
all
of
our
positions.
H
It
has
been
a
pleasure
to
work
with
an
amazing
team,
they're
working
on
making
sure
that
we
fill
all
vacancies
and
there
have
been
about
four
bus
driver
positions
filled
since
we
last
met
and
HR
continues
to
work
with
transportation
to
complete
the
bus
driver
training.
Also,
a
total
of
about
69
volunteers
have
already
attended
the
required
orientation
to
volunteer
for
23.24
and
they're
working
diligently
to
get
those
names
approved
at
the
next
board
meeting.
So
with
that.
That
concludes
the
updates
for
academic
services.
G
So
a
very
exciting
time,
and
now
everybody
gets
a
nice
little
break
except
the
Heat's
coming
so
I,
don't
know
how
much
of
a
enjoyable
break
they'll
have
because
it's
going
to
be
hot
this
week,
but
thank
you
to
everyone
that
helped
make
summer
school
and
doctors
wisen
and
her
team
in
academic,
Services,
Carol
Coburn
and
all
the
team
members
over
there
as
well.
That
helped
make
sure
that
we
had
a
great
summer
session
for
our
students.
So
thank
you
very
much
looking
forward
to
continuing
that
in
the
future.
G
I'd
also
like
to
remind
everybody
that
on
August
7th
school
starts
back
again
on
Monday
August
7th.
We
will
be
messaging
that
out
over
and
over
and
over
again
through
our
social
media,
through
parent
Square
through
various
media
sites,
as
well
as
send
letters
home
and
and
many
many
reminders
so
that
on
August
7th
we
have
as
many
people
as
we
can
show
up
at
our
school
sites.
G
As
many
students,
you
heard
about
the
wonderful
news
about
the
enrollment
center
staying
busy
and
continuing
to
work
on
our
enrollment
in
our
district
and
that's
a
testament
to
the
great
work
that
is
going
on
in
our
district
and
parents
are
recognizing
that
and
families
and
and
really
wanting
their
students
to
come
over
to
us.
So
we're
excited
about
that
as
well.
G
We
have
a
wellness
conference
coming
up
at
the
end
of
this
month
before
August
that
several
School
sites
will
be
participating
in.
We
have
teachers
from
Braddock
and
classified
staff.
G
We
have
staff
from
George
and
we
have
staff
from
adelons
Elementary
School
going
they'll
be
in
Anaheim,
and
it's
the
wellness
conference
and
and
a
lot
of
what
they
talk
about
is
culture
and
climate
in
the
district's,
equity
and
empowerment,
health
and
wellness
related
to
our
students,
and
so
I
actually
will
be
going
down
there
for
a
couple
days
as
well
and
joining
our
staff
in
that
conference
in
Anaheim.
So
we're
looking
forward
to
that
and
learning
how
we
can
better
support
our
students
and
our
families
as
we
move
forward
and
then.
G
Finally,
the
last
announcement
I
want
to
make
a
very
important
announcement
and
you
will
be
hearing
more
about
this
on
our
website.
We
also
will
be
messaging
this
out
to
all
of
our
families
over
and
over
before
school
starts
this
evening
on
our
board
agenda.
G
If
you've
had
an
opportunity
to
look
at
it
under
the
policies,
we
do
have
a
new
policy,
potentially
that
if
the
board
approves
this
evening
related
to
mobile
devices,
we
want
to
make
sure
that
we
are
supporting
our
learning
in
the
classroom
and
with
this
policy
this
evening
it
would
prohibit
students
from
having
cell
phones
out
during
instructional
time.
G
And
so
we
know
that
mobile
devices
are
a
a
big
distraction.
They
have
been
for
a
long
time,
so
I
just
wanted
to
bring
that
up
to
everybody's
attention
and
we're
looking
forward
to
having
a
healthy
discussion
on
that
policy
this
evening
as
well
and
with
that
Madam
president.
That's
all
the
comments
I
have.
Thank
you
so
much.
A
G
Well,
good
evening,
Madam
president
members
of
the
board
again
I'm
on
this
side
of
the
podium
this
evening
and
hate
that
I'm
always
my
back
to
everybody
in
the
back.
But
hopefully
everybody
can
see
me
I'll
kind
of
turn
a
little
bit
to
the
side
here,
but
this
evening,
I
just
want
to
give
you
a
quick
update
on
some
of
the
things
that
are
going
on
because
we
have
a
board
meeting
tonight.
G
But
our
next
board
meeting
is
not
until
August
15th
school
starts
August
7th,
so
we
wouldn't
be
able
to
I
wanted
to
share
just
a
few
things
of
how
we're
going
to
start
the
year
out
and
share
with
the
board
in
the
community
this
evening.
Some
of
the
great
things
we
have
going
on,
and
so
with
that
I'll
get
started
again.
As
I
mentioned
earlier,
school
does
start
on
August
7th,
Monday
August
7th.
We
are
looking
forward
to
seeing
everybody
come
back
and
all
their
smiling
faces.
We're
excited.
G
It's
been
a
while
so
I
know
the
summer
is
moving
forward
quickly
before
we
know
it'll
be
here,
I
want
to
encourage
everybody
to
go
to
our
website
and
download
the
academic
calendar.
It's
also
posted
to
our
social
media
site
so
that
parents
and
families
can
see
the
events
that
we
have
going
on
for
the
23-24
Academic
Year
also
I
want
to
encourage
everybody,
download
the
parent
Square
app
to
receive
messages.
G
We
really
use
the
parent
Square
app
to
send
out
important
messages
throughout
the
day
throughout
the
week
throughout
the
month
related
to
events
going
on
and
announcements
that
are
happening
in
the
district.
Also
make
sure
you
check
your
students
School
website
parents
for
important
updates
throughout
the
year
as
a
lot
of
information
is
posted
by
the
principals
and
the
administration
at
the
school
sites
and
then
back
to
school
night.
That's
a
big
event
coming
up
in
the
fall.
G
G
So
with
that
this
slide
I
just
wanted
to
share
just
the
focus
of
2324,
and
here
you
can
see
a
a
building
and
at
the
top,
are
all
of
our
students
and
families.
So
that's
that's
who
we
are
here
for
as
all
of
our
students
and
families
and
supporting
them,
and
we
have
three
pillars
there
that
we've
been
focusing
on
our
team
here
in
the
district
has
been
focusing
on.
It's
number
one
is
academic
achievement,
because
that
should
always
be
the
focus
for
any
school
district.
G
It's
very
important
that
our
students
are
able
to
read,
write,
learn
and
be
able
to
matriculate
into
the
next
grade
level,
and
then
we
have
our
social
emotional
health
that
is
there
as
well.
So
we
will
continue
focusing
on
that
as
we
go
through
the
board.
Agendas
on
a
consent
and
as
items
are
brought
forward
from
academic
Services,
Business
Services
HR.
G
What
we
have
are
items
that
are
are
bringing
in
vendors
to
support
our
social
emotional
health,
whether
we're
hiring
more
counselors,
whether
we're
hiring
more
social
workers,
whether
we're
hiring
companies
to
come
in
for
PBIS,
but
we
really
want
to
focus
not
only
on
our
students
but
also
on
our
staff
and
our
families.
So
it's
not
just
the
students,
that's
why,
at
the
top
I
put
all
students
and
families
in
there
as
well,
and
then
parent
and
family
community
engagement,
as
you
heard,
from
Dr
Dwight's
on
a
minute
ago,
she
put
out
the
calendar.
G
G
I
am
glad
that
we
still
have
zoom
for
many
meetings,
because
that
is
the
ability
for
parents
to
sit
at
home,
make
dinner
and
participate,
and
so
as
we
as
you
look
at
the
parent
engagement
calendar,
that
Dr
joyason
is
sharing.
