Fantastic,
so
we
have
established
our
agenda
order,
item
2.05
is
recognitions
and
we
have
none
this
evening.
Item
2.06
is
the
teachers
association
of
anne
arundel
county,
mr
russell
leone.
G
Good
evening,
vice
president
schallheim
members
of
the
board
and
dr
arlatto,
I'm
russell
leone.
He
him
his
I'm
an
elementary
school
teacher
serving
as
president
of
the
teachers
association
of
anne
arundel
county
and
this
week
marks
the
100th
anniversary
of
american
education
week
and
being
a
proud
public
school
teacher.
I
want
to
start
with
a
mini
history
lesson.
G
G
G
This
is
the
time
to
lift
up
public
education
and
shout
from
the
rooftops
the
amazing
contributions
of
all
those
involved
in
creating
and
building
a
better
society
in
honoring
american
education
week.
I
say,
let's
examine
the
roles
that
each
of
us
play
in
spotlighting.
What
is
great
about
our
public
schools
so
to
the
parents?
G
I
say,
thank
you.
You
are
the
at-home
educators
who
prepare
our
children
for
school
and
supporting
their
learning
with
additional
enrichment
through
real-world
experiences.
With
your
family
and
in
your
community,
we,
the
educators,
have
seen
your
very
vocal
and
public
support
during
these
trying
times
to
our
support
professionals.
G
Our
teachers
would
not
be
as
great
as
they
are
without
you.
You
greet
our
students
with
smiles
and
warmth
and
help
set
them
for
a
positive
day.
You
secure
materials
and
resources.
Our
students
need,
and
you
work
one-on-one
and
in
small
groups,
with
students
to
provide
extra
support,
to
elevate
their
learning
and
to
our
school-based
administrators.
G
They
inspire
students
to
create,
through
words,
music
and
dance
through
our
educators,
passion,
our
students
have
safe
places
to
build,
create
and
analyze
in
order
to
find
solutions
to
complex
problems
or
reimagine
processes
that
are
already
in
place
now,
it
should
not
be
lost
on
any
of
us
that
unit
one
educators
across
this
county
are
participating
in
an
enforcer
contract
action
during
american
education
week.
I
must
thank
the
pta
and
the
association
of
educational
leaders
or
ael
for
their
support
in
our
efforts
to
highlight
the
excessive
workload
demands.
Educators
experience
every
day.
G
G
G
So,
let's
not
forget
the
purpose
of
this
week,
informing
the
public
of
the
accomplishments
and
needs
of
the
public
schools
and
to
secure
the
cooperation
and
support
of
the
public
in
meeting
those
needs.
So
let's
ask
ourselves:
are
we
meeting
the
needs
of
our
public
schools?
Have
we
addressed
the
root
of
the
stress
our
families
are
experiencing?
Have
we
addressed
the
needs
of
our
public
schools
by
ensuring
every
student
has
a
teacher
who
isn't
over
worked
or
a
teacher
and
teaching
assistant
who
isn't
pulled
from
them
frequently
to
cover
other
classes?
G
It's
time
for
us
to
openly
negotiate
these
needs.
So
there's
no
question
of
who
is
doing
what.
So
it
was
our
union
who
recognized
the
value
of
our
public
schools
to
add
to
our
society
in
1921,
and
it
is
our
union
today
that
advocates
for
those
same
values.
So
I
won't
end
by
saying
happy
american
education
week.
I
will
say
end
by
saying:
let's
work
together
to
have
the
best
american
education
period.
Thank
you.
C
H
Thank
you
vice
president
shawheim,
so
the
equity
committee
met
last
week
and
we
invited
the
local
organization
connecting
the
dots
to
present
to
us
various
ways
in
which
we,
as
the
committee
members
and
them
as
members
of
the
community,
can
work
together
to
address
bias,
incidents,
racial
incidents
and
other
inequities
that
are
occurring
in
their
communities.
H
It
was
a
long
presentation
working
with
members
of
dr
alato's
staff
and
members
of
our
cac
committee,
but
they're
the
type
of
conversations
that
we
want
to
continue
to
have
so
that
when
we
talk
about
fixing
equity,
we're
not
just
doing
it
as
individuals
who
are
guessing
about
what's
going
on
in
their
own
communities
but
reaching
out
to
those
who
have
the
problems
that
face
them
and
their
children.

C
So
next
we're
going

have
a
public

I'm
going
to

this
briefly
for
those
in
the
room
and
then
we're
going
to
start
with
virtual
public

before
we
go
to
the

So,
okay,
so
for
everyone,
whether
they're,
virtual

in-person,
speakers
will
be
allotted
two
minutes
each
and
may
not
allocate
their

E
Speaking
on
item
3.06
superintendent's
report
is
ms
latika
hicks.
Are
you
there
miss
hicks.
K
I
am
referring
to
what
occurred
at
chesapeake
high
school
on
october
20th
of
this
year
and
what
was
supposed
to
be
a
day
of
unity
during
spirit
week,
but
time
turned
into
a
day
of
terror
for
several
lgbtq
african
americans
and
other
minority
students.
On
that
day,
students
paraded
the
school
draped
in
political
campaign,
banners,
political
signs
and
political
flags.
They
changed,
they
chanted
campaign
slogans,
spewed
racial
and
homophobic
epitaphs
towards
their
classmates,
and
not
one
adult
at
the
school
stopped
them.
What
went
wrong?
K
Were
the
staff
complicit,
uninformed
or
afraid?
Why
didn't
they
stop
this
when
taken
by
themselves?
The
students,
behavior
and
language
already
violated
the
policies
on
bullying
bias,
behavior
and
language,
and
safe
and
inclusive
environments
for
lgbtq
plus
students?
But
when
those
students
committed
violations
under
the
guise
of
political
rights,
it
seemed
as
if
staff
were
unclear
or
uncomfortable
with
how
they
should
respond.
K
In
my
search
for
answers,
I
was
pleased
to
discover
that
aacps
has
a
policy
on
student
political
activity.
The
policy
specifically
states
that
quote,
except
for
students
running
for
elective
school
offices,
all
national
or
local
campaign
related
political
activities,
must
be
conducted
outside
of
the
school
day
and
instructional
time
and
shall
not
be
disruptive
to
school
to
the
school
environment.
End
quote
clearly
that
was
not
adhered
to.
The
lack
of
response
to
students,
behaviors
and
actions
that
goes
against
policy
and
healthy
school
culture,
where
all
students
should
be
respected,
indicates
the
depth
of
the
problem.
K
E
K
Basically,
I
just
wanted
to
to
complement
the
calendar
committee
for
their
work.
I
appreciate
their
recommendations
for
both
this
year's
the
remainder
of
this
year,
as
well
as
the
2022
and
2023
calendar,
specifically
with
their
recommendation,
and
I
think
it
was
dr
alato's
recommendation
as
well
to
have
the
holiday
juneteenth
as
a
holiday
on
the
20th.
K
I
think
that
is
an
important
recognition
and
I
would
hope
that
leading
up
to
the
actual
holiday,
when
the
students
and
teachers
are
off,
that
conversations
are
around
race
and
and
racism
in
this
country,
as
well
as
the
many
contributions
of
african
americans
are
discussed,
leading
up
to
that
day.
Thank
you.
C
All
right
proceeding
on
with
our
in-person
speakers,
one
one
bit
that
wasn't
that
was
mentioned
in
the
back
but
wasn't
mentioned
out
here.
Is
that
please
keep
your
your
comments
to
the
item
into
which
you
are
speaking,
the
agenda
item
to
which
you're
speaking
and
I
apologize
in
advance.
If
I
mispronounce
your
name
so
speaking
on
item
3.06
superintendents
report,
I'm
just
going
to
go
ahead
and
call.
C
C
Actually,
I'm
going
to
wait
one
sec
for
dr
tobin
to
join
us
yeah!
Thank
you
and
there
she
is
so
voila
all
right.
I'm
going
to
call
up
all
three
speakers
for
item
3.06
at
once
and
you
may
have
a
seat
at
the
testimony
table:
peggy
williams,
maureen,
wychos
and
cherise
cephas
and
again
I
apologize
profusely.
If
I
have
butchered
your
name.
M
How
did
the
school
system
become
so
messed
up
that
your
staff
are
now
requiring
healthy
students
submit
to
quarantining
cova
testing
and
experimental
mrna
gene
therapy
injections
you're,
not
medical
professionals?
Nor
is
any
of
this
based
on
any
science,
nor
have
any
peer
reviewed.
Scientific
studies
been
provided
to
the
parents,
even
though
many
have
asked
dr
k
for
it
by
now.
It's
plain
to
see
that
this
is
not
about
public
health
at
all.
M
M
I'm
reading
these
ever
changing
aacps
covet
updates,
and
I
can
already
see
that
you're
separating
children
by
injection
status
using
masks
not
to
mention
a
visual
symbol
of
oppression,
not
to
mention
essentially
kicking
the
uninjected
out
of
school.
I've
heard
stories
of
injected
and
uninjected
children
being
physically
separated
in
classrooms
as
well.
M
M
M
Finally,
I
keep
receiving
notices
from
acps
about
cova
cases,
which
proclaim
to
dictate
what
my
family
members
may
and
may
not
do
outside
the
home.
This
is
not
okay,
the
harder
you
force
these
unscientific
and
unlawful
coded
policies.
The
more
parents
will
take
their
kids
out
of
your
school
system.
Thank
you.
N
Thank
you
hi
good
evening.
Vice
president

my
name
is
maureen
liakos
and
I'm
the
department
chair
of
social

for
north

and
I'm
speaking
as
an
individual,
dr
alato,
mr
silkworth.
Thank
you
for
your
continued
support
and
visit
to
our
school.
We
are
honored
to
have
you
in
the
social
studies
department
and
michelle
heim.
N
Thank
you
for
meeting
with
me,
as
I
shared
my
experience
at
north
county
high
school
with
you,
and
if
I
may
have
a
moment
to
thank
dr
mcmahon
and
her
team
for
always
supporting
us
with
great
space
tonight,
you'll
hear
from
educators
on
the
impact
of
decisions
made
by
the
board
and
I'm
here
to
offer
some
solutions
to
these
challenges.

N
N
N
N
Fourth
postpone
all
professional
development
not
related
to
school
operations
such
as
the
equity
pd
on
december
8th.
We
need
this
time
to
meet
with
colleagues
for
grading
and
planning
quality.
Lessons
in
addition,
consider
maybe
the
december
3rd
early
release
day.
That
is
under
consideration
to
january,
to
give
us
a
reprieve.
In
closing,
remember
this
teachers
working
conditions
are
students,
learning
conditions,
educators
deserve
better
students
deserve
better.
We
can
and
must
do
better
together.
Thank
you.
O
Share

