remind

the
unbelievable
weekend
that
Adams
State
athletics
had
just
a
few
weeks
ago.
If
I
may
Stephanie
Cotter
a
member
of
our
women's
indoor
track
and
field
team
won
not
one
but
two
championships
at
the
national
championships
in
Virginia
Beach
in
the
mile
run
and
the
3
000
meter
run
Stephanie.

Now
a
nine-time
national
champion
ties
the
school
record
and
she
was
also
named
the
national
track
and
field
athlete
of
the
year.
The
women's
team
won
the
National
Championship.
On
the
men's
side,
the
team
placed
second
Miguel
coca
won
the
mile
for
the
Grizzlies.
An
outstanding
performance
I
might
add
that
Damon
Martin
once
again
named
the
national
coach
of
the
year
flipping
the
page
to
wrestling
two
national
champions.

ago,
125
pounds
was
Brendan
Garcia
and
at
149
was
Josiah
Ryder
and
I
may
add.
This
is
Josiah's
second
championship
in
a
row
and
also
named
the
national
wrestler
of
the
year.
So
for
those
County
at
home,
Adams
State
over
the
course
of
the
Decades
preceding
us
have
won
67
national
championships
across
all
sports
and
now
has
275
individual
national
champions
across
all
sports
as
well.
So
let
it
be
known
mayor
for
the
record
that
Adam
State
maintains
its
commitment
to
helping
Alamosa
stay,
the
city
of
Champions
all.

to
have
a
great
group
of
council
members
up
here
and
tonight,
helping
me
with

proclamations
we
have
mayor,
Pro,
Tim,
Charlie
griego,
and
we
also
have
counselor
Christina
Daniel,
who
will
help
out
with
the
proclamations
tonight.
So
we'll
start
off
with
the
first
one:
the
international
dark
sky
week,
Proclamation,
which
will
be
read
by
mayor
Pro,
Tim,

Hi
everyone,
thank
you
so
much.
My
name
is
Danny
Robin
and
I.
Work
for
San
Luis,
Valley,
Great,
Outdoors
I've
had
the
pleasure
of
spearheading
the
Sangre
de
Cristo
dark
sky
Reserve
Initiative
for
the
past
couple
of
years,
bringing
together
other
non-profits
state
and
federal
Land
Management
agencies
and
Municipal
and
County
jurisdictions
to
collaborate
and
work
towards
this
shared
vision
of
night
sky
preservation.

Here
in
Southern
Colorado
through
long-term
planning,
the
adoption
of
responsible
outdoor
lighting
policies
and
public
Outreach
and
education,
the
Sangre
de
Cristo,
dark
sky
Coalition
is
working
to
establish
an
international
dark
sky
Reserve
to
maintain
the
dark
skies
in
Southern
Colorado
and
to
improve
public
health
and
safety,
encourage
sustainable
tourism
opportunities
and
preserve
our
unique
rural
character
and
quality
of
life.
This
last
year,
I
convened
a
dark
sky
working
group,
many
of
which
are
in
the
crowd
tonight.
Thank
you
for
your
support.

Research
tells
us
that
there's
no
scientific
evidence
that
says
more
lighting
is
better.
In
fact,
on
the
contrary,
lighting
that
is
unshielded
and
overly
bright
actually
decreases
safety
because
it
shines
into
our
eyes
and
constricts
our
pupils
and
ability
to
see
it.
In
addition,
unshielded
light
creates
Stark
contrasts
and
Deep
Shadows,
allowing
criminals
to
hide
better.

