A
We
made
the
decision
that
we
need
to
provide
ongoing
income
for
the
community
and,
as
such,
we've
taken
the
view
that
my
developing
at
least
part
of
this
site,
which
is
pretty
big,
taken
into
account
the
car
parking
areas,
part
of
it
for
commercial
use.
It
can
actually
underwrite
the
development
of
other
areas
on
it
to
provide
social
housing,
affordable,
housing
and
generally
help
the
community
as
a
whole.
The
site
currently
costs
something
in
the
region
of
40,000
pounds.
A
Just
in
business
rates,
so
part
of
our
development
brief
for
this
side
is
to
intact
take
on
the
demolition
of
the
the
major
building
there,
which
is
in
bad
need
of
significant
repairs,
is
costing
this
money
for
nothing
at
the
moment,
and
hopefully
we
shall
find
that
that
would
encourage
a
developer
to
come
along
and
work
with
us
to
develop
the
site.
When
it's
nice
and
clean
and
clear
on
this
particular
expanse
of
the
car
park,
you
see
behind
me.
A
The
plan
is
to
develop
an
office
complex
and
on
the
far
side
on
the
actual
site
of
the
civic
center
itself.
That's
going
to
be
preliminary
plans
suggest
that
we
should
be
looking
at
that
for
residential
and
commercial
development,
so
that
that's
the
plan
going
forward.
Hopefully
it
will
enhance
the
income
overall
to
the
council
and
with
that
income
we
should
be
benefiting
the
community
as
a
whole.