she

I'm
here,
because
schools
aren't
operating
in
a
healthy
manner.
I
had
no
time
to
prep,
but
I
wanted
to
come
and
show
you
a
real
world
example
of
what's
happening
in
schools
during
this
moment.
I'm
a
proud
national
board
certified
educator
that
serves
as
the
department
chair
of
annapolis
high
school's
world
languages
team.
I
am
here
because,
unfortunately,
I
cannot
use
my
skills
to
be
an
academic
leader.
I
spend
my
time
as
a
guest
instructor
on
the
day.
O
Most
people
took
a
day
off
due
to
weather
in
my
inbox,
and
my
inbox
was
accosted
with
a
letter
telling
me
to
get
used
to
the
new
normal.
I
realized
it
was
imperative
for
me
to
show
you
what
we
are
not
going
to
be
able
to
have
that.
We
are
not
going
to
be
able
to
have
a
successful
operations
with
overworked,
overwhelmed
and
underpaid
educators.
I
spent
12
hours
that
friday
and
eight
hours
that
saturday
a
wait
for
my
four
children
and
husband
grading
papers
for
classes
that
don't
have
a
long-term
substitute.
O
You
may
have
seen
me
walk
in
with
a
packed
book
bag,
an
additional
green
bag.
That's
because
I'm
going
to
exit
this
meeting
and
continue
grading,
because
my
grades
are
due
tomorrow
for
students
that
don't
have
a
long
term
sub.
Also,
I
would
like
to
ask
you
to
think
about
the
fact
that
we
are
trying
we
are
doing
our
work
and,
as
one
of
my
colleagues
said,
I'll,
take
some
extra
money
for
what
I'm
doing.
We've
got
the
money,
because
I
know
the
long
term
sub
that
145
a
day
isn't
going
to
that
person.
O
C
G
G
The
three
two
hour
early
dismissal
days
are
a
start
toward
the
recognition
of
the
workload
that
our
educators
are
experiencing.
I
need
to
be
clear:
they
don't
address
the
root
causes
of
why
we
need
such
days.
However,
by
their
very
proposal,
this
shows
an
action
towards
moving
beyond
just
saying.
We
know,
there's
a
problem
in
our
school
system
if
passed.
G
As
of
now,
it's
unclear
whether
these
days
would
include
more
training
and
work,
such
as
work
on
brightspace
educator,
directed
time
or
group
planning.
The
vision
for
these
days
has
not
yet
included
focused
collaboration
with
union
leadership.
What
educators
really
need
is
the
reductions
in
mandatory
pds
and
meetings
so
that
this
time
can
be
used
for
instructional
planning,
grading
and
true
collaboration,
and
I
don't
mean
an
hour
of
data
analysis.
G
This
is
a
first
step
that
must
be
expanded
to
include
long-term
plan
to
help
alleviate
and
meet
the
workload
needs
of
our
teachers
and
other
staff
well
into
the
future.
I
know
we're
bound
by
180
days
and
1080
student
hours
and
our
employees
have
contractual
number
of
days,
but
when
working
on
this
and
future
calendars,
thoughtful
construction
must
include
addressing
the
needs
of
our
public
schools,
which
includes
time
for
our
staff
to
reasonably
meet
the
demands
of
their
role
within
our
public
schools.
Just
quick.
In
summary,
we
will
take
these
days
and
use
them.
G
P
P
If
this
calendar
change
was
meant
to
truly
help
us,
why
wasn't
union
leadership
consulted
dr
lotto
and
president
ellis
recently
said
that
there's
a
distinction
between
our
teachers
and
the
leadership
attack?
That's
not
true.
Look
at
us
here
right
now,
wearing
red
in
solidarity
as
many
of
our
union
siblings.
Today,
across
schools
were,
we
are
our
union
and
our
current
enforcer
contract
campaign
is
focused
specifically
on
getting
you
to
the
bargaining
table
to
find
real
solutions
to
our
profound
workload
and
financial
pressures.
P
Ultimately,
while
workload
is
a
real
problem,
the
issue
goes
far
beyond
that.
There
is
an
emotional
and
psychological
toll
on
a
workforce.
That's
been
disrespected
and
exploited
for
years.
That's
why
dr
alato's
recommended
calendar
changes
were
actually
meant
by
anger,
rather
than
gratitude
for
many.
How
can
the
county
claim
to
care
about
our
well-being
when
the
primary
issue
is
that
our
backsteps
and
salary
increases
are
right
now
being
held
hostage
in
order
to
squeeze
out
even
more
unpaid
labor
from
us?
P
You
assert
that,
since
the
contract
proposal
includes
such
a
huge
financial
package,
that
we
owe
it
to
you
to
give
even
more,
no,
the
size
is
the
result
of
years
of
unresolved
back
steps
that
have
been
owed
to
loyal
educators
for
far
too
long.
For
the
rest,
this
financial
package
is
actually
just
the
bare
minimum.
Well
I'll,
be
glad
for
a
few
more
early
dismissals.
P
Rather
than
making
minor
changes
to
the
calendar,
you
could
prove
to
us
that
you
truly
care
about
our
well-being
by
meeting
in
good
faith
with
our
bargaining
team,
who
does
in
fact
represent
us
work
collaboratively
with
them
to
develop
long-term
solutions
to
our
overwhelming
workload
issues,
and
I
urge
you
settle
our
contract
right
now.
Enough
is
enough.
Q
When
I
received
the
message
about
the
early
dismissals
that
dr
alato
recommended,
I,
as
well
as
other
educators,
were
furious
about
the
public
facing
messages
that
claimed
to
understand
the
profound
pressure
and
acknowledged
teacher
staff
and
students
are
exhausted.
Yet
there's
currently
a
demand
for
three
nights
of
unpaid
labor
in
exchange
for
our
back
steps
and
salary
increases
we
are
rightfully
owed
and
weeks
ago
was
communicated
to
families.
That
tac
may
not
appreciate
the
unprecedented
and
sizable
compensation
placeholder
being
offered
for
additional
work.
You're
correct.
Q
We
don't
appreciate
this
fraudulent
claim
of
owing
additional
work
for
years
of
backsteps
and
reasonable
salary
increases
for
a
livable
wage.
As
many
of
us
work
additional
jobs,
the
compensation
is
long
overdue.
Many
of
us
are
overworked
and
have
been
underpaid
for
years.
Additionally,
neighboring
counties
are
compensating
educators
for
covering
classes
due
to
substitute
and
teacher
shortages,
while
aacps
offers
zero
compensation.
Q
R
Hi,
I'm
cheryl
wolfe,
I'm
a
parent
of
four
I'm
here
tonight
to
talk
about
the
2021
2020
2
school
year.
Calendar.
Isn't
it
a
bit
ridiculous
that
it's
november
17th
here
we
are
discussing
the
current
year's
calendar.
Dr
law
is
planning
to
recommend
to
you
to
close
schools,
two
hours
early
on
three
upcoming
days
to
allow
students
and
employees
additional
time
for
personal
wellness.
While
this
seems
like
a
nice
gesture
and
one
that
few
surrounding
counties
have
taken,
it
does
not
solve
any
problems.
R
In
fact,
this
creates
many
more
problems
for
the
80
000
plus
students
and
their
families
who
plan
their
schedules
around
the
school
calendar.
I'm
incredibly
thankful
and
appreciative
of
the
herculean
task
that
is
being
asked
of
our
teachers.
But
I
fail
to
see
how
closing
early
on
these
three
days
will
help
anyone.
The
current
board
approves
calendar,
has
13
more
two
hour,
early
dismissal
or
late
arrival
day
scheduled,
let
that
sink
in
for
a
moment.
There
are
13
already
approved
days
built
into
the
calendar.
R
R
I
propose
this
board
recommends
canceling
the
professional
development
or
workshop
activities
that
are
scheduled
for
teachers
on
those
days
and
instead
allow
them
time
for
wellness
that
way,
it
truly
removes
responsibilities
from
their
plates,
but
does
not
alter
the
calendar
or
how
about
opening
the
schools
back
up
to
fully
vaccinated
parent
volunteers.
Parent
volunteers
play
a
large
role
in
supporting
teachers.
Teachers
are
looking
for
meaningful
ways
to
support
them,
so
they
can
just
get
back
to
teaching
or
how
about
settling
the
teacher
contracts.
That
would
go
a
long
way
towards
their
wellness.
R
As
far
as
students
are
concerned,
a
struggling
student
does
not
need
less
time
in
school
with
their
teacher,
but
more
closing
early
on
these
days
means
students
are
losing
more
hours
instruction
haven't
they
lost
enough
over
the
past
20
months.
These
kids
are
behind,
taking
away
more
hours,
does
not
solve
a
problem
but
creates
one
and
think
of
the
half
day,
pre-k
and
eci
classes,
which
will
be
totally
canceled
on
these
three
days
or
this
afternoon.
Students
at
the
cat
centers
is
taking
away
three
more
days
of
school
from
them
benefiting
their
wellness.
R
I
failed
to
see
how
dr
arlata's
recommendation
will
solve
any
problem,
yet
I
do
see
how
many
more
it
will
create.
Please
leave
the
current
calendar
unchanged.
This
includes
leaving
monday
june
20th
as
a
scheduled
day.
Juneteenth
is
a
sunday.
We
don't
celebrate
all
federal
holidays.
Anyways
just
leave
the
calendar
as
it
was.
Please.
Teachers
need
to
be
teaching.
Kids
need
to
be
in
school
support
wellness
in
other
ways,
taking
away
precious
hours
of
instruction
by
closing
early
is
not
the
answer,
do
better
for
your
students,
your
staff
and
your
parents.
Thank
you.
C
Thank
you
all
right.
Next,
we
have
item
5.01
under
consent,
items
scoreboards
and
marquee
signage,
dr
alato.
S
No
worries
I'm
just
catching
up
yeah.
Thank
you,
madam
vice
president.
I
recommend
that
the
board
of
education
authorize
the
award
of
contract
number
22-159
scoreboards
and
marquee
signage.
It's
a
cooperative
agreement
with
equalist
group
contract
to
watch
fire
signs
llc
in
the
amount
of
one
million
six
hundred
thousand
dollars.
E
C
So
earlier
this
evening
we
moved
item
3.06
to
this
point
in
time.
Thinking
that
miss
ellis
would
be
back
and
I
she's
not
back
do.
C
It
would
probably
take
a
lot
of
us
to
to
move
it
again,
but
we
could,
or
we
could
just
proceed.
T
D
Motion
to
suspend
the
agenda
and
re-establish
3.06
after
7.01.
D
C
L
A
C
All
right,
fantastic,
moving
on
item
6.01,
administrative
personnel
reports.
I
believe
there
are
none
this
evening
all
right,
fantastic
item.
6.02
is
administration
of
medical,
cannabis
code,
q,
sorry,
code,
jr,
and
it's
on
its
third
reading.
I
think
we're
just
waiting
on
miss
ortiz.
S
C
For
no
words,
forgive
me
I'm
still
new
thanks.
All
right
do.
Do
I
have
a
motion
to
back
them.
The
the
superintendent's
recommendation.
U
I
make
a
motion
that
we
look
at
the
cannabis
documentation
with
the
modifications
I
think
he
said
go
again.
Dr
lotto.
V
C
Okay,
do
I
have
a
second
fantastic
now
we're
rolling
miss
ortiz
welcome
good
evening.
C
For
my
next
trick-
yes,
I'm
filling
in
for
ms
ellis
this
evening
for
part
of
this
evening,
so
yeah.
T
No
questions
I
just
wanted
to,
as
it
relates
to
the
deliberation
on
the
motion.
I
fully
appreciate
and
support
the
efforts
of
of
everyone
to
always
have
available
to
them
all
health
and
medical
choices
available
to
them.
T
But
I
have
an
oath
of
office
and
I
I
do
not
feel
that
it
would
be
appropriate
for
me
to
vote
in
the
affirmative
knowing
full
well
that
the
federal
government
has
chosen
not
to
rescind
their
position.
So
I.
D
I
echo
some
of
those
sentiments.
I
do
want
to
thank
the
board
for
accepting
some
of
the
amendments
that
we
made
on
this
last
time.
I
think
it
closes
the
gap
a
little
bit
on
on
where
we
need
to
be
in
recognizing
what
our
duty
is,
but
I
I
also
agree
that
the
state
legislature
did
not
get
us
to
where
we
need
to
be
for
me
to
be
comfortable
on
this
motion.
Thank
you.
C
I
just
have
something
to
say
about
this
as
a
cancer
survivor
and
someone
who
used
legally
under
the
oregon's
medical
cannabis
program
when
I
was
going
through
cancer,
I
know
how
important
medical
cannabis
can
be
to
treating
various
ailments
and
was
the
only
thing
that
helped
I
had.
A
variety
of
could
have
opened
a
pharmacy
with
the
amount
of
opioids
I
had
access
to,
but
instead
the
only
thing
that
helped
me
in
that
time
was
medical
cannabis
for
bone
pain
and
for
nausea.
W
And
if
I
may,
and
for
the
record,
jeannette
ortiz
legislative
and
policy
counsel,
I'd
just
like
to
remind
the
board
that,
in
accordance
with
state
law,
you're
required
to
have
this
policy,
but
even
if
you
choose
not
to
have
this
policy,
you're
still
required
to
provide
this
for
your
students.
So
just
you
know
not
voting
for
or
not
supporting.
It
does
not
absolve
us
from
implementing
the
law.
C
C
W
And
again,
good
evening,
jeanette
ortiz
legislative
and
policy
council
policy,
j-e-c-a-a
students
with
the
known
food
allergy,
is
before
you
on
first
reading.
This
is
a
new
policy
to
implement
a
coordinated
approach
for
the
management
of
food
allergies
in
aacps.
W
Some
of
these
measures
include
the
promotion
of
food,
allergy
awareness,
the
coordinated
approach
for
the
management
of
food
allergies,
strategies
and
procedures
to
address
food,
allergies
and
training
and
allergen
exposure
risk
reduction.
This
policy
will
be
on
the
acps
website
for
a
30-day
public
comment
period
and
I'd
be
happy
to
answer
any
questions.
Thank
you.
C
Thank
you,
miss
ortiz,
miss
frank.
D
W
Yes,
thank
you
and
that's
a
great
question.
I'm
glad
you
asked
because
it
allowed
me
to
explain
a
little
bit,
so
we
actually
have
a
policy
jeca
which
deals
with
anaphylaxis
students,
with
known
anaphylaxis
reactions
in
accordance
with
state
law
and
regulations,
and
so
in
that
policy
and
regulate
the
regulation,
really
addresses
epipens
and
other
more
detailed
procedures
for
dealing
with
students
with
anaphylaxis.
W
The
reason
why
this
policy
was
created
is
because
not
all
food
allergies
are
anaphylactic
in
nature,
but
also
not
all
anaphylactic
allergies
are
related
to
food,
and
so
the
thought
behind
the
policy
is
that
it's
just
one
place
where
a
parent
can
just
look
to
as
it
relates
to
just
food
allergies.
These
are
things,
as
I
mentioned,
that
we're
already
doing
as
a
school
system
that
can
be
found
referenced
in
other
policies.
D
E
Thank
you.
Yes,
I
was
really
going.
Ms
ortiz
has
said
this
most
of
what
I
wanted
to
say
it
it
as
ms
ortiz
presented
to
us
and
as
we
discussed
in
the
policy
committee.
E
E
But
this
allows
too
many
families
have
looked
at
our
policies
and-
and
I
think
it's
fair
to
say
it's-
you
know
it
can
be
very
terrifying
if
your
child
has
one
of
these,
it's
important
to
be
able
to
look
at
our
policies
and
see
that
we
have
one
that
specifically
addresses
food
allergies,
and
so
this
was
a
way
to
gather
that
information
under
that.
So
thank
you.
X
Thank
you
vice
president
xi'an.
When
I
read
this,
I
was
just
thinking
about
my
experience
in
the
classroom.
X
W
W
Specifically
so
we're
already
addressing
you
know
the
various
sort
of
allergen
exposures,
but
this
policy
particularly
relates
to
food
allergy,
because
that's
where
we
see
a
lot
of
questions
from
parents
and
students.
X
C
Thank
you
and
I
just
wanted
to
say
a
huge
thank
you
to
ms
ortiz
and
ms
reesey
for
working
with
me
on
this
policy.
This
is
a
little
bit
my
baby
and,
and
it's
really
is
to
codify
what
we
already
do
to
tie
in
with
the
big
red
bow.
You
know
the
the
together
the
the
anaphylaxis
allergies
and
our
nutrition
policy
and
and
highlight
you
know
like
I
said
what
we
already
do
in
the
school
system.
C
C
All
right,
thank
you
so
much!
Okay!
Thank
you!
Moving