A
dark
sky
does
not
necessarily
mean
a
dark
ground.
It
provides
targeted
lighting
towards
the
ground
so
that
all
lighting
produced
is
useful
and
it
is
not
wasted
into
the
night
sky,
thereby
causing
light
pollution.
These
are
the
messages
that
we
want
to
communicate
during
International
dark
sky
week
this
year
and
Beyond
into
the
future.

see
this

if
you'd

as
stated
by
a
couple
of
our
survey
participants,
the
dark
sky
is
what
makes
our
area
unique
and
is
something
I
treasure.
It
is
healthier
for
humans
and
animals
to
have
dark
skies.
I

children
and
grandchildren
to
be
able
to
see
the
Milky
Way
and
know
what
it
feels
like
to
be
draped
in
darkness.

The
city
of
Alamosa
in
recognition
of
Sexual
Assault,
Awareness
Month.
We
are
calling
attention
to
the
fact
that
sexual
violence
is
widespread
and
impacts.
Every
person
in
the
community,
Sexual
Assault
Awareness
Month
aims
to
raise
public
awareness
about
sexual
violence
and
educate
communities
about
how
to
prevent
it.
Systems
of
Oppression
such
as
racism,
sexism,
classism,
heterosexism
ageism,
ableism
Etc,
contribute
to
the
higher
rates
of
sexual
harassment,
assault
and
abuse.
Unfortunately,
those
same
groups
are
also
the
most
impacted
by
inequitable
systems
of
Oppression
in
our
society.

some
point.
In
their
lives,
whereas
we
can
trace
a
line
from
sexual
violence
to
systems
of
Oppression.
The
theme
of
this
year's
Sexual
Assault
Awareness
Month
campaign
is
drawing
connections.
Prevention
demands
Equity.
The
campaign
calls
on
all
individuals,
communities,
organizations
and
institutions
to
change
the
system
surrounding
us
to
build
equity
and
respect
within
the
community
workplace
and
the
future
Our
Youth
hold.
We
encourage
our
communities
taking
action
to
prevent
sexual
violence.
April
is
sexual
assault
awareness
month
and
each
day
of
the
year
is
an
opportunity
to
create
change
for
the
future.

walk
event
on
Adams
State,
University
campus
at
the
Japanese
garden.
So
right
by
the
crosswalk
we
had
some
students
and
people
from
the
Title
IX
office
join
us.
We
wrote
some
facts
about
sexual
assault.
Some
statistics
statements
about
consent
definitely
go
out
and
check
it
out.

So
survivors
and
allies
have
come
out
and
created
different
pieces
that
can
be
hung
on
the
clothesline
project
to
bring
awareness
to
how
prevalent
of
an
issue.
This
really
is,
and
so
at
our
Bingo
night
event,
we
will
also
be
having
pieces
that
you
can
decorate
if
you
would
like
to
add
anything
to
our
clothesline
project.

Abuse
Prevention
month,
whereas
in
federal
fiscal
year
2021
3.9
million
reports
were
made
to
Child
Protective
Services
and
whereas
child
abuse
and
neglect
is
a
serious
problem
affecting
every
segment
of
our
community
and
finding
Solutions
requires
input
and
action
from
everyone
and
whereas
our
children,
our
most
valuable
resources
and
will
shape
the
future
of
the
city
of
Alamosa.
And
whereas
child
abuse
can
have
long-term
psychological,
emotional
and
physical
effects
that
have
lasting
consequences
for
victims
of
abuse.

whereas
protective
factors
are
conditions
that
reduce
or
eliminate
risk
and
promote
the
social,
emotional
and
developmental
well-being
of
children
and
whereas
effective
Child.
Abuse.
Prevention
activities
succeeded
because
of
Partnerships
created
between
child
welfare
professionals,
Education,
Health,
Community
and
faith-based
organizations,
businesses,
law
enforcement
agencies
and
families.
And
whereas
communities
must
make
every
effort
to
provide
programs
and
activities
that
create
strong
and
thriving
children
and
families.

