We're
joined
this
morning
by
The
Honorable
Casey
maddu,
the
deputy
premier
The
Honorable
David
Egan,
the
MLA
for
Edmonton
Northwest,
special
guests
from
the
Salvation
Army
members
of
the
Royal
Canadian
Legion
Kingsway
branch
in
the
South
Alberta
light
horse.
Color
Guard
I'd
also
like
to
welcome
the
honorable
Rick
McIver
MLA
for
Calgary
Hayes,
representing
the
members
of
the
legislative
assembly
of
Alberta
I,
noticed
that
there
are
a
number
of
legislative
officers
here
joining
us
this
morning
and,
of
course,
Ministers
of
the
government
of
Alberta
as
well
as
members
of
the
assembly.
C
I
would
also
like
to
take
particular
note,
and
it
brings
me
great
pleasure
to
welcome
students
from
the
a
Blair
McPherson
School
that
are
seated
in
the
Rotunda
and
joining
us
on
the
third
floor
balcony
today
for
our
ceremony.
It
is
my
great
honor
and
pleasure
to
be
able
to
have
the
next
generation
of
albertans,
remembering
with
us,
it's
wonderful
to
be
able
to
gather
again
in
person
and
pay
tribute
to
our
fallen
soldiers,
our
courageous
veterans
and
our
current
military
personnel.
C
C
We
also
take
time
to
recognize
the
families
and
the
loved
ones
of
our
troops.
They
too
have
made
a
daunting
sacrifice
that
few
of
us
could
understand.
They
endure
long
separations
from
their
loved
ones,
many
times
not
knowing
where
they
are
or
will
they
return
their
unwavering
support
for
these
Partners
parents.
Children
who
bravely
face
Danger
on
the
front
lines
is
admirable
and
we
thank
them
for
their
commitment.
C
E
Today
we
remember
all
of
those
who
have
served
our
nation,
our
flag,
our
ideals
and
our
values,
with
all
you
all
an
immeasurable
that
that
we
can
never
repair
every
year.
At
this
time,
we
recognize
all
the
courageous
men
and
women
who
have
served
and
who
continue
to
serve
our
nation
in
times
of
War,
peace,
conflict
and
natural
disasters,
as
we
are
often
reminded,
including
right
now
in
Ukraine,
freedom
is
never
free.
E
While
we
are
often
quick
to
cherish
our
freedom
today,
we
take
the
time
to
say
thank
you
to
all
our
servicemen
and
women
who
have
defended
those
values
and
freedom,
and
thank
you
for
Fighting,
For,
Peace
and
democracy
right
here
at
home
and
all
across
our
world,
and
thank
you
for
continuing
to
stand
on
God
and
you
do
so.
Should
you
be
called
upon
again
to
serve.
E
F
F
F
Unfortunately,
these
missions
have
come
at
a
great
cost.
Many
have
given
their
lives
and
those
that
survive
continue
to
fight
those
battles
in
both
their
minds,
their
bodies
and
their
hearts.
We
pray
for
those
who
have
lost
their
lives
and
reiterate
our
support
for
those
who
had
made
it
home
but
suffer
physically
or
mentally
because
of
their
commitment
to
the
cause.
F
We
can
never
repay
the
enormous
debt
that
we
all
owe
them,
but
we
can
honor
their
bravery
and
patriotism
by
always
remembering
their
sacrifices.
Today
and
every
day,
we
would
like
to
thank
and
remember
Canadian
service
members
to
their
commitment
to
keeping
Canadians
and
people
around
the
world
safe.
F
G
In
Flanders
Fields
the
poppies
blow
between
the
crosses
row
on
row
that
Mark
our
place
and
in
the
sky,
the
Larks
still
bravely
singing
fly
scares
her
to
Mid
the
guns
below
we
are
the
dead
short
days
ago
we
lived,
felt,
Dawn,
saw
Sunset,
glow
loved
and
were
loved,
and
now
we
lie
in
Flanders
Fields
take
up
our
Coral
with
the
foe
to
you
from
failing
hands.
We
throw
the
torch,
be
yours
to
hold
it
high.

Let's
pray
together,
almighty,
God
creator
of
Heaven
and
Earth.
We
acknowledge
your
presence
here
with
us.
During
this
service
of
remembrance,
we've
been
reminded
of
soldiers
who
have
served
in
the
Canadian
Forces
and
through
their
service
we
have
the
privilege
of
living
freely
in
Canada.
Thank
you
for
their
service,
their
sacrifice.
B
This
morning
we
are
mindful
of
those
who
have
served
their
country,
our
country
and
have
been
wounded
or
have
lost
their
lives
for
these
individuals.
We
are
particularly
mindful
grateful
thankful
and
we
express
our
gratitude
to
you
for
each
of
them
for
their
service
and
sacrifice
God
for
the
soldiers
currently
serving
at
home
or
abroad.
