G
Yes,
thank
you,
madam
president,
members
of
the
board
and
members
of
the
community
that
are
with
us
this
evening.
We
are
excited
to
recognize
our
employees,
who
have
been
with
us
at
least
10
and
15
years,
and
this
evening,
I'd
like
to
turn
over
to
Mr
Carlos
Moran,
our
assistant
superintendent
of
Human
Resources,
who
will
lead
the
recognition
this
evening.
H
Okay,
great
thank
you.
Mr
Krause
good
evening,
president
of
French
trustees,
cabinet
members
staff
see
we
have.
Students
and
guests
gives
me
great
pleasure
to
be
here
to
recognize
staff
of
the
Adelanto
Elementary
School
District,
who
have
devoted
their
careers,
enriching
the
lives
of
our
children
in
our
community.
Not
only
have
are
we
recognizing
them
tonight,
but
they've
also
supported
the
classified
and
certificated
colleagues
at
their
sites
or
in
their
departments.
So
it
gives
me
honor
to
present
and
recognize
that
many
employees
this
evening.
H
So
as
many
of
us
know,
the
annual
Service
Awards
is
part
of
a
tradition
and
recognition
of
gratitude
for
our
employees,
dedicated
employees
whose
accomplishments
and
outstanding
work
contribute
to
the
success
of
our
students,
teacher
staff
and
even
the
alumni
of
the
district.
So
tonight
we'll
be
honoring.
H
Who
receive
reached
milestones
at
10
years
and
15
years
and
I
know
we
did
this
earlier
this
year.
This
is
a
correction
that
we're
making
and
there
were
some
things
that
we
needed
to
correct,
and
so
we
missed
some
people,
so
we're
we're
catching
up
all
right,
so
I
know
I
had
HR
staff
hand
out
the
certificate
and
the
pin
that
the
employees
who
are
being
recognized
tonight
they
received
that
I
understand.
We
also
have
some
employees
who
are
on
zoom
and
so
they're,
not
here,
so
they
will
get
their.
H
We
will
be
sure
to
deliver
their
information,
I'm,
sorry,
their
certificate
and
their
pinned
to
their
department
or
school
site.
So
again,
the
Board
of
Trustees
would
like
to
honor
the
the
employees
on
the
who
have
served
10
years
in
the
district
and
so
I'm
going
to
go
ahead
and
name
them
right
now.
H
So
if
you
are
in
the
room,
if
you
wouldn't
mind,
please
standing
up
and
stay
standing
and
then
we'll
give
a
round
of
applause
and
acknowledge
you
and
and
all
of
you
and
then
after
that,
we'll
have
the
board
come
around
and
we'll
take
a
group
picture.
Okay,
so
I'm
going
to
start
with
the
10-year
anniversary,
Aaron
Alcazar
from
Gus
Franklin
custodian.
H
Lanali
Baker
CMS
teacher.
H
Angelica
nazbe
from
acelinda
paraprofessional.
I
I
H
Congratulations
and
I
know:
there's
there's
some
employees
who
are
on
Zoom
right
now:
okay,
so
we're
gonna
move
on
to
the
15th
a
year,
so
the
Board
of
Trustees
would
like
to
honor
employees
for
reaching
that
Milestone
of
15
years,
so
Isela
Alfaro
student,
Support,
Services
clerk,
three.
H
Sharon
edman
from
west
side
park,
Proctor.
H
Lori
Latimer
from
academic
Services,
coordinator
of
curriculum
and
instruction.
H
So
I
have
more
on
the
I.
Have
the
list
on
the
back
so
Jenna
leming
from
George
vappa
teacher.
H
H
A
Clerks
from
different
departments
that
have
served
our
ASD
family
I
want
to
say
that
I
appreciate
it's
hard
for
me
to
talk
about
my
glasses
on,
because
I
can't
see
someone
put
them
on
I
can't
see
what
them
are
without
them,
but
I
try
I
want
to
say
thank
you.
It
shows
the
dedication
that
you
guys
have
to
our
community
and
it's
appreciative,
I
appreciate
seeing
so
many
15
and
10
years
that
are
dedicating
their
life
to
to
our
school
district.
I
I,
greatly
appreciate
it.
A
I'll
start
off
with
trustee
turner:
oh
okay,.
J
Yes,
congratulations.
The
longevity
in
the
district
is
to
be
commended.
Just
a
couple
weeks
ago
we
celebrated
2025
and
there
was
a
big
crowd
just
like
this,
so
it
just
shows
your
dedication
to
the
children
and
the
staff
about
Atlanta
and
I
really
appreciate
that.
Thank
you.
A
C
Bins,
I
just
want
to
say
thank
thank
you.
You
know
it's
it
takes.
It
really
takes
a
lot
to
work
with
kids,
but
it's
like
a
past
passion.
You
know,
I
get
a
lot
of
I,
don't
know
how
you
you
do
do
and
do
it,
but
you
know
it's
kind
of
a
reciprocate,
though
I
know
I'm
sure
that
you
all
appreciate
your
breaks
as
much
as
I
do
when
they
come.
So
please
thank
thank
you
for
staying
with
with
us
and
love
loving
our
our
kids
each
each
year.
You've
been
been
here.
K
Thank
you,
madam
president.
I
don't
want
to
reiterate
what
my
colleagues
already
said,
but
but
I
do
want
to
say.
Congratulations,
so
I
look
forward
getting
to
know
you
guys
in
the
future
as
well.
Congratulations.
F
Good
evening,
all
and
I
want
to
thank
everybody
here,
who's
in
person
for
your
longevity
and
your
dedication
to
Adelanto
Elementary
School
District
I
do
believe
that
we
as
a
district,
especially
the
longevity
of
those
who
have
stayed
and
committed
to
our
students,
are
exactly
what
builds
the
pathway
for
our
students
to
become
great
and
I
just
want
to
say.
Thank
you
for
all
being
part
of
that.
A
Okay,
so
I
just
like
to
let
you
know
that
there's
cake
I
think
in
the
Fourier
over
there.
Please
have
some
and
let's
move
on
to
section
four
cabinet
reports:
Mr
Cross.
Oh,
we
did.
G
A
G
Madam
president
members
of
the
board,
members
of
the
community
we'd
like
to
welcome
Miss
Perry
up
here
this
evening,
to
talk
to
us
about
all
of
the
great
musical
programs
that
are
going
on
around
our
district
and
with
that
I'm,
going
to
turn
over
to
Miss
Perry
Anthony.
C
L
L
Okay,
so
the
first
half
of
the
Year
first
semester,
I'm
at
Victoria,
mcgathon
and
Ted
Vic
and
then
the
second
semester,
I,
move
on
to
Braddock
and
Eagle
Ranch.
L
The
music's
program,
music
programs,
there
include
General
music
for
the
primary
grade,
students
K
through
three
and
then
for
our
fourth
and
fifth
graders.
We
have
pull
out
programs
for
band
which
meet
twice
a
week,
and
then
we
also
have
a
keyboard
class
that
they
can
choose
to
take,
which
also
makes
twice
a
week.
L
The
primary
grades
curriculum
is
very
differentiated
by
the
grade
levels
in
kindergarten
and
first
grade.
We
just
start
with
very
basic
melodic
and
rhythmic
notation,
just
with
quarter
notes
and
eighth
notes,
rest
and
then
they
progress
to
more
complicated
rhythms.
L
For
our
melodic
notation,
we
use
Solfege
syllables
so
that
they
are
easily
sung
by
the
students,
so
they
can
attach
their.
What
they're,
seeing
to
the
sounds
that
they're
making
when
we're
seeing
our
scales
every
week,
we
also
go
through
the
hand
signal,
so
that
gives
them
a
concrete
movement
to
associate
it
with
it
as
well.
And
then
we
go
through
naming
our
notes
on
the
staff
and
they
learn
their
written
notation.
That
way.
L
In
kindergarten
and
first
grade,
we
also
do
listening
examples
as
part
of
our
curriculum,
so
they
get
exposed
to
exemplary
Works
by
composers
like
Vivaldi
Mozart,
Beethoven,
Gershwin,
Britain,
Offenbach
korskoff.
All
of
those.
We
also
incorporate
an
instrument
that
or
I
Incorporated
instrument
of
the
day
for
first
grade
to
help
them
start
to
orally
identify
the
instruments
and
then
to
be
able
to
classify
them
into
their
orchestral
families.
The
strings,
percussion,
Woodwinds
and
brass.
L
On
the
side,
we
have
some
students
from
tedvik
who
have
composed
a
composed,
a
rhythm
together
as
a
class,
and
we
performed
it.