Theresa
Ortega
I
am
the
executive
director
at
Tu,
Casa
Inc
and
the
Children's
Advocacy
Center
of
the
San
Luis
Valley
I
am
also
a
forensic
interviewer
at
the
right
now.
I
have
a
new
one
in
training,
so
hopefully
that
will
make
my
load
a
little
easier,
but
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you,
as
always
to
the
city
of
Alamosa
and
to
the
city
council
and
the
mayor
for
having
us
and
making
such
an
important
Proclamation
I.
I
Think
most
of
us
in
this
room
would
agree
that
children
are
our
most
valuable
resource
they're.
Our
future
I've
been
working
in
the
realm
of
child
protection
for
about
15
years
now,
in
my
life
and
I
just
want
to
just
highlight
some
of
the
important
work
our
Children's
Advocacy
Center
is
doing
last
year
in
2020
2022,
we
interviewed
92
children,
and
that
was
from
five
different
counties
here
in
the
San
Luis
Valley,
not
including
mineral
we've
provided
around
24
sexual
assault,
nurses,
examinations
and
I.
Believe
10
of
them
were
children.
I
All
of
our
services
are
free
of
charge
and
we
work
with
law
enforcement.
We
work
with
the
Department
of
Social,
Services
or
Human
Services.
We
work
with
Behavioral
Health.
We
work
with
schools.
We
we
pretty
much
work
with
anybody
and
everybody
who
could
come
across
a
case
that
might
involve
a
child
and
our
services
wouldn't
be
here
and
wouldn't
be
available
if
we
didn't
have
that
buy-in
for
our
Community
Partners.
I
So
we're
really
lucky
in
that
aspect
that
we
have
such
amazing
Partners
within
the
community,
and
it
really
is
a
community
effort
to
make
sure
that
we're
taking
care
of
our
kiddos
here
in
the
valley
and
within
the
city
of
Alamosa.
We
have
efforts
now
that
I'm
really
proud
and
excited
to
announce.
We've
brought
back
our
Outreach
and
education
prevention
work.
I
Hopefully
they'll
get
be
getting
into
Alamosa
schools,
but
they've
been
to
Center
to
antonito
Conejos
today
and
they'll,
be
in
Monte,
Vista
soon
and
I
think
also
off
it
right
and
they're
teaching
about
healthy
relationships,
they're
teaching
about
just
giving
kids
skills
so
that
they
can
recognize
and
take
with
them.
As
they
get
older
and
to
hopefully
decrease
the
need
for
a
place
like
tukasa
Inc,
so
really
excited
I.
We
have
a
lot
of
things
happening
at
Tsukasa,
Inc,
so
I
encourage
you
to
kind
of
keep
your
eye
out.
I
We
use
those
to
make
posters
so
I
encourage
you
to
look
out
for
those
posters,
they'll
be
up
all
around
the
community,
there's
even
some
that
are
in
Spanish,
and
it's
just
really
exciting
and
that's
possible,
because
we
have
really
great
Community
Partners
that
give
us
prizes
and
make
it
really
exciting
for
our
kiddos.
So
just
keep
an
eye
open
for
us.
We're
also
going
to
be
having
a
lunch
and
learn
on
the
third
Wednesday
of
this
month
at
the
behavioral
health
group.
I
Building
in
the
conference
room
behind
the
airport,
cafe
where
our
Children's
Advocacy
Center
will
actually
be
presenting
for
the
community
to
come
and
learn
more
about
it.
So
we're
really
excited
again.
We
appreciate
this
platform
and,

we
encourage
you
to

us
your

our
social

we've

a
system

accountability.

really

always

start
this
by
reminding
Council
that
the
Boys
and
Girls
Clubs
of
the
San
Luis
Valley
was
started
right
here,
not
in
this
room.
I
wish
it
was
in
this
room,
but
it
was
started
right
here
with
this
council
with
four
young
people
who
were
talking
with
their
probation
officer
and
their
probation
officers
said.
Why
can't
you
get
right?
What
is
wrong
with
you
guys?
Why
can
you
not
stay
out
of
trouble
and
they
said
we
have
nothing
to
do
in
this
community.
There's
not
a
space
for
us.
That's
positive!