dd,
dr
alato.
Your
recommendation.
S
C
S
Yes
ma'am,
while
mr
moser
gets
settled,
you've
got
a
great
deal
of
information
in
front
of
you
on
the
yellow
sheet.
S
I
have
two
recommendations
to
bring
forward
to
this
board
regarding
the
this
current
school
year's
calendar.
The
first
is
that
I
recommend
board
approval
that
I
recommend
approval.
Excuse
me
of
the
calendar
committee's
recommendation
that
anne
arundel
county
public
schools,
close
for
students
and
staff
on
monday
june
20th
2022
in
recognition
of
juneteenth
moving
the
final
two
days
of
the
school
year,
both
two-hour
early
dismissals
to
june
21st
and
june
22nd
2022.
E
D
I,
when
this
mission
arose
and
we
voted
on
it
a
couple
months
ago-
I
I
did
bring
some
concerns
about
adding
days
on
at
the
end
of
the
year.
I
I
don't
think
that
adding
extra
days
at
the
end
of
the
year
to
accommodate
for
this
is
something
that
that
I
could
support.
I
do
understand
the
value
of
juneteenth
and
I
it
is
a
holiday.
D
I
actually
do
usually
celebrate
with
some
of
my
folks,
but
there
are
other
ways
to
celebrate
something,
and
I
I
think
that
even
a
friday
in
school,
where
there
are
juneteenth
activities
or
a
monday
in
school
or
their
juneteenth
activities,
would
also
allow
us
to
celebrate
this
holiday
without
having
to
to
put
on
an
extra
day
right
at
the
end
of
the
year.
People
are.
D
C
Seeing
no
other
lights
I
want
to,
I
want
to
mention
something
about
this
and
its
importance.
C
One
of
the
very
last
things
that
our
colleague
candace
antoine
wanted
was
the
recognition
of
juneteenth
and
I'm
gonna
not
cry
today,
at
least
not
again.
Today,
and-
and
so
I
think,
about
her-
and
I
think
about
her
sitting
where
ms
dunn
is
sitting
now
and
I
think
about
her
talking
with
such
eloquence
and
passion
about
juneteenth,
and
so
I
will
be
supporting
this,
and
I
just
I
do
this
for
candace
and
I
think
about
her.
C
C
S
Yes,
ma'am.
Thank
you,
madam
president.
Madam
vice
president,
I
recommend
to
the
board
that
the
2021-2022
calendar
be
amended
to
include
two
to
include
two
hour
early
dismissals
for
all
students
on
december
3rd
2021
december
23rd,
2021
and
february
18th
2022.
S
With
that
time
being
allotted
to
school
system
staff,
personal
wellness.
I
also
make
that
recommendation,
and
I
am
sorry
that
mr
leone
and
others
spoke
tonight,
not
in
favor
of
the
recommendation
in
terms
of
it
not
being
enough
to
recognize
the
hard
work
of
our
teachers
and
staff.
S
S
C
C
I
have
a
motion
in
a
second,
mr
self-worth.
X
So
I
may
be
asking
for
an
amendment,
so
here
are
my
thoughts
and
and
dr
aladda,
I
I
thank
you
for
for
this
recommendation,
because
I
know
it's
something
that
you've
been
considering
for
some
time.
It's
not
something
that
just
happened,
and
I
would
like
to
I'll
just
put
this
out
there
and-
and
I
would
like
to
know
the
reaction
of
the
members
of
the
board.
X
My
recommendation
would
be
a
few
changes
in
the
dates
the
december
third
date.
I
think
it
might
be
better
served
to
our
teachers
and
staff
if
we
move
that
to
january
19th
of
2022
and
instead
of
making
it
a
late
or
an
early
dismissal,
making
it
a
late
arrival.
X
Second
thing
to
december:
23rd
is
okay,
as
is
the
february
18th
february,
18
2022
again
consider
the
it
being
a
late
arrival.
X
I
I
honestly,
I
would
support
if
all
of
those
if
they
were
early
dismissals,
but
we've
all
received
some
emails
from
parents
that
have
talked
about
some
inconvenience
of
the
early
dismissal,
and
so
my
thought
is
to
try
to
help
address
those
concerns,
but
at
the
same
time
address
the
concerns
of
our
teachers,
the
the
wellness
time
they
they
need.
This.
X
The
december
23rd
would
remain,
as
is
yes,
sir
the
february
18th
date
wouldn't
change.
It
would
simply
be
a
a
late
arrival.
Yes,
sir,
the
december
third
date,
I
suggest
taking
it
to
january
19
of
2022,
and
one
reason
for
that
is
because
our
teachers
are
will
be
in
the
process
of
final
grades
for
semester,
one
or
marquee
period,
two.
X
They
will
be
in
the
process
of
dealing
with
semester
exams,
and
so
I
just
kind
of
feel
that
they
would
be
able
to
better
use
that
time
in
january,
on
the
as
opposed
to
january
19th,
as
opposed
to
the
december
third
day,.
X
I
had
it
as
both
the
christmas.
The
december
23rd
would
be
an
early
dismissal.
The
other
two
dates
would
be
late
arrivals
and
again,
I'm
trying
to
address
the
concerns
of
many
of
our
parents
and
and
others
who
have
addressed
concerns
about
the
fact
that
they've
made
plans
based
upon
the
calendar
and
that
also
by
doing
that,
the
afternoon
activities
would
still
would
not
be
lost
on
those
two
days.
C
D
I
agree
with
some
of
what
mr
silver
said
and
as
I've
received
feedback.
Most
people
have
said
december.
23Rd,
okay,
we're
good
with
that.
But
you
know
that's
fine
tonight
in
in
public
comment.
I
do
believe
we
had
one
or
two
folks
who
said:
let's
change
the
third
to
the
eighth,
because
it's
already
pd
and
it's
already
in
the
calendar.
D
If,
if
there's
a
motion,
then
then
I
would-
and
if
there's
an
amendment
to
the
motion,
then
I
would
suggest
that
we
include
that
day
the
the
december
8th
and
then
I
don't
know
that
changing
it
to
a
late
arrival.
I
don't
know
that
that
helps
or
doesn't
help,
but
I
don't
really
have
any
strong
feelings.
Either
way
is
whether
it's
a
late
arrival
or
early
dismissal.
D
But
I
do
want
to
be
cognizant
that
we
we
try
to
be
as
balanced
as
we
can
with
the
needs
of
the
parents
as
well
and
try
not
to
to
add
more
that
is
going
to
create
tension
for
them
as
well.
So
I
think
the
the
december
8th
is
a
good
way
to
spread
that
needle
a
little
better,
because
they've
already
been
they've
already
been
aware
that
that
needs
to
happen.
So
thank
you.
U
Like
most
of
everyone,
we've
all
received
several
emails
about
the
calendar
change.
So,
dr
lotto,
I
appreciate
you
getting
my
inbox
up
and
active
on
this
issue,
but
I
I
and
I
appreciate
it,
but
I
really
have
to
go
out
on
a
limb
here
and
say
that
I'm
probably
the
only
person
that
has
a
problem
with
this
calendar
being
adjusted
period.
U
U
U
I
really
would
ask
that
if
we
all
could
just
go
back
to
the
drawing
board
and
make
something
make
sense,
just
one
time
make
something
make
sense
for
me:
make
the
day
off
or
or
the
this
early
dismissal
or
the
late
arrivals
makes
sense
for
me,
because
right
now
I
don't
see
that
it
makes
sense,
and
I'm
saying
this
in
all
honesty-
that
if
you
tell
me
that
you
want
me
to
have
an
early
dismissal
or
a
late
arrival
on
the
other
side
of
it,
it
is
for
my
wellness.
U
Then
I
should
have
some
input
into
that.
If
I
don't
have
any
input
into
it,
you're
not
really
helping
me.
So
I'm
asking
why
can't
we
table
this
opera
this
this
this
time
off
for
this
calendar
change
until
we
have
adequate
feedback
and
make
sure
that
we're
making
the
right
decision?
I
think
it's
done
in
a
vacuum.
I
don't
think
that
is
helping
anyone.
That's
one.
The
second
one
is
is
unity
day
is
december,
8th,
miss
frank.
U
I
already
bought
my
t-shirt,
I'm
having
a
hard
time
with
you
not
giving
me
my
twenty-five
dollars
back,
except
in
the
nicest
way
possible.
I'd
ask
that
we
look
at
the
calendar.
It's
a
big
deal
for
me
to
to
interrupt
my
my
schedule,
and
so
I'm
asking
for
us
to
look
at
it
and
look
at
it
wholeheartedly
and
make
some
modifications
that
we
can
all
live
with.
That's
my
two
cents.
F
E
Tobin,
so
thank
you
miss
dent
because
I
think
you've
hit
on
sort
of
some
of
the
deeper
issues
here,
which
is.
I
appreciate
this
was
not
an
easy
thing
for
dr
alato
and
his
staff
to
come
up
with
to
begin
with,
but
I
I
take
it.
What
you're
suggesting
to
us,
ms
dent
and
I'm
inclined
to
agree,
is
the
need
for
a
more
a
more
holistic
approach
to
recognizing
the
depth
of
the
issue
that
we
have
here
now
to
the
specifics
that
are
on
the
table.
E
E
They
feel
the
early
dismissals
unduly
impact
their
children,
because
you
know
their
programs
tend
to
be
shut
down
at
a
larger
level.
Because
of
that
I
would
agree
with
you
that,
while
I
fully
appreciate
the
stress
that
teachers
are
under
right
now
and
the
workload,
it
is
also
abundantly
clear
to
me,
based
on
very
recent
events
that
were
referenced
in
testimony
tonight.
E
That
equity
cannot
be
off
the
table
right
now,
and
I
would
certainly
appreciate
that
our
our
folks,
who
put
together
the
equity
pd
being
the
kind
of
instructors
that
they
are,
can
appreciate
the
level
of
work
that
teachers
have
and
may
be
able
to
modify
it
accordingly.
E
E
So
that
being
said,
I'd
like
to
hear
more
for
the
for
the
purpose
of
this
discussion
from
dr
arlatto
with
regard
to
what
you
believe
the
implications
of
mr
silkworth's
suggestion
would
be
from
the
perspective
of
the
the
school
calendar
and
and
then
go
from
there
and
see
what
emerges
from
that
discussion.
So
thank
you.
S
So
I
guess
I
should
thank
you
for
the
question,
because
I'm
not
so
so
I've
thought
about
it
as
long
as
you
have,
because
I've
not.
I
did
had
no
advance
warning
about
these
possible
changes
so
moving
the
dates
in
general.
I
quickly
opened
my
laptop
to
look
at
those
dates
to
see
if
there
is
some
sort
of
conflict
that
it
might.
S
If
there
was
some
sort
of
conflict
and
scheduling
or
something
going
on
in
the
schools
on
january
19th,
it
does
not
appear
to
be
a
day
that
would
cause
us
any
any
harm
to
the
teaching
learning
to
the
instructional
model,
so
switching
december
3rd
to
january
19th.
I
I
without
thinking
too
deeply
about
it
is
probably
okay.
S
To
now
leave
work
early
to
pick
up
their
children,
and
so
a
friday
typically
is
a
little
more
palatable
from
parents
that
have
some
of
those
difficulties,
and
there
are
more
parents
telecommuting
on
fridays
than
they
are
on
tuesdays,
wednesdays
and
thursdays.
This
was
I'm
just
sort
of
outlining
some
of
the
thought
process
that
my
team
and
I
went
through
in
choosing
that
date,
but
to
move
december
3rd
to
january
19th
certainly
can
be
done.
S
S
Obviously
the
december
third
date
doesn't
change
the
december
18th
date
does
not
change,
but
that
date
was
picked
again
because
it
is
a
friday
and
it
is
a
friday
leading
into
a
long
president's
weekend,
and
so
the
idea
was
to
allow
folks
to
have
slightly
a
couple
hours
longer
weekend
than
they
would
otherwise
so
now
changing
that
to
a
later
rival,
on
the
18th
sort
of
negates.
What
our
thing
doesn't
mean.
S
It's
a
bad
idea,
I'm
just
sharing
with
you
it
sort
of
negate
what
my
team
and
I
were
planning
for-
why
we
chose
that
date
at
that
particular
time
and
so
moving.
The
late
arrival
to
a
late
arrival
would
sort
of
negate
that,
but
but
mr
silkworth
is
absolutely
right,
and-
and
you
mentioned
it
also,
dr
tobin-
that
when
you
have
two-hour-
or
you
have
early
dismissals
that
does
interrupt
our
afternoon-
pre-k
and
eci
classes
more
so
than
the
mornings
right.
It
is
not
a.
S
X
And
that
that
then
begs
the
question:
if
it
is
friday,
should
it
be
an
an
early
dismissal
as
opposed
to
a.
C
But
point
of
order,
I
want
to
remind
folks
that
we
we
don't
have
we.
We
had
a
a
motion
and
a
second
to
approve
dr
aletto's
recommendation
and
no
amendments
to
that
recommendation
that
that
were
either
made
nor
seconded.
So
we
only
have
just
the
one
on
the
table,
which
is
to
approve
dr
lotter's
recommendation,
as
stated.
Y
Okay,
so
currently
there's
a
motion
on
the
table
simply
to
approve
dr
erlatto's
recommendation.
This
is
for
this
current
school
yeah.
Those
three
dates.
Y
H
H
Right,
I'm
just
trying
to
be
clear
on
what
mr
silkworth's
idea
is.
So
is
it
to.
E
X
I
move
that
we
amend
that
we
we
maintain
the
december
23rd
date
as
an
early
dismissal,
that
we
move
the
december
third
date
to
january
21st
of
2022,
and
it
would
also
be
an
early
dismissal
since
it
is
a
friday
and
that
we
maintain
the
february
18th
date,
but
change
it
to
a
later
rival,
as
opposed
to
a
early
dismissal.
H
C
Y
I
second
that
amendment.
H
Okay,
so
is
it
possible
for
me
to
wait
until
we
finish
voting
on
that
amendment,
because
my
next
question
is
directly
impacted
by
this
amendment
so
I'd
rather,
we
vote
on
that.
First
action:
correct.
Y
Sure
miss
frank
or
yeah.
It
was
you.
V
C
On
when
I,
okay,
when
I
moved
I'll,
tell
you
why
I'm
not
okay
with
this
a
those
dates
were
selected
specifically
by
by
by
dr
aletto
on
fridays,
more
people
telecommute
on
fridays
or
work
from
home
on
fridays
than
they
do
the
other
days,
the
other
two
dates
december
23rd
and
the
the
ninth
the
18th
lead
up
to
holidays.
I
would
also
like
to
remind
folks
who
don't
maybe
look
at
a
a
full
calendar
that
december
3rd
is
not
just
one
holiday,
but
two.
It
is
friday's
shabbat
and
it's
also
hanukkah.
C
We
have
a
lot
of
jewish
teachers
in
our
school
system
like
to
go
home
and
be
with
their
families.
I'm
not
going
to
be
supporting
this
amendment
so
there
that
is.
Thank
you.
D
Yeah,
so
to
miss
dent's
point.
One
of
the
concerns
I
have
specifically
with
the
december
3rd
is
that
it's
just
not
enough
time.
It's
just
not
enough
notice
for
people
to
to
to
change
their
their
schedules
in
their
lives.
So
well.
I
do
appreciate
that
you
know
it.
It
might
benefit
in
some
cases.
I
I
think
a
lot
of
people
would
really
struggle
finding
child
care
in
that
very
short
time
frame.
D
D
We
we
find
another
recommendation
or-
or
we
work
with
dr
alato-
to
find
a
couple
of
days
and
sort
of
fine-tune
that
and
then
allow
public
input
at
our
next
meeting
to
to
determine
you
know
kind
of
kind
of
what
the
consensus
would
be,
because
these
are
a
lot
of
change
from
what
the
recommendations
were.
D
But
I
I
agree
that
there
is
a
need
and
I'm
glad
that
you
brought
it
to
us,
but
but
I
would
like
to
get
if
we're
to
change
too
much,
I
would
like
to
get
some
some
feedback
on
some
of
the
early
dismissal
versus
late
arrival
dates.
Thank
you.
Y
Okay
and
