at
any
time
during
the
ceremony
to
allow
all
guests
to
hear
the
names
of
all
of
the

A
Please

of
the

Is
it
on
oh?
Well,
everyone
please
stand
for
the
presentation
of
colors
and
remain
standing
for
the
national
anthem.
The
national
anthem
was
recorded
by
the
annapolis
high
school
seniors,
kiaja,
austin,
madison,
tucker,
natalie,
wood
and
jackson
moore.
Please
remain
standing
until
the

C
Thank
you
for
your
sacrifices
and
understanding,
especially
when
the
dining
room
table
became
our
classroom,
teachers
and
staff.
I
cannot
express
enough
gratitude
not
only
for
believing
us,
even
when
not
a
single
person
turned
on
their
camera,
but
believing
in
yourself,
as
you
were,
forced
to
adjust
to
a
whole
new
way
of
teaching.
C
D
Good
evening
families,
staff
distinguished
guests
and,
most
importantly,
the
annapolis
high
school
class
of
2022.
It
is
great
to
see
so
many
of
our
panthers
here
tonight.
I'm
thrilled
to
be
celebrating
the
senior
class
with
all
the
members
of
the
panther
family
as
we
prepare
to
award
our
graduating
seniors
their
high
school
diplomas.
D
Four
years
ago
you
began
your
high
school
journey
on
your
first
day
of
school.
You
walked
into
the
auditorium
of
annapolis,
high
school,
looked
around
at
the
sea
of
students
and
listened
as
I
welcomed
you
to
the
panther
family
and
talked
about
the
start
of
the
journey
and
adventure
that
you
were
about
to
embark
on
when
I
think
about
how
far
you've
each
come
since
that
morning
in
2018,
I
think
about
the
term
perseverance.
D
I
think
about
the
fact
that
when
you
left
middle
school,
you
were
likely
both
excited
and
nervous
for
what
high
school
would
be
like,
making
ongoing
efforts
to
understand
what
actions
you
need
to
take
every
day
to
become
the
best
version
of
yourself
is
possibly
the
most
significant
challenge
that
you
will
face,
but
for
the
class
of
2022
you
entered
annapolis
high
school.
Having
rarely,
if
ever
said,
things
such
as
chromebook
or
google
me.
You
saw
the
school
building
closed
for
a
portion
of
your
10th
grade
year.
D
You
transitioned
to
virtual
learning
during
11th
grade,
you
didn't
re-enter
your
physical
classrooms
until
march,
and
for
that
time
it
was
for
portions
of
each
week
during
your
senior
year
and
your
time
in
the
building.
It
included
adjusting
to
uncertainty
around
various
safety
protocols
as
well
as
figuring
out
what
was
our
new
normal.
But
through
it
all.
You
persevered
and
arrived
here
today
a
better,
stronger
and
more
accomplished
version
of
yourself
that
is
prepared
to
graduate
from
annapolis
high
school.
D
I
challenge
each
of
you
to
take
this
moment,
while
you're
sitting
here
with
your
classmates
and
really
give
some
thought
to
your
next
steps.
I
challenge
you
to
ensure
that
those
next
steps
include
determining
what
is
truly
best
for
you,
rather
than
decisions
based
on
whatever
image
you
think
your
friends
or
peers
or
social
media
acquaintances
might
want
to
see.
I
challenge
you
to
determine
what
you
want
for
yourself
and
how
to
become
the
best
version
of
yourself
possible.
D
Welcome
them
back
into
your
life,
but
don't
let
it
consume
your
energy,
and
while
this
might
be
hard
for
you
to
see
from
your
seats
today,
the
awesome
people
in
your
life
will
embrace
you
for
being
you
they'll,
embrace
you
for
trying
to
be
the
best
version
of
yourself
possible.
They
will
celebrate
your
accomplishments.
D
They
will
embrace
and
support
you
when
you're
struggling
and
if
they
don't,
then
those
people
are
probably
not
ready
to
be
supportive
of
your
next
steps
and
have
maybe
not
earned
your
energy
as
you
prepare
to
receive
your
diploma
today.
I
want
you
all
to
remember
that
you
will
always
be
a
member
of
the
panther
family
that
you
can
always
count
on
your
fellow
alumni
to
celebrate
your
successes
and
raise
you
up
when
you're,
struggling
and
no
matter
where
you
go
in
life,
no
matter
where
you
are.
D
If
somebody
yells
out
a
high,
no
matter
where
you
are
you're
obligated
to
yell,
you
know,
for
me
the
only
thing
that's
going
to
be
more
exciting
than
you
receiving
your
diploma
here
tonight
is
learning
about
all
the
awesome
things
that
you
accomplish
as
alumni
of
annapolis.
High
school,
I
wish
every
single
one
of
you,
the
absolute
best
with
whatever
your
next
steps
are,
and
I
hope
that
wherever
each
member
of
the
class
of
2022
goes
in
life,
that
they're
extremely
happy
and
extremely
proud
to
be
a
panther.
Congratulations
to
all
of
you.