We
do
a
lot
of
rhythms,
because
that
gives
them
a
way
to
start
understanding
the
idea
of
practice
that
we
don't
just
do
it
once
and
done,
but
we
have
to
do
it
again
and
again
we
do
composition,
they
do
it
as
individuals,
we
do
it
as
a
group
and
then
after
we
have
performed
them
several
times.
L
We
actually
go
through
revisions,
so
they
start
to
edit
their
music
and
then
towards
the
end
of
the
semester.
They're
able
to
do
simple
oral
dictation,
which
means
that
I
would
like
perform
a
rhythm
for
them,
clap
it
and
they
would
be
able
to
tell
them.
Tell
you
what
it
was
so
from
listening.
L
Okay,
so
they
start
with
the
scales,
but
it's
very
easy
for
them
to
quickly
memorize
the
order
of
the
notes
and
they
start
going
off
of
the
order
that
they're
in
instead
of
where
they
actually
are
on
the
stuff.
So
we
quickly
move
from
scales
to
songs
that
we
have.
They
come
up
and
name
the
notes
and
identify
them.
They
take
turns
and
they
get
experience
just
coming
up
and
practicing
that
and
then
afterwards
we
sing
the
songs
and
then
the
second
half
of
their
semester.
First
graders
move
on
to
keyboard.
L
One
part
of
kindergarten,
first
and
second
grade
music,
always
as
we
start
class
with
our
blackbirds,
it's
a
little
just
song
that
we
sing
to
help
introduce
maybe
new
vocabulary
or
terms
and
help
them
get
a
visual.
Why
I
like
demonstrate
what
the
Blackbird
would
do
and
then
they
sing
it
and
then
they
do
it
also
to
kind
of
hopefully
ingrain
in
them,
the
meaning
of
the
terms
that
they're
learning.
L
In
second
grade,
they
continue
to
develop
their
note,
reading
and
rhythms.
They
also
continue
their
listening,
but
their
listening
becomes
much
more
focused.
We
put
it
into
units,
they
start
with
the
piano
unit.
A
piano
tour
say:
listen
to
music
from
six
different
countries,
and
every
time
we
do
a
new
country,
they
get
a
little
stamp
in
their
music
passport.
L
And
we
talk
about
where
that
country
is
what
language
they
speak
there.
If
there's
any
kind
of
landmarks
that
need
to
be
mentioned,
that
they
should,
you
know,
definitely
know
about,
and
then
we
get
to
hear
music
from
a
variety
of
composers
and
then
different
formats
and
genres,
so
concertos
sonatas
duets,
after
that
they
get
five
weeks
of
keyboard,
the
second
graders
and
that's
where
they
start
to
play
some
of
the
songs
that
we
had
labeled
and
identified
earlier
in
the
semester,
but
in
the
semester
with
Story
music.
L
L
Austria
up
there,
so
the
kids,
who
they
colored
Austrian
Flags
when
we
listened
to
Mozart
and
then
the
first
graders.
We
have
their
Mozart
pictures
up
there
when
they
colored
and
they
listened
about
learned
about
Mozart
and
then
Germany,
some
German
flags
and
some
Beethoven
set
the
kids
Drew
and
then
there's
the
Solfege
hands
and
symbols
that
go
along
with
their
singing.
L
K
L
Okay
and
then
there's
some
pictures
from
our
Eagle
Ranch
keyboard
lab
that
we
just
got
certification
the
keyboard
lab
that
we
have
at
Eagle
Ranch.
The
second
graders
just
started
in
there
a
couple
of
weeks
ago,
so
we
took
some
pictures
of
them.
They
were
very
serious
and
focused
I
think
they
enjoyed
it
a
lot
too.
So
that
was
good.
L
Third
grade
it
gets
a
little
more
focused
a
little
more
serious.
We
do
a
lot
of
history.
We
focused
around
the
first
viennu
school,
which
is
Mozart
Hayden
and
Beethoven,
so
we
learned
a
biographical
information
about
them.
We
discussed
a
little
bit
of
SEL
what
it
would
be
like
to
be
them
as
children,
how
they
grew
up
and
what
those
conditions
would
be
like.
We
also
include
Schubert
there
because
he's
a
contemporary
of
Beethoven,
so
we
listened
to
that
at
the
end.
L
L
Second
half
of
the
semester
they
move
on
to
recorder,
which
is
a
really
good
way
for
them
to
decide
if
they
want
to
be
in
band
the
next
year,
because
that's
a
great
transition
to
the
flute,
the
clarinet
and
the
saxophone.
They
also
get
keyboard
which
again
lets
them
know
if
they
want
to
continue
with
that.
In
fourth
and
fifth
grade.
L
Oh
and
there's
some:
this
is
our
third
grade,
one
of
the
third
grade
classes,
with
their
bell
choir
playing
one
of
Haydn's
symphonies.
L
It
just
goes
on,
but
yeah
they
really
like
that
and
they
got
the
chance
to
practice
and
they
really
like
it
surprised
somebody
so
that
when
they
all
ring
their
Bells
at
once,
that's
the
surprise.
They
really
like
that.
L
All
levels
of
the
program
well
grade
levels,
I,
should
say:
incorporate
some
level
of
Technology.
We
use
Google
Classroom
a
lot
to
be
able
to
turn
in
assignments
for
them
to
access
materials
from
home
when
they
have
their
Chromebooks.
We
use
the
Chrome
music
lab
when
they
start
to
play
recorders.
We
also
started
a
little
bit
of
composition,
which
they
can
use
for
that
near
pods
and
allow
them
to
take
quizzes
and
do
quick
reviews
about
their
bum
biograph
biographical
information
that
they've
learned
and
the
flip
grids.
L
Let
them
perform
on
their
recorders
at
home,
so
they
want
to
share
their
performance.
They
might
not
have
time
to
get
to
everybody,
but
they
can
all
turn
in
a
video
at
home.
L
Okay,
so
banned
this
year,
the
Ted
Vic
band
and
the
Victoria
mcgassing
band.
They
both
performed
as
part
of
the
Christmas.
L
L
And
then
we
have
some
pictures
from
the
keyboard
class,
the
Victoria
mcgath
and
they
had
their
class
recital
so
that
they
were,
they
all
had
a
chance
to
come
up
and
play
a
song
so
again
just
to
get
used
to
performing
used
to
coming
up
in
front
of
each
other
and
again
they
were
really
supportive
of
each
other.
It
was
really
nice
to
see,
even
though
they
you
know
some
kids
play
the
song.
We
learned
on
the
second
day
and
some
kids
played,
you
know
harder
stuff,
but
they
were
all
really
encouraging
of
each
other.
L
Last
is
the
study
trip
that
we
took.
We,
we
I,
keep
saying
we
yeah,
we
organized
a
trip
to
take
the
kids
to
the
San
Marino
Symphony,
some
of
the
fourth
and
fifth
graders
we
had
about
70
of
them
on
a
Saturday
night
and
I
cannot
thank
the
teachers
who
came
along
as
chaperones
on
Saturday
night
enough,
so
that
was
really
helpful
and
a
lot
of
them
are
here.
So
thank
them
again
for
that
too
I
hope
to
have
more
study
trips
next
year.
L
A
A
J
C
C
These
are
the
things
that
they
remember
the
most
when
they
played
with
the
bells
when
they
played
with
the
record
quarter,
and
you
know
hopefully
some
they
get
get
that
that
bite,
that
care
carries
them
through
adult
adultered
not
just
to
play,
but
just
to
know
it's
it's
nice
to
know
and
think
think.
Thank
you
so
much
for
work
working
with
with
their
kids,
especially
especially
the
little
ones.
You
know
you
got
aim
angel
wings
there.
So
thank
thank
you
very,
very
much.
K
F
I
just
want
to
take
a
moment
and
say
that
music
is
I,
think
such
an
essential
part
of
every
child's
growing
up
process.
It's
a
whole
nother
language.
It
helps
you
express
yourself
in
different
ways.
I
do
want
to
say
thank
you
very
much
for
being
part
of
that
and
influencing
our
students
every
day,
exposing
them
to
new
Pathways
and
new
ways
to
communicate.
So
thank
you
and
have
a
great
night.
G
Thank
you,
madam
president.
At
this
time
we'd
like
to
recognize
our
spelling
bee
participants
and
students
from
Ted
pick
Elementary
in
El,
Mirage,
school
and
I'm,
going
to
turn
it
over
to
Dr
dwyzon,
but
before
I.
Do
we'd
also
like
to
bring
up
Miss
Teresa
barias,
who
is
with
assembly
member
Juan
carrillo's
office,
because
she
also
has
some
special
recognitions
for
our
participants
and
with
that
Dr
dwyzen
I'll
turn
it
over
to
you.
G
O
A
O
So
it
is
my
extreme
honor
to
recognize
three
of
our
students
from
the
Adelanto
Elementary
School
District
this
evening,
who
advanced
to
the
County
Spelling
Bee.