It's
very
important
that
we
have
that
ability
to
reach
out
to
all
of
our
parents
and
do
that
and
then
at
the
bottom.
G
The
foundation
of
the
support
to
support
all
of
these
pillars
and
our
students
and
Families
is
the
board,
of
course,
that
we
have
I
want
to
thank
the
board
for
other
hard
work
that
they
do
throughout
the
year
and
supporting
all
the
initiatives
in
the
district.
And
then
we
have
the
superintendent
cabinet
and
all
the
work
that
we
do
to
support
them
all
of
our
certificated
staff
and
that's
our
certificated
management,
certificated
teachers,
everybody
that's
out
there
certificated
and
then
also
our
classified
staff,
and
that
includes
such
as
Mr
Sinatra
and
the
IT
team.
G
For
example,
all
the
managers
classified
managers,
all
the
classified
staff
to
our
bus
drivers.
Everybody
out
there
plays
a
part
in
supporting
the
success
of
all
of
our
students
and
families.
So
that's
the
Bedrock
that
we
have
there
at
the
bottom
to
support
our
goals
that
we
continue
to
focus
on
academic
achievement,
social,
emotional,
health
and
parent
and
Community
Family
engagement.
G
Some
of
the
other
areas
that
we
have
been
focusing
on
will
continue
to
really
look
at
what
we
can
do
to
support
our
students
are
the
cast
bla
and
math
scores
so
that
we
are
closing
the
Gap.
You
may
have
heard
that
there's
an
embargo
right
now,
so
we're
not
able
to
actually
publicly
talk
about
that,
but
at
some
point
we
will
and
we
will
have
a
robust
presentation
and
but
what
internally?
Just
so,
you
know
what's
going
on
behind
the
scenes,
each
principle
is
assessing
it.
Each
teacher
is
assessing
their
own
scores.
G
Looking
at
where
students
are
improving,
where
students
may
need
more
additional
supports,
and
so
a
lot
of
that
background
work
has
been
going
on.
We
continue
to
do
that
in
order
to
support
our
students
in
increasing
their
scores
as
we
move
forward,
especially
in
ela
English,
language,
arts
and
math,
and
then,
as
you
heard,
great
news
and
I
made
this
presentation
before
she
shared
the
good
news.
G
So
you
know
I'm
just
excited
to
hear
that
where
enrollment
is
going
up
because
we
need
more
students,
and
so
we've
really
been
marketing
our
district
out
there
via
various
Avenues
and
all
the
great
things
going
on
in
our
district.
So
we're
excited
that
we
will
still
look
at
increasing
enrollment
throughout
the
year.
G
It's
not
just
a
once
and
done
for
us,
our
Enrollment
Center
Works
24
hours
a
day,
not
really,
but
you
know
they
work
all
year,
so
we're
excited
about
the
work
that
they
do
to
support
our
families
and
get
them
enrolled
in
over.
Here.
We
also
want
to
look
at
our
tenants
rate.
We
know
that
attendance
is
key
to
students
learning
if
students
are
not
at
school,
for
whatever
reason
they
can't
learn,
and
so
we
are
really
attacking
The
Chronic
absenteeism
rate.
G
So
what
that
means
is
students
that
have
missed
a
lot
of
days
throughout
the
year,
but
we
don't
want
to
wait
till
they
miss
so
many
days.
We
really
want
to
say:
okay,
look,
you've
missed
two
days
what's
going
on
here.
Is
there
anything
that
we
might
be
able
to
support
you
in?
Is
there
you
know?
Maybe
your
family's
out
of
town,
maybe
there's
a
medical
issue.
What
is
it
that
we
can
support
you
on?
G
We
want
to
make
sure
that,
if
they're
not
here
that
they
get
the
work
that
they
missed,
so
that
they
can
catch
up
and
they're,
not
behind
their
colleagues,
their
fellow
peers
in
in
class,
so
that
they
can
not
get
far
behind
so
we're
really
going
to
attack
the
reason
why
a
lot
of
students
may
not
be
here.
It
could
be
site
business
going
out
and
checking
on
the
families
and
just
knocking
on
the
door
and
saying
hey.
How
can
we
support
you?
G
For
example,
some
of
the
things
we
do
have
Brenda
Holtz
who's,
an
out
12-month
employee
who
works
for
Dr,
dwyzen
and
her
team
to
be
able
to
look
at
that
and
say
hey.
What
can
we
do
to
reduce
that
attendance
rate?
I
mean
increase
that
attendance
rate,
reduce
chronic
absenteeism
and
then
fiscal
management?
This
is
huge
for
me
being
a
fiscal
person
as
well
maintaining
fiscal
solvency,
so
we
have
to
look
at
what's
going
on
in
the
state.
G
Governor
Newsom
just
signed
the
state
budget,
although
it's
not
exactly
what
we
had
hoped
it
would
be.
We
do
have
to
maintain
fiscal
solvency
throughout
the
year
and
23
24
is
no
exception,
so
we
will
be
presenting
the
board
on
audited
actuals
in
September,
first
interim
in
December
and
given
the
community
and
the
board
an
update
on
how
we
are
doing
fiscally.
So
that's
another
area
of
focus,
Dr
dwyzen
and
her
team
who
handle
the
categorical
monies
they
are
Dr.
G
Diana
Choi
is
on
it
with
Zach
Clement,
our
director
of
fiscal,
maintaining
all
of
our
categorical
programs
and
making
sure
that
we
are
doing
the
best
we
can
with
maintaining
fiscal
solvency
and
categoricals
as
well.
So
those
are
just
some
other
areas
of
focus
and
now,
as
Dr
Wise
on
said,
we
have
a
management
Retreat
training
coming
up
every
year.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
not
only
we're
supporting
all
you
know
our
staff,
but
our
managers
as
well
July
27th
to
28th
coming
up
it's
a
two-day
training
for
certificate
and
classified
management.
G
We
just
don't
look
at
certificate
in
management.
We
look
at
everybody
classified
certificate
educated.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
everybody's
getting
professional
development
that
they
need
so
again
we're
going
to
look
at
strengthening
their
skills,
knowledge
practices,
mindsets
or
principles
to
provide
high
quality
instruction
in
the
classroom
and
at
their
sites.
It's
very
important
that
principals
have
the
tools
they
need
to
support
the
classified
and
certificated
staff
at
their
site.
G
In
order
for
students
to
be
successful,
we
are
focusing
on
kindness
this
year,
but
fostering
a
culture
of
improvement
and
kindness
by
implementing
systems,
protocols
and
practices,
and
we've
got
to
shift
the
mindset
on
getting
better.
Okay,
that's
one
of
the
things
that
every
day
everybody
that
comes
to
school,
whether
it's
a
staff
member
or
a
student,
has
to
have
the
mindset
of
getting
better
one
day
at
a
time,
and
we
know
we
can
do
it,
we're
going
to
get
there
and
then
developing
a
high
quality,
Performance
Management
System
to
improve
feedback.
G
So
one
of
the
things
that
we
know
is
beneficial
to
our
staff
and
our
students
is
feedback.
How
did
I
do
did
I
do
well,
did
I
not
do
well?
Is
it
written
feedback?
Is
it
verbal
feedback?
What
processes
are
in
place
so,
as
we
move
forward
and
training
on
that,
we're
going
to
empower
our
management
team
to
be
able
to
learn
better
how
to
give
feedback
throughout
the
year
in
any
capacity?
So
we're
excited
about
that.
G
We
also
have
classifieds
secretary
clerk
training
coming
up
at
Gus
Franklin
stem
school,
so
that
will
be
on
August,
2nd.
The
same
day
as
our
welcome
back
so
in
the
morning
they
will
be
at
Gus
Franklin.
