C
Here
we
are
look
around
you
at
your
peers,
your
family,
your
teachers,
your
administrators
and
your
friends,
we're
surrounded
by
the
people
who
love
us
and
support
us
in
one
way
or
another.
You
have
played
a
role
in
getting
us
here
and
on
behalf
of
the
class
of
2022.
We
are
deeply
grateful
for
all
you've
invested
in
us.
C
Through
the
years
I
have
watched
many
of
you
grow
into
the
beautiful
people,
I'm
looking
at
right
now.
I've
seen
all
I've
seen
you
all
change
your
styles,
hair,
color
and
even
friend
groups.
I've
also
seen
deeper
changes
in
this
class.
You're,
more
mature,
respectful
and
have
become
stronger
individuals.
C
C
We've
now
come
to
the
end
of
our
high
school
years.
Soon
so
much
will
be
behind
us
behind
us
are
the
days
of
figuring
out
the
best
route
to
our
crush's
classes,
so
we
can
see
them
behind
us.
Are
the
days
of
needing
a
hall
pass
to
get
around
behind
us
are
the
days
of
wondering
when
am
I
going
to
ever
use
this
while
sitting
in
a
math
class?
C
Yes,
these
things
are
behind
us,
but
that
doesn't
mean
they
have
to
stay
there.
All
of
our
experiences,
positive
and
negative,
high
and
low
have
shaped
us
reflecting
on
the
past,
is
an
important
part
of
life.
I
urge
you
to
take
time
over
the
upcoming
days
to
reflect
when
you
look
back
over
your
time
at
south
river.
You'll.
Remember
moments
that
make
you
very
proud,
like
finally
showing
off
that
capstone
project.
You
worked
hard
on
you'll,
also
look
back
on
when
you
learn
some
tough
lessons
like
how
to
survive
a
pandemic.
C
Quarantine
especially
made
this
clear
to
us.
We
had
more
time
to
reflect
on
who
we
were
and
who
we
wanted
to
be.
The
world
slowed
down
for
many,
which
gave
them
the
leeway
to
work
on
themselves,
whether
that
be
seeking
out
help
finding
new
ways
of
happiness
or
even
simply
taking
some
time
to
themselves.
C
One
of
my
favorite
songs
is
thunder
by
imagine
dragons
in
the
song
they
sing.
I
was
uptight,
I
want
to
let
loose.
I
was
dreaming
of
bigger
things
and
want
to
leave
my
own
life
behind
here.
The
singer
is
reflecting
on
life
and
how
he
wants
to
change
the
way
he
is
living.
The
song
inspire
me
is
to
be
the
person
I
want
to
be
and
live
the
way
I
want
to
live
to
this.
Of
course,
I
must
reflect
on
myself,
just
like
the
singer
did.
C
C
Take
this
day,
for
instance,
this
life-altering
event.
High
school
graduation
is
a
perfect
opportunity
to
slow
down
pause.
Even
for
reflection,
we
don't
know
where
life
will
take
us,
so
the
only
thing
we
can
do
is
to
try
to
make
the
best
decisions
we
can
reflecting
on
past
experiences
will
help
us
make
better
decisions
later
on
in
life,
no
matter
what
lies
in
store
for
you
today,
be
it
college,
career
military.
C
You
know
that
you
are
armed
with
the
lessons
you
learned
in
high
school.
As
I
said
in
my
campaign,
video
for
class
president,
I
don't
like
promises
because
there's
an
uncertainty
about
promises
well
class
of
2022.
My
time
with
you
has
wiped
away
any
of
that
all
of
that
uncertainty,
and
I
can
now
promise
you
this.
We
are
destined
for
adventure.
We
are
prepared
to
take
on
the
challenges
of
the
world,
we
have
been
tested
and
we
have
been
triumphant.
C
Michelle
corcodill
was
elected
to
represent
district
7.
As
a
member
of
the
anne
arundel
county
board
of
education
in
2018.,
she
has
spent
her
career
raising
a
family
while
serving
her
community
through
a
variety
of
non-profit
organizations
and
innovating
in
business
here
to
bring
here
to
bring
us
greetings
this
evening.
On
behalf
of
the
board,
please
welcome
miss
michelle
corcodill.
E
E
Teachers
dedicate
themselves
year
after
year
to
finding
new,
innovative
ways
to
teach
you,
dr
george,
arlato
and
his
administration
provided
the
road
map
to
make
sure
that
you
got
there
safe
and
sound
even
despite
a
raging
pandemic.
Despite
the
uncertainty
we
as
a
community
face
this
past
year
and
every
year,
our
communities
and
local
businesses,
volunteers
and
civic
groups
rededicate
themselves
to
supporting
our
schools
all
so.
The
next
generation
can
go
out
into
the
world
well
prepared
and
well
educated,
and
then
we
get
to
maybe
the
most
impressive,
hard-working
team
members.
E
E
E
I
imagine
a
day
years
from
now,
when
you're
going
to
pull
out
an
old
seahawks
t-shirt
from
the
back
of
your
drawer,
be
reminded
with
great
fondness
who
you
are
and
where
you
are
from
in
that
moment.