E
Greetings:
annapolis
high
school
seniors,
faculty
and
families.
It
is
my
distinct
privilege
to
stand
here
before
you
this
evening
as
a
proud
panther
parent
since
2014,
and
I'm
delighted
to
join
my
colleagues
joanna
tobin,
president
of
the
board
and
fellow
panther
parent,
mr
silkworth,
vice
president
of
the
board,
and
offer
congratulations
from
the
board
of
education.
E
A
very
special
person
in
my
life
is
sitting
here
among
the
class
of
2022,
and
I
am
incredibly
honored
to
offer
a
few
words
to
you
all
on
this
most
special
occasion
before
I
go
on.
Let
us
all
please
recognize
the
teachers
and
staff
that
made
this
day
possible
through
their
dedication
to
their
students
through
the
most
difficult
of
times.
E
E
E
Every
single
diploma
was
hard
earned
through
years
of
coursework
early
morning,
alarms,
late
nights
of
homework
and
countless
hours
of
studying
many
of
you
did
so
much
more.
The
years
were
filled
with
rehearsals
and
practices,
performances
on
the
stage
and
the
field
connecting
with
friends
in
clubs.
E
E
I
have
a
feeling
you
did
not
get
here
alone.
Remember
the
people.
I
asked
you
to
look
at
moments
ago:
your
family,
your
teachers,
mister
gelinas,
school
counselors,
vice
principals
and
the
friends
sitting
among
you,
someone
encouraged
you,
someone
checked
in
on
you.
Someone
may
be
the
reason
you
got
up
some
days.
E
E
E
This
does
not
change
when
you
walk
out
of
here
today,
a
newly
graduated
adult
ready
to
take
on
the
world
as
new
technology
has
developed
so
rapidly
over
the
not
even
two
decades
of
your
lives.
It
has
become
harder
and
harder
to
put
down
that
phone
or
turn
away
from
that
screen
with
so
much
at
your
fingertips.
E
You
be
the
class
that
teaches
the
next
generation
the
importance
of
human
connection.
Each
of
you
is
entering
a
time
of
great
change.
We
all
know
that
change
is
certain
throughout
life.
Now,
let
me
remind
you
of
a
few
important
tools
you
have
with
you
wherever
you
go,
your
brain
is
what
you
use
to
learn
all
of
this
great
stuff.
That
earned
you
this
diploma
today
and
what
you
will
continue
to
use
as
you
do
new
things.
E
Don't
ever
stop
learning
your
heart
is
what
guides
you,
even
when
your
brain
sometimes
tells
you
something
different,
listen
to
your
heart
and
it
will
take
you
to
amazing
heights
and,
finally,
your
mind.
Your
mind
is
the
place
where
your
heart
and
your
brain
meet,
and
it
is
what
makes
you
you
without
your
mind.
Your
heart
could
lead
you
to
do
foolish
things
and
your
brain
could
prevent
you
from
following
your
heart
and
realizing
your
true
self,
10,
20
and
certainly
30
years
from
now.
E
I
will
leave
you
with
this
quote
from
my
favorite
book,
east
of
eden
by
john
steinbeck,
an
author
I
was
introduced
to
as
an
aacps
student
and
this
I
believe
that
the
free
exploring
mind
of
the
individual
human
is
the
most
valuable
thing
in
the
world,
and
this
I
will
fight
for
the
freedom
of
the
mind
to
take
any
direction
it
wishes
undirected
and
this
I
must
fight
against
any
idea.
Religion
or
government
which
limits
or
destroys
the
individual.
E
F
Good
evening,
everyone
hope
you're
having
a
good
night.
My
name
is
elora
harley
and
I'm
graduating
from
annapolis
high
school.
Even
though
I
live
on
a
farm
in
a
little
town,
20
minutes
south
of
annapolis
called
harwood
as
a
dancer
in
the
pva
program,
I
was
afforded
the
opportunity
to
attend
a
vastly
more
diverse
high
school,
in
contrast
to
my
home
school.
Having
had
the
opportunity
to
go
to
a
diverse
school,
I
am
now
presented
with
another
opportunity
to
write
and
deliver
a
speech
for
the
graduating
class
of
2022.
F
My
parents
always
told
me
that
the
future
is
for
the
taking,
despite
and
because
of
your
past,
coming
from
middle
schools,
all