They
will
be
doing
learning
from
various
departments
such
as
risk
management,
such
as
it
talking
about
various
things.
As
an
example,
they'll
also
be
learning
positive,
behavior
supports
and
interventions.
They'll
also
be
learning
about
social,
emotional
learning,
and
so
you
know
a
lot
of
times.
G
G
That
may
not
be
the
best
choices
so,
but
we
want
to
support
our
secretaries
and
clerks
and
we'll
be
doing
that
with
training
coming
up.
And
then
we
have
a
very
robust,
as
Dr
dwison
mentioned
a
minute
ago,
robust
for
our
teachers.
Melba
Davis
will
be
doing
that
instructional
Focus
standard
space,
instruction
and
multi-tiered
systems
of
support.
G
As
you
can
see
their
mtss,
we
will
be
doing
various
things,
such
as
understand,
apply
standards,
resources,
available
support
standards
based
instruction
and
support
our
students
with
McKinney
Bento,
which
are
homeless
students,
as
you
heard
earlier,
there's
a
special
thing
coming
up
for
them:
social,
emotional
learning,
suicide
prevention.
G
All
teachers
will
be
also
learning
about
from
various
vendors
that
we
have
Discovery
education
is
an
example
and
other
Benders
that'll
be
up.
There.
I'll
be
learning
about
physical
education
for
our
PE
teachers.
Our
counselors
we'll
be
learning
about
suicide
prevention,
intervention
strategies,
special
ed
compliance,
supports
referrals,
scis
the
new
system
that
we'll
have
we'll
be
implementing
in
there,
and
so
we're
excited
about
a
very
robust
training
for
them,
because
all
of
this
goes
into
academic
achievement
for
our
students.
G
The
more
that
we
are
able
to
train
our
staff
Empower
them
to
have
the
knowledge
they
need
to
be
better
at
what
they
do
only
the
only
at
the
end
of
the
day,
everybody's
going
to
benefit,
and
with
that.
Thank
you.
G
So
much
I
just
wanted
to
share
a
little
bit
of
information
again
because
school
starts
August
7th,
but
we
won't
meet
again
until
August
15th
and
our
our
phrase
for
this
year
is
cultivate,
creative
kindness
and
we
really
are
looking
forward
to
sharing
a
lot
of
creative
ways
that
our
staff
and
students
can
be
kind
to
one
another,
because
that's
one
of
the
things
since
covered
that
we've
seen
that
has
went
by
the
wayside
is,
is
simple
little
acts
of
how
are
you
doing
today
and
and
just
opening
I
I
go
to
school
sites
and
I
open
Milk.
G
These
kids,
they
love
me
I,
don't
know
why,
but
they
want
me
to
open
their
milks
every
time.
I
go,
but
something
such
as
small
as
that
is,
is
an
act
of
kindness
for
them
and
they
just
they
love
it.
So
much
you
guys
should
go
to
the
cafeterias
and
and
watch
them.
Can
you
please
open
my
milk,
it's
so
cute,
but
yeah
but
being
kind
to
one
another?
It's
not
just
our
students,
but
really
you
know
it's
everybody
everywhere
we
go
I
I!
G
You
know
I
go
to
the
store
and
I
I
I
just
have
to
say
this
I
was
on
jury
duty.
This
week,
I
was
at
the
courthouse
and
you
know
getting
through
the
selection
of
jury
duty.
I
know
a
courthouse
is
not
a
very
happy
place,
but
you
know
any
chance
that
I
had
to
share
kindness
with
somebody
and
just
make
their
day
and
say
how
you
doing
or
have
a
great
day.
You
know
I
try
to
do
that
because
it's
just
you
know
it's
it's
kind
of
a
sad
place.
G
If
you
haven't
been
a
courthouse
lately,
but
just
sharing
just
sharing
a
smile.
You
know
walking
around
and
smiling
at
somebody
every
day
think
about
it.
How
many
times
you
go
somewhere
and
somebody
doesn't
even
smiled
at
you,
but
they
don't
even
say
hello
to
you.
Some
is
a
small
good
morning.
You
don't
have
to
know
somebody
to
be
kind
to
them.
You
know,
and
that's
one
of
the
things
that
hopefully
we'll
Institute
this
year
is
just
small
acts
that
people
can
do
that
make
a
big
difference.
G
A
E
I
just
have
a
comment
that
was
a
outstanding
presentation:
Mr
Krause,
on
the
direction
of
the
district.
So
thank
you
for
providing
that
for
us.
Thank.
G
I
I
did
have
a
question,
so
you
you
had
said
the
gov
Governor
had
signed
the
budge
budget
and
it
was
not
not
what
we
we
had
hoped.
Are
there
any
major
major
chain
changes
that
are
come
coming
our
our
way
or
not
much.
G
The
we
had
hoped
that
there
would
be
additional
funding
potentially,
but
again,
one
of
the
issues
that
the
governor
faces
as
well
as
us
is
that
the
tax
revenues
are
not
until
October.
He
gave
an
extension
to
a
lot
of
the
taxes,
and
so
really
until
October
he's
not
going
to
be
able
to
do
much
of
anything
which
we
kind
of
assumed.
G
That
was
going
to
happen,
so
maybe
in
October
November
we
might
get
an
update
to
say:
hey,
maybe
we'll
get
some
additional
funding,
because
we'll
take
any
additional
funding
we
can
get
from
the
state
if
they're,
if
they
have
some
Surplus
to
be
able
to
do
that,
so
that,
if
there's
not
any
major
cuts
for
us,
we're
good
we're
not
having
to
do
anything
like
that.
Physically,
the
state
just
didn't
have
a
lot
of
extra
money
to
give
districts.
G
I
J
That
was
a
loaded
presentation.
I
do
want
to
confer
with
trustee
Turner.
Thank
you
for
that
presentation
with
the
direction
I
look
forward
to
a
lot
of
these
events,
including
August,
2nd,
the
Baptist,
sorry
back
to
school,
for
our
teachers,
certificated
and
classified,
and
so
thank
you
for
that
presentation.
Thank.
C
A
Well,
trustees:
Soto!
Please
go.
A
Okay,
I
love
the
cultivating
of
kindness
and
smiles
I,
always
say
that
just
smiling
at
a
person
changes
changes
their
whole
day
and
I
happen
to
be
a
Smiler
and
a
hugger,
and
even
when
you're
you
know
not
having
a
good
day
just
seeing
someone
smile
back
at
you,
you
know
it
feels
so
your
day
goes
so
much
longer
at
work
when
everyone
is
tensed
and
nobody's
smiling
and
nobody's
laughing
I
feel
like
I'm
working
like
20
hours.
A
You
know
instead
of
working
my
eight
hours,
but
when
I'm
smiling
and
laughing
and
talking
whether
I'm
getting
my
work
done
or
not
right,
but
the
day
goes
by
much
faster.
So
when
I
read
that
in
the
welcoming
letter,
I
was
like
I'm
going
to
look
that
up
and
I
did
I
went
and
looked
it
up
what
the
phrase
meant
and
I
was
like.
Okay,
I
want
like
a
little
tree
put
stuff
on
it.
You
know,
and
things
to
say,
kind
things
to
people,
I
love
that.
Thank
you.
G
Madam
president,
if
I
may
out
in
our
hallway
down
here,
if
you
get
a
chance
in
the
hallway,
we
actually
put
up
a
big
giant
board
that
people
can
put
up
positive
phrases
about
their
colleagues
on
sticky
notes
as
ways
of
just
affirmations,
and
so
we
started
that
a
while
back
and
so
just
a
small
example.
Like
you
mentioned
about
the
tree.
So
little
things
like
that,
you
know
here's
the
thing
about
our
students.