So
before
I
say
anything
else.
I
want
to
give
a
moment
and
tell
you
what
they
had
to
get
through
to.
N
P
O
So,
first
at
the
school
site
you
guys
nod
with
me
if
I
messed
up
in
any
way,
but
first
at
the
school
site
they
had
a
school
spelling
bee
the
spelling
bee
each
school
had
their
own,
and
so
the
top
two
from
each
school
went
on
to
our
District
spelling
bee
that
was
held
at
Ted
Vic.
So
thank
you,
Miss
John
Milana,
for
hosting
and
so
from
there.
The
participants
who
went
there
also
were
able
to
participate
in
the
County
Spelling
Bee.
There
were
two
rounds
for
the
County
Spelling
Bee.
O
The
first
round
was
virtual
and
then
from
the
virtual
B.
Those
students
who
qualified
from
there
went
on
to
go
to
the
in-person
B,
which
was
held
on
in
March
15th
at
San
Bernardino
Valley
College.
So
we
have
some
honorees
tonight
because
out
of
the
whole
County,
we
have
some
very
important
people
that
we
wanted
to
recognize
this
evening.
So
the
first
participant
we
have
and
we'll
have
their
families
come
up
as
well.
First,
we
have
Leslie
Hernandez.
N
Q
R
You
so
much
for
having
me
come
out
on
the
behalf
of
assembly
member
Juan,
Carrillo
I
was
a
spelling
bee
Kid
myself,
I
actually
never
Advanced
past
the
school
level,
so
y'all
got
further
than
I
ever
had
and
I'm
so
proud
of
you
for
doing
it
on
the
behalf
of
assembly
member
Juan
Carrillo.
This
is
such
a
fun
way
of
demonstrating
your
skills
and
showing
that
you
care
that
you
are
excited
about
your
academics
and
you
think
it's
fun.
This
is
something
fun
that
you
did
and
that
you
found
success
in.
So
congratulations.
O
O
N
E
N
O
O
Thank
you
so
much
that
concludes
our
spelling
bee
certificate,
so
I
will
turn
it
back
over
to
president
Le
French.
So
thank
you.
Q
C
We're
starting
with
bets
now
first
thing:
I
want
to
say
how
impressed
when
I
spell
I
have
to
write
it
out.
I
couldn't
even
say
say
it
to
to
me:
that's
like
special,
special
brain
power.
So,
and
you
know
there
are
third
33
districts
in
in
our
account
County.
So
that's
a
lot
of
schools,
so
you
should
really
be
be
impressed
with
your
yourselves
okay
and
thank
thank
you
for
rep
represent
Zen
zenting,
your
your
schools
and
our
dist
District.
Thank
you.
K
F
F
J
Again,
congratulations
to
all
three
of
you
that
was
absolutely
outstanding
to
come
in
fifth
place
in
the
entire
County.
Keep
up
the
good
work
you
guys
are
amazing
and
and
don't
ever
forget
it
teachers!
Parents!
Thank
you,
because
I
know
that
you
played
an
important
role
in
that
as
well.
So
outstanding
I'm
really
impressed
congratulations.
A
Thank
you,
okay,
I'll
say
it
shortly.
I
know
that
we
always
say
congratulations
to
the
parents,
to
the
teachers.
You
guys
support
system,
but
I
really
say
congratulations
and
so
excited
for
you
as
the
students,
because
for
you
to
stand
there
and
spell
words
that
I
will
say
Google.
Can
you
spell
this
for
me
and
I
always
say
to
myself?
A
A
Thank
you
to
you
having
the
being
able
to
stand
there
and
to
and
to
enter,
and
to
spell
the
words
you
know,
sometimes
I
get
up
here
and
I'm
nervous
every
single
Tuesday
that
I'm
up
here,
but
to
be
able
to
stand
in
front
of
people
and
spell
words
and
do
it
with
confidence.
Somebody
shook
my
hand
I,
don't
remember
which
one
it
was
and
I
said
to
myself.
Wow
the
shaking
of
the
hand
showed
confidence
in
itself.
I
want
to
thank
you
for
all
of
this,
that
you
do.
Thank
you
to
the
our
students.
G
Thank
you,
madam
president,
members
of
the
board
good
evening,
everyone
that's
with
us
in
person
and
everyone
out
there
in
Virtual
land,
first
off
I'd
like
to
welcome
our
newest
trustee
trustee
Miguel
Soto
Jr
to
the
dice
this
evening,
and
we're
excited
to
have
him
on
board
and
looking
forward
to
working
with
him
as
we
move
forward,
and
so
just
wanted
to
start
off
with
that
we
had
the
privilege
today
of
trustee
Turner
and
I
went
down
to
the
Rotary
Club
of
Victorville
and
presented
on
the
state
of
the
district,
and
so
we
were
able
to
do
a
presentation
on
our
district
and
how
we're
doing
and
and
had
a
q
a
session
with
them
at
The
Rotary
Club.
G
G
This
week
as
I'm
sure
Dr
dwyzen
will
will
talk
about
in
a
second,
we
have
started
our
state
testing
as
of
Monday.
So
that's
ongoing
and
I
know
that's
always
a
anxious
time
of
the
year,
but
I
know
her
and
her
team
are
working
with
all
of
our
sites
on
that.
She'll
probably
have
more
to
mention
on
that.
So
thank
you.
Dr
dwyzen
for
you
and
your
team
on
that.
G
We're
also
working
on
some
more
job
fairs
and
Mr
Moran
and
his
team
and
HR
I
want
to
thank
them
for
all
the
hard
work
that
they
do
as
well
to
help
facilitate
our
hiring
processes.
I
know
that
we
have
vacancies
on
the
classified
management
and
certificated
side,
and
so
we
are
definitely
looking
to
fill
those
as
quickly
as
possible.
So
I
just
wanted
to
shout
out
to
Mr
Mann
and
his
team
for
that
all
the
hard
work
that
they
do,
helping
us
for
that.
G
Thank
you
to
all
of
our
people
tonight
that
were
recognized
for
the
years
of
service,
10
and
15
years
and
I
know
we've
done
20
and
25
years
in
30
years
and
we'll
continue
to
do
these
celebrations,
because
it's
very
important
that
you
get
recognized
and
you
know
to
me
it's
not
just
once
a
year.
It's
every
day
of
the
year,
because
all
the
hard
work
I
look
at
in
the
audience
and
I
see
all
of
our
teachers
out
here
are
classified
staff.
G
Our
managers-
and
you
know
know
to
me
every
day,
is
a
day
to
celebrate
all
the
work
that
you
all
do
on
a
daily
basis.
So
let's
give
you
all
a
round
of
applause
if
I
can
right
now
for
all
of
the
hard
work
that
you
do
on
a
daily
basis,
so,
but
we
do
appreciate
your
years
of
service
and
dedication
to
our
district.
That's
just
amazing
to
see
when
we
see
10,
15,
20,
25
and
30
years,
so
appreciate
that
shout
out
to
our
spelling
bee
winners.
G
You
know
I
I'm,
just
so
excited
that
we
have
people
that
are
so
smart
that
I,
sometimes
you
know
there
used
to
be
the
show
smarter
than
a
fifth
grader,
I.
Think
I,
don't
know
if
you
ever
saw
it
but
I'd
watch
that
and
just
be
amazed.
But
you
know
we
have
so
many
smart
students
in
our
district
and
and
our
teachers
are
really
the
backbone
of
helping
them
get
to
where
they're
at
so
I
want
to
thank
all
the
teachers
that
worked
with
them.
G
The
administrators
Dr
Ward
from
El
Mirage,
Mrs
Milano
from
Ted
Vic
to
support
them
and
the
parents
as
well,
and
what
they
do
so
we're
excited
to
see
them.
We
know
we're
gonna
have
many
more
spelling
bee
winners
as
we
move
forward.
G
One
of
the
things
that
we've
also
talked
about
at
the
last
board
meeting
is
school
safety
and
I
want
you
to
NOAA.
We
are
taking
many
actions.
Looking
at
our
board
policies
related
to
schools,
school
safety,
we
have
our
buzzer
systems
in
place,
we're
also
reviewing.
They
have
I,
don't
know
if
you've
seen
them,
but
nowadays
they
have
some
pretty
schmancy
metal
detectors
that
are
not
like
your
old
school
ones.
G
We're
looking
at
that
to
see,
if
that's
an
option,
to
bring
before
the
board
for
consideration
we're,
also
scheduling,
active
shooter
training
on
Saturday,
April
29th
for
our
staff
and
so
we're.
We
have
a
company
that
will
be
coming
in
and
doing
actual
live
drills,
not
with
live
ammunition
but
live
drills
on
active
shooter
training
to
help
our
staff
get
a
better
understanding
of
what
to
do.