I'm
I'm
gonna
quickly,
just
apologize
to
everyone
for
the
disruption.
I
had
an
event
for
my
daughter
and
I
appreciate
my
colleagues,
flexibility
and
understanding
so
and
boy.
This
meeting
moved
a
lot
faster
than.
Y
Because
this
is
this
is
something
I
certainly
you
know
it
is
a
very
important
topic.
The
community
is
very
invested
in
this
topic
and
anyway,
sorry
for
the
disruption.
So
the
amendment
that
is
on
the
table
look
for
me
I'm
going
to
have
to
support
some
type
of
alternative
to
december
3rd.
Y
The
the
pandemic
has
created
all
kinds
of
disruptions
for
for
families
and
working
parents
have
had
to
become
ask
their
employers
to
be
very
flexible
for
quite
some
time
now,
and
this
does
create,
I
think,
a
hardship
for
some
families
with
little
time
to
plan,
particularly
when
we
have
an
early
dismissal.
Just
five
days
later.
So
I
had,
I
had
a
different
motion
prepared,
which
I
had.
Y
Notified
my
my
colleagues
earlier
today
to
be
prepared
that
I
had
a
motion,
but
now
we
have
something
a
little
different
on
the
table,
so
I
I
was
proposing
to
because
of
hearing
from
teachers
of
how
overwhelmed
they
feel
right
now
that
we
postpone
the
december
8th
professional
development
and
make
that
a
a
personal
care
day
personal
care
afternoon
instead
of
december
3rd.
Y
Y
That
being
said,
there's
a
different
amendment
on
the
table,
so
I've
the
reason
I'm
ex
explaining
what
my
idea
was.
Is
I'm
a
little
bit
struggling
right
now
about?
Should
I
support
this
amendment
because
the
issue
here
is
that
teachers
need
some
support
now
they
need
some
relief
now
and
so
moving
the
december
third
early
dismissal
to
january
21st
doesn't
address
that
right
now.
Y
S
Yeah,
thank
you,
madam
president.
I
just
I
want
to
say
to
the
board
very
very
clearly,
as
you
deliberate
the
calendar,
which
is
under
your
full
purview
that
I
certainly
will
not
recommend.
Nor
would
I
support
any
disruption
to
our
equity
pd.
It
is
critical
to
the
work
that
we're
doing
every
day
in
this
school
system
and
have
for
years.
S
We
have
four
early
release
days
that
are
dedicated
to
equity,
professional
development
and
culturally
responsive
teaching
with
our
entire
staffs
by
changing
december,
8th
or
any
other
would
disrupt
that
important
work,
which
I
believe
is
critical
to
the
growth
of
this
school
system.
Thank
you.
C
C
That
would
have
many
elementary
schools
showing
up
at
almost
noon.
I
don't
know
how
that
is
more
mental
health
relief
for
our
staff
and
teachers,
and
it
certainly
would
put
undue
pressure
on
our
working
families.
So
I'm
against
that.
I
also
wanted
to
speak
about
our
equity
pd
days.
I
am
absolutely
and
without
question,
so
let
me
be
clear,
opposed
to
any
movement
to
reduce
decrease
or
minimize.
Our
equity
pd
days
is
already
outlined
in
our
calendar.
C
The
four
pd
days
we
have
a
mission
of
all
means
also
does
that
no
longer
apply,
I'm
just
questioning
that
we
also
to
disrupt
or
reduce
or
or
remove
or
decrease
or
minimize.
That
would
also
fly
in
the
face
of
our
strategic
plan.
The
work
that
this
school
board
and
the
school
system
have
done
have
invested
in
with
our
county
in
terms
of
several
tasks
for
us
and
our
equity
work
with
mabe
equities.
C
At
the
center
of
everything
we
do
and
something
that
we
talk
about
non-stop,
and
so
I'm
absolutely
with
every
ounce
of
my
being
against
any
resolution
or
motion
that
would
anyway,
reduce
decrease
or
minimize
our
staff's
work
and
our
commitment
to
equity-
and
I
would
just
just
god,
smacked
at
the
thought
that
we
would
do
that.
So
please
don't.
H
So
as
the
equity
chair
and
as
someone
who
shares
the
opinion,
as
vice
president
shawheim,
I'm
simply
put
also
opposed
to
doing
anything
to
affect
unity
day
or
professional
developments
centered
around
equity,
not
only
because
I
find
it
essential
to
the
work
that
we
do
as
a
school
system,
but
also
as
I'm
looking
at
the
calendar-
and
I
did
this
simply
by
doing
control,
plus,
f
professional
development
and
seeing
it
skip
to
all
the
different
dates.
H
H
We
already
have
another
professional
development
in
february,
and
in
march
in
I
believe
I
mean
it's
just
if
you
keep
on
shoving
it
around
it's
going
to
have
a
much
larger
detriment
than
I
think
we're
anticipating
so
simply
put-
and
I
didn't
want
to
comment
this
because
it
isn't
an
official
amendment
yet,
but
I
really
don't
see
how
you
can
have
that
pd
other
than
the
date
that
it's
already
been
marked,
as
also
just
going
back
to
what
vice
president
shah
has
already
stated.
H
You
have
a
lot
of
jewish
students
and
teachers
who
otherwise,
if
we
don't
think
about
putting
a
day
like
december
3rd
as
a
early
dismissal
will
be
affected
by
having
to
go
to
school
on
an
important
holiday
and
not
to
play
that
card.
But
if
someone
was
trying
to
make
us
go
to
school
on
christmas
eve,
a
lot
of
us
who
are
christian
would
not
feel
that
was
you
know
a
fair
thing
to
do.
D
I
absolutely
do
agree
with
your
point,
ms,
I'm
a
sorry
about
trying
to
to
make
sure
that
we
include
other
other
groups
as
as
far
as
when
we
do
this.
My
bigger
concern
with
it
is
just
the
the
length
of
time
that
we're
giving
people
to
adjust
their
calendar.
It's
it's
not.
If
this
had
been
brought
sooner.
You
know,
I
don't
think
that
that's
the
issue
per
se.
I
think
the
issue
is
just
the
the
rebound
time
for
parents
to
have
to
request
off
it's
16
days
away.
D
You
know,
I
know
that
as
a
parent
I
certainly
have
booked
out
the
rest
of
my
december
really
and-
and
while
you
know
I
I
do
tend
to
to
book
a
little
lighter
right
before
bigger
breaks,
because
I
know
the
kids
will
be
off
school
and
I
have
to
kind
of
adjust
for
that
that
one,
it
kind
of
works
out
for
me,
and
I
I
suspect
that
that's
the
same
for
a
lot
of
folks,
but
but
just
two
weeks
away
in
two
days
that
that's
a
lot
to
ask
a
parent
to
do
right
now.
D
D
That
was
a
recommendation
that
a
lot
of
teachers
had
was
to
move
the
december
3rd
date
to
the
equity,
p
date
and
pd
date,
and
when
I
specifically
asked
teachers
what
what
they
said
was
less
meetings
and
and
less
required.
Pd's
would
be
helpful
to
us.
So
if,
if
we're
trying
to
be
responsive
to
what
we're
hearing,
I
think
that
we
should
consider
that.
D
I
you
know
I'm
hearing
that
the
board
wants
that,
but
the
teachers
want
time
off
and
and
the
parents
want
to
not
adjust
their
schedule
and
do
we
weigh
that
against
what
the
wants
of
the
board
are,
and
I
think
that
the
parents
and
the
teachers
should
win
in
this
situation.
So
thank
you.
C
U
It
just
to
be
sure,
speaks
in
direct
contradiction
of
foregoing
the
equity
pd.
So
I'm
gonna
go
back
to
what
I
said
in
the
beginning.
I
don't
think
the
calendar
has
been
well
thought
out.
I
don't
think
that
we're
in
a
position
to
sit
here
and
look
at
all
the
things
I
think
dr
alato
has
a
staff
that
will
be
able
to
look
at
everything,
that's
going
on
and
bring
us
back
feedback
so
that
we
can
make
a
a
decision
on
moving
these
dates
around
on
the
calendar.
U
Y
Yeah,
so
look
we,
we
have
an
amendment
on
the
table
and
I
had
I
had
offered
what
I
had
been
considering
as
an
alternative
to
the
recommendation
and
look
since
since
equity
came
up,
and
my
suggestion
is
is
not
that
we
do
away
with
our
work
on
equity,
and
I
I
hope
to
god
that
four
afternoons
a
year
is
is
not
how
we
are
addressing
equity
throughout
the
school
system.
Y
That
is,
that
is
a
piece
of
of
how
we
continue
to
work
and
move
forward
on
equity,
and
so
this
one
afternoon,
I'm
suggesting
and
by
the
way
I'm
not
suggesting
putting
another
pd
in
later
in
the
year
to
make
up
for
it.
I'm
suggesting
that
the
pd
that
was
going
to
happen
on
december
8th
happen
at
the
february
pd.
Y
We
just
we
shift
things
back
so
at
a
time
when
our
teachers
are
feeling
overburdened
with
covering
for
teacher
absences,
supporting
students
challenged
with
impacts
of
learning
through
the
pandemic
and
being
away
from
school
buildings
for
nearly
18
months
and
the
continued
impacts
of
covid
on
our
school
community.
Now
is
not
the
time
for
professional
development.
That
is
what
I
am
hearing
directly
from
teachers:
teachers
reached
out
to
me
about
this
school
calendar,
and
they,
those
that
I
spoke
with,
were
very
very
much
in
favor
with
postponing
the
december
8th
pd.
Y
So
what
in
in
these
circumstances,
what
do
we
realistically
expect
to
gain
as
a
school
system
for
our
students
by
conducting
mandatory
training
in
these
circumstances,
putting
it
off
for
a
couple
of
months
to
allow
everyone
to
take
a
breath
and
focus
on
the
here
and
now
in
their
classroom?
This
is
what
they're
asking
for.
Y
And
so
again
kicking
this
can
down
the
road
means.
We
have
at
least
another
two
weeks
of
teachers
asking.
How
are
you
going
to
help
us
and
though
this
is
to
me
this
is
this-
is
not
a
complete
solution?
Adding
a
few
afternoons
is
not
a
complete
solution
to
to
supporting
our
teachers.
Y
This
is
this
is
important
now
and
that's
why
I
I
don't
know,
I
don't
know
how
we
not
move
forward
with
this.
So.
Y
I
think
I
am
not
going
to
support
the
amendment
for
the
reasons
I
said,
because,
because
we
need
to
do
something
now
and
then
I'm
going
to
offer
an
amendment
if
it
does
not
pass
and
and
we'll
go
from
there.
Mr
silkworth.
X
My
original
thought,
when
I
saw
the
december
3rd,
knowing
that
the
december
8th
was
there,
was
that
it's
too
close.
It
just
makes
logical
sense
to
me,
and
I
have
talked
to
many
teachers
to
move
that
to
january
the
21st
or
the
19th
or
whatever
date
is
appropriate,
because
it
will
help
them
at
the
end
of
semester.
One
I
think
the
december
23rd
date
is
a
no-brainer,
the
february
18th
date.
I
just
thought
about
that
becoming
a
later
rival
in
response
to
emails.
X
And
having
said
that,
I
don't
know
at
this
point
time
after
having
heard
some
of
my
colleagues,
I
don't
know
that
I
would
support
a
motion
to
postpone
the
december
8th.
X
I
I
I
don't
know
that
I
would
at
this
point
I
probably
would
not,
but
I
do
think
it
is
imperative
that
we
do
something
for
our
students,
for
our
teachers,
for
our
admin,
for
our
staff
and
for
our
families,
and
I
honestly
think
that
my
amendment
does
in
fact
accomplish
what
needs
to
be
accomplished
to
help
them.
Is
it
perfect?
No,
but
we're
still
in
the
middle
of
a
pandemic.
V
Y
Thank
you,
mr
silkworth,
for
a
very
persuasive
argument.
I
see
no
more
lights,
we're
voting
on
the
amendment.
L
E
Y
Y
And
for
reasons
I
said
I
I
have
to
offer
my
amendment.
We
don't
need
to
discuss
if
no
one
has
anything
else
to
say,
but
I
will
be
offering
an
amendment
to
the
recommendation
of
early
dismissals
to
sorry
here.
It
will
be.
Y
I
I
move
to
amend
the
current
motion
so
that
december
8th
becomes
an
early
dismissal
day
for
personal
wellness.
Postponing
the
planned
professional
development
for
that
day
and
that
december
23rd
and
february
18th
remain
as
recommended.
D
H
Okay,
so
previously,
while
we
were
discussing,
I
recall
you
stating
that
we
would
be
basically
shifting
the
pds,
and
so
while
I
was
in
the
calendar-
and
this
is
where
I
was
most
concerned,
because
I
think
you
throughout
the
month
february,
but
there's
already
an
equity
pd.
Y
Y
Y
Y
H
H
U
U
Y
Y
U
Y
Because,
because
we're
hearing
that
relief
is
needed
right
now,
and
so
this
is
based
on
conversations.
I've
had
a
win-win
for
working
families
who
who
can't
arrange
for
that
december
third
date
and
for
teachers
who
are
overwhelmed
right
now
and
don't
need
to
be
pulled
into
professional
development
at
this
time,
not
at
this
time
they're
they
they.
They
need
to
be
able
to
focus
on
their
students
and
their
classrooms
in
the
here
and
now
that's
what
they're
that's
what
we're
hearing
every
day.
So
this
to
me
was
a
it
was
a.
U
D
Miss
frank
just
a
reminder
that
that
that
day
is
already
in
the
calendar
as
an
early
dismissal,
so
that
parents
would
have
known
a
long
time
ago
that
that
they
would
have
to
make
arrangements
for
that
well
in
advance.
So
that's
why
it
would
be
a
little
bit
more.
You
know
amenable
to
the
parents
and
teachers,
because
it's
it's
already
in
the
calendar
as
a
half
day
for
parents,
but
it
would
free
up
the
teachers
to
be
able
to
do
what
they
would
need
to
do.
D
I
would
just
also
say
I
don't
want
to
amend
your
amendment,
but
I
I
still
am
a
little
the
february
date.
If,
if
I
get
any
nod
of
approval
of
somebody
who
would
like
to
just
pass
the
first
two
and
maybe
come
back
to
the
last
one
after
we
get
some
input,
I
would
totally
no
okay
all
right
all
right.
O
E
Y
Are
back
to
the
original?
We
have
a
motion
on
the
table
to
accept
the
superintendent's
recommendation.
F
C
I
have
already
had
a
light
on
to
make
a
motion
michelle.
I
do
want
to
recognize
that
the
teachers
are.
You
know
over
overburdened
this
this
year
and
I
think
I
came
up
with
a
way
to
alleviate
some
of
that.
So
at
the
at
the
present
moment,
may
3rd
2022
is
a
day
closed
for
students.
It's
a
professional
development
day,
so
I'm
going
to
remove
that
that
we
also
close
for
staff
on
that
day
and
not
have
pd
on
that
day.
E
H
H
Oh
because
I
was
going
to
ask
what
it
just
says
see
school
sponsored
activities.
I
was
going
to
ask
what
the
professional
development
is
on,
because
I
didn't
want
to
get
rid
of
the
december
8th
because
it
was
an
equity
pd.
But
this
is
another
people.
I
don't
know
what
it
is.
So
do
you
know
what
the
professional
development
is
for
may
3rd,
all
the
other
ones
just
say:
project
community.
I.
B
I
don't
I'm
not
for
the
record
bob
moser
chief
communications
officer.
I
don't
know
that
it's
been
finalized
yet,
but
what
I
was
going
to
say
to
miss
shawham's
motion
is
if
the
teacher
contract
has
191
work
days.
So
if
you
eliminate,
may
the
third,
you
have
to
find
another
teacher
workday
somewhere
to
satisfy
the
contract.
Y
Y
And
while
