From YouTube: A Message from Superintendent Shane Andrew, 5/26/23
Description
Alachua County Public Schools
A
Hello,
this
is
Shane
Andrew,
superintendent
of
Alachua,
County,
Public,
Schools
and
yes,
the
end
is
near.
The
school
year
is
almost
over,
but
before
we
head
into
the
summer,
I
want
to
share
a
quick
message
with
some
very
special
people
inside
and
outside
our
schools.
I
want
to
thank
our
District
employees
for
the
wonderful
work
you've
done
over
the
last
year.
A
Obviously,
our
schools
are
still
dealing
with
the
after
effects
of
the
pandemic,
but
you've
remained
committed
to
our
students,
despite
the
challenges
and
I
can't
tell
you
how
much
I
appreciate
your
hard
work
and
dedication
to
our
families.
Thank
you
for
trusting
us
with
the
care
and
education
of
your
children.
It's
an
awesome
responsibility,
but
it's
also
a
great
joy.
Helping
your
children
grow
and
Thrive
is
why
we
got
into
this
business.
A
We
appreciate
your
support
as
our
teachers,
our
principals
and
all
of
our
employees,
carry
out
the
important
work
of
preparing
students
to
become
successful
adults
to
our
volunteers
and
business
and
Community
Partners.
The
time
talent
and
resources
you
contribute
to
our
schools
are
so
important,
maybe
you're
mentoring,
a
student
one-on-one,
contributing
funding
for
a
literacy
program
or
helping
beautify
a
campus,
but
whatever
you're
doing
to
support
the
work
happening
in
our
classrooms,
you
are
making
a
difference
in
the
lives
of
children.
A
Finally,
I
want
to
congratulate
our
students
on
making
it
to
the
end
of
another
school
year,
especially
our
graduating
seniors.
The
class
of
2023
you've
had
to
get
through
some
tough
times
to
make
it
to
this
important
Milestone,
but
that
willingness
to
work
hard
and
overcome
obstacles
will
serve
you
well.
Whatever
comes
next
in
your
life's
journey,
I
hope
all
of
you,
students,
family
staff
and
Community
Partners,
have
a
wonderful
summer.
We
look
forward
to
welcoming
everyone
back
in
the
fall.