Should
that
ever
happen.
You
know
every
time
I
turn
on
the
news.
It's
unfortunate.
G
They
just
had
a
shooting
in
and
I
think
Kentucky
had
a
bank,
and
so
you
know
I
think
about
that.
Every
time
and
and
I
know
that
I
can
tell
you
our
board
and
our
staff
are
dedicated
to
ensuring
the
safety
of
all
of
our
staff
and
students,
and
we
are
looking
at
our
policies
related
to
cell
phone
use.
As
an
example
of
of
you
know,
school
safety
as
well
so
a
lot
of
things
coming
down
the
pipeline,
but
we
do
take
it
seriously
and
we
welcome
your
feedback.
G
If
any
of
you
out
there
have
ideas
on
how
we
can
improve
school
safety
at
your
school.
Maybe
you've
seen
something
you've
heard
about
something:
I,
encourage
you
to
email,
myself
or
cabinet,
Mr,
Moran
or
Dr
dwison
and
we'd
be
more
than
happy
to
look
into
that.
So
I
just
wanted
to
say
that
and
then
Alaska,
but
not
least,
you
know
this
evening.
We
had
Ted
Williams
recognized
tonight
for
all
of
his
hard
work
and
dedication
as
electrician.
But
I
want
to
give
a
shout
out
to
our
m
o
Department.
G
You
may
have
noticed
over
spring
break.
They
did
a
lot
of
cosmetic
work.
We
had
some
of
our
parking
lots
re-striped
a
lot
of
our
grounds.
You'll
see
the
grass
growing
Greener
now
that
the
spring
is
here
and
we're
going
to
be
looking
at
planting
more
trees
in
places
where
there
were
trees,
and
so
I
want
to
give
a
shout
out
to
our
m
o
team
because
they
really
do
an
extraordinary
job.
G
Behind
the
scenes
I
drive
around
at
six
in
the
morning
they're
already
out,
there
mowing
the
Lawns
they're
already
out
there
fixing
the
sprinklers
whatever
they
need
to
do,
and-
and
you
know,
but
just
our
whole
team
in
mno-
really
helps
keep
the
backbone
of
our
operations
going.
So
thank
you
to
them
and
with
that
I
want
to
turn
it
over
now
to
Dr
dwyzen.
Thank
you.
O
Thank
you
so
much
Mr
Krause
good
evening
board
president
love,
French,
Board
of
Trustees
and
all
aesd
staff
and
Community
this
evening,
I'm
pleased
to
share
with
you
some
of
our
highlights
from
the
academic
services
division.
So,
first
of
all,
yes,
testing
did
begin
yesterday
and
that
will
conclude
on
May
10th,
so
I
just
want
to
give
a
big
reminder
to
our
parents
listening
at
home
or
in
the
audience.
Please
make
sure
your
students
are
here
on
time
and
in
time
for
breakfast
so
that
they
can
do
their
best
get
plenty
of
sleep
at
night.
O
O
So,
as
we
have
an
update
from
enrollment,
so
we
are
currently
accepting
our
applications
for
next
school
year,
we've
already
begun
enrollment
for
next
school
year
choice
schools
are
in
the
process
of
already
notifying
parents
for
the
next
school
year.
Our
TK
is
actually
filling
up
and
next
year,
we're
proud
to
say
that
we're
going
to
be
offering
TK
at
all
nine
of
our
elementary
school
sites
next
year.
O
O
We
only
have
a
few
really
weeks
left
in
the
school
year,
so
in
just
one
week
we
already
have
243
students
signed
up
for
summer
school,
so
we
are
excited
about
that
and
thank
you
to
the
many
teachers
Mr
Moran
might
share
that
who
have
already
signed
up
to
help
us
teach
summer
school
and
staff
that
are
signed
up
to
support
that
program.
We're
really
looking
forward
to
that
and
sharing
more
about
that.
We
have
a
presentation
for
you
this
evening.
O
This
we
do
have
our
annual
academic,
Services
planning
meeting
that's
taking
place
this
week
at
the
old
George,
the
our
professional
development
center
and
our
goal
is
to
map
out
our
next
year
school
year.
As
it
relates
to
professional
development
events,
major
tasks,
deliverables
for
23.24,
we
want
to
make
sure
we're
ready
to
go
for
the
new
school
year
before
this
school
year
closes.
O
So
we
are
excited
about
that
for
our
academic,
Services
leadership
team
right
now,
academic
Services
is
also
looking
into
additional
tutoring
services
and
enrichment
opportunities
for
the
next
school
year
kind
of
like
what
you
heard
this
evening
from
Mrs
Perry,
so
programs
that
increase
our
Arts
opportunities.
Our
plan
is
to
be
able
to
offer
a
menu
of
options
for
families
to
support
what
the
sites
are
offering
for
our
students,
so
addition
to
our
professional
development
training
we're
also
looking
into
it.
O
It's
called
letters
training
and
we
sent
out
an
interest
survey
on
April
27th,
we're
going
to
have
from
4
to
5
p.m.
In
informational
session
for
teachers
who
are
interested,
letter
stands
for
language
Essentials
for
teachers
of
reading
and
spelling,
and
so
it's
a
really
in-depth
that
focuses
on
the
foundations
of
reading
and
it's
meant
to
be
a
next
step
after
core.
So
we
are
excited
if
you're
interested
about
that
and
what
that
involves.
We'll
see
you
on
the
27th,
you
can
reach
out
to
me.
O
Lcap
surveys
have
been
going
out.
The
last
couple
weeks
repeated
in
my
reminders,
and
also
we
are
getting
ready
to
send
out
our
paper
version,
we're
excited
because
this
year
we
had
Parents
stakeholder
meetings
all
year
long.
This
allowed
us
to
get
input
from
our
parents
all
year
long
about
what
we
see
at
our
schools.
What
we
need
in
our
schools
to
support
our
goals.
We
have
three
goals:
academic,
achievement,
social
emotional
learning
and
mental
health
support
and
parent
and
family
engagement.
O
So
we
have
two
more
lcap
meetings
for
the
remainder
of
the
year
on
April
18th
is
our
next
one
from
5
30
to
7,
at
Westside,
Park
or
virtual.
All
those
meetings
are
hybrid
and
then
finally,
we
have
our
school
sites
have
just
begun,
working
on
their
sipses
or
their
school
plans,
which
are
aligned
to
our
lcap
goals.
So
sites
were
asked
to
make
sure
that
we
have
a
goal
in
reading
a
goal
in
math
English,
learner's
goal
special
education
goal,
student
engagement,
which
is
attendance,
discipline
and
also
family
and
parent
engagement.
O
H
Okay,
thank
you
all
right
good
evening,
president
of
French
trustees,
Mr
Krause,
District,
colleagues
and
community
members.
Thank
you
again
for
letting
us
share
and
Mr
Soto
Welcome
to
our
district
as
a
newly
appointed
trustee
and
I
wasn't
here
at
the
last
board
meeting
for
personal
reasons,
but
thank
you
for
being
here
all
right.
So
I
want
to
start
off
with
negotiations.
So
ADT
negotiations
have
concluded
we're
happy
to
report
that
the
district
and
adta
have
agreed
to
a
tentative
agreement
for
the
22-23
school
year.
H
The
tentative
agreement
is
on
today's
agenda
under
item
16.02
I'd
like
to
thank
adta's
negotiations
team
for
reaching
the
tentative
agreement.
We
had
many
meetings
and
a
lot
of
hours
spent
on
important
discussions
and
interests
from
both
parties
and
again
I
think
it
was
a
a
great
tentative
agreement.
That's
presented
tonight
so
again,
I'd
like
to
thank
the
teachers
union
for
for
the
work
that
we
did
this
year.
Csca
negotiations
we've
met
several
times,
I
believe
seven
times,
and
we
continue
to
meet
to
make
continued
progress.
H
We're
getting
super
close
and
our
next
meeting
is
this
Friday
April,
14th
and
again
the
the
district's
goal
is
to
always
work
collaboratively
with
their
Union
Partners
to
reach
reasonable
and
fair
agreements
for
supporting
our
employees.
H
That
will
eventually
lead
to
student
achievement
and
success
from
the
certificated
side
of
the
human
resources
department.
We're
continuing
to
conduct
several
multiple
interviews
to
continue
to
hire
teachers
I
know
the
staff
other
teachers
administrators
are
helping
with
our
team
with
that.
So
I'd
like
to
thank
them
for
that.
H
You
know.
I
know
this
year
for
the
school
we've
hired,
70
certificated
substitute
teachers.
We
will
continue
to
to
do
that
sometimes
they're
substitute
teachers
that
don't
take
jobs
after
a
certain
period
of
time.