you're
looking,
mr
mosher
suggested
that
that
would
take
us
outside
of.
J
S
S
S
Right,
okay,
yeah
and-
and
so
if,
if
that's
done,
then
mr
mosher
is
absolutely
right.
There
is
a.
We
have
a
contractual
agreement
with
the
number
of
days
that
a
teacher's
work,
that
is
a
work
day
for
teachers
not
a
closed
day
for
all
it's
just
not
a
school,
is
closed
for
students,
but
not
for
staff.
S
S
It's
191.
for
for
for
teachers.
Now
there
are
different
variations
of.
You
could
have
some
teachers
that
work
193
days,
some
that
work
194
some
at
work,
200
an
athletic
director
would
fall
under
that
they
work
more
days,
but
the
standard
teaching
contract
for
a
teach
for
our
classroom
teachers
191
days.
Y
Okay,
dr
tobin,
are
you
done?
Is
that
you're,
okay,.
E
Okay,
so
this
may
be
a
naive
question,
but
we're
the
employer
can
we,
in
light
of
the
many
things
we've
discussed
tonight,
eliminate
a
workday.
E
I
mean
the
contract,
is
you
know,
a
contract
that
we've
signed,
and
I
I
just
asked
that
question
because-
and
this
may
be
something
we
have
to
have
further
discussion
on,
but
it
does
seem
to
me
that
that's
not
out
of
it's,
not
a
state,
you
know
it.
It.
S
Could
we
change
a
contract?
Yes,
we
would.
We
would
sit
down
with
the
bargaining
unit
and
negotiate
a
different
contract.
S
S
This
is
I'm
I'm
a
little
speechless,
because
I'm
completely
unprepared
to
react
to
a
closing
on
a
day
that
that
is
is
currently
a
work
day
for
staff,
though
it's
closed
for
students,
so
I
would
caution
the
board
about
making
a
decision
on
the
fly
like
this,
because
it
it
it
could
very
well
involve
negotiations
with
a
bargaining
unit
and
certainly
many
other
things
that
I'm
not
thinking
about
at
this
time
right.
Y
X
Yes,
I
so
I
know
there's
emotion
on
the
table.
I
I'm
not
speaking
to
the
motion.
I
am
just
suggesting
that
I
have
a
motion
to
be
made
and
I.
Y
Y
Okay,
miss
scholheim.
Y
I'm
sorry
I'm
sorry
before
going
to
you.
I
realized
I
didn't
speak
and
I
want
to
give
you
and
I'm
I'm
simply
going
to
say
that
I
I
agree
with
dr
alato's
recommendation
here
and
as
ms
dent
was
saying
earlier,
you
know
this
is
something
in
other
words,
the
other
thing
I
found
to
be
urgent.
This
one
is
not
as
urgent
so
we're
I
I
do
prefer
to
give
dr
arlatto
and
his
staff
time
to
get
back
to
us
on
on
this
recommendation.
Okay,.
C
C
So
I
want
to
recognize
the
folks
that
are
in
the
room
tonight
and
also
I
want
to
remind
folks
that
our
calendar
is
an
instructional
tool.
That
tool
is
also
a
statement
of
values
and
those
values
have
to
mean
have
to
align
with
our
mission
and
our
strategic
plan
of
all
means
all
so
whether
whether
this
this
particular
motion
passes
or
fails,
I
think
you
will
find
that
we
will.
We
will
get
this
done
one
way
or
another
and
soon
either
this
meeting
or
the
next.
So
so
I
just.
C
I
just
want
to
make
sure
that
that
folks
are
aware
of
that,
that
it's
a
statement
of
values.
We
need
to
be
inclusive,
and
this
essentially
I
hate
this
phrasing,
but
two
birds
anyway,
so
pd.
C
It
gives
a
mental
effect
to
the
teachers
and
it
very
very
much
supports
our
diverse
community.
Okay,.
L
A
X
Y
Second,
okay,
I've.
I
see
no
light,
so
I'm
gonna
start
talking
and
tell
you.
Thank
you,
mr
silkworth.
I
was
about
to
offer
something
very
similar
and
absolutely
I
am
fully
in
support.
Y
We
need
we
need
order.
Please
is
there
any
more
discussion
on
mr
silkworth.
Y
Y
Okay,
my
apologies:
we're
going
to
take
a
a
breather
for
just
a
moment:
five
minute
recess,
please.
A
A
A
Y
And
I
apologize
sometimes
when,
when
we
try
to
get
creative
when
we're
trying
to
work
together
to
get
things
done,.
Y
It
gets
a
little
confusing
and
a
little
messy
so
currently
just
to
make
sure
we're
all
clear.
We
are
on
item
6.05,
the
2021-2022
school
year
calendar
and
we
have
a
motion
on
the
table.
Mr
silkworth,
can
you
please
repeat
your
motion?
Yes,.
C
C
I
know,
but
I
I
I'm
I
am
speaking
about
this
in
its
relation
to
this,
to
this
motion
so
yeah
I
I
mean
the
other
one,
the
other
one
is
fine,
but
it's
it's.
C
If
we're
talking
about
alleviating
stress
now,
then
we've
just
kicked
the
can
down
the
road
a
few
extra
weeks
and
needlessly
we
could
have
had
both.
Y
Okay,
we
can
go
back
and
completely
debate
the
last
the
last
motion
that
failed,
because
you
know
I
certainly
have
counter
arguments
for
that.
But
we
currently
have
a
motion
on
the
table
and
that's
the
one
we're
discussing
now
and
I
I'm
sorry
the
implication
that
something
was
done
for
no
reason
is
is
is
offensive
to
some
members,
and
so
let's,
let's
try.
Let's
try
to
all
focus
we
are.
We
are
all
focused
on
the
well-being
of
of
the
school
community.
Y
Okay,
so
there's
a
motion
on
the
table
and
miss
howe
we're
ready
to
vote.
I
see
no
more
likes,
oh
unless
mr
silkworth,
you
want
to
speak
back
to
it,
ready.
L
F
D
I
also
have
a
motion.
I
move
to
request
the
superintendent
review,
a
potential
closure
date
on
may
3rd
after
reviewing
all
needed
contracts
and
bring
recommendations
to
this
board
at
our
january
5th
meeting.
C
S
Just
so
you
say
school
closure
we're
talking
about
a
system-wide
closure.
I
don't
want
to
put
words
in
your
mouth.
That's
my
understanding,
because
we're
already
school
is
closed.
Captioning
not.
S
D
L
Y
S
Thank
you.
Madam
president,
members
of
the
board
you
have
our
calendar
committee
met.
Mr
mosher
is
going
to
walk
you
through
some
of
the
information
regarding
that
calendar
committee
and
their
recommendations.
Thank
you.
B
Good
evening
again
for
the
record
bob
moser
chief
communications
officer,
I'm
here
to
present
the
2022
school
year,
calendar
the
calendar
committee's
recommendations
just
very
quickly
the
calendar
committee.
There
are
24
people
invited
to
take
part
in
the
calendar
committee,
so
14
of
those
are
represented
by
staff,
parent
and
student
groups
that
you
see
there
and
the
other
10
are
represented
from
aacps
offices.
B
So
the
committee
met
on
the
8th
of
november-
and
this
was
their
starting
point-
was
the
board
approved
21
22
school
year
calendar?
I
will
confess
to
you
at
the
outset
that
this
was
the
starting
point,
because
I
did
not
correctly
remember
your
january
2021
motion
about
the
start
of
the
school
year.
Nonetheless,
this
is
here
where
we
started
and
we
added
the
require
any.
We
first
considered
any
required
additions
to
the
calendar,
and
so
for
this
year
it
is
for
next
year.
It
is
just
closing
on
election
day
november.
B
The
8th,
so
here
is
the
motion
that
you
all
passed
in
2021.
If
labor
day
is
on
the
5th
or
later,
the
school
year
begins
the
preceding
monday
and
if
it's
on
the
4th
or
before
it
begins
the
day
after
labor
day.
So
quite
a
substantive
discussion
and
the
committee
organically
got
to
monday
august
29th
again,
they
didn't
have
that
the
benefit
of
that
motion
in
front
of
them.
B
But
here
are
the
decisions
they
made.
They
moved
the
start
of
the
school
year
recommended
that
to
the
29th
ed
al
fitter
falls
on
a
saturday
next
year,
so
it
is
not
reflected
in
the
current
calendar,
except
in
the
religious
observances
section
and
as
it
recommended
for
your
current
year,
calendar
it
designated
juneteenth
as
a
day
that
schools
and
offices
will
be
closed.
B
So
after
quite
a
bit
of
discussion
generated
around
the
the
setup
for
parent-teacher
conferences
in
the
current
year,
the
committee
decided
to
bring
you
two
calendar
proposals.
They
are
virtually
identical
and
I'll
go
through
that
in
just
a
second.
But
there
was
substantive
discussion
about
the
five
partial
day
conferences
as
opposed
to
the
full
day
conferences,
a
lot
of
talk
from
elementary
school
affiliated
folks
about
the
lack
of
time
for
elementary
school
parents
to
access
parent-teacher
conferences,
and
so
ultimately,
there
was
some
conversation
about
a
survey
about
the
effectiveness
of
conferences.
B
But
the
committee
came
off
of
that
because
the
majority
of
those
conferences
haven't
happened
yet
right.
So
four
of
the
five
days
have
not
yet
occurred
so
version.
A
of
your
calendar
has
two
full
conference
days
on
the
monday
and
tuesday
before
thanksgiving
and
version
b
has
the
five
partial
days
that
are
in
the
calendar
this
year.
So
here's
how
that
breaks
down.
B
So
the
part
number
of
partial
days
go
from
17,
which
we
currently
have
this
year
and
would
have,
in
version
b
to
15,
teachers
would
begin
their
work
year,
two
days
later,
in
version
a
than
they
would
in
version
b.
So
this
is
what's
common
to
both
calendars.
The
four
project,
unity
days
that
have
been
discussed
tonight,
the
eight
early
dismissal
days
at
the
end
of
two
at
the
end
of
each
marking,
period
and
schools
closed
for
rosh,
hashanah,
yom,
kippur
and
election
day.
B
As
I
mentioned,
both
calendars
maintain
a
week-long
easter
spring
break
a
three-day
thanksgiving
break
and,
as
I
mentioned,
juneteenth
is
closed.
So
this
is
this
is
the
visual
description
of
what
I
just
went
through
with
the
key
the
key
parts
of
the
calendar
that
are
different
in
each
version.
So
it's
the
start
of
the
school
year,
the
end
of
the
school
year
and
the
makeup
of
the
conferences
in
november,
and
with
that
I
will
attempt
to
answer
any
questions
that
you
have.
C
I
want
to
thank
mr
mosher
and
the
entire
calendar
committee
for
their
hard
work
on
this.
It's
it's
like
tetris,
it's
lots
of
moving
parts
and
it
can't
be
messy,
but
that
this
is
what
true
collaboration
looks
like.
I
don't
have
an
opinion
either
way
on
either
on
either
one
right.
C
Now,
I'm
looking
forward
to
hearing
from
the
the
community
and
to
I
will
absolutely
almost
certainly
have
an
amendment
or
two
at
the
next
meeting,
but
not
on
you
know
the
the
the
the
start
or
the
stop
or
whatever,
and
I
just
thank
you
for
your
work.
B
T
Thank
you,
president
ellis.
I
I'd
like
to
first
recognize
a
few
folks
in
the
room
who
have
been
waiting
very
patiently
and
every
year
they
work
collaboratively
with
our
school
district
to
ensure
the
community
needs,
and
so
I
just
want
to
recognize
them
and
thank
them
for
attending.
E
Yes,
thank
you
to
mr
mosher
in
the
committee.
Thank
you
to
all
the
members
of
the
community
who
have
attended
this
evening.
I
obviously
have
only
this
is
my
first
time
going
through
this.
Could
you
say
a
little
more
about
what
you
referred
to
with
regard
to
the
elementary
school
folks
concerns
around
parent-teacher
conference.
B
B
And
two
two
hour
late
arrivals,
which
allows
for
a
little
bit
less
than
than
two
hours
but
parents
with
elementary
school
children,
and
we
had
an
elementary
principal
on
the
panel
and
and
some
former
elementary
principals,
and
they
they
talked
about
the
difficulty
that
that
that
parents
are
that
teachers
are
having
squeezing
everyone
in
to
be
to
be
quite
frank
about
it
and
so
they're
trying
to
find
ways
to
do
it.
B
B
Build
extra
in
to
have
them
at
at
key
points
in
the
year.
The
the
one
in
october,
for
example,
is
is
highly
favored
by
the
students
and
and
some
of
the
the
middle
school
and
and
high
school
folks
on
the
panel,
because
it's
still
in
the
first
marking
period
and
you
can
help
to
to
correct
students.
Catch.
T
Thank
you,
president
alice,
and
to
my
colleagues
for
considering
this.
You
know,
as
I
was
researching
and
going
through,
as
I
do
with
every
single
year
when
it
gets
to
be
calendar
time.
One
of
the
things
I
always
have
to
do
is
kind
of
go
back
through
all
the
inventory
of
the
individualized
sort
of
things
that
we
have
done
over
the
years
and
it
big
the
question
to
me
is
that
maybe
we
should
be
clear
on
our
what
and
why,
and
so.
T
This
is
not
necessarily
a
true
cleanup
as
it
were,
but
I
I
kind
of
would
like
to
call
it
that,
because
we
do
have
a
lot
of
pending
things,
and
so
I
move
that
aacps
school
year
calendars
continue.
Our
traditional
recognition
of
national
state
school
and
community
observe
observances
and
that
the
calendars
be
prepared
so
as
to
minimize
conflict
with
the
holidays
of
all
faiths
and
without
endorsement
reasonably
accommodate
those
traditionally
observed
by
and
in
our
community.
Second.
C
F
Y
Thank
you.
I
was
just
giving
a
moment
in
case
people
have
everyone.
I
I
see.
No,
I
see
no
discussion.
T
I
will
just
say
in
closing,
thank
you
all
very
much
and
I
look
forward
to
us
debating
the
individualized
dates
on
the
calendar
at
our
next
meeting
like
we
traditionally
do
and
have
that
spirited
discussion,
alongside
with
our
amendments
and
work
with
my
colleagues
to
come
up
with
the
best
calendar
and
sort
of
digest
what
our
folks
think
about
it
and
come
up
with
the
appropriate
final
version,
and
hopefully
we
won't
have
to
go
back
in
a
bunch
of
times
this
year
thereafter.
Y
Y
V
Y
Is
anyone,
dr
alato,
sorry
thank.
S
Y
So
now
item
3.06
the
superintendence
report,
school
operations,
doctor.
S
S
Our
department
of
health
will
watch
the
high
school
data
carefully
and
it
is
our
intention
to
extend
these
new
protocols
to
our
middle
schools
and
then
our
elementary
schools
over
the
course
of
the
next
several
weeks,
because
there
appears
to
be
because
there
appear
to
be
some
confusion
and
uncertainty
about
possible
student
exposure
as
a
result
of
the
school-wide
notifications
regarding
letters
posted
to
the
aecps
website.
When
there
is
a
positive
case
in
a
school
building,
we
will
discontinue
sending
those
school-wide
notifications
moving
forward.
S
S
S
This
week,
the
current
week
we're
in
november
15th
to
the
20th.
It
is
projected
that
our
department
of
health
will
administer
1800
vaccines,
roughly
150
doses
per
clinic
as
of
november
15th,
the
department
of
health
shared
with
us
that
they
have
administered
3700
vaccines
to
students
in
anne
arundel
county
between
the
ages
of
11
and
5
years
old,
at
both
aacps
sites
and
health
department
sites
across
the
county.
S
As
you
are
