Well,
we
did
it
class
of
2022.
We
accomplished
a
major
milestone.
We
stand
here
today
on
the
precipice
of
the
future.
It's
not
a
distant
reality
anymore.
It
begins
here.
It
begins
today.
As
I
stand
before
you,
I
feel
the
positive
emotional
energy
filling
this
place
as
graduates
close
one
door
and
open
another
in
life's
journey
graduates.
If
you
are
at
all
apprehensive
about
what
lies
ahead
of
what
lies
ahead
for
you,
rest
assured,
knowing
that
you
are
ready,
your
educational
foundation
is
strong.
D
D
D
D
Graduates,
you
may
be
thinking
back
to
the
days
when
you
forced
yourself
to
get
out
of
bed
to
go
to
school
or
when
you
felt
too
tired
to
finish
your
homework,
but
you
did
even
though
you
may
have
grumbled
at
the
time
inside.
You
were
thankful
that
your
parents,
caregivers
and
most
trusted
adults
in
your
life
were
standing
behind.
You
encouraging
you
to
tackle
another
school
day,
and
once
you
arrived
at
school,
you
were
grateful
for
the
teachers
and
school
staff
who
cared
about
you
encouraged
you
and
were
invested
in
your
future.
D
You
realize
that
you
must
work
to
succeed
and
felt
a
sense
of
pride
when
you
got
that
a
or
made
a
difference
in
your
team's
victory
graduates,
no
matter
how
you
arrived
here
at
this
momentous
event.
Today
it
has
taken
discipline,
hard
work
and
persistence.
Today,
let's
revel
in
the
success
of
this
fine
class
of
2022.
D
So
today,
as
you
close
the
doors
of
high
school,
remember
that
no
matter
where
we
go
or
what
we
do,
there
are
challenges
ahead
of
us.
What
I'm
asking
from
each
one
of
you
and
for
myself
is
to
meet
those
challenges
straight
on
with
your
head
held
high
and
your
heart
wide
open.
It
is
not
enough
to
simply
try
to
get
by
in
life
that
does
not
move
the
world
forward.
D
D
Your
individual
successes
benefit
society,
because
when
you
succeed,
you
lighten
the
burden
on
your
fellow
man
and
woman.
When
you
succeed,
you
are
able
to
give
rather
than
take.
While
we
may
not
have
the
power
to
inspire
the
entire
world
to
strive
for
success,
we
do
have
the
power
to
try
to
achieve
it
for
ourselves.
D
My
challenge
to
each
of
you
and
to
myself
is
to
do
all
you
can
to
reach
your
full
potential.
If
each
of
us
in
this
graduating
class
is
able
to
do
that,
just
imagine
the
effect
that
we
could
have
on
this
world.
The
future
is
truly
in
our
hands,
so
let
us
make
the
most
of
it.
Thank
you
very
much
once
again
welcome.
A
A
A
A
B
B
B
on
behalf
of
the
faculty
of
phoenix
academy,
congratulations,
you
are
about
to
embark
upon
a
journey
where
you
get
to
decide
the
path
you
take
and
the
effort
you
put
forth.
Are
you
ready?
Are
you
prepared
years
from
now?
You
will
be
in
a
position
to
look
back
upon
the
person
you
were
and
the
person
you
are
your
time
here
at
phoenix
academy
has
prepared
you
to
be
a
force
within
a
world
that
is
desperate
to
hear
your
voice.
B
The
word
commencement
means
the
beginning.
Graduation
is
not
the
beginning
step
to
becoming
the
person
you
always
wanted
to
be.
This
is
the
beginning
step
to
taking
advantage
of
the
person
you
have
already
become
to
embrace
your
creativity,
individuality
spirit
and
personal
life.
This
is
your
chance
to
shine.
B
B
B

B
B
B
F
F
You
are
here,
and
you
have
demonstrated
that,
no
matter
what
the
world
throws
at
you
even
a
pandemic,
nothing
was
going
to
stop
you.
You
made
it,
but
the
truth
is
you've
made
it
through
a
lot
of
things
to
be
here.
Each
person
has
a
story,
and
every
individual
has
had
challenges
along
the
way,
and
that
should
be
the
source
of
great
pride
for
you,
your
families
and
your
friends.
F
It
is
to
all
of
us
at
the
board
of
education
and
to
the
teachers
and
administrators
and
staff
who
have
been
with
you
through
this
journey,
but
it
also
means
that
you
have
developed
skills
that
the
world,
the
rest
of
us
desperately
need.
You've
had
to
figure
out
that
life
and
plans,
don't
always
go
the
way.
You
think
they
will
that
there
are
things
that
can
happen.
That
can
stop
you
in
your
tracks.
F
F
F
F
F
F
G
F
F
F
The
only
way
to
understand
that
is
to
listen
to
those
around
you
and
keep
learning
and
with
listening,
goes
asking
to
know
how
to
learn.
You've
got
to
listen
and
ask
questions
to
decide
what
to
learn.
You've
got
to
do
the
same
thing
and
I
believe
with
all
my
heart
right
now:
that's
what
the
world
needs
most
more
listening
and
asking
and
less
talking
and
telling
we've
never
needed
to
learn
from
one
another.
More
life
is
complex
and
we've
got
big
issues
to
tackle.
F
A
G
Good
morning
class
of
2022
administrators
faculty
and
loved
ones,
my
name
is
elia
shooty,
and
I
am
the
student
ambassador
president
here
at
phoenix
academy.
Before
I
begin,
I
want
to
see
how
proud
of
I
am,
how
proud
I
am
of
every
single
one
of
my
classmates.
You
have
all
worked
so
hard
to
get
here.
You
deserve
to
walk
across
the
stage
today.