So
we
we
reach
out
to
them
and
when
they
don't
respond
by
a
certain
date,
then
we
do
remove
them
from
the
list
and
then
we
continue
to
hire.
So
that
does
happen,
and
so,
but
again,
we've
recently
have
hired
up
to
70
teachers.
H
We
also
joined
the
the
university
field,
placement
Forum
with
the
San
Diego
State
University,
and
we
were
joined
by
65
other
school
districts
to
discuss
ways
to
strengthen
field
placements
for
Teacher
candidates.
As
we
all
know,
there
is
a
teacher's
shortage
in
California
and
so
that
collaboration
and
partnership
is
needed
not
only
in
our
district
but
school
districts
up
and
down
California.
H
On
the
classified
side,
as
Mr
Cross
mentioned,
we
continue
to
have
job
fairs.
We
did
hold
two
here
last
month
in
the
boardroom
in
the
in
the
evening.
I
will
continue
to
to
work
hard
to
continue
to
hire
and
fill
our
classified
positions.
H
I
also
want
to
share
that
some
of
our
staff
from
our
department
have
attended
professional
development,
most
recently
a
session
titled
using
your
personal
brand,
to
make
it
professional
statement
that
was
hosted
by
Grand
Canyon
University
we've.
Also
over
the
last
year
we've
approved,
there's
been
167,
approved
volunteers
and
you
probably
have
a
huge
list
tonight
as
well.
So
we'll
continue
to
to
ask
for
volunteers.
H
You
know
the
volunteers
are
really
important,
especially
when
I
think
our
teacher
tonight
who
presented
needs
volunteers,
and
so
that's-
that's-
always
been
a
tradition
of
of
when
parents
love
to
go
and
support
their
teacher
and
their
kids
when
they
go
to
special
events,
field,
trips
or
or
musical
events
right.
So
we'll
continue
to
do
that,
and
you
know
the
staff
is
going
to
continue
to
post
test
and
interview
candidates.
H
That's
a
lot
of
our
job
and
it
it
is
sometimes
difficult,
but
I
think
you
know
we're
going
to
continue
to
to
work
hard
to
fill
all
of
those
vacancies
from
the
risk
management
benefits.
Side.
I'd
like
to
remind
everybody
that
about
Open
Enrollment.
Coming
up
next
month,
May
1st,
through
the
25th
information,
has
been
sent
out
from
Melanie
Olson
Savalas
office.
There
have
been
flyers
and
information
sent
out
so
make
sure
you
sign
up
for
that.
H
There's
also
a
health
fair
that
is
scheduled
for
May,
2nd
and
Melva
Davis
from
2
P.M
to
5
p.m.
That's
been
organized
by
Mel
and
she
had
shared
information
via
email,
so
make
sure
you
you
do
that
as
well.
H
She
also
wanted
me
to
share
that
that
Neil
locksan
has
been
distributed
to
school
sites
and
and
specific
employees
have
been
trained
on
how
to
administer.
So
this
medication
is
medication
used
for
emergency
treatment,
I've
known
or
or
since
suspected
opioid
overdose.
So
those
are
now
at
all
of
the
school
sites
and
specific
staff
have
been
trained
in
the
office.
H
H
We
do
have
about
130
teachers,
who've
applied
for
to
teach
Summer,
School
32
for
esy
or
extended
school
year,
which
is
for
the
sped
students,
as
well
as
a
approximately
133
classified,
have
applied
as
well
so
and
then
I'd
like
to
share
that
I
had
the
pleasure
of
attending
Victoria
mcgathon's
PBIS
assembly
last
week,
that
was
led
by
Mr
verdusco
and
his
assistant
principal
Miss.
Griffith
is
a
great
assembly.
H
I
really
love
the
order
of
the
kids
coming
in
the
organization,
the
video
on
on
how
to
model
and
and
show
how
to
behave
and
and
act
at
a
school.
It's
quite.
It
was
quite
funny
the
kids
loved
it
because
I
don't
know
which
it
was
a
school
from
from
some
other
from
other
District,
that
the
staff
actually
created
these
videos
to
show
how
to
behave
and
how
to
walk
into,
for
example,
the
cafeteria,
and
then
they
showed
the
the
version
of
how
not
to
behave
in
the
cafeteria.
H
So
the
kids
got
a
kick
out
of
it,
but
the
message
was:
was
there
the
kids
were
while
they
were
enjoying
and
laughing
at
the
videos
they.
They
truly
know
the
rules
there
they
enter
quietly.
They
follow
the
rules.
H
Jadette
did
a
great
job
presenting
that
information
and
the
kids,
more
importantly,
did
a
fabulous
job
just
attending
to
the
PBIS
assembly
and
just
serving,
as
you
know,
the
reminders
of
how
to
be
a
good
student
and
then
also
had
the
pleasure
during
that
time,
Mr
verdusco
announces
History,
Day
winners
and
acknowledge
them
to
the
to
the
community.
In
one
assembly,
the
parents
were
invited
so
I
had
a
pleasure
of
of
seeing
who
those
winners
were.
H
So
thank
you
for
inviting
me
and
then
last
month,
again
I
apologize.
If
this
is
a
repeat
because
I
missed
the
last
meeting,
but
last
month
I
had
the
privilege
to
attend
the
Schools
to
Watch
program
in
Monterey,
California
I
know,
Mr
Cross
was
there
and
it
definitely
was
an
experience.
I
was
with
Kathy
usovich,
the
principal
of
Melba
and
and
her
about
the
13
members
of
her
team.
H
They
were
recognized
at
the
schools
to
watch
event,
which
is
presented
by
the
California
League
of
Educators,
in
conjunction
with
the
California
Department
of
Education
and
Melva
Davis
Academy
was
one
of
36.
New
schools
recognized
this
year
as
a
school
to
watch,
and
so
what
happened
during
the
during
the
conference
was
the
power
went
out,
and
so
the
first
day
we
get
there.
Everything
was
fine
and
about
9
00
p.m.
H
You
know
I'm
in
my
I'm,
in
my
hotel
room
and
the
power
went
out,
but
the
hallway
lights
were
still
working.
So
you
know
people
went
to
sleep
next
morning.
You
get
up
and
there's
cold
water
if
you
woke
up
late
to
take
a
shower
so
so
then
I
get
out
I
walk
over
to
the
elevator
and
it's
like
okay
should
I
get
in
the
elevator,
because
something's
not
right,
but
people
are
getting
in
the
elevator
and
coming
out
like
okay,
it's
good.
H
So
so
we
were
there
and
then
you
know
the
first
floor
and
the
main
floor.
Where
the
conference
was,
they
still
had
power.
It
was
run
on
a
generator,
so
conference
continued
and
you
know,
even
though,
even
though
the
power
throughout
the
city
of
Monterey
was
was
out,
you
know
some
hotels
had
had.
Generators
were
powering
certain
floors,
but
that
night
Thursday
late
Thursday
evening
continued
for
about
for
Friday
and
Saturday
with
limited
power.
H
The
morning
Saturday,
which
was
the
last
day
of
the
conference,
the
keynote
speaker
started
and
then
the
lights
went
out
on
the
main
floor
at
that
point,
and
so
now
all
the
power
was
going
out.
So
the
presenter
finished
her
her
presentation,
which
was
about
45
minutes
or
so
just
with
light
coming
into
through
the
window,
and
then
they
they
canceled.
The
the
rest
of
the
conference
for
the
rest
of
that
day,
but
I
had
a
chance
on
Friday
evening
down
in
the
lobby,
just
to
hang
out
with
Melva
Davis
staff.
H
We
were
playing
some
game
on
your
phone
I
can't
remember
where
you
kind
of
like
do
this.
You
have
to
guess
the
word.
I,
don't
know
what
it's
called
heads
up.
Yeah
heads
up
so
so
got
a
chance
to
to
to
do
that
with
their
staff,
and
it
was
great
but
again
I
think
you
know
if
anyone
is
in
an
emergency
situation,
it's
great
to
be
with
teachers,
because
they
will
fight
their
way
through
that
and
and
figure
it
out
so
I.
H
You
know,
I
really
do
want
to
acknowledge
Mela
Davis
staff,
their
success
and
and
their
deserving
of
the
schools
to
watch.
Honor
I'd
also
personally
like
to
thank
her
team
right
now:
Jennifer
and
Jared
Hardin
Chris
and
Angela
Koval
Alita,
biter,
Cindy,
sepi,
Amanda,
Matheson,
Lori,
Rhodes,
cinnamon
Olivares
and
the
administrators
Jennifer
now
Bonnie
Avery
and
their
fearless
leader
Kathy
again
we're
all
proud
of
your
work
and
dedication,
even
in
in
in
when
you
don't
have
power
or
lights.