You
hope
to
invest
in
the
history
of
the
Boys
and
Girls
Club
almost
30
years
ago,
and
we're
still
going
really
strong.
We
thought
about
taking
this
year
off.
You
know
we're
kind
of
tired
from
2022,
but
then
there
was
so
much
exciting
work
to
do
that,
we
decided
we
needed
to
step
up
and
that's
really
been
our
role
time
after
time.
I
think
that
you'll
hear
in
our
presentation
today.
We
continue
to
be
committed
to
stepping
up
for
our
community.

start
with
Amaya
Garcia
White
Buffalo,
who
was
our
2022
Youth
of
the
year
she's
from
lahara,
amazing,
basketball,
player,
amazing
student
and
she
actually
won
the
Colorado
State
youth
of
the
Year
competition
and
represented
us
Los,
Angeles,
Valley
and
the
southwest
region.
She
received
recently
a
phone
call
from
the
governor
of
the
state
of
Colorado.
She
was
honored
at
his
State
of
the
State
address
in
Denver
just
a
few
months
ago.

We're
doing
amazing
work
and
I
continue
to
be
inspired
by
the
amazing
young
people
that
we
have
in
this
Valley,
the
talent
that
is
already
here.
If
we
can
just
polish
that
Pearl
a
little
bit
I
want
to
take
a
moment
to
recognize
the
work
that
Adam
State
University
does
in
exactly
that
same
way.
Adam
State
University
is
a
place
where
undiscovered
treasure
is
discovered
every
year
they
they
polish,
the
pearls
of
Genius
every
day
in
those
Halls,
so
really
appreciate.

The
work
that
you
all
did
I
was
I
was
making
some
notes,
thinking
about
how
I
would
share
with
you
what
we
have
done,
and
it
was
really
great
for
me,
because
I
started
with
just
a
couple
things
and
then
I
added
some
more
things
and
I
added
some
more
things.
Over
the
course
of
this.
Last
year
we
upgraded
our
bathrooms
for
the
first
time
in
20
years
to
that
building
now
y'all.
That
may
not
seem
like
a
big
deal,
but
trust
me.
It
is
a
big
deal.
J
Not
only
were
they
20
year
old
bathrooms,
where
young
people
were
doing
bathroom
things,
but
additionally,
it
was
our
number
one
safety
issue
in
the
club.
It's
where
we
had
a
whole
lot
of
safety
issues.
Bullying
happen
in
there,
because
staff
were
hesitant
to
monitor
what
happened
in
those
bathrooms.
So
we
just
blew
the
walls
out
it's
open.
Now
everybody
can
see
what's
going
on
and
the
the
number
of
safety
incidents
in
those
bathrooms
have
decreased.
J
For
us,
our
Ada,
which,
which
is
one
of
our
lead,
metrics
average
daily
attendance,
is
up
we're
seeing
an
average
of
118
young
people
today
at
our
Alamosa
site,
with
highs
above
130.,
now
y'all,
that's
Peak
levels
before
the
pandemic
and
that's
really
important
because
we're
recovering
right.
We
spent
a
couple
of
years
where
we
saw
just
a
couple:
kids,
40,
kids,
60,
kids,
but
they're
starting
to
come
back
now
we
served
over
200
young
people
across
the
San
Luis
Valley
in
the
last
year.
You
can
pull
out
this
little
shiny
thing.
J
It's
our
impact
report.
It
talks
a
little
bit
more
about
who
those
young
people
are
and
how
many
of
them
we
serve.
One
thing
that
we're
really
proud
to
share
in
terms
of
our
work
with
with
this
council
is
that
you
all
have
been
asked
us
to
invest
historically
in
providing
healthy
meals.
We
served
over
20
000,
healthy
snacks
to
young
people
last
year
and
I
think
that
that's
a
massive
accomplishment.