Remember
today
as
the
beginning
of
the
path
you
will
have
traversed
and
the
people
that
sent
you
forth
from
here,
the
hawk
nest
is
going
to
miss
each
and
every
single
one
of
you
and
for
one
last
time
as
a
seahawk
parent,
as
well
as
your
school
board
representative.
C
Mrs
corkerdill,
the
class
of
2022,
would
like
to
thank
you
for
joining
us
today.
Your
kind
words
of
wisdom
will
be
remembered
as
we
move
forward
in
life's
journey
now,
south
river
high
school's
vocal
ensemble
will
perform
stand
by
me
under
the
direction
of
mr
gerald
cavanaugh.
Please
direct
your
attention
to
the
screen.
D
D
C
F
I
would
like
to
take
a
moment
to
recognize
assistant
principals,
miss
buckley
and
mr
vashon
and
the
senior
class
advisors
miss
ellis
and
miss
morgan
for
coordinating
tonight's
events,
along
with
all
of
the
other
senior
activities
over
the
course
of
this
school
year.
So
thank
you
for
all
of
your
hard
work.
You
have
helped
make
this
year
memorable
and
one
for
our
students,
and
you
are
truly
appreciated.
F
Graduates
I
stand
before
you
this
evening,
proud
and
humbled
to
serve
as
the
principal
of
south
river
high
school.
I've
watched
the
class
of
2022
navigate
a
global
pandemic
virtual
and
hybrid
learning
formats,
all
while
setting
the
bar
high
and
establishing
a
new
standard
of
excellence
for
future
classes
to
reach.
F
F
Over
a
century
ago,
tennyson
wrote
of
all
sad
words
of
tongue
or
pen.
The
saddest
are
these,
it
might
have
been.
I
am
proud
to
say
that
this
senior
class
will
have
no
regrets
when
you
reflect
on
all
that
you
have
accomplished
during
your
time
at
south
river
in
the
years
to
come.
I
imagine
that
you
will
spend
time
reminiscing
with
classmates
and
what
stories
you
will
have
to
tell.
F
F
F
F
Their
love
for
you,
along
with
their
tough
words
of
guidance,
have
helped
you
cross
the
stage
today,
I'm
sure
over
the
past
four
years.
Your
journey
to
graduation
did
not
always
go
as
planned,
and
I
know
that
your
loved
ones
have
assured
you
that
your
future
endeavors
will
provide
an
equal
if
not
greater
number
of
challenges,
but
you
have
developed
the
skills
necessary
to
carry
you
forward
on
your
journey.
F
F
G
G
G
G
Now
every
class
has
their
defining
moments.
These
are
events
that
everyone
witnesses
experiences
even
that
unite
us
as
a
class
from
social
justice
endeavors
to
a
riveting
presidential
election,
international
conflicts
and,
of
course,
the
elephant
in
the
room,
the
kovid
19
pandemic.
The
class
of
2022
has
truly
been
through
a
lot,
yet
we
surpassed
all
odds
when
we
had
to
acclimate
to
a
virtual
classroom
environment.
G
We
did
when
our
athletes
had
to
adjust
their
schedules
completely
in
order
to
make
an
alternative
season
work,
they
did
when
we
had
to
abide
by
ever
changing
guidelines
and
regulations
coming
from
every
which
direction
we
did.
When
our
student
organizations
had
to
find
creative
ways
to
engage
their
peers
online,
they
did
that
grit
and
determination.
G
G
How
are
you
going
to
take
the
skills
that
you've
learned
and
use
them
to
make
the
world
a
better
place?
Remember
you
survived
a
pandemic.
Your
grit
and
determination
is
the
reason
why
you're
here
today
when
I
was
in
fifth
grade,
I
included
this
very
quote
from
dr
seuss's.
Oh,
the
places
you'll
go
in
my
elementary
school
promotion
ceremony
speech
as
we
were
transitioning
from
fifth
grade
to
sixth
grade,
so
it
only
makes
sense
to
end
with
the
same
quote.
G
G
F
And
now
I
have
the
distinct
honor
of
recognizing
members
of
the
senior
class
who
have
displayed
a
tremendous
amount
of
dedication
to
academics
over
the
course
of
their
high
school
career.
We
implemented
the
latin
honors
system
in
anne
arundel
county.
The
latin
honors
system
recognizes
exceptional
academic
achievement
by
graduating
students
and
is
delineated
into
three
levels
of
honors
come
law
day
or
with
honors
is
for
students
who
have
received
a
3.4
or
higher
unweighted
gpa,
calculated
after
the
seventh
semester
of
high
school.
F
F
F
And
finally,
summa
laude
or
with
highest
honors,
is
for
students
who
have
earned
a
4.3
weighted,
gpa
or
higher.
These
seniors
are
wearing
gold
stalls
and
they
will
be
recognized
individually
when
their
name
is
called
as
they
receive
their
diploma,
so
miss
corcodell.
Will
you
please
join
me
at
the
other
podium.
F
F
Ladies
and
gentlemen,
the
honorable
member
of
the
board
of
education,
ms
michelle
corcodell,
is
pleased
to
join
me
in
recognizing
our
graduating
class
of
2022,
miss
corcodell
on
behalf
of
the
faculty
and
staff
of
south
river
high
school.
I
recommend
to
you
the
members
of
the
class
of
2022
as
qualified
candidates
for
the
state
of
maryland
diploma
and
certificate.