There
may
have
been
moments
where
we
felt
like
giving
up
and
saying
I'm
not
doing
this
anymore
out
of
frustration
or
anger.
G
The
best
part
is
that
you
didn't
give
up
from
time
to
time.
I
know
we
have
all
been
doubted
by
others.
That
thought
we
would
not
make
it
to
this
moment
or
those
who
said
we
wouldn't
graduate.
I'm
pretty
sure
that
if
we
are
honest
with
ourselves,
maybe
we
can
admit
that
we've
doubted
ourselves
once
or
twice
too.
G
We
have
people
that
stand
behind
us
to
support
us
on
our
journey,
whether
it's
your
family,
your
friends,
your
mentors
or
anybody
who
just
reminds
you
that
you
can
be
something
great
there
are.
They
are
100
in
your
corner.
They
are
so
right.
Every
person
in
this
room
can
do
whatever
they
choose
to
do
in
life.
Attending
an
alternative
school
doesn't
define
who
you
are,
and
it
never
will.
Our
education
is
not
determined
by
the
location,
but
by
our
willingness
to
show
up
and
learn.
G
We
have
been
labeled,
as
so
many
things
being
here,
and
it
has
taken
me
three
years
of
being
here
to
realize
that
none
of
us
are
any
of
those
negative
things
they
said
about
us.
We
all
come
from
diverse
backgrounds
where
you
come
from
is
what
makes
you
who
you
are
it's?
What
makes
you
you
and
here
at
phoenix
we
all
have
our
own
story
and
after
we
walk
across
this
stage
today
we
will
continue
to
add
many
chapters.
G
Graduation
is
not
an
angle
by
itself,
it's
actually
part
of
a
larger
journey
in
life
and
it's
the
starting
point
for
all
our
achievements
to
come.
Remember
it's
easy
to
be
hopeful
on
a
beautiful
day,
but
there
will
be
dark
days
ahead
of
us
too,
no
matter
how
much
hopelessness
or
despair
you
feel
you
must
hold
on
to
hope
and
keep
it
alive.
My
wish
for
you
is
to
become
hope.
G
G
To
say
that
we
did
it,
our
families
watched
us
walk
to
our
bus
on
our
first
day
of
kindergarten
and
you'll,
be
watching
us
walk
across
this
stage
to
receive
our
high
school
diploma,
and
I
can
feel
the
pride
in
this
room
class
of
2022.
It's
our
time
to
write
the
next
chapter
to
our
stories.
Congratulations.
B
B
A
B
H
As
I
look
around
the
room,
there
are
so
many
fond
memories
and
endearing.
Colleagues,
thank
you
for
inviting
me
back
now
seniors
today
wraps
up
your
phoenix
memories,
which
includes
waking
up
at
the
crack
of
dawn
traveling
from
every
corner
of
the
county
to
get
to
school.
You
were
engaged
in
instruction,
completed
assignments
and
returned
almost
every
day
to
make
this
day
a
reality
that
takes
grit
all
of
your
hard
work,
sprinkled
with
supportive
teachers
and
a
few
laps
around
the
hall
has
culminated
into
a
nice
tassel
seniors.
Your
high
school
experience
was
unprecedented.
H
H
H
Well,
it's
not
covered.
Lord
knows
we
heard
enough
about
it
and
we
are
still
experiencing
the
vile
effects
from
this
deadly
virus.
It's
not
cancer.
This
disease
has
ravaged
families
and
made
many
of
you
grow
up
before
your
time.
What
I
do
want
you
to
remember
is
the
big
sea
of
confidence.
Yes,
confidence.
H
H
H
I
was
in
graduate
school
at
one
of
the
top
schools
in
the
country,
and
I
had
a
professor
tell
me
this
is
after
I
failed.
This
exam
that
I
would
never
earn
my
degree
instead
of
getting
to
breath
depressed
and
thinking
he
was
right.
I
twisted
my
hand
my
head
too
and
pulled
out
my
big
sea
of
confidence.
H
Knowing
that
I
had
the
ability
to
finish-
and
I
did
now
seniors,
I
want
you
to
walk
into
every
room
and
in
every
situation
being
aware
and
sure
of
your
abilities
and
qualities
to
be
successful.
You
are
almost
phoenix
graduates
and
you
are,
you
have
weathered
many
storms,
but
you
made
it
class
of
2022.
H
H
Then
there
are
many
of
you
who
will
probably
be
entrepreneurs
focusing
on
different
industries
like
farming,
footwear,
food
hospitality,
cosmetology
and
social
media.
Like
robert
brianna
anissa,
emily
kendall,
jeremiah
r.j,
eric
and
quiante
riley,
you
probably
will
develop
a
game
even
better
than
fortnite.
H
B
Conferring
the
diplomas
this
morning
will
be
the
honorable,
dr
joanna
tobin,
president
of
the
anne
arundel
county
public
school
board
of
education.
Following
this.
No,
you
could,
following
this,
ms
sarah
egan
assistant
superintendent
for
student
support
services
will
join
dr
tobin
in
congratulating
our
graduates
on
this
momentous
accomplishment
as
they
cross
the
stage.
G
F
E
E
J
To
decorate
the
graduates
caps
during
the
ceremony,
but
it
has
come
to
have
symbolism
as
well
the
gesture
of
moving
the
tassel
from
one
side
of
the
cap
to
the
other
symbolizes,
the
individual's
movement
from
candidate,
to
graduate
some
believe.
The
reason
why
you
place
the
tassel
on
the
right
side
is
because
you've
earned
the
right
to
graduate
moving
the
tassel
to
the
left
after
graduation
is
symbolic
of
crossing
over
from
high
school
or
when
you
go
to
college
college
to
another
stage
in
your
life.
So
this
isn't
the
beginning.
This
is
not
the
end.