In
addition
to
this,
we
are
still
going
strong
in
our
teen
center
we're
starting
to
see
those
numbers
pick
back
up
to
15,
plus
young
people
a
day
that
arcade
is
a
youth-run
business.
Young
people
are
learning
the
skills
that
they
need
to
go
out
and
be
entrepreneurs
to
run
businesses
now
they're,
not
making
any
money.

So
we
got
some
work
to
do
there.
We
have
some
ideas:
we've
been
working
with
Liz
and
and
her
team
over
at
Adam
state
to
make
sure
that
we
can
generate
some
income
from
it.
But
it's
a
part
of
a
bigger
initiative
that
we
have
around
Workforce
Development
we've
partnered
deeply
with
our
schools
across
the
San
Luis
Valley
Alamosa
school
district,
Adams
State
University
in
Trinidad
State
to
make
sure
that
we're
doing
what
we
need
to
I
said
it
once
Priscilla
did
a
great
job.
She
called
me
afterwards.

said
I,
think
I
heard
you
say
that
we're
going
to
give
young
people
the
skills
to
go
wherever
that
they
want,
but
we
hope
that
they
stay
here
and
that's
really
what
that
program
is
all
about.

I
said
that
I
forgot,
we
also,
you
may
have
heard
some
rumors.

We
are
opening
up
a
Workforce
Innovation
Hub
in
downtown
Alamosa,
we're
purchasing
a
building,
we're
going
to
put
in
a
space
where
five
other
non-profits
can
work
together
in
a
shared
office,
space
to
really
add
value
to
the
downtown
and-
and
we're
really
excited
about
what
we're
doing
with
that.
It
will
also
increase
our
Workforce
Development
work
in
the
valley.
We
now
have
54
FTE
positions,
that's
crazy
right,
like
54,
I'm,
sorry
54
employees,
not
FTE
54
employees.
When
I
started
there
was
seven
right,
so
that's
really
big.

We
currently
have
six
sites
across
the
valley.
We
will
grow
to
eight
by
fall
of
this
year.
That
includes
crestone
Moffett,
so
watch
Center,
Sierra
Grant
antonito,
the
teen
center
Alamosa.
We're
really
trying
to
hold
our
commitment
of
being
the
Boys
and
Girls
Clubs
of
the
San
Luis
Valley.
We
take
that
seriously,
but
we
also
know
we
have
a
lot
more
work
to
do.
In
the
last
year,
we've
lost
tragically
two
we've
had
two
young
people
involved
in
shootings
incidents
of
violence
with
our
Law
Enforcement
Officers.

J
We
have
to
think
deeply
as
a
community
about
how
we're
going
to
respond
to
the
four-day
school
week
when
Alamosa
schools
shift
into
a
four-day
school
week.
What
are
we
going
to
do
for
the
full
Fridays?
What
does
that
do
to
employers?
What
does
that
do
to
young
people
and
families
we're
going
to
continue
to
step
up
into
that
space?
We
have
an
anticipation
that
that's
going
to
cost
our
organization.

Ninety
two
thousand
dollars
to
support,
but
we're
going
to
be
there
we're
going
to
be
there,
because
it's
a
commitment
that
we
made
to
this
community
we're
also
talking
about
adding
an
additional
site
at
the
Alamosa
K2
building,
so
that
those
kindergarteners
through
second
graders
can
stay
in
one
place
instead
of
having
to
shift
to
the
Boys
and
Girls
Club
and
be
in
a
place
with
older
kiddos.
That
reality
is
six-year-olds
talk
about
totally
different
things
than
11
year
olds
do
right
and
you
don't
necessarily
want
your
six-year-old
learning.