So
all
right.
Thank
you.
A
A
A
The
board
values
public
comments
and
although
the
Board
of
Trustees
cannot
take
action
on
discuss
or
discuss
items
not
on
the
agenda,
the
Board
of
Trustees
listen
carefully
and
appreciate
input
from
the
public.
Additionally,
a
public
speaker
can
be
cut
off
for
exceeding
the
allotted
time
or
for
willfully,
causing
an
actual
disruption
to
the
meeting
before
cutting
a
person
off
or
removing
someone.
The
board
will
give
at
least
one
clear
warning
if
you
were
cut
off
or
worn
last
time.
A
Please
consider
that
your
warning
individual
speakers
are
allowed
three
minutes
to
address
the
board
on
each
closed
session
agenda
item
the
board
limits
the
total
time
for
public
input
on
each
item
to
20
minutes
with
board
consent.
The
president
may
increase
or
decrease
the
time
allowed
for
public
presentations.
Depending
on
the
topic
and
the
number
of
persons
wishing
to
be
heard.
The
president
may
take
a
poll
of
speakers
for
or
against
a
particular
issue
and
may
ask
that
additional
speak
persons
speak
only
if
they
have
something
new
to
add.
A
Moving
on
to
section
six.
S
S
S
I
want
to
begin
by
expressing
my
sincere
appreciation
to
you
for
the
agreement
that
the
district
and
adca
reached
I
think
it
was
important
step
toward
Mutual
trust
and
respect
and
an
acknowledgment
of
the
role
we
play
in
our
students
lives.
Thank
you
all
very
much
for
the
part
you
played
in
our
Fair
settlement.
S
The
best
way
to
serve
our
students
is
to
appreciate
our
teachers,
thereby
encouraging
in
Esprit
de
corps
that
we
have
been
lacking
for
some
time.
I
have
faith
that
the
increase
places
us
competitively
among
the
districts
both
here
and
down
the
hill.
Both
teams
worked
hard
to
hammer
out
an
agreement
that
was
acceptable
to
our
members
and
I'm
hopeful
that
you'll
put
your
stamp
of
approval
on
it
tonight.
S
There
is
a
battle
yet
that
we
will
continue
to
fight,
and
it
is
the
one
for
class
sizes.
A
small
concession
was
made
as
the
district
promised
a
gradual
step
down
over
the
next
two
years
from
current
numbers,
but
even
as
a
first
step,
it
really
was
not
enough.
Our
students
need
more
space
and
room
to
learn.
S
We
need
lower
numbers
in
order
to
serve
smaller
groups
as
we
implement
the
core
reading
strategies
and
and
next
the
letters
reading
strategies
that
many
campuses
are
working
through,
kids
need
space
and
room
to
move
about
without
bumping
into
and
inadvertently
offending
one
another.
We
need
smaller
classes
in
the
upper
grades,
so
the
appropriate
monitoring
of
student
behaviors
can
occur.
The
smaller,
more
manageable
classes
will
make
it
easier
for
us
to
attract
substitutes
in
an
effort
to
avoid
the
splitting
of
classes
in
periods
subbing.
S
That
practice
was
basically
unheard
of
until
recently
I've
been
in
teaching
30
years,
and
it's
only
been
the
last
two
or
three
years
that
we've
ever
split
classes.
It's
a
it's
strange
to
me,
sadly,
is
an
expedient
solution
to
a
difficult
problem,
but
we
need
to
do
better
than
that.
We
need
to
better
than
to
split
classes,
sometimes
ruining
the
teaching
day
for
the
accepting
class
and
giving
the
split
class
little
more
than
an
ADA
placeholder.
S
We
are
still
underserving
our
community
in
terms
of
social,
emotional
skills
and
counselors.
To
help
with
trauma,
our
students
need
coping
mechanisms
in
our
adults,
do
too
exhaustion
and
spring
fever.
Behaviors
are
a
terrible
combination.
We
need
less
stigma
attached
to
taking
a
mental
health
day
off
as
needed.
I
can
tell
you
from
a
teacher's
perspective.
S
It
is
difficult
and
time
consuming
to
plan
appropriate
and
meaningful
substitute
plans
that
a
stranger
can
come
in
and
Implement,
as
well
as
preparing
that
sub
for
scheduling
issues
behaviors
to
watch
out
for
and
numerous
other
variables
that
they
may
face
during
the
day.
None
of
us
goes
through
that
process
lightly.
If
we
need
to
take
a
day,
it's
for
a
good
reason.
S
S
There's
a
bigger
problem
still
facing
us
as
a
district,
no
actually
as
a
society,
and
it
comes
down
to
this
cell
phones
from
the
primary
grades
through
High.
School
phones
have
all
but
destroyed,
classroom,
efficacy
and
student
privacy.
Anyone
at
any
time
can
be
recording
or
photographing.
A
third
grader
was
caught,
making
a
tick
tock
in
the
bathroom
and
filming
other
children.
S
Kids
are
using
that
airdrop
feature
to
flood
all
phones
in
a
given
area
with
pictures
threats,
videos
all
manner
of
perversity.
Students
need
to
be
made
aware
of
that
when
they
send
provocative
pictures
around,
they
are
Distributing
child
pornography
and
we
need
to
start
filing
charges
against
offenders.
We
need
to
protect
the
young
eyes,
who
unwittingly
view
these
pictures.
We
can
say
that
there's
a
rule
and
cell
phones
are
not
permitted.
S
They
must
be
in
the
backpacks
until
the
end
of
the
day
when
they
need
to
coordinate
a
ride
home
or
phone
a
parent,
but
enforcement
of
that
is
virtually
impossible.
Teachers
cannot
be
responsible
for
confiscating
a
piece
of
equipment
worth
between
200
or
1100
dollars.
The
school
offices
and
principals
and
Deans
need
to
establish
strict
procedure
and
a
stiff
protocol
for
confiscating
phones
and
stick
to
the
rules.
It
should
be
strong
enough
to
be
a
deterrent
for
other
students
to
not
risk
losing
their
phone.
S
S
Community
Schools
are
public
schools
that
provide
services
and
support
that
fit
each
neighborhood's
needs
created
and
run
by
the
people
who
know
our
children
best
all
working
together.
A
community
school
is
both
a
place
and
a
set
of
Partnerships
between
the
school
and
other
Community
Resources.
It's
integrated
focus
on
academics,
Youth,
Development,
Family,
Support,
Health,
Care
social
services
and
Community
Development
leads
to
improved
student
learning,
stronger
families
and
healthier
communities
using
public
schools
as
hubs,
community,
centers
or
I'm.
S
Sorry,
computer
Community
Schools
bring
together
many
partners
to
offer
a
range
of
support
and
opportunities
to
children,
youth
families
and
communities.
Before
during
and
after
school
and
even
on
weekends,
we
may
need
to
restructure
our
schools
in
the
district
to
serve
our
local
communities.
It
would
lighten
the
load
on
busing
if
neighborhoods
has
schools
they
need
within
walking.
Distance
kids
have
to
get
up
at
five
to
get
on
a
bus
at
six
to
get
to
a
school
that
starts
at
8
or
8
30.,
that's
upsetting
to
anyone.
S
S
In
closing,
I
would
like
to
say
that
we
have
a
lot
of
work
to
do
in
this
District,
but
approving
the
contract
that
this
District
offered
us
is
a
huge
step
toward
us
having
a
respectful
appreciative
and
collaborative
collaborative
Community.
Thank
you
all
again
for
the
part
you
play
in
leading
our
school,
our
district
and
demonstrating
a
dedication
to
our
families
and
students.
Thank
you.
S
I
T
Good
evening,
Madam
president
Le
French
trustees,
superintendent,
Krause
cabinet,
all
staff
certificated
and
classified
and
all
others
at
this
meeting.
First
I'd
like
to
congratulate
all
of
our
colleagues
with
their
10
and
15
years.
What
an
accomplishment
it's
really
great
to
see
that
our
employees
are
staying.
Also
I'd
like
to
congratulate
our
spelling
bee
winners.
Congratulations
I
know
how
hard
it
is
for
our
youth
to
be
able
to
come
up
and
speak.
It's
really
difficult
for
me
as
well.
T
Also
I
would
like
to
welcome
our
new
trustee
Soto,
congratulations
and
I'm
sure
we're
going
to
work
well
together.
T
I
have
stood
here
and
advocated
for
many
of
our
departments
and
how
short
staffed
we
are
I've
mentioned.
I.T
I've
mentioned
buses
I've
mentioned
practically
every
Department
I
know
that
there
is
a
shortage
everywhere,
but
right
now,
I
think
the
most
concerning
is
our
best
drivers.
We
are
losing
them.
Why
we
are.
We
are
low,
the
lowest
paid
here
in
surrounding
districts.