We
don't
know
what
they
what
happened
to
the
night
before
we
don't
know
what
kind
of
day
they're
gonna
have.
G
But
when
they
come
here,
we
want
to
make
sure
that
it's
as
welcoming
as
it
can
be
and
as
smiling
as
our
as
as
we
can
make
it
for
them,
because
again,
at
the
end
of
the
day,
who
knows
what
their
home
situations
are?
No
matter
where
they
come
from
right
and
so
exactly
a
smile
could
make
all
the
difference
in
the
world
for
them
learning
that
day,
because
they
know
that
somebody
cares
about
them
at
school
and
it's
a
safe
learning
environment.
So
exactly.
A
Thank
you
very
nice
to
see
him.
Okay,
let's
move
on
to
section
five
closed
session
declarations
we'll
be
taking
items
5.02
and
5.03
and
to
close
session.
A
Any
person
who
wishes
to
address
the
governing
board
on
session
agenda
items
only
must
complete
and
submit
an
aesd
speaker
request
form
five
minutes
before
the
meeting
is
called
to
order.
Public
comments
will
only
be
taken
on
agenda
items
during
the
discussion
of
those
items.
The
board
values
public
comments
and
although
the
Board
of
Trustees
cannot
take
action
and
discuss
items
not
on
the
agenda,
the
Board
of
Trustees
listings
carefully
and
appreciate
input
from
the
public.
A
Additionally,
a
public
speaker
can
be
cut
off
for
exceeding
the
allotted
time
or
for
willfully,
causing
an
actual
disruption
to
the
meeting
before
cutting
a
person
off
or
removing
someone.
The
board
will
give
at
least
one
clear
warning
if
you
were
cut
off
are
warned
last
time.
Please
consider
that
your
warning
individual
speakers
are
allowed
three
minutes
to
address
the
board
on
each
closed
session
items.
A
The
board
limits
the
total
time
for
public
input
on
each
item
to
20
minutes
with
board
consent.
The
president
may
increase
or
decrease
the
time
allowed
for
Public
Presentation,
depending
on
the
topic
and
the
numbers
of
persons
wishing
to
be
heard.
The
president
may
take
a
poll
of
speakers
for
or
against
a
particular
issue
and
may
ask
that
additional
person
speak
only
if
they
have
something
new
to
add.
A
Moving
on
to
section
6.01
or
6.02
Mr
Krause,
do
we
have
any
representatives
from
a
DTA
that
would
like
to
speak?
Yes,.
G
Madam
president
on
Zoom
we'd
like
to
welcome
Miss
Jennifer
Rader
Mr
Sinatra,
if
you
could
ask
her
to
on
mute
at
this
time.
Thank
you.
A
L
A
L
Great,
let
me
get
my
I've
got
my
notes,
Here.
My
video
is
not
coming
up
I,
don't
know
why
today,
oh
there,
it
is
okay,
hi
hi
good
evening
trustees,
Mr
Krause
cabinet
teachers
and
the
public
on
Zoom
I
hope
everyone's
enjoying
a
good
summer,
I'm
coming
to
you
tonight
from
Sunny
Sacramento,
where
this
the
heat,
the
heat,
is
rising.
L
L
I
also
appreciate
very
much
when
everyone
scrambled
to
get
the
curriculum
planning
teachers
the
correct
pay
with
our
mou.
Thank
you,
Mr
Krause.
Thank
you,
ivetti.
Thank
you.
Dr
dwyzen
I
appreciate
all
your
efforts
very
much
I
know
the
teachers.
Do
too
I'm
very
disappointed
that
we
said
goodbye
again
to
another.
Cabinet
member
I
feel
very
strongly
that
consistency
and
transparency
are
needed
for
a
district
to
continue
to
grow
and
improve,
and
when
we
have
a
proverbial
revolving
door,
it's
difficult
to
achieve
that
consistency,
as
we
were
unaware
of
the
circumstances
of
this
change.
L
We
again
suffer
from
a
lack
of
transparency.
I
understand
that
there's
going
to
be
a
second
reading
of
our
new
cell
phone
policy.
I
would
ask
you
to
consider
very
carefully
how
that
policy
will
positively
affect
student
achievement.
Teachers
cannot
be
held
responsible
for
these
expensive
devices
and
too
much
learning
should
not
be
missed.
As
students
are
escorted
back
and
forth
to
the
office,
our
administrators
will
have
their
hands
full.
Managing
this
I'll
be
honest,
I
haven't
read
the
policy.
L
L
Another
issue
is
a
civility
policy.
I
have
been
told
that
we
have
a
civility
clause
in
a
text
or
in
a
document
of
sorts
I've
never
seen
this,
but
it
is
very
important
that
we
put
one
in
place
as
you
redo
the
board
policies
and
in
the
coming
weeks
that
we
publicize
this
widely.
Please
consider
a
civility
policy
between
parents
and
teachers
and
among
staff
among
administrators
among
teachers.
So
we
would
have
a
guideline
for
how
to
conduct
business,
especially
when
conflict
arises.
Conflict
is
unavoidable,
but
courtesy
and
consideration
are
always
an
option.
L
As
you
indicated,
Mr
Krause
kindness
is.
The
key
I
have
seen
that
board
in
the
hallway
and
I
love
it.
We
all
work
together
and
life
is
too
short
to
endure
a
workplace
that
is
tensor
unfriendly
and,
as
I've
already
mentioned
before,
we
also
need
a
strict,
civility
expectation
for
students.
I
will
reiterate
my
concern
that
students
have
a
very
crude
and
rude
way
of
speaking
to
adults.
That
needs
to
be
addressed
and
it
needs
to
be
addressed
quickly.
L
If
we
don't
start
the
school
year
on
a
firm
footing,
we
will
be
in
the
same
condition.
We
were
last
year
with
the
students
addressing
the
teachers
in
an
incredibly
disrespectful
Manner
and
security
too,
and
principles
that
everyone
is
is.
This
is
the
object
of
this
horrible,
behavior
and
horrible
language.
L
Yes,
there
may
be
a
lot
of
suspensions
at
the
beginning
of
the
year
and,
yes,
that
will
affect
our
Ada,
but
I
do
think
this
is
a
price
worth
paying
it's
an
investment
at
the
beginning
that
will
pay
off
in
the
end,
for
the
respect
that
we
are
due.
Other
districts
do
not
tolerate
it.
Snowing
just
next
door
does
not
tolerate
it.
The
Ron,
Clark
Academy
doesn't
tolerate
it
and
I
know
you
like
to
use
them
for
a
model,
so
it
would
be
Hooves
to
adopt
these
respect
requirements
in
other
news
curriculum.
L
L
We
still
haven't
seen
anything
for
our
classrooms,
our
TK
classrooms,
even
though
the
district
got
half
a
million
last
year
and
is
supposed
to
be
getting
700
000
this
year
and
the
money
is
earmarked
specifically
to
TK.
So
that's
a
conversation
I'm
going
to
be
having
with
them
with
Dr,
dwyze
and
I
I
I
know
there
are
things
in
the
works,
but
our
teachers
are
feeling
they're
feeling
forgotten.
L
I'm
gonna
go
out
on
a
limb
and
say:
I
know
that
things
are
happening
on
the
district
side
and
I
know.
Dr
Verizon
is
doing
everything
appropriately,
but
I
will
say
that
our
teachers
have
come
to
me
many
times
and
said
they.
Don't
they
don't
know
where
the
money
is
they
don't
know
where,
where
it's,
where
it's
coming
from
or
what's
what's
happening
with
it
all
right
and
that's
really
all
I
have
for
tonight.
I
want
you
to
think
I
want
to.
L
Thank
you
all
again
for
all
you
do
for
our
district
and
I
appreciate
very
much
that
you
that
the
management
is
going
on
a
retreat
to
do
some
training
and
some
discussing
of
all
these
policies.