We
just
heard
two
proclamations
about
the
massive
need
and
the
work
that
Tu
Casa
does
in
this
community
cannot
be
understated
massive
celebration
for
the
work
that
they're
doing
and
they're
a
key
partner
for
for
us
at
the
end
of
the
day.
Boys
and
Girls
Club
is
about
providing
safe
spaces
with
fun
and
a
sense
of
belonging.
We're
going
to
continue
to
commit
to
that
for
another
30
years.

We're
also
doing
some
work.
I
just
want
to
put
this
in
here
to
to
establish
an
early
Care,
Learning
Center.
We've
talked
about
that,
but
I
just
want
to
appreciate
again
Council
support
so
far
in
our
applications
to
get
design
engineered
buildings
to
have
a
safe
space
for
our
young
people
before
the
age
that
they
qualify.
For
Boys
and
Girls
Clubs,
thank
you
Council.
We
appreciate
the

mentioned

a

this
community
that
came
together.
That
said,
how
are
we
going
to
protect

kids?

Partnerships

were
created
back
then

once
again
came
back

our
Council
and

so
much
money
down
we're

raise
the
rest
of
the
money

committed

continuously
supporting
that,
because
it's
something
that
you
need

continuously
support

But
it's
been

partnership.

leaders,

yourself,
we've
had

lot
of
great
leaders,

Years,

yourself
seems
like
every
year
you
get
a
leader.

plus
the

It's

very
last
page

you

any
of
these
maps
are
defensible
from.
You
know
our
objective
standards
that
we
try
to
use
to
make
Fair
election
words
so
just
to
kind
of
describe
each
of
them
very
quickly.
The
first
map
is
the
one
that
was
recommended
by
the
committee.

You
know
to
the
second
meeting,
and
you
know:

certainly
think
that
they
all
deserve
a
substantial
amount
of
recognition
for
the
amount
of
work
that
they
did.
This
map
is
probably
the
most
balanced
that
we
have
of
the
three.
As
far
as
being
even
as
far
as
population
and
voters
is
also
very
Compact
and
it
works
in
a
lot
of
ways
following
our
work
session
a
couple
of
weeks
ago,
you
know
there
were
certainly
a
lot
of
really
great
discussions.

There's
some
general
consensus,
but
also
you
know
some
observations,
some
concerns,
and
we
certainly
take
that
very
very
seriously
and
and
wanted
to
present
some
different
options
as
well.
So
counselor,
grego
and
I
got
to
sit
down
and
actually
make
a
map
together
using
his
his
recommendations,
and
that
is
the
second
map.
So
it's
it's
a
slight
alteration
from
the
map
that
was
proposed
by
the
committee.

You
know
all
of
your
comments
from
the
work
session.
There's
kind
of
a
light
bulb
moment
that
hit
all
of
us
with
the
map
proposed
by
the
committee,
and
that
was
you
know,
an
acknowledgment
that
hypothetically,
you
could
have
all
seven
elected
officials
residing
north
of
Main
Street,
and
you
know,
while
that
isn't
necessarily
a
good
or
bad
thing,
I
think
it's
certainly
something
that
we
want
to
be
very
cognizant
of
that.

So
this
map
is
maybe
slightly
off
balance,
particularly
in
Ward
three,
that's
where
it's
shorted,
the
most
and
really
that
is
done
intentionally,
because
we
all
are
anticipating
substantial
growth
in
the
next
two
years.
That
would
balance

out
fairly
well,
so
each
one
of
these
Maps
represent
some
sort
of
compromise
again
I
think
we
all
from
a
staff
perspective,
would
support
any
of
these
I
think
they're
all
defensible.
We
might
have
a
slight
preference
towards

Consolidated
core
for
a
handful
of
reasons,
but
certainly
it
does
change
some
things.

most

ward
two
that
were
substantial,
but
you
can
see
when
counselor

Hill
brought
up
how
much
the
proposed
one
was
kind
of
breaking
up
that
Ward
one
area
that
felt
like
a
neighborhood.