aware,
we
are
instituting
a
required
vaccination
or
testing
program
for
all
our
employees.
As
of
yesterday.
Oh,
I
just
lost
it.
As
of
yesterday,
99
of
the
staff
has
have
responded
to
the
online
attestation
as
to
their
vaccination
status.
Of
those
that
have
responded,
91
percent
have
declared
that
they
are
vaccinated.
S
S
AA
Thank
you
good
evening,
president
ellis
vice
president
schellheim
members
of
the
board
and
dr
arlatto
for
the
record.
I
am
monique
jackson,
deputy
superintendent
for
student
and
school
support.
Thank
you
for
the
opportunity
to
give
you
a
brief
update
on
the
athletics
vaccination
or
testing
program,
the
purpose
of
which
is
to
have
student
athletes
compete
in
a
winter
season
for
the
first
time
in
several
months
in
the
safest
manner
possible,
while
reducing
the
number
of
quarantined
students
without
losing
out
on
a
season.
AA
First
per
the
board
request,
an
advisory
group
was
set
up
to
include
parents,
students,
coaches,
athletic
directors
and
administrators
from
from
the
high
school
from
all
high
schools.
Our
first
meeting
was
earlier
this
month
and
we
can.
We
will
continue
to
meet
at
least
monthly
throughout
the
year
through
the
lens
of
equity
and
the
decision-making
model.
Suggestions
from
the
group
guide,
the
expectations,
communication
and
review
of
the
process
for
your
situational
awareness.
I
will
re
over
give
an
overview
of
the
timeline
since
the
announcement.
AA
AA
AA
AA
The
vendor
will
give
the
school
a
date
and
a
time
for
the
athletic
testing,
and
we
will
work
with
the
athlete
who
is
unable
to
test
on
a
particular
week
due
to
an
unforeseen
circumstance
such
as
an
illness.
Thank
you
again
for
the
opportunity
to
update
you,
and
I
will
continue
to
ask
for
your
grace
and
patience.
S
As
many
of
you
aware,
the
job
fair
with
the
anne
arundel
county
workforce
development
corporation
was
last
night
at
severna
park
high
school.
This
joint
initiative
with
county
workforce
development,
aacps
office
of
human
resources,
county
recreation
and
parks
and
the
department
of
health
was
very
successful.
We
had
over
400
individuals
pre-register
for
the
job,
fair
and
177
walk-ins,
with
a
line
out
the
door.
S
We
are
very
appreciative
of
our
partners
working
so
closely
with
us
on
this
important
endeavor
and
the
conversations
have
already
begun
to
replicate
this
job
fair
into
the
future.
I'd
also
just
a
special
thank
you
to
our
team
in
hr
and
mr
shaknovic
for
their
leadership
in
this
important
endeavor.
Thank
you.
S
S
Unfortunately,
for
a
host
of
reasons,
we
are
gaining
them
as
quickly
as
we
are
losing
them
and
we
continue
to
hold
at
a
steady
state
of
roughly
anywhere
from
25
to
30
or
so
routes
not
covered
in
a
given
day.
The
good
news
is,
we
are
beginning
to
attract
drivers,
getting
them
through
the
process
and
having
the
mba
having
their
saturday.
Hours
for
testing
open
is
been,
has
been
very,
very
helpful
and
we
and
our
contractors
have
taken
very
much,
have
taken
full
advantage
of
that.
S
Several
members
of
the
board
asked
during
our
last
meeting
for
information
regarding
our
water
testing
program.
Now
that
schools
are
open,
our
testing
program
has
been
restarted
in
earnest.
Our
contractor
is
moving
through
the
established
schedule
without
any
delays.
The
results
are
posted
on
our
website
at
www.aacps.org.
S
Slash
all
one
word:
water
test
results,
those
are
updated
each
week
as
the
contractor
completes
those
by
school.
You
can
click
on
the
school
as
listed
and
see
which
of
the
outlets
have
been
deemed
appropriate
or
not,
and
then
what
the
remedy
is
for
each
of
those
water
outlets
each
year
securing
substitute
teachers
is
a
challenge
for
any
school
system.
This
year
has
been
particularly
difficult,
while
we
have
over
a
thousand
substitute
teachers
on
our
rolls.
S
S
S
Our
current
fill
rate
is
considerably
lower
this
year
than
the
2018
2019,
our
last
full
in
person
school
year
and
the
2019
2019-2020
school
year.
We
are
currently
averaging
a
fill
rate
of
58,
meaning
of
the
jobs
that
are
put
out
online.
Only
58
are
being
filled
by
substitutes
in
october
and
november
of
2018-19,
that
average
fill
rate
was
74
and
in
1920
the
average
was
76.3
percent.
S
For
fy
22,
as
you
are
aware,
we
have
a
total
of
90
authorized
permanent
substitute
ftes,
as
of
today,
81
or
almost
82
of
those
ftes
have
been
filled,
and
we
have
currently
nine
vacancies
again.
S
This
is
for
permanent
substitutes
for
the
fy
21
for
fy21
there
were
a
total
of
79.8
authorized,
ftes
and
71
in
november
of
2020.,
the
point
there
being
that
we
were
through
your
budget
and
fy
22
increased
the
number
of
permanent
substitutes
they
for
the
most
part,
have
been
hired
and
are
deployed
at
schools,
and
mr
silkworth
will
attest
to
their
importance
in
a
school
building.
Have
those
permanent
subs
there
every
day
on
a
daily
basis,
regardless
of
what
the
absentee
rate
is
at
that
school?
Absolutely.
S
Given
the
challenges
of
reopening
amidst
the
pandemic
and
having
had
to
operate
in
the
virtual
and
hybrid
environments
during
the
previous
to
school
years,
we
are,
as
you
are
delighted
to
have
students
return
to
our
schools.
Our
students
and
staff
are
amazing
and
wonderfully
resilient
and
we
are
thrilled
that
our
students
have
returned
to
full
in-person
learning
with
that.
Madam
president,
I
turn
it
to
you.
Thank
you.
Y
Thank
you,
dr
lotto.
Miss
schalheim.
C
Yes,
thank
you,
lots
of
facts
and
figures
to
keep
straight.
I
will
no
doubt
be
watching
this
part
back
to
tomorrow.
To
make
sure
I
got
it
all.
I
want
to
speak
specifically
to
my
so
I
know,
what's
likely
coming
before
us
and
that's
talk
of
the
the
student
vaccine
or
test
program
has
mpssaa
weighed
in
on
this
at
all
and
what
I
know
we've
talked
with
our
surrounding
leas.
C
S
Yes,
thank
you,
miss
scholheim
for
the
question,
so
no
mpssaa
has
not
played
in
on
this
they've
made
no
deter.
I
should
say:
they've
made
no
requirement
or
determination
on
this
they're,
leaving
it
to
the
local
jurisdictions
to
make
a
decision
about
vax
or
test
or
not
at
all.
Regarding
our
colleagues
around
the
state,
I
am
aware
of
only
two
school
systems
that
are
not
do
not
have
a
vaccination
or
testing
program
in
some
form
or
fashion
in
place.
F
S
But
there
are
even
smaller
districts
than
that
that
are
so
all
the
large
districts
plus
a
number
all
the
districts
on
the
eastern
shore
in
their
athletic
collaborative,
have
agreed
to
to
do
a
vaccination
or
testing
program
in
some
way,
shape
or
form.
I
can't
explain
exactly
what
all
of
their
the
intricacies
of
their
program
are,
but
they're
all
in
essence,
similar
to
ours.
There
are
some
districts
that
are
that
it
is
not
a
choice.
It
is
vaccination
or
not
play.
S
C
And
we
just
went
through
the
fall
season
without
and
forgive
me
if
the
fall
season
is
still
going
on.
I
just
have
a
fifth
grader,
and
so
the
whole
calendar
is
sort
of
irrelevant
in
my
personal
non
board
serving
role,
so
I
should
say
the
the
the
fall,
the
the
sports
that
have
already
occurred
prior
to
this,
going
into
effect.
C
How
often
were
teams
negatively
affected
by
by
by
quarantines
and
and
an
illness.
I
guess
I
just
want
to
understand.
C
If
that
makes
sense,
it's
in
my
in
my
head.
It
makes
sense,
I
don't
know
if
it
came
out.
S
S
S
I'm
looking
forward
to
that
win.
Thank
you
and
broadneck.
High
school
girls
soccer
will
be
competing
saturday
night
in
the
state
championships
wow.
Let
me
also
take
that
up
the
opportunity
before
I
get
to
answering
your
question
that,
through
the
fall
we've
had,
seven
state
championships
won
so
far
by
our
amazing
students.
S
Arundel
high
school
cheerleading
won
the
state
championship,
as
did
arundel
high
school
field
hockey
glen
burnie
high
school
cheerleading
won
their
first
any
spa,
their
first
state
championship
in
the
last
22
years,
north
county
high
school
one
unified
tennis,
as
did
severna
park
high
school
winning,
unified
tennis
several
park
high
school
boys
cross
country
won
the
states
and
severna
park.
High
school
field
hockey
won
the
4a.
S
And
just
to
put
it
out
there,
luke
coffin
from
annapolis,
high
school,
won
the
boys
4a
cross
country
championship
wow.
So
with
that,
thank
you
for
the
opportunity.
We
had
teams
that,
throughout
the
fall
season
lost
students
to
quarantining,
we
did
have
to
quarantine.
Some
full
teams
early
in
the
season
is
that
right.
S
Mr
mosher,
mr
mosher
was
dealing
with
this
on
a
day-to-day
basis,
so
there
were
several
teams
that,
because
of
outbreaks
had
to
shut
the
entire
team
down
for
a
14-day
period
while
and
then
they
were
able
to
start
back
up,
but
I
believe
there
were
no.
I
believe
all
the
teams
were
able
to
finish
their
seasons.
Is
that
accurate?
All
the
teams
are
able
to
finish
their
seasons
all
right
they
were.
S
Very
good,
so
so
I
hope
that
between
those
counties
and
what
they're
doing
and
and
the
impact
on
the
fall
student
athletes.
C
That
is
incredibly
helpful
and
congratulations
to
all
of
our
wonderful
athletes.
I
do
I
do
see
just
despite
how
that
I'm
just
gonna
put
my
foot
deeper
into
my
mouth.
I
guess,
but
I
do
see
the
wonderfulness
that
comes
out
in
the
press
releases,
but
it's
been
a
day
and
anyway,
you
all
are
amazing.
Thank
you
for
answering
my
question.
I
have
no
further
questions.
I've
already
been
too
wordy,
as
it
is.
E
Thank
you,
and
while
we're
celebrating,
I
just
want
to
say
that
at
least
at
annapolis,
high
school,
this
coming
weekend
is
going
to
be
the
first
drama
company
performance
since
the
shutdown
and
I'm
sure
similar
things
are
going
on
at
the
other
high
schools,
and
I
just
want
to
say,
while
sports
has
continued
in
some
fashion,
things
like
theater
have
not
so
many
of
our
students
are
just
thrilled
to
finally
be
on
stage
and
so
just
come
out
and
see
radium
girls
this
weekend
at
annapolis,
high
but
other
than
that.
E
So,
dr
arlata.
With
regard
to
the
ongoing
transportation
saga,
I
know
that
we
are
awaiting
regulations
with
regard
to
recently
passed
legislation
that
would
give
us
a
little
more
flexibility
in
the
kinds
of
vehicles
that
we
transport
students,
and
we
don't
know
when
that
those
regulations
will
come
down.
E
What
I've
heard
is
fairly
soon,
but
you
know
that's.
That
is
what
it
is,
but
once
we
get
those
do,
we
have
alternatives,
ready
to
move
that
can
enable
us
to
be
flexible
and
start
making
up
for
where
we
have
these
gaps,
that
you
know
you
and
your
staff
continue
to
wrestle
with.
S
So
I
don't
know
that
I
can
fully
answer
that
question
because
it
is,
it
is
so
dependent
upon
what
the
regulations
are.
E
S
What
vehicles
will
be
allowed
to
access
if
it
is
something
as
simple
as
let's
say,
a
15
passenger
van
with
someone
that
does
not
need
to
have
a
cdl
a
certified
license
in
that
term
to
to
drive
that
van,
then
I
believe
we
can
fairly
quickly
stand
up
a
program
we
have
built
into
upcoming
budgets
and
including
the
esser
grant
to
to
purchase
some
vans
for
the
future
and
transportation,
particularly
for
our.
S
I
want
to
get
this
right,
mr
check,
which,
for
the
homeless,
built
into
mckinney
vinto
and
special
education
students
non-publix,
thank
you,
so
that
is
built
into
we're.
Building
that
into
budgets
and
and
supplemented
by
some
of
our
esser
funds.
Is
that
right?
S
So,
but
in
the
meantime,
if
that
were
to
pass
tomorrow
with
something
that
we
could
access
fairly
quickly
of
an
approved
vehicle
right.
F
S
E
T
S
V
T
40
40
40,
40.,
okay,
so
we've
got
a
long
way
to
go
on
that
num
on
that
vax
number,
then,
okay,
but
definitely
good
progress
on
the
on
the
week
to
week.
That's
amazing
and
and
I'll
just
say
once
again
last
time,
the
way
we
we
orchestrated
this
is
absolutely
outstanding.
T
I
wanted
to
address
a
couple
things
and
one
has
to
do
with
the
volunteers,
in
our
schools
and
hearing
from
our
teachers-
and
you
know
mental
health
days
aside
and
all
of
that
that's
already
been
hashed
out
most
certainly,
I
gotta
presume
that
even
if
it's
a
matter
of
making
copies
or
helping
you
know,
put
take
down,
fall
and
put
up
winner
for
the
elementaries
and
there's
so
many
little
major
big
things
that
they
do
given
the
fact
that
we
are
having
performances
in
the
schools
and
other
events
taking
place
and
we're
not
seeing
co-associating
spikes,
or
at
least
none
that
I'm
I'm
looking
at.
T
I
mean
we're
we're
at
10
no
more
than
10
per
school
in
in
the
student
environment
and
our
active
our
aggregate
numbers,
obviously
higher
it.
T
Do
we
have
an
indication
of
when
we're
going
to
have
protocols
established,
so
we
can
get
them
back
in,
because
I
think
our
community
really
wants
to
help
us
and
really
wants
to
help
our
teachers,
and
that
is
one
of
the
most
direct
ways
that
we
can
accomplish
that,
even
if
it's
standing
outside
on
the
sidewalk
and
they're
already
allowed
to
come
in
to
to
handle
other
courses
of
business,
that
safety
factor
of
our
walkers
and
our
buses
and
our
carpoolers
coming
in
I'm
just
sort
of
wondering
when,
when
all
that
can
happen,.
S
S
We
were
going
to
create
as
much
of
cohorts
as
we
could
as
we
could
and
safe
pods,
because
our
goal
was
to
open
schools
yep
and
keep
them
open,
and
we
said
we
targeted
the
getting
through
the
first
marking
period
in
a
safe,
a
manner
as
possible,
and
then
we
would
begin
to
open
up
to
more
visitors
in
particular
to
volunteers,
and
so
that
work
is
under
mrs
jackson's
leadership.
That
work
has
already
begun
meeting
with
the
principals
and
allowing
more
volunteers
into
the
schools.
T
Could
we
get
a
little
more
detail
like
when
so
like
I
mean
we
get
reached
out
to,
I
know,
and
at
least
one
or
two
of
my
colleagues,
in
addition
to
me
and
and
what
type
of
what
like,
what
are
we
bringing
in
when,
like
just
to
kind
of
get
a
feel?
I
I
don't
want
to
dig
into
the