I
think
Mr
Krause
had
a
fabulous
presentation.
I
want
to
thank
you
for
that
too,
and
any
questions
you
have
for
me.
Please
feel
free
to
email
me.
This
should
be
a
dialogue.
L
G
Madam
President,
we
do
have
Miss
Brenda
Congo,
who
is
in
and
they
want
to
if
they
asked
if
they
could
go
before
a
closed
session.
We
went
into
closed
session
because
they
have
a
student
that
needs
to
get
home
to
speak
on
a
it's
an
open
session
item,
but
they
requested
it.
So
your
discretion
to
allow
them
to
speak
or
not
of.
F
Good
evening
superintendent
Krause
an
executive
board,
School
Board
president
Le

and
trustees.
I
am

from

Academy
and
I'm
here,
to
express
my
appreciation
to
Mr
Krause
for
being
the
first
Adelanto
Elementary
School
District
superintendent,
to
attend
our
high
school
graduation
ceremony.
He
also
attended
our
eighth
grade
promotion
the
same
day.
F
I
have
mentioned
previously
that
talion
is
a
Dos
School
Das
stands
for
dashboard
alternative
school
status,
which
means
that
over
70
percent
of
our
students,
TK
through
12th
grade,
have
a
significant
area
of
need
that
they
must
overcome
to
progress.
Academically
88
of
teleon
students
qualify
under
one
or
more
of
these
categories.
The
highest
among
the
categories
are
habitually
truant
students
who
are
credit
deficient
and
have
a
high
level
of
transiency.

the
Western

of
schools

colleges,
also
known
as

and
have
recently
been
fully
credited
for
six

The
feedback
we
received
from
the
visiting
committee
was
that
artillion
staff
and
teachers
really
care
about
our
students
and
Families
as
we
provide
them
with
support.
They
need
to
be
successful,
teleon
school-wide,
learning
outcomes
are

O
Hello,
oh
there
we
go
all
right
good
evening,
distinguished
members
of
the
Adelanto
School
District
board,
superintendent
cross
and
assistant
superintendents.
My
name
is
Rhonda
Dennis
and
I'm.
O
O
We
are
asking
for
an
opportunity
to
converse
with
the
superintendent
and
the
ASD
board
members
to
determine
the
processes,
procedures
and
requirements
needed
to
to
acquire
authorization
to
operate
a
charter
school
here
in
the
Adelanto
School
District.
We
hope
that
you
will
consider
meeting
with
us
to
see
if
we
can
offer
the
children
of
our
community
and
help
ASD
provide
what
Mr
Krause
talked
about
earlier,
a
small
act
for
a
big
impact.
A
I
Ben's
eye
most
motion
to
approve.
C
A
French
eye
and
it's
approved,
moving
on
to
section
12
the
consent
agenda.
We
are
taking
items
12.02
through
12.38.
Does
any
trustees
want
to
pull
an
item.
D
B
Yeah,
oh
wait:
we
need,
did
we
motion
and
did
we
second?
No.
A
Can
I
get
a
motion
to
approve
the
rest
of
the
consent
agenda,
with
the
exception
of
12.36
Webster
eye.
A
B
I
Approve
12.36.
I
E
I
would
I
agree
with
trustee
Benz.
It
is
exciting
to
see
you
know
us
higher
within,
even
though
they
left
and
came
back
just
the
experiences
that
they
bring
to
the
district
is
incredible
and
I'm.
Looking
forward
to
your
service
serving
our
students
in
our
schools
and
congratulations,
even
though
we
haven't
bought
it
yet.
B
See
Webster
Webster
I
trustee
Turner
Turner
trustee,
bentz,
bansai,
Tracy,
La,
French,
love.
E
Could
you
could
they
stand
and
introduce
themselves
sure,
okay,.
A
B
A
B
I
I
just
want
wanted
to
say
thank
thank
you
for
for
the
teachers
who
are
put
put
Ting
in
this
x
extra
time.
I
know
that
there
there
are
a
lot
of
re
resource
sources
out
there
there
now
you
know,
you've
got
the
correct
curriculum.
You've
got
all
the
stuff
on
T
TPT
and
to
have
t
teachers
work
work
working
to
together
together
to
help
direct
them
and
to
help
nare
narrow
the
search.
So
they
don't.
You
know
they
aren't
due
to
doing
the
the
same
same
thing,
I
think,
is
a
great
eye
idea.
J
I
just
want
to
take
a
moment
to
extend
my
gratitude
to
the
teachers
who
did
participate
in
this
summer
program
or
our
curriculum
I
want
to
say
thank
you
to
our
cabinet
and
then
also
our
unions,
anytime.
We
do
an
mou
it.
A
E
Turner,
yes,
I
agree
with
my
fellow
Trustees
for
teachers
to
give
up
their
summer
for
this
period
of
time
from
basically
just
a
week
out
of
school
until
the
end
of
July
is
a
commitment.
I
was
able
to
witness
some
of
the
work
that
was
being
done
during
summer
school.
They
had
a
couple
of
classrooms
and
you
know
I'm
just
so
excited
I.
Don't
remember
us
ever
doing
this
before
and
I
know
that
our
district
is
in
the
on
the
right
path.
E
You
know
moving
forward
and
I
want
to
thank
our
academic,
Services,
Department,
Dr,
dewaison
and
her
team.
You
know
for
putting
together
this
this
committee
and
also
superintendent
Krause
I'm,
so
excited
I'm,
just
excited
about
you
know
everything
that's
about
to
take
place
and
things
that
are
taking
place
and
I'm
looking
forward
to
us
to
continue
to
move
forward,
and
thank
you.
A
I'm
grateful
and
thankful
for
the
district
pushing
forward
and
the
collaboration
that
the
teachers
took
their
time
out
this
summer
in
order
to
accomplish
things,
I
appreciate
it
for
the
vote.
C
A
I
I
do
have
some
concerns.
Still
you
know,
I've
been
chewing
on
on
this
anime
Mahal
Kane
came
out
and
they
have
brought
brought
up
some
things
about
about
it
and
I
kind
of
agree
with
them.
A
little
bit.
I
think
it's
in
in
the
the
a
word
wording
that
I
think
that
it
it
will
give
enough
sleep.
I
You
know
just
enough
room
to
have
kids
slip
in
with
the
tech
technicality
like
where,
where
it
says
you
know,
buff
before
for
for
school
be
begins,
and
after
the
the
array
regular
school,
it
says
says
that
they
they
may
use
their
self
cell
phone
smart,
watches,
page
pagers,
that's
so
fun
funny
and
other
other
mo
mobile
com.
Commune
communication,
div
device
devices
both
both
for
for
school
B,
begins
and
after
the
regular
school
school
day
ends.
I
I
really
think
that
they
should
should
not
be
be
allowed
on
campus
BB,
because,
if
kids
are
on
Camp
campus
buff
before
school
actually
starts
they're
going
to
be
on
those
phones
do
doing
the
things
that
we
don't
want.
One,
you
know
don't
think
that
they
they
should
do
and
the
same
same
thing
goes
that
they'll
be
like
right
right
right
off
after
school.
You
know,
I
think
there
there
should
be
a
stipulation
that
on
school
grounds
they
are
not.
Oh,
oh,
oh
allowed,
because
then
you've
got
that
Tech
technicality.
I
Well,
it's
Tech
technically
before
for
school,
and
then
we're
gonna
have
to
be
like
well
I
guess
it
is
I.
Don't
know
that!