We
are
not
losing
them
because
they're
moving
out
of
state,
we
are
not
losing
them
because
they
are
moving
out
of
our
County.
We
are
not
losing
them.
T
T
It's
played
a
major
part
in
all
of
our
departments,
especially
our
school
sites,
because
we
are
building
all
of
these
calls
from
our
parents
concerning
their
bus
drivers.
No
drivers.
Why
I
don't
understand
it
myself.
I
know
that
for
each
child
that
sits
in
the
classroom,
we
are
allotted
money
for
each
one
that
comes
every
single
day,
I'm
just
for
easy
math
here,
I'm
just
going
to
say
five
thousand
dollars
for
each
child.
T
So
when
we
have
two
not
coming
to
school,
how
much
is
that
and
thousand?
Why
aren't
these
bus
drivers
being
paid
long?
We
need
our
bus
drivers
and
I'm,
hoping
that
you
hear
us.
We
need
our
bus
drivers,
we
need
to
advocate
for
them.
We
have
been
from
the
beginning
of
the
school
year,
I
I'm,
I,
myself,
don't
understand
why
they're
not
paid
more
and
I'm
hoping
that
that
you
hear
this
and
that
we
need
our
bus
drivers
and
they
need
to
be
paid
a
decent
salary
and
be
competitive
with
the
surrounding
districts.
T
Thank
you
for
allowing
me
to
speak
and
I
want
to
also
say
thank
you
to
the
negotiating
team
for
Mr
Moran
for
what
we
have
accomplished
so
far.
We
still
have
one
I'm,
hoping
one
more
Friday.
Then
we
can
negotiate
and
and
get
what
we
all
deserve.
For
you
know
our
classified
staff.
Thank
you.
P
P
I'd
like
to
keep
it
very
simple,
first
of
all,
I
just
want
to
say
it's
important
to
give
thanks,
I'd
like
to
say
on
behalf
of
the
adta
organization.
I
would
like
to
say
thank
you.
Thank
you
for
meeting
us
at
a
reasonable
salary
increase.
P
P
We
can
now
focus
our
efforts
on
where
they
should
go,
which
is
our
students,
community
and
taking
care
of
ourselves
I,
for
one
can
now
work
with
more
pep
in
my
step.
So
once
again,
thank
you
very
much
and
I
wish
you
all
a
great
conclusion
to
this
academic
school
year.
A
J
N
G
G
F
I
C
F
T
K
Yes,
Madam
president,
thank
you
I'd
like
her
to
finish
the
Hope
program.
She.
C
K
Q
A
M
B
G
Thank
you,
madam
president,
we'd
like
to
call
up
Dr,
dwison
and
and
Miss
Carol
Coburn,
who
will
give
us
a
brief
update
on
our
summer
program
that
we
have
coming
up.
We're
very
excited
that
it's
going
to
be
a
very
robust
program
and
we
heard
earlier
how
many
people
had
applied
to
work
our
summer
program.
So
now
we're
going
to
get
a
few
more
Logistics
on
that.
So
thank
you.
Dr
dwyzan
and
Carol
for
your
hard
work
and
I'm
gonna
turn
it
over
to
you
for
our
presentation.
O
All
right
good
evening,
president
love
French
word
of
trustees
and
our
community
and
executive
cabinet.
This
evening
we
are
providing
a
brief
overview
of
our
summer
enrichment
and
esy
program
that
will
be
taking
place
this
summer.
We're
going
to
get
that
presentation
pulled
up.
O
All
right,
so
the
purpose
in
the
background
of
our
summer
enrichment
campus,
to
provide
our
students
with
opportunities
to
extend
their
learning
academically.
O
So
we
also
make
sure
that
they
have
social,
emotional
opportunities
throughout
and
that
we
engage
enrichment
activities.
So
we
have
stream
as
the
kind
of
acronym
which
stands
for
science,
technology,
reading,
engineering,
arts
and
math,
and
so
that
is
like
the
the
basis
and
the
core
of
the
summer
enrichment
camp,
and
then
we
have
right
running
right
alongside
of
it,
for
the
same
amount
of
time
is
our
esy
program,
which
is
our
extended
school
year.
O
Program
extended
school
year
is
for
our
special
education
students
and
during
that
opportunity
they
also
have
additional
opportunity
to
keep
learning
and
making
growth
toward
their
IEP
goals
and
those
are
geared
and
structured
for
their
their
own
personal
learning.
So
at
this
time
we
want
to
make
sure
that
you
know
that
it
also
included
in
the
program.
They
will
have
much
opportunities
for
Hands-On
activities.
O
We
have
PE
our
PE
teachers,
do
an
excellent
job
last
summer
and
we're
there
coming
back
this
year
to
make
sure
that
our
students
have
movement
opportunities.
All
throughout
the
day
enrichment,
we
have
learning
trips
that
are
scheduled
for
our
students,
science
assemblies.
We
also
have
daily
living
skills
for
our
esy
students
and
also
services,
so
like
their
speech,
their
services
that
they
get
OT.
So
they
have
those
extra
opportunities
to
get
those
services
so
I'm
going
to
pass
it
over
to
miss
cober.
U
Thank
you
all
right,
so
we're
very
excited
for
our
summer
enrichment
Camp.
It
does
start
for
the
mainstream
program
on
June,
8th
and
runs
through
June
30th.
Students
have
the
opportunity
to
have
breakfast
every
morning
and
then
an
instructional
program
that
is
about
four
hours
with
they
do
have
a
break
within
that
time
as
well.
Lunch
is
also
served
to
our
students
and
then
they
have
the
opportunity
to
either
go
home
or
stay
for
the
after
school
program.
U
So
the
after
school
program,
the
the
main
program
runs
until
three,
but
for
families
that
need
that
support
until
6
PM.
It
is
available
to
all
of
our
students
until
6
PM
If.
The
parents
need
that
we
do
have
bussing,
that
we
are
going
to
be
providing
to
students
so
that
they
can
get
to
and
from
school.
U
The
bus
will
pick
them
up
before
breakfast
and
drop
them
off,
so
they
have
time
to
eat,
and
then
the
bus
will
be
leaving
the
schools
at
3
pm,
so
they
will
be
staying
for
some
of
the
after
school
enrichment
as
well.
Our
esy
has
to
run
for
20
days,
so
they
are
going
to
start
on
June
5th
and
run
through
July
3rd.
U
So
families
were
asked
in
their
IEP
meetings
if
they
wanted
to
extend
the
school
year
for
their
students
and
given
the
opportunity,
you
know
to
say
yes
or
no,
they
were
also
sent
some
invitations
asking
again
if
they
wanted
extended
school
year,
so
they
are
working
on
the
registration.
We
do
have
an
online
registration
for
our
mainstream
program
and
it's
going
well.
U
As
Dr
dwyzan
said
earlier,
we
have
243
students
already
signed
up,
so
that
will
be
going
out
at
least
weekly
to
parents,
just
as
a
reminder,
and
usually
as
the
time
comes
closer.
We
have
more
people
wanting
to
in
the
in
the
program
summer
in
Richmond
Hill
sites
this
year.
So
we
have
three
Elementary
scattered
kind
of
across
different
areas,
so
we
have
west
side
park,
Braddock
and
Morgan
Kincaid
and
then
for
our
Middle
School
this
year,
we're
going
to
be
using
Mesa,
Linda,
Middle
School.
U
We
have
a
lot
of
staff
that
have
the
opportunity
to
to
help.
With
this
program
we
have
administrators,
our
teachers,
I'm
happy
to
say
that
we're
offering
a
TK
through
seventh
grade
and
we've
had
dual
immersion
teachers
that
wanted
to
be
added
to
this
program.
So
we're
going
to
have
a
couple:
dual
immersion
classes
in
summer
school
as
well.
We
have
elective
courses
and
we
have
PE
we're
also
going
to
be
having
counselors
and
school
psychologists
to
help
with
the
social,
emotional
learning.
U
On
those
campuses
we
have
Proctors
and
security
guards
for
our
kids
to
keep
them
safe
and
to
help
to
you
know
in
the
the
bigger
areas
of
the
school
we
have
paraprofessionals
clerks,
Health,
clerks
bus
drivers,
CNS
workers
and
custodians,
and
so
we've
been
working
interdepartmentally
to
develop
and
work
through
all
of
the
logistics
from
the
beginning
of
Summer
School
this
year.
So
we're
very
excited
to
be
offering
that
opportunity
to
those
those
staff
we've
partnered
with
our
after
school
program
Aya.
They
do
have
contract
until
the
30th
of
June,
so
they'll
be
running.
U
That
program
daily,
like
I,
said
from
12
p.m,
till
6
at
the
four
locations
for
the
mainstream
program.