house,
or
this
is
not
like
a
prep
for
emotion
thing,
but
I
I
am
kind
of
curious.
T
You
know
so
the
parents
and
the
people
who
are
have
been
non
at
the
bit
to
get
back
and
and
help
out.
You
know
what
can
they
expect
to
see
in
communication
too,
if
you
could
include
that
yeah.
S
I
would
I
would
ask
them,
as
as
direct
those
folks,
the
principles
of
their
school's
buildings
and
they'll
work
directly
with
their
principal.
The
principal
will
tell
them
exactly
what
their
needs
are
and
how
they
can
best
access.
The
building
so
I'll
ask
them
to
work
directly
with
the
school
prince
I'll
shoot
a
point
in
the
direction
school
principal.
T
And
so,
which
are
we
bringing
in
certain
types
of
volunteers
at
first
or
I
didn't
hear
the
answer
to
that.
S
No
because
it's
so
very
different
at
different
schools,
how
what
what
folks
volunteer
to
do,
how
often
it's
also
very
different
from
school
to
school?
That's
why
I
say
I'll
leave
it
to
the
principals.
We've
now
told
the
principals.
They
can
begin
to
open
up
and
invite
people
back
in
to
doing
volunteer
work
in
the
schools,
and
so
it's
really
on
a
school-by-school
basis.
T
S
We
are
not
I'm
going
to
leave
that
to
the
principles
based
on
their
need
and
what
the
volunteers
want
to
do
in
the
buildings.
I
certainly
will
caution
the
principles
that
we're
not
going
to
start
allowing
hundreds
of
people
a
day
into
the
building.
I
don't
think
that's
safe
for
our
students
or
staff,
but
those
that
come
in
and
volunteer
in
the
pta
office
or,
as
you
say,
making
copies
all
wonderful
ways
to
volunteer
in
the
schools
and
we'll
leave
that
to
the
principles
to
make
this
those
decisions.
Is
there
anything
I've
missed.
Mrs
jackson,.
T
So
things
like
helping
out
with
the
carpool
lines,
for
example
you
know,
and
the
buses
and
stuff
that's
something
that
we
can,
that
if
someone
wants
to
help
out
with,
for
example,.
T
Because
I
just
think
about
when
I'm
hearing
the
feedback
from
our
teachers
and
our
staff
that
that's
one
of
the
biggest
challenges-
and
that's
also
one
of
those
big
safety
concerns
of
parents,
if
they
don't
see
the
person
out
there
and
with
our
buses
being
you
know
in
our
call
carpool
lines
extending
it
seemed
to
me
like
that,
was
like
that
first
priority
kind
of
and
and
getting
some
of
those
folks
to
to
support
our
teachers.
So
that's
all
that's
all
really
good
news.
I
did
have
two
questions
as
a
follow-up.
T
B
I
would
say
a
handful
okay,
but
right
in
the
early
parts,
as
student
athletes
came
back
from
summer
into
the
early
parts
of
training,
camp
pre-season.
T
And
so
we
had
our
sports
running
kind
of
you
know
in
different
ways.
Last
year
clearly
did
we
see
an
increase,
a
decrease
from
the
we
weren't
vaccinated
yet
to
the
vaccinated
four
months
later,.
B
I
don't
I
don't
have
that
data
right
in
front
of
me.
I
don't
know
that
we
saw
an
increase
or
decrease
because
remember
the
standards
were
different
right
and
so,
as
the
vaccinations
came
in
then
then
more
and
more
student
athletes
who
were
vaccinated
could
keep
playing,
and
I
have
to
tell
you,
while
I
have
the
opportunity
that
our
coaches
and
ads
were
unbelievable,
just
absolutely
on
principals.
All
of
them
just
did
a
magnificent
job
of
you
know.
You
have
to
coach
differently
than
you
did
before
right.
T
I
I
think
the
commitment
to
the
excellence
and
what
you
get
out
of
a
sport
in
and
of
itself.
You
know,
I
I
think,
compels
people
to
to
really
do
their
best
to
comply,
and
you
really
can't
play
on
the
team
unless
everybody's
agreed
to
play
by
the
same
rules
right.
Otherwise,
I
think.
T
Have
penalty
boxes,
but
could
you
there
was
one
other
question
I
had,
and
I
know
I
had
brought
this
up
beforehand
with
folks,
but
I
just
gotta
ask
what,
as
this
is
specific,
I
don't
know
if
miss
jackson
would
know
the
answer
to
this
but
unified
bowling.
T
I
I
just
want
to
come
back
to
that
folks,
because
I
I
do
have
to
say
that
I
am
not
understanding
what
I
I
understand,
what
all
the
other
sports
do
and
how
they
interact,
but
when
it
comes
to
unified
bowling,
my
understanding
is
each
kid
gets
their
own.
You
know
like
there's
they're
they're
completely
alone,
and
so
I'm
not
understanding
what
it
is
about
unified
bowling.
T
That
would
compel
us
to
impose
the
additional
protocols
associated
with
the
other
sports,
especially
when
I
know
some
of
our
special
students
who
are
participating
in
it
are
some
that
can,
you
know,
have
challenges
with
you
know
and
require
ot
to
wear
it
for
mask
wearing
and
stuff,
and
and
so
I'm
just
having
a
hard
time
understanding
what
makes
that
sport,
uniquely.
S
They
that
many
of
our
differently
abled
students
are
supported,
sometimes
physically
by
their
non-disabled
peers,
and
so
there
is
close
proximity
they're
also
inside
public
bowling
alleys,
which
is
another
thing
that
has
concerned
us
about
the
public
coming
and
going
while
they
are
either
at
practice
or
in
competition,
and
so
we
thought
it
best
that
we
include
both
the
non-disabled
and
the
differently
disabled
students
in
our
unified
programs
in
bowling,
in
this
case,
as
the
winter
as
a
chosen
winter
sport
to
adhere
to
that
same
either
vaccine
or
testing
process.
S
If
a
student
is
unable
to
get
a
vaccine
or
unable
to
go
through
the
testing
process
and
has
a
waiver,
then
we
will
certainly
honor
that.
T
So
I
thought
the
those
that
require,
or
are
advantaged
by
having
folks
helping
them
in
a
in
a
close
proximity,
are
already
doing
that
in
our
schools
and
we
do
not
vax
or
test
them
when
they
are
in
the
classroom.
So
can
you
explain
what
that
difference
is
because
I
I'm
just
not
visualizing
it
so
we're.
S
Talking
about
students,
not
staff,
so
staff
are
in
close
proximity
to
those
differently
disabled
students
during
the
school
day
in
their
classrooms,
not
their
peers
that
are
working
with
them
now,
in
necessarily
in
in
the
unified
sport.
T
You
had
stated
that
because
we
have
students,
interacting
and
helping
other
students,
while
they're
participating
in
the
sport
and
that
some
folks
require
that,
and
so
therefore,
would
be
part
of
their
iep
right
to
have
that
support.
They're.
Getting
that
from
staff
during
the
day
is
in
the
classroom
right.
S
T
Okay,
so
we
can't
so
we
can't
create
a
protocol
that
simply
says
the
students
keep
their
distance
like
they
would
in
a
classroom
in
order
to
keep
them
from
having,
because
the
testing
is
kind
of
a
burden,
and
I'm
thinking
about
that
logistically
and
those
students
also
have
apprehensions
to
that
because
of
what
they
have
to
go
through
on
a
on
a
regular
basis.
And
so
we
can't
it
is.
We
can't
like
do
something
like
that
for
them
to
to
try
to
give
them
some
relief
and
still
participate
in
that
vaccine
test
scene.
S
I
I'm,
I
don't
believe
that
we
can.
I
think
what
you're
suggesting
is
that
the
non-disabled
student
would
not.
S
A
M
T
Guess
that
that's
fine,
I
just
honestly
I'm
not!
I
just
don't
see
the
difference
for
personally
I
I
guess
at
the
end
of
the
day,
I
don't
want
to
take
up
too
much
time,
but
miss.
Y
Crocodile
can
I
come
back
to
you
some
other.
T
X
Thank
you,
president
ellis.
I
have
a
question
or
two,
but
before
I
get
to
that,
I
just
want
to
give
my
perspective
about
the
athletic
program.
X
I
just
felt
that
the
football's,
the
the
sports
season
fall
sports
season
was
done
extremely
well.
We
did
have
some
issues,
but
that's
just
a
comment
from
this
49-year
veteran,
so
the
job
fair
did
go
very
well,
which
is
exciting
at
savannah
park
high
school,
I
think
you
said
400
individual
pre-registered
and
177
walk-ins.
I
just
wondering
if
there's
a
breakdown
in
terms
of
the
numbers
that
were
there
to
be
bus
drivers
or
java
or
subs
or
teachers,
and
will
there
be
another
job,
fair.
S
S
I
don't
know
that
there
is
a
breakdown
by
by
then
the
individual
folks
may
have
a
number
of
how
many
came
to
the
parks
and
rec
table
or
the
jobs,
bus
service
table
or
the
sta
bus
service
table
or
our
technology
table
they
may
have
individually,
but
we
were
encouraging
folks
to
move
about
and
consider
a
variety
of
possible
jobs
and
careers
that
it
wasn't
just
relying
on
a
single
one
unless
they
maybe
had
a
they
purposely
were
coming
to
visit
because
they
wanted
to
be
a
school
nurse
or
or
or
a
health
room
aid.
S
Maybe
they
were
coming
to
the
health
department
that
specifically,
but
we
were
encouraging
folks
as
they
were
registering
and
coming
into
the
day
to
move
about
and
talk
to
different
folks
about
different
job
possibilities.
D
Okay,
thank
you.
So
you
you
did
mention
something
about
waivers.
Do
we
have
waivers
in
place
for
student
athletes.
D
D
What
is
the
company
tasked
with
the
testing?
Do
you
know
that.
S
S
D
Yeah,
I
do
think
I
saw
the
name
somewhere,
but
I
couldn't
go
back
and
find
it.
So
I
do
have
some
questions
about
the
the
student
data
with
the
the
company
capital
diagnostics.
How
security
savvy
have
we
been
when
we
look
at
what
this
company
is
going
to
be
doing
with
student
data?
S
They'll,
have
they
have
a
student
name?
Is
the
only
information
that
each
school
will
feed
them
and
then
they
will
conduct
the
testing
there's
no
other.
They
have
no
access
to
our
student
information
database.
They
don't
have
access
to.
We
don't
give
them
birth
dates
or
height,
or
weight
or
shoe
size.
We
give
them
no
information,
they
simply
have
a
name
and
they'll
know
that
in
that
let's
say
it's
george
arlatto,
who
was
on
the
wrestling
team
at
north
county
high
school.
S
I
am
not
vaccinated
or,
and
I
am
being
tested
on
a
weekly
basis.
I
will
know
for
my
coach
what
day
I
am
to
report
during
that
week
and
the
the
all
the
testing
company
knows
is
that
george
rollout
is
supposed
to
be
their
test.
S
That
is
common
language
in
our
contracts,
but
let
me
check
this
contract
specifically
because
it
was
a
it
began
as
a
boilerplate
contract
from
the
state
of
maryland
that
they
passed
us
and
then
we're
able
to
alter
somewhat
each
jurisdiction
was
based
on
their
testing
program
and
protocols
and
what
they
agreed
to.
So
let
me
check
that,
specifically
for
you
and
get
back
to
you.
Okay,.
D
Thank
you.
My
other
question
has
to
do
with
the
employee
vaccines
and
I'm
sure
that
you've
probably
seen
that
there
have
been
some
federal
injunctions
just
in
the
last
few
days,
there
are
other
pending
challenges
to
the
ocean.
Mandatory
roles
on
vaccine
and
testing.
D
Okay
yeah,
I
just
I
just
want
to
bring
it
up
that
on
november
12th,
I'm
on
osha's
website
the
court
of
appeals
for
the
fifth
circuit
granted
a
motion
to
stay
osha's,
covert,
19
covet
19
vaccination
and
testing
emergency
temporary
standard
and
osha
ordered
that
we
they
take
no
steps
to
implement
or
enforce
the
ets
until
further
court
order,
because
there
are
some
concerns
about
litigation.
Y
Sorry,
I
just
want
to
offer
my
support
for
getting
every
single
volunteer
who's
ready
to
help
into
our
schools
as
quickly
as
possible.
I'm
glad
we're
moving
forward
with
that
and
hail
to
the
arts.
The
arts
are
alive
in
our
schools.
I
just
came
from
a
performance
at
studio
39
and
I
am
so
happy
to
see
our
kids
singing
and
dancing
and
acting
again.
C
Sorry,
I
just
I
had
a
couple
more
questions,
good
segway,
because
one
of
them
has
to
do
with
volunteerism,
so
were
I
know
that
the
the
individual
parent
or
parents
or
interested
parties
should
go
to
the
principal.
My
question
is:
have
all
principles
at
all
levels
been-
and
I
assume
the
answers?
Yes
communicated
with
that
that
this
is
now
it's
it's
their
jurisdiction
again
to
offer
opportunities
as.
AA
We,
dr
mcmahon
and
I
host
monthly
bi-weekly
meetings
with
our
principals
and,
as
dr
alado
said,
and
we
said
all
along
during
the
second
marking
period,
we
would
see
where
we
were
and
move
to
open
up
to
visitors
for
a
specific
purpose.
I
want
to
be
very
clear
about
that.
Second
part
for
a
specific
purpose
and
for
a
specific
purpose
means
that
a
principal
will
outline
he
or
she
will
outline
the
specific
reasons
why
they
need
volunteers
and
then
will
request
those
volunteers.
AA
AA
So,
for
example,
that
may
look
like
a
principal
will
say:
we'll
re-welcome
the
stair
program,
for
example
back
into
the
school
or
girls,
on
the
run,
for
example,
or
they
may
say.
I
need
a
specific
set
of
volunteers
to
help
do
x,
y
or
z
in
the
classrooms
with
the
teachers,
or
I
may
need
a
volunteer
to
read
with
a
group
of
struggling
readers,
so
it
is
very
purposeful
and
it
aligns
with
our
strategic
plan,
eliminating
the
opportunity
gap
and
the
school
improvement
plans
at
the
school
level.
AA
C
C
But
how
are
we
supporting
those
teachers
specifically
and
and
and
are
we
altering
any
sort
of
recruitment
plans
or
making
use
of
of
s
or
two
monies
or
upcoming
s
or
three
monies,
to
help
make
sure
that
those
services
are
delivered
appropriately?.
S
So
we
certainly
are,
and
you
are
absolutely
right-
we
have
shortages
in
all
areas,
including
special
education,
so
we
have
we
are.
We
are
using
some
of
our
esr
funds
to
hire
contract
work,
to
help
with
to
make
sure
that
all
the
services
are
delivered
to
students.
S
We
can
identify
compensatory
or
recovery
services
for
students
that
were
not
able
to
be
fully
served
while
we
were
in
the
virtual
and
or
hybrid
environment,
so
iep
teams
are
going
through
that
process.
Now
individually,
student
by
student,
parent
by
parent
and
going
through,
I
think,
we've
completed
over
3000
of
those
iep
reviews
for
recovery
and
compensatory
services
we'll
have
to
go
through
continue
to
go
through
that
process.
Until
we've
completed
all
of
our
special
education
students
and
identified
their
needs.
Much
of
though
many
of
those
services
some
can
be
delivered
during
the
school
year.
S
D
In
light
of
the
recent
availability
of
children
ages,
five
and
up
to
receive
a