over
the
county
and
a
few
even
further
before
high
school,
we
were
all
different
people.
The
first
day
of
school,
we
walked
into
unfamiliar
place,
getting
lost
occasionally
seeing
some
familiar
faces
and
a
bunch
of
new
ones.
Looking
around
today,
I
recognize
more
phases
than
I
don't
that
attests
to
the
growth
we've
had
from
trying
new
sports
to
join
a
new
club.
We
came
out
as
different
people
than
we
started.
F
Senior
year
came
fast,
considering
we
that
we
were
robbed
of
a
second
semester
sophomore
year
and
a
junior
year.
It
feels
like
it's
over
too
soon.
It
started
to
really
set
in
when
we
got
dates
for
graduation
and
prom.
Although
when
we
came
back
to
school,
it
felt
like
no
time
had
passed
and
we
were
right
where
we
had
left
off.
We
used
the
pandemic
for
our
gain
learning
more
about
ourselves,
taking
time
for
new
hobbies
spending,
time
with
close
family
and
even
baking
a
loaf
of
bread
or
two.
You
know
the
middle.
F
You
know
we
took
everything
we
learned
from
home
and
took
it
to
school
with
us
in
our
back
pocket,
whether
we
knew
it
or
not.
We
had
developed
compassion
for
one
another,
because
we
were
all
in
the
same
boat
and
community
because
everyone
felt
the
feeling
of
loneliness
a
time
or
two
at
home,
but
these
things
have
become
our
defining
characteristics
and
as
a
class
I
am
proud
to
be
known
as
the
ones
who
came
from
back
from
the
pandemic
even
stronger.
F
However,
high
school
wasn't
always
smooth.
There
were
some
struggles
of
which
I've
had
a
few,
including
injuries,
bad
grades,
mental
health
struggles
which
may
be
different
from
yours,
some
greater
some
less.
But
we
are
the
diamonds.
In
the
rough
we
took
on
those
complications
head
first
and
found
a
new
normal.
That
in
itself
is
an
accomplishment.
F
F
Pressure:
diamonds,
a
staple
of
wealth
and
prosperity,
a
symbol
of
marriage,
a
universal
currency
and
super
cute
on
the
back
of
a
jean
jacket,
they
are
beautiful,
but
require
intense
pressure
to
form
to
be
specific,
725
000
pounds
per
square
inch.
That's
about
86
elephants,
all
standing
on
one
dime
at
times
it
can
feel
like.
We
are
that
dime
small,
but
sturdy
we
never
broke.
F
The
pressure
made
us
stronger
wherever
we
go
next
to
college
university,
the
working
force
or
taking
some
time
off,
we
will
take
it
in
stride
for
mr
sims
emphasizing
us
to
get
to
the
class
and
not
walk
the
halls,
teaching
us
punctuality
to
our
counselors,
who
made
us,
use
the
forever
infamous
navia
teaching
us
patience.
Mr
schaefer,
they
all
saw
the
carbon
when
we
came
in
as
freshmen
and
knew
the
pressures
of
high
school
would
turn
us
into
diamonds
that
will
shine
bright
in
the
real
world.
F
This
pressure
was
quintessential,
making
us
the
hardest
thing
on
earth,
but
giving
off
the
most
beautiful
light
and
glimmer
diamonds
are
representative
of
us.
Despite
what
we
normally
think
of
when
we
envision
a
diamond,
they
come
in
all
different
colors
shapes
and
sizes,
and
when
mined,
no
two
diamonds,
look
exactly
the
same.
Besides
flaws
on
a
diamond
give
character
and
diamonds
would
be
boring
if
they
were
all
perfect
and
the
same
diamonds
require
a
natural
disaster
to
rise
to
the
surface.
F
F
More
specifically,
volcanic
eruptions
without
diving,
too
deep
the
earth
has
to
relieve
pressure
from
within
and
it
does
that
by
volcanic
eruptions
and
when
the
magma
comes
up
so
do
the
diamonds,
but
it
doesn't
spray
out
the
top
they
reside
in
the
earth's
crust.
Natural
disasters
occur
in
our
lives
too
again,
some
the
same,
some
different,
some
greater
some
less,
but
they
can
bring
up
the
most
beautiful
diamonds
to
the
surface.
F
D
Thank
you
elora.
I'd
now
like
to
invite
president
of
the
board
of
education,
dr
tobin,
to
come
to
the
right
podium.