that's
the
main
accomplishment
from
this
map.
Part
of
part
of
protecting.
That
neighborhood,
though,
then,
is
pushing
Ward
3
in
Ward
for
to
to
the
main
street
and
I
know
for
for
counselor
griego.
You

he

much
was
trying
to
do
the
value
of
continuing
to
to
not
to
wear
down
this
north-south
type
of
thing
and
and
so,
as
as
we
were
working
with
councilor
griego.
The
language
we
used,
which
I
think
is
helpful,
is
these
are
all
very
important
values.

them
are
are
on
the

south
side,
with
Ward
one
being
much
more
Consolidated
in
that
core
area.
My
recommendation
to
you
is:
there's

lot
of
weight
to
put
on
all

counsel
leans

the

really
do
feel
that
counselor
gregos
changes
are

very
close
to
what

recommendation

community

covered,
underneath
the
state
definition
of

school
perspective,
and
if
we
wanted
to
have
a
consideration
of
how
close
do
we
want
some
of
those
retail
establishments
as
well
and
I
want
to
be
clear.

not
the
restaurant
where
you
go

you
consume
and
drink
a
beverage
while
you're

eating
these
would
be
where
there's
purchases

Out
type
of
situation.

order
for
us

really

short-term
rental

kicked
out

them

doing
something
right

really
feel

Our
city
has
stepped
up
in
a
way
that
we
really
need
to
be
proud
of,
and
we
really
need
to
continue
to
provide
the
energy
around
that
for
our
staff
to
be
able
to
participate
and
collaborate,
because
without
that
support
from
us
and
the
the
leadership
that
it
takes
to
to
allow
that,
we
will
slide
very
quickly
back
into
a
place.
That's
not
okay
for
our
community
and
not
okay
for
our
team
and
I.
Just
really
wanted
to
say
thank
you
for
being
at
the
table.

What's
this
going
to
look
like,
and
and
can
we
justify
this,
but
it
changed
it
from
where
myself,
as
a
city
manager,
is
writing
grants
for
the
downtown
and
then
having
to
make
sure
the
downtown
plan
is
being
implemented
and
then
writing
the
grant
for
the
housing
and
making
sure
that
and
then
Deacon,
not
knowing
whose
bosses,
and
is
it
the
Public
Works
director
or
the
city
manager?
And
it's
you
know
it.

It
really
helped
get
some
of
that
workload,
one
in
the
hands
of
extremely
capable
people
that
were
going
to
take
it
a
lot
further.
But
it
freed
me
up
for
some
of
these
Community
conversations
that
don't
fit
in
any
one
Department
all
the
time
and
and
so
I
I,
just
that's
not
possible
without
taking
those
steps,
not
really
knowing
what
the
impact's
going
to
be
and
so
I
just
it's
been
a
good
trusting
relationship
between
staff
and
Council,
and
so
thank
you
for
that.

just
go
ahead
and
wrap
things
up.
I
had
to
Fortune
opportunity
today
to
be
with
Miss
Brooks.
As
we
welcome
some
of
the
HUD
administrative
leaders,
we
had
the
regional
administrator,
Miss
Dominic
Jackson,
who
came
into
town
alone
with
her
team.
They
were
here
to
give
the
Pointe
an
award
of
I
believe
before
Grant
over
100
800
and
one
thousand
dollars,
and
it
shows
the
collaboration
effort
between
our
stakeholders
as
well
as
the
city.

also
had
a
commissioner
Vern
hersen
there
as
well,
but
I
I
couldn't
be
more
prouder
of
our
city
manager,
Heather
Brooks,
who
represented
the
city
on
a
huge
level
to
where
she
had
their
undivided
attention,
and
she
was
in
rare
form,
mixing
and
mingling
with
everyone
there,
and
all
of
that
is
so
important,
because
the
people
can
actually
feel
her
real
sense
of
Pride
about
our
community
and
her
dedicated
commitment
to
making
sure
that
Housing
Opportunity.