Their
theme
this
year
is
around
the
world
and
so
they'll
be
studying
different
countries.
Learning
about
their
cultures
and
traditions,
they'll
be
focusing
in
on
doing
some
art
history
with
the
students
and
then
linking
Sports.
U
So
soccer
is
one
of
the
main
sports
in
one
of
the
countries
they're
going
to
be
studying,
so
I
know
that
they're
going
to
be
doing
a
soccer
unit,
but
they
want
to
also
look
at
the
the
stuff
that
is
interesting
to
students
and
sports
is
one
of
those
areas.
So
we
look
forward
to
working
with
them
this
year
and
I
know
that
they
have
a
a
nice
plan
of
curriculum
for
for
our
students.
So.
O
Okay,
we
do
have
you
do
have
a
copy
of
the
flyer
in
front
of
you.
I
just
want
to
say:
I
know
that
Miss
Coburn
mentioned
all
the
Staffing.
We
truly
are
appreciative
because
every
single
Department,
every
single
division
has
been
helping
us
to
plan
this
since
about
October,
that's
kind
of
when
we
start
to
get
ready
for
summer
school,
and
so
we
are
excited
about
this
program.
We're
excited
for
the
opportunities
for
our
students,
and
we
just
want
everyone
to
sign
up.
Who
wants
to
be
there?
J
C
I
would
like
to
say:
I
really
really
am
glad
that
we're
due
to
doing
this
again
last
some
summer,
I
got
out
to
tour
and
I
heard
from
the
staff.
How
great
it
was,
how
happy
they
were.
The
kids
were
too
busy
busy
to
talk
to
to
me.
They
I
wasn't
even
in
the
room,
so
I'm
I'm,
really
glad
that
we
are
due
doing
this.
You
know
the
these
are
the
things
the
kids,
it
sticks
in
their
brains.
C
F
I
am
excited
about
this.
One
I'm
very
excited
that
we
started
advertising
this
earlier
this
year
and
Addison
is
excited
to
be
going.
So
thank
you
for
your
presentation.
A
K
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
for
the
presentation,
I
look
forward
to
this
summer,
enrichment
Camp.
So
that's
going
to
be
awesome.
So
thank
you
guys
for
what
you
do.
A
B
A
I
A
Like
the
I
need
an
emotion
to
approve
the
remaining
of
the
consensus
agenda,
minus
14.14.
C
F
Webster
I
motioned
to
table
1414
with
more
pending
more
information
and
clarification.
If
we
can
make
this
a
one-year
contract
and
not
a
two.
A
I
D
J
Okay,
I
pulled
this
particular
study
to
it,
because
I
really
needed
more
information
on
who
will
be
going.
I
see
that
there's
130
students;
sixth,
through
eighth
grade
students
and
13
chaperones,
going
to
from
Columbia
Middle
School
going
to
Olivera
Street.
G
Thank
you
trustee
Turner,
and
we
did
con
consult
with
the
site
and
Mr
Moran
if
you'd
like
to
just
expand
upon
her
question
pleaser.
Yes,.
H
So
we
double
checked
because
one
something
that
was
brought
to
our
attention
was
the
order
of
one
bus
for
193
students,
so
that
was
there's
only
30
students
going.
We
confirmed.
N
J
Bus
because
I
see
where
you
amended
the
buses
on
the
transportation
quote
to
add
two
buses.
J
A
Motion
to
approve
first
by
Miss,
trustee
Turner
can
I
get
a
second,
so.
B
D
M
I
C
B
C
K
I
just
want
to
say
this
is
going
to
be
great
for
our
teachers,
so
I'm
happy
that
we
we
did
come
to
an
agreement.
J
I
I
concur
with
my
fellow
trustees,
I'm
happy
that
the
teachers
and
the
district
had
come
to
an
agreement,
so
we're
looking
forward
to
working
together.
As
always.
Thank
you.
A
I'm
excited
I
think
everyone
for
their
hard
work,
making
this
possible
and
appreciate
the
adta,
the
superintendent
Mr
Moran
thank
everyone
for
their
their
time
and
the
time
that
they
spent
working
on
this
and
I
am
so
happy
that
we've
come
to
an
agreement
that
people
can
be
proud
of
and
I'm
happy
working
for
our
district.
Okay.
Moving
on
to
oh
nope
call
for
the
vote,
Mr
levay.
A
B
A
A
J
A
J
I'm
sorry,
this
is
board
policy
5146
right.
Okay,
yes,.
A
C
Ever
stupid
is
no,
there
actually
are
some,
but
here
we
go
but
I'll
own
this
one,
the
the
the
SEC
second
read
is
this:
the
fine
final
read:
okay,
just
asking
no
I
have
none
now.
Thank
you.
B
D
A
La
Prince
love,
Prince,
I'm,
motionpass,
five,
zero.
Moving
on
to
section
18
governing
board
members
reports
and
announcements.
It's
you
know
one
governing
course.
Members
reports
an
announcement.
Let's
go
with
trustee
Turner,
you
gotta
get
a.
A
C
One
that
that's
why
I
was
a
little
confused,
because
they
they
grouped
B
bp6145
and
AAR
six
one
four
five
point:.
J
A
Okay,
so
we're
going
back
to
the
item
in
order
to
be
able
to
to
separate
the
two
and
take
two
more
motions
are
just
the
motion
for
administrative
regulation.
So.
Q
J
The
second
reading
of
board
policy,
6145
and
second
reading
administrative
regulations
6.45.2
to
separate
and
both
can
I
get.
D
A
So
now
we're
going
back,
I
need
a
motion
to
adopt
and
approve
the
second
read
of
board
policy,
6145
extra
curricula
and
co-curricular
activities.
A
J
I
would
like
to
make
a
comment
that
this
board
policy-
that's
how
it's
stated
here
is
totally
different
in
the
writing
and
the
reading
of
the
administrative
regulation.
Some
of
the
language,
that's
in
the
AR,
is
not
in
the
policy
and
so
to
me
it.
It
appears
that
these
are
two
different
two
different
issues.
All
together.
J
C
What
is
it
it's
the
one
to
the
when
it
says
when,
when
a
school
provides,
I
just
need
to
sit,
sit
down
with
someone,
so
that
it's
explained
to
me
because
that
that's
unclear
I'm
I'm,
read
read
reading
through
through
this,
and
it
looks
to
me
I,
don't
know,
I
could
be
jump,
jumping
because
I
do
a
lot
of
skim
and
scan
and
I
really
should
stop,
but
I
get
going
views
that
you're
having
the
boys
and
the
girls
go
on
each
other's
teams
or
playing
each
other's
games
and
stuff.
G
Is
Dr
weisen
would
Carol
be
able
to
speak
to
this
item
since
it
falls
under
student
services
evening,
or
would
you
prefer
that
we
perhaps.
B
J
Both
six
one,
four
five
and
six
one
four
five
a
two
and
bring
the
board
policy
and
have
a
workshop,
so
we
can
get
clarification
and
talk
about
this.
This
is
something
we
need
to
discuss.
M
D
M
A
C
Trustee
Benz,
Vince,
I,
I
I
just
want
want
to
say
trustee
Turner,
I
apprec
appreciate
your
dude
diligence
and
things,
and
the
fact
that
you
brought
that
up
I
might
my
Wii
wheels
and
my
brain
spin
slow
slowly,
some
sometimes
so
I.
True
truly
do
appreciate,
appreciate
you
very
very
much
so
and
that's
all
I
gotta
say
I
I
do
do
a
pretty
appreciate
you
all
too.
It's
just
don't
don't
do
anything.
We
just
chop
liver,
it's
cool.
We
got
you
okay,
now
I'm
done
trustee.
A
K
I
really
did
want
to
say
a
whole
bunch,
but
it
is
getting
late.
I
wanted
to
extend
my
gratitude
to
the
superintendent
for
being
really
welcoming
and
all
of
the
staff
here
who
has
been
super
welcoming
I'm
coming
from
the
City
of
Palo
Alonso
as
a
planning
commissioner,
and
it's
it's
very
different.
So
I
just
want
to
thank
everybody
for
being
super
welcoming
and
I
look
forward
to
working
with
everyone
here
and
the
community
as
well,
and
I
also
want
to
thank
Madam
president
for
her
leadership
as
well.
So
thank
you.
A
I
just
want
to
say
it
because
I
didn't
say
it
in
the
beginning.
Welcome
aboard
I
appreciate
you
I
adore
the
way
that
you
speak
I
do.
Thank
you
very
much,
and
welcome
aboard
I
will
wave
the
rest
of
my
comments.
Everyone
have
a
nice,
oh
yeah,
adjournment.
D
J
Trustee
Turner
I
would
like
to
welcome
again
trustee
Soto
and
that's
an
eye.