I
That's
how
I
feel
about
about
that
and
then
also
where,
where
it
says
on
two,
when
it
says
that
how,
however,
a
a
stu
students
shall
not
be
Pro
prohibited,
and
then
it
lists
one
two
three
and
four
two,
when,
when
a
teacher
or
at
admin,
ministrator
grants
per
permit
mission
to
to
the
the
astute
student
to
possess
or
use
a
mo
mobile
communication
device,
subject
to
any
reasonable
limb
limitation
imposed
by
that
t,
teacher
or
ad
admin
administrator.
So
what
circumstance
is
this?
I
Four
four:
two,
because
then
I
I
think
that
one
one
t
teacher
may
say
well
sure
just
use
your
your
phones
in
class
for
this
and
then
the
next
one
says
no,
and
it
may
cause
confusion
with
the
kids.
So
I
think
we.
We
have
to
be
a
little
bit
more
but
specific
to
Encompass
that,
because
again,
it's
going
to
cause
confusion
and
it's
going
to
cause
a
tech
technicality
and
and
what
what
one
t
teacher?
I
Oh,
oh,
oh
allows
in
one
class
the
next
one
may
not,
and
then
that
will
create
issues
for
that
teach
teacher,
because
of
course,
I
I
I
can
hear
the
kids
saying
well
so
so,
and
so
let
lets
me
so
that
that's
where
I
have
an
issue
and
then
one
I
just
had
a
question
on
on
the
on
the
SEC
second
page,
where
the
the
bullet
bullet
point.
I
If,
if
if
a
stu
student
can
continue
to
not
meet
expectations
of
policy,
the
Stu
students
shall
have
his
or
her
cell
cell
phone
privileges
re
revoked
for
the
remained
remainder
of
the
semester
or
school
year,
and
does
that
mean
that
they
won't
be
able
to
bring
their
phones
to
school,
they'll
kind
of
technically
they're
not
supposed
to.
A
I
too,
bins
think
that
we
need
to
revisit
this
because
there
is
I
have
a
hard
time
with
also
that
the
employee
shall
store
the
device
securely
until
it
is
returned
to
the
principal
designee
are
appropriate
when
a
device
is
confiscated,
the
students
shall
have
it
returned
at
the
end
of
the
day.
A
I,
don't
I,
don't
really
I,
don't
want
teachers
being
responsible
for
someone's
two
thousand
dollar
phone
when
we
started
talking
about
the
policy
for
the
cell
phones,
I
continue
to
bring
up
the
fact
that
I
think
that
the
cell
phones
is
a
complete
distraction
and
I,
don't
know
what
we
want
to
do
as
far
as
but
I
wanted
more
of
a
punitive
as
far
as
the
parents
being
held
responsible,
so
I
wanted.
A
If
you
have
a
cell
phone,
for
example
and
you're,
are
telling
the
teacher
that
you're
not
going
to
I
mean
you're
going
to
continue
to
use
the
cell
phone,
then
it
should
be
a
some
sort
of
a
suspension
whether
it's
in-house
the
parents
should
have
to
come
pick
that
phone
up
it
should
be
put
on
the
parents
to
help
with
the
cell
phone
issue,
because
the
parents
are
saying
that
you're
touching
my
child's
back
pocket
or
you're
touching
my
child's
phone
I
bought
this
phone.
This
phone
is
coming
to
school.
A
It's
been
a
distraction
for
not
only
the
child,
but
for
the
other
students
that
are
coming
to
school
to
learn
so
I
think
that
we
should,
even
though
I
know
that
we
wanted
to
push
to
get
this
out
before
school
started,
we
need
to
revisit
it
again
and
I
know
we
revisit
again
and
again,
but
there's
some
tweaking
that
we
still
need
to
do
I
vote
to
table
it.
G
Thank
you,
Madam
president.
Thank
you,
trustee
Benz
for
your
comments.
We
recently
created
a
committee
of
two
board
members
that
could
also
potentially
look
at
this
in
the
future
and
bring
back
some
changes
to
the
full
board
and
if
we
don't
implement
it
by
the
time
school
starts
on
August
7th,
we
could
maybe
tweak
it
and
perhaps
look
at
implementing
it
in
January
after
the
winter
break
is
over.
G
So
that's
another
option
for
the
board
to
consider,
and
that
would
give
us
time
to
also
staff
to
bring
back
some
other
options
for
the
board.
The
language
that
we
do
have
before
you
this
evening
comes
from
csba
who
the
legal
counsel
looks
at
it
and
they
in
a
generic
language
that
the
board
has
the
opportunity
to
tweak,
as
you
stated
that
you
would
like
to
see
as
well,
and
so
there
is
a
broad
swath
of
information
that
we
could
bring
back
to
the
board
for
consideration
related
to
this
policy.
I
Could
could
could
we,
we
approve,
prove
it,
but
it's
still
a
prime
priority
and
then
bring
bring
it
back
to
BB
tweaked
with
those
ish
issues
that
that
were
brought
brought
up.
Madame.
B
You
can,
but
if
you
prove
it
tonight,
as
is,
it
has
to
be
followed,
the
way
that
it
is
until
it
gets
changed.
So
you
might
want
to
reconsider
and
maybe,
like
trustee
president
La
French,
just
bring
it
back
and
then
make
those
changes
so
that
it
is
effective.
As
of
that.
E
C
E
I
have
a
comment
I.
This
is
a
very
sensitive
subject
with
the
cell
phones
and
I
agree
that
cell
phones
are
distraction,
but
you
know,
in
terms
of
our
case
of
an
emergency
I
know
that
parents,
some
parents,
want
to
send
cell
phones
with
their
children
and
I.
Basically,
don't
blame
them.
You
know,
especially
when
our
schools
are
being
shot
up.
E
However,
when
looking
to
modify
this
policy,
I
would
like
trustee
Webster
and
myself
was
on
the
900
committee
to
look
at
the
900
policies.
So
we
can
look
at
this
one,
but
I
would
like
all
recommendations
from
trustees
while
we're
looking
at
this,
so
we
can
bring
in
all
of
your
recommendations
and
suggestions,
as
well
as
what
legal
ramifications
that
we
need
to
follow.
E
I
agree.
Teachers
should
not
have
to
babysit
cell
phones,
I
mean
because
if
something
gets
broken
you
know
then
they're
responsible
or
the
school
is
responsible
and
the
district
should
not
be
responsible
for
a
cell
phone
and
what
all
the
different
things
that
has
transpired
in
the
past.
Regarding
cell
phones
I
understand
that
it's
a
it's
a
certain
situation,
so
we
need
to
really
look
at
it.
I
agree.
We
should
table
this
and
maybe
have
a
discussion,
have
maybe
have
a
workshop
on
it.
Where
we
can
all
talk
about
it
and.
A
Even
a
committee
where
we
will
include
a
principal
include
a
teacher
include:
we
need
a
this
policy
is
so
important
and
we
have
been
going
through
trying
to
vet
that
we
need,
maybe
just
like.
We
need
a
committee
to
have
some
input
from
the
people
that
are
on
the
front
line.
I
know
that
I
talk
to
many
teachers
and
as
a
teacher
former
teacher
myself,
I
don't
want
to
be
responsible
for
anybody's
cell
phone
and
I
definitely
do
not
want
to
say.
Okay,
give
me
your
phone
and
then
have
a
student
say.
A
You
can't
have
my
phone,
because
my
mama
said
you
can't
touch
this
I,
don't
I,
don't
I,
don't
want
that
kind
of
confusion.
I
just
wanted
to
be
known
to
the
parents
that
if
your
child
I
don't
know
what
the
wording
is,
but
if
your
child
is
violating
this
policy,
then
you
don't
have
to
come.
Get
your
phone
right.
E
What
is
expected,
what
is
you
know,
what
is
allowable?
What
is
not
allowable
and
and
I
agree
a
workshop.
E
You
know
well
special
meeting
where
we
could
sit
down
and
really
discuss
this
and
I
agree
with
that
teachers
and
and
administrators
principles
should
be
included.
So
instead
of
the
900
policy
committee,
looking
at
it,
we
we
can
do
a
workshop
and
settle
it.
At
that
point,
everybody.
B
So
Madam
president,
what
I
have
right
now
you
did
say
that
you
wanted
to
substitute
this
motion,
so
I
do
have
a
first
from
president
La
French
and
that's
to
create
a
committee
to
review
the
policy
and
do
a
workshop
and
we
will
be
taboring.
This
item.
B
A
E
A
motion
that
we
go
into
discussion.
E
Okay
and
we,
this
policy
is
a
it's
a
revision
to
a
current
policy
that
we
currently
have
and
there's
been
some
updates
to
this,
and
it
says
the
type
of
student
property
that
can
be
searched
by
school
officials,
including
not
limited
to
Locker
States
versus
backpacks
student
Vehicles,
parked
on
District
property,
a
student
personal
electronic
device,
maybe
search
only
if
the
school
officially
good.
They
believe
that
an
emergency
involving
danger
or
death
of
a
physical
or
physical
injury
to
the
student
or
others
requires
accidents.
Now.
Will
this
search
who's
ever
searching?
G
So
the
practice
will
be
the
administrator
of
the
school
in
conjunction
with
potentially
law
enforcement,
if
it's
something
that
may
warrant
law
enforcement
to
also
be
present
depending
on
the
circumstances,
but
it
generally
it's
the
administrator.
With
a
student
present.
We
notify
parents
first,
that
we
do
any
kind
of
search
of
a
property
whether
it's
backpacks,
whether
it's
cell
phones,
whatever
have
you.
So
unless
again
it's
an
emergency,
immediate
emergency
or
potential
emergency,
then
we
would
have
to
search
it
immediately.
G
If
we
were
made
aware
that
there
potentially
is
a
weapon
on
campus
to
that
effect,
but
we
would
still,
at
the
same
time,
try
to
reach
the
parent
at
the
same
time
to
mitigate
whatever.
Potentially
there
is
a
threat,
but,
for
instance,
if
we're
made
aware
that
there's
cigarettes
or
vape
pen,
we
would
definitely
reach
out
to
the
parent
Guardian
on
file
and
let
them
know
from
the
administrator
and
that
administrator
would
then
conduct
the
search
along
with
there's
always
two
people.
Okay,
in.
D
G
It's
a
security
guard,
an
administrator
whether
it's
a
and
again
depending
on
the
circumstance.
If
it's
a
female,
then
it's
only
females
in
there,
for
example,
that
do
these
searches.
And
what
have
you
so
we
take
great
care
to
ensure
that
there's
a
transparency
and
that
there
is
more
than
one
set
of
eyes
in
the
event
of
any
kind
of
search.
E
Can
we
modify
this
policy
to
include
that
that
the
student
there
will
be
more
than
one
person
searching
the
student
s
well.
I
I
agree
because
we
just
you
know
that
the
thing
that
I
would
worry
about
is
that
it
it
it's
not
not
you
uniform
across
the
Addis
district
and
one
one
person
may
get
upset
and
just
search
and
not
fall.
Follow
Pro
protocol
and
I
got
to
make
sure
that
you
know.
We
need
to
make
sure
that
that
the
pro
protocol
and
the
Paul
policy
is
being
followed
to
the
let
LED
or
two
of
avoid
you
know.
Al
allegations
or
lit
litigation.
B
E
Now,
with
this
board
policy
is,
is
there
going
to
be
administrative
regulation
to
two
companies
to
see
to
talk
about
how
we're
going
to
go
about
doing
it?
Because
this
is
just
the
policy,
but
the
administrative
regulation
will
spell
out.
Yes.
G
Madame
we
can
look
at
bringing
that
back
and
it's
my
recommendation,
members
of
the
board,
that
we
table
this
item
as
well
this
evening
in
lieu
of
further
discussion
and
then
bring
it
back
at
the
same
Workshop,
potentially
that
we
would
bring
back
the
board
policy
on
mobile
devices
that
we.
B
A
A
Trustee
Webster
we
didn't
ask
for
if
you
had
any
oh
and
put
I'm
sorry
trustee
Soto,
do
you
have
any
input.
C
I
I,
don't
at
the
moment
I
was
cutting
in
and
out
through
the
meeting.
I
agree
with.
All
of
you
guys.
Thank
you.
B
I
I
actually
have
nothing
to
report.
It's
been
a
world
wind
of
the
month
for
me.
First
personally,
with
just
viz
is
visiting
my
son
and
now
I'm
just
trying
to
get
get
my
own
classroom
ready
so
and
that's
it
so
I
just
hope
that
EV,
everyone
is
have
have
having
a
rest
restful
summer
and
I
wish
wish
you
luck
on
the
new
school
school
year.
A
Thank
you,
trustee
Soto.
E
Okay,
I
was
excited
and
honored
to
be
able
to
attend
the
national
recognition
of
schools
to
watch
recognizing
Melvin
Davis
Academy
of
Excellence
Melvin
Davis
was
one
of
36
middle
schools
in
the
entire
State
of
California
to
receive
this
prestigious
award,
the
team
did
the
the
team
did
some
extraordinary,
but
did
an
extraordinary
presentation,
even
though
they
had
flight
problems
and
did
not
arrive
until
late
morning.
E
The
day
of
their
presentation
and
I
have
to
thank
Dr,
dewaison
and
Mr
Krause
for
contacting
the
committee,
the
convention
committee
to
push
back
their
starting
time,
so
they
were
able
to
present.
It
would
have
been
a
tragedy
that
if
they
had
come
all
that
way
and
wasn't
able
to
to
present
their
school
and
and
actually
just
to
celebrate
their
schools,
so
I
was
I'm
happy
that
we
were
able
to
do.
That.
I
would
also
like
to
thank
our
house
representative,
Joe
bonoti,
for
giving
us
pastors
to
visit
our
nation
capital.
E
It
was
a
great
experience
looking
at
the
history
of
our
country
and
the
massive
statues
of
people
who
made
a
tremendous
contribution
to
our
nation.
Visiting
the
old
Supreme
Court
was
just
amazing,
looking
at
the
history
that
took
place
in
that
in
that
building,
but
most
impressive
were
paintings
of
students
from
all
over
the
nation.
E
I
was
able
to
visit
all
sites
in
the
last
day
of
summer.
School
and
I
was
very
impressed
with
the
feedback
regarding
the
summer
school
curriculum
and
I
would
like
to
thank
the
academic
services
department
for
providing
that
curriculum,
because
pretty
much
everyone
just
came
up
to
us
so
excited
that
you
know
the
kids
loved
it,
they
loved
it
and
it
made
summer
school
a
great
success.
E
I
was
also
happy
to
see
teachers
dancing
with
the
students
and
playing
games.
This
is
the
last
day
of
school,
with
music
playing.
It
was
just
a
happy
feeling
to
see
that
that's
something
that
we
witnessed
at
the
Ron
Clark
Academy,
music
playing
and
students
smiling,
and
everyone
smiling
and
having
a
good
time.
So
that
was
that
brought
a
smile
to
my
face
and
and
to
see
the
kids
really
excited
for
being
there,
and
that
was
at
Braddock.
E
I
also
want
to
congratulate
again
Mona
set
Mona
Sienna
for
her
impressive
scores,
even
though
they
have
not
officially
come
out
yet
in
language,
art
and
math
and
I
was
able
to
speak
with
her
at
the
summer
school,
and
we
talked
a
little
bit
about
her
approach
and
strategies
that
she
used
to
accomplish
these
remarkable
goals
and
I'm
so
happy
that
Dr
dewaison
and
her
team
is
on
it
because
there's
no
need
to
reinvent
the
will
if
something
is
working.
So
thank
you.
E
Dr
stewartz,
on
yeah
I
would
like
to
also
stress
that
over
the
years
that
a
positive
attitude
relieves
stress
on
your
body,
your
heart
and
your
brain
Mr
Krause
spoke
about
the
district's
Focus
cultivate,
created
kindness.
This
is
powerful
and
I
think
that
if
we
use
those
traits
and
and
stress
stress,
you
can't
eliminate
stress,
but
you
can
somehow
work
through
it
and
smile.
That
smile
goes
a
long
ways
and
negativity
creates
a
lot
of
health
problems.
So
we
can
take
it
upon
ourselves
to
approach
this
next
year
and
a
positive
environment.
E
A
positive
attitude
we
can
it'll
just
take
us
so
far.
I'm
really
excited
about
the
direction
that
the
district
is
headed.
You've
heard
me
say
that
and
I
just
want
to
thank
our
our
cabinet,
our
administrators,
our
teachers,
our
support
staff
for
I.T
Department.
We
couldn't
do
it
without
you,
our
kitchen
staff.
You
know
even
seeing
us
visiting
our
cafeterias
and
seeing
these
Busy
Bodies
working
and
preparing
the
meals
and
the
kids
loving
it.
E
So
we
had
to
love
our
kids
and
I
know
all
of
you
do,
because
if
you
didn't,
we
wouldn't
be
in
the
business
of
educating
kids
and
changing
their
lives.
So
with
that
being
said,
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you.
Everyone
we're
looking
forward
to
a
great
school
year
and
again
my
board.
It's
a
pleasure
working
with
all
of
you.
E
I
really
mean
that
it's
a
pleasure
working
with
every
single
last
one
of
you,
because
everyone
brings
something
unique
to
this.
To
this
day
and
I,
appreciate,
I
appreciate
that
and
I
appreciate
our
new
superintendent
he's
not
me
anymore.
E
I
appreciate
the
guidance
and
the
leadership
that
you're
leading
in
District.
So
thank
you,
Mr
Cross
and
our
cabinet
Dr
dwyzine
and
our
administrators
here
and
our
administrative
assistants.
We
couldn't
do
this
without
them.
Exonia
Yvonne
Yeti,
is
on
vacation.
Sandra
is
handling
personal
matters,
but
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
for
all.
You
do
and
all
you
give
to
this
district
and
our
students
and
thank
you,
man,
I'm
done.
A
D
J
All
righty
good
evening,
aesd,
friends
and
family
tuning
in
for
a
Webster
update
I,
do
want
to
take
a
moment
and
say
that
I
did
get
a
pleasure
of
sharing
the
moment
in
Washington
DC
with
our
Melva
Davis
team.
I
was
so
excited
to
see
them
present
at
schools
to
watch
and
get
the
recognition
for
being
a
school
that
really
is
making
every
day
differences
I
do
want
to
say
that
the
conference
itself
was
very
beneficial.
J
It
allowed
us
all
to
have
different
sites
into
what
other
schools
are
also
implementing
and
really
gave
us
a
chance
to
kind
of
reconnect
with
what
makes
School
great
so
I
do
want
to
say.
I
I
appreciate
the
opportunity
to
be
there,
the
education
that
I
was
able
to
obtain,
and
then
also
being
there
to
support
our
love
of
Davis
team.
J
I
No,
they
they
were
a
a
catch
up.
J
I
was
able
to
remain
elusive
until
the
third
school
okay
I
do
want
to
touch
a
bit
on
next
year's
slogan.
The
cultivate
creative
kindness,
I
I,
really
was
excited
to
see
this
come
to
our
board.
I
was
happy
to
hear
it
from
Mr
Krause.
When
we
went
over
my
agenda
this
this
past
weekend
and
I
say
it
because
we
we
spend
a
lot
of
time
trying
to
look
and
analyze
those
problems
around
us
and
sometimes
I.
J
Think
we
forget
to
be
appreciative
and
grateful
for
what
progress
we've
already
made
this
last
year
we
made
massive
stamps.
We
brought
pays
to
being
competitive
and
so
I
hope
next
year
moving
forward,
we
can.
We
can
spend
some
time
really
looking
at
how
we
can
do
better
for
our
kids
as
well.
So
I
do
look
at
that.
J
I
am
excited
for
welcome
backs
as
we
will
be
welcoming
management
and
then
all
staff
back
shortly
after
that
I
do
hope.
I
can
be
present
on
the
second
to
welcome
everybody
back
as
well
and
I
hope.
We
have
some
really
great
stuff
planned
for
that
day
and
food
after
that.
I
will
go
ahead
and
close.
My
comments
for
tonight
and
I
wish
everybody
safe
and
happy
travels
home
if
you
are
driving,
if
you're
on
Zoom
enjoy
the
rest
of
your
nights
and
thank
you
for
listening
to
ramble.
A
Okay,
well,
thank
you.
I,
concur
with
everything
that
my
fellow
trustees
has
said.
What
I
do
want
to
say
is
I'd
want
to
give
a
special
thanks
to
trustee
Webster
for
stepping
up
in
my
place
in
my
absence,
I
have
been
gone
for
probably
over
a
month.
I
greatly
appreciate
her.
A
Stepping
in
and
I
know
that
I
was
had
a
time
of
getting
out
of
here
at
8
30
because
she
has
been
on
the
ball.
So
I've
been
timing
myself,
but
I
do
appreciate
you.
Thank
you.
A
And
I
want
to
say
thank
you
to
the
rest
of
my
board
and
cabinet.
I
know
that
when
one
of
us
is
gone,
I
did
have
some
personal
things
going
on,
and
one
of
us
are
gone.
You
can
rest
assured
that
you
know
they
give
you
their
all,
and
it
was
not
that
I
wasn't
missed,
but
I
knew
that
you
know
that
they
would
continue
on
and
I
appreciate
everything
that
has
been
going
on
at
the
district
from
the
sidelines.
A
A
Not
just
you
know,
I'm
gonna
turn
in
the
email
here
or
do
this
or
do
that,
but
that
is
a
lot
of
weight
put
on
YouTube
and
I
really
really
really
really
really
appreciate
you
guys
and
taking
the
time
out
to
call
to
check
on
me
and
everything
that
you
have
going
on.
I
appreciate
it
Davis
congratulations!
I
was
not
able
to
attend,
but
I
heard
that
it
was
phenomenal.
Thank
you
very
much.
A
I
appreciate
and
congratulate
to
Melva
Davis
I
said
I
was
going
to
keep
this
short
I'm
going
to
say
one
more
thing:
I'm
going
to
say
that
I
challenge
all
of
us
in
here
out
there
who's
ever
listened
I
challenge
you
to
make
a
conscious
effort
to
be
kind
and
to
focus
on
the
things
that
are
positive
in
life.
I
always
come
up
here
and
I.
Try
to
lighten
it.
A
It's
not
that
I,
don't
know
who
Jonathan
is
I
apologize
right,
I
do
know
who
he
is
I
do,
however,
I
just
challenge
you
to
be
kind
to
one
another,
be
kind
to
us,
be
kind
to
your
co-workers,
be
kind
to
you're
the
children
that
you
serve
be
kind
to
our
community
and
we're
going
to
I'm
so
excited
about
the
new
school
year.
I
truly
am
and
I'm
looking
forward
to
it.
A
So
with
that
being
said,
if
there's
no
other
discussion,
my
favorite
part
foreign
8
29.,
okay,
moving
on
to
section
17,
a
German
trustees
can
I
get
a
motion
to
adjourn.