vaccine,
a
consistently
low
county-wide
case
rate
falling
seven
day
average
and
legal
challenges
currently
awaiting
adjudication.
It
is
apparent
that
the
covet
mitigation
strategies
must
evolve
to
reflect
these
ongoing
changes
and
improvements
to
our
county.
T
Y
Yeah,
I
see
no
lights,
so
I
I
do
plan
to
support
this.
I
think
all
along
we've
been
always
saying
moving
forward
when
people
have
the
opportunity
to
have
the
vaccine-
and
we
have
reached
that
point-
I've
not
been
in
favor
of
moving
the
goal
posts,
which
is
what
feels
like
has
been
happening.
So,
yes,
I
support
miss
frank.
Do
you
have
anything
you
want
to.
D
I
don't
think
that
some
of
our
public
was
immediately
aware
of
that.
I
know
that
some
of
them
have
asked
me
about
that,
and
I
didn't
understand
that
before
tonight
we
have
a
a
less
than
one
percent,
severe
case
rate
with
morbidity
in
in
children,
we're
going
to
take
a
less
than
one
percent
and
bring
it
down
to
a
less
than
one
percent
with
a
vaccine,
and
when
we
look
at
the
overall
endgame
of
that,
I
don't
see
who
it
benefits.
D
V
Great
four
fifth
grade
and
above.
D
So
in
my
in
my
preamble,
I
mentioned
that
children,
five
and
eight
and
older
are
able
to
now
get
a
vaccine,
and
I
mentioned
in
my
closing
that
that
was
the
last
piece
that
dr
k
mentioned
when
he
came
to
testify
to
us.
That
would
be
needed
to
to
beat
this
pandemic,
as
is
I'm
summarizing.
D
But
that
was
the
last
piece
that
was
needed
and
then
we
would
start
to
move
forward.
So
my
motion
is
to
overturn
the
superintendent's
requirements,
mandating
any
student
athlete
undergo
covet
testing
or
to
get
a
vaccine,
because
if,
if
we're
reducing
community
spread
and-
and
that
was
what
the
goal
was,
then
we're
at
a
point
where
we
no
longer
need
to
make
mandates.
Because
anyone
who
wants
a
vaccine
can
now
have
one
over
the
age
of
five,
which
is
the
general
age
that
our
kids
start
school.
U
Okay,
I
fail
to
see
the
the
link
between
either
one.
I
I
still
firmly
believe,
as
I've
stated
before,
that.
U
Superintendent
has
put
this
in
place.
The
board
is
overturning
a
decision
that
the
board
had
a
responsibility
prior
to
that
to
make
a
decision
on.
So
I
always
question
when
we
make
decisions
once
again
that
doesn't
have
information
that
I
at
least
from
me
the
last
time
dr
colorama
was
here.
He
did
mention
that,
but
I
don't
think
that
he's
came
back
to
say
that
we're
out
of
the
clear,
because
those
vaccines
are
available
to
my
last
knowledge
and
unless
something
has
changed
less
than
two
weeks
ago
is
when
it
was
made
available.
U
So
we
haven't
had
ample
opportunity
not
only
to
get
people
vaccinate
vaccinated.
I
think
that
again,
that's
we're
at
a
premature
decision
based
off
of
not
enough
medical
documentation
for
us
to
make
those
decisions.
U
While
I
do
agree
with
you
as
a
parent
choice,
I
also
have
to
think
about
the
fact
that
I've
had
loved
ones
that
have
contracted
killed
it
and
I've
had
children
that
have
contracted
copic
and
it's
not
a
pretty
scene.
U
So
I
think
that
I
would
ask
that
we
look
at
a
little
bit
more
time
and
data
before
we
make
this
decision.
That's
all
I
have.
T
I
just
want
to
point
out
a
a
couple
points
of
why
I'm
con
I'm
I'm
going
to
be.
I
am
in
support
of
this
as
of
this
moment
and
number
one
is
I
I
have
considered
what
dr
kaliano
raman
has
said
and
one
of
the
things
that
he
said
that
stuck
out
in
my
mind,
was
that
number
one
is
when
the
decision
was
originally
proposed
to
us.
This
was
prior.
T
The
sports
folks
had
just
started
and
we
had
a
couple
of
those
little
outbreaks
that
mr
mosher
had
discussed
that
occurred
in
pre-season,
not
during
season,
and
since
then
we
have
not
seen
any
substantive
number
increases
that
would
cause
alarm
all
of
our
our
teams
did
so
well.
We
just
applauded
them
and
they
were
not
in
a
vax
or
test
situation
and
our
variant,
the
delta
variant,
was
on
the
rise,
and
that
is
a
condition
that
we
no
longer
have,
and
dr
kaliano
rama
does
come
and
visit
us
I've.
T
I've
requested
him
to
come
on
a
more
regular
basis,
because
I
think
that
information
I
agree
with
you
is
absolutely
helpful
and
he
is
welcome
to
share
with
us
when
he
has
updates.
He.
We
meets,
however,
very
regularly
with
our
superintendent,
and
I
know
that
they
are
in
constant
discussion
on
how
to
improve
and
change
the
protocols,
seeing
the
quarantine
conditions
changing,
and
otherwise
these
are
short-term
qualities,
policy
decisions
that
are
in
our
purview
and
we
do
our
best
to
work
together
as
a
team.
T
I'd
like
to
think
we're,
not
always
in
disagreement,
we're
not
always
in
agreement,
though.
Ultimately
the
family
connection
piece
for
me
was
recognizing
that
those
high
schoolers
have
younger
siblings,
and
that
was
one
of
the
arguments
that
dr
alato,
as
well
as
dr
kalianorama,
made
in
specific
in
specificity
to
sports,
and
the
family
connection
was
that
the
younger
siblings
did
not
have
the
opportunity
to
make
the
choice
of
the
vaccine,
and
now
that
choice
is
available
and
in
the
coming
weeks
they
just
got
through
tryouts
and
everything
as
they
roll
into
their
season.
T
T
This
was
a
planned
rollout
and
the
conditions
that
we
anticipated
for
this
are
like
that
now
having
gone
through
these
covered
moments
now
for
going
on
a
we're
going
to
be
what
over
a
year
and
a
half
now
a
year
and
nine
months
we've
encountered
this
before,
and
we
have
adapted
very
cautiously
and
practic
in
a
practical
way
and
I've
seen
it
benefit.
T
My
point
I
I
am
well
I'm
just
speaking
in
general
that
this
is
my
turn
to
speak,
but
I
appreciate
that
your
commentary,
but
I
would
like
to
finish
my
thoughts
here
so
for
me,
as
I
said,
the
family
connection
is
important,
and
now
we
have
this
vaccination,
I
I
just
gotta
say
the
sovereignty
of
the
body
of
a
person's
body
is
in
the
sanctity
of
making
a
decision
about
anything
internal
in
the
body.
I
will
always
support
that
choice.
T
I
I
do
not
believe
government
should
be
in
that
business,
and
this
is
one
of
multiple
layers
of
strategies.
Finally,
I'll
say
that
we
can
deploy.
It
is
not
a
standalone,
nor
is
it
a
make
or
break,
and
apparently
it
is
not
so
compelling
that
are
these
people
who
oversee
sports
have
not
directly
recommended
this
in.
If
you
recall
last
year
they
gave
us
a
whole
booklet,
I
mean
there
are
pages
about
every
single
sports
and
what
those
protocols
are
going
to
be.
T
T
V
I'm
good
I'm
good.
Y
Okay,
miss
frank.
D
Just
a
couple
comments,
so
winter
sports
hasn't
quite
started
yet
so
we
do
have
some
time
before
that
picks
up
where
children
in
the
5
to
11
age
group
could
get
vaccinated
before
winter
sports
starts,
and
then
this
was
not
a
board
decision.
This
was
a
superintendent
decision
and
there
was
a
motion
prior
similar
to
this,
but
it
didn't
have
board
support,
but
it
was
the
decision
to
vex
or
test
was
never
from
this
board.
D
L
D
So
a
large
portion
of
our
meeting
tonight
was
focused
on
our
supporting
our
our
teachers
and,
additionally,
several
of
the
comments
that
we've
we've
had
lately.
It
involved
the
parent
volunteers,
and,
to
that
end,
I
wrote
a
resolution
that
I
would
like
to
read.
C
Well,
I
appreciate
parts
of
the
spirit
of
this
resolution
for
for
reasons
I
outlined
earlier,
I'm
I
was
willing
to
get
rid
of
an
extra
pd
day
earlier
this
evening,
that
was
that
was
added
to
the
calendar,
but
I'm
I'm
not
willing
to
budge
in
any
way
on
our
equity
pd
two
hour
early
dismissal
days
at
all,
it's
so
central
to
what
we
do
to
who
this
we
are
as
a
school
system
to
our
mission,
to
our
strategic
plan
to
closing
opportunity,
gaps,
etc.
H
So
again,
I
I
go
back
to
the
2021
2022
calendar
and,
as
I
look
at
the
remaining
professional
developments
so
we're
in
the
month
of
november,
I
would
say,
the
majority
of
the
remaining
professional
developments
are
dedicated
to
project
unity
day
and
the
one
that
was
not
outlined
to
be
projected
today
may
3rd
is
one
that
we've
already
voted
to
further.
Take
a
look
at
so
I'm.
H
I
agreed
with
a
lot
of
the
resolution
until
we
got
to
the
removing
professional
developments
and
only
keeping
the
ones
that
are
absolutely
necessary,
because,
in
my
opinion,
it
seems
like
the
ones
that
are
absolutely
necessary
are
on
the
calendar
right
now
and
the
one
that
was
not
outlined
for
project
unity
today,
meaning
an
equity
pd
is
one
we've
already
resolved
to
work
on.
So
in
that
sense,
unless-
and
this
is
what
I
suspect,
our
opinions
and
what's
absolutely
essential
differ-
it
seems
kind
of
like
a
moot
point
right.
Y
Dr
alato,
is
there
any
other
pd
that
goes
on
in
our
schools
that
are
not
necessarily
even
system-wide,
but
besides
the
four
equity
days.
S
Yes,
ma'am,
so
let
me,
let's
put
this
current
year
aside,
to
answer
your
question
so
that
all
understand
that
yes,
there
is,
there
are
those
pd
days
that
are
built
into
the
calendar
because
they
because
they
impact
that
day
right,
it
becomes
an
early
release
day
or
a
day.
That's
closed.
S
The
school
schools
are
closed,
but
there
are
pds
in
a
typical
year
that
occur
throughout
the
year.
Throughout
the
weeks
that
engage
teachers,
it
could
be
a
professional
development
on
I'm
going
to
make
this
up
a
second
grade,
math
curriculum,
and
we
would
ask
the
second
grade.
Math
teachers
to
participate
in
that
curriculum
or
the
french
teachers
gather
and
have
some
professional
development,
reading
teachers
or
elementary
teachers
on
the
new
reading
program
or
assessments
for
kra.
S
So
there
are
professional
developments
that
can
occur
during
the
school
day
and
then
their
professional
developments
that,
during
a
faculty
meeting
or
a
meeting
of
the
faculty,
that
the
teacher
that
the
principal
puts
together
to
engage
teachers
in
their
particular
school
in
some
professional
development.
So
there
is
system
wide
and
then
there's
local
school.
Okay.
That
said,
we
began
this
year
very
purposefully
with
not
doing
professional
development
unless
it
was
required.
S
There
are
some
required
professional
developments
say
for
a
special
education
teacher,
around
certification
or
safety
as
an
example
that
they
are
required
to
go
through
this
training
every
year.
That's
not
something
we
could
eliminate,
but
we
went
into
the
school
year
very
purposely
with
our
focus
of
being
on
teaching
and
learning
in
the
classroom,
so
we've
not
been
conducting
any
professional
development
that
is
pulling
teachers
unnecessarily
out
of
their
classrooms,
where
they
want
to
provide
a
sub,
but
now
they're
not
in
their
classrooms
and
have
to
attend
professional
development.
S
So
there
is
very
little
professional
development
happening
in
the
schools
during
the
school
day.
Right
now,
and
that
was
purposeful.
There
is
some
occurring
in
the
evenings
and
after
school
and
those
are
voluntary
and
many
of
those
are
paid.
Unless
a
teacher
is
taking
advantage
of
an
after-school
book
club,
you
wouldn't
be
paid
for
that.
That's
something
that
they
volunteer
to
do,
and
they
want
to
learn
more
about
that
text
and
engage
with
colleagues
around
the
county
in
a
in
say
a
book
club.
I'm
using
that
as
an
example.
S
So
we
have
already
limited
a
great
deal
of
professional
development
this
year
because
we
want
we
want
everybody
to
remain
focused
on
what's
happening
inside
the
classrooms
and
in
the
schools.
Y
Okay,
so
you
thank
you
for
that.
Clarification
is
very
important.
I
I
have
to
say
at
out
of
the
many
emails
I've
received
directly
from
teachers.
I've
had
personal
messages
coming
to
me
through
social
media.
I've
had
phone
calls.
I
had.
Y
So
while
I
appreciate
and
I'm
glad
for
those
efforts
from
your
office,
dr
arlato,
to
to
provide
that
important
relief,
I
wonder
or
question
perhaps
the
perhaps
misunderstandings
miscommunications,
but
I'm
I'm
having
trouble
believing
that
there's
consistent
application
of
this
intentional
reduction
or
elimination
of
pd
in
that
way,
and
this
resolution.
Y
Y
T
So
I
need
to
apologize
to
my
colleagues.
I
thought
I
understood
this
and
then
I
did
have
to
step
away
for
a
personal
matter
in
the
back,
but
I
was
able
to
listen
to
at
least
some
of
what
was
discussed
and,
and
so
maybe
that's
my
confusion
was
understanding
one
of
our
previous
agenda
items.
I
guess
my
question
is
because
all
days
off
and
days
of
early
dismissals
and
the
like
are
have
to
be
codified
in
the
calendar.
T
I
guess
I
have
more
of
a
legal
technical
question.
Is
that
these
matters,
because
originally,
I
think
our
on
our
agenda.
This
item
was
happening
before
the
calendars.
So
maybe
that's
why
it
made
sense
to
me
and
now
I
I'm
a
little
confused
and
I
don't
mean
that
in
a
disrespectful
way,
but
I
guess
my
legal
question
is:
is
we
have
already
disposed
of
many
and
we
have
a
committee
that
is
reviewing
these
items.
T
So
does
the
resolution
interfere
with
any
board
action
that
may
have
been
taken
tonight
or
in
the
past,
albeit
vis-a-vis?
Our
calendar,
in
other
words,
is
the
resolution
going
to
override
any
calendar
decision
or
similar?
I
I
heard
of
something
of
a
committee
and-
and
I
gotta
say
I
wasn't
here
on
the
dice
at
the
time,
but
I
understand:
there's
a
committee
reviewing
certain
things
so
to
come
up
with
that.
T
T
I
believe
it
probably
would
be
better
suited
for
our
attorney
to
answer
that,
because
it's
kind
of
a
procedural
half
like
where
are
we
at
with
it,
because
this
motion
would
lead
to
calendar
recommendations.
I
go
to
presume
because
we
can't
just
simply
remove
things
from
the
calendar,
so
I
just
want
some
clarification
because
I,
as
I
said
I
had,
I
would
have
none
of
these
questions
if
it
were
prior
to
those
conversations
and-
and
I
wasn't
part
of
all
of
them,.
Z
For
the
record
darren
burns
court
attorney,
may
I
ask
that
ms
frank's
there's
a
long
motion.
I
asked.
Z
T
Z
I
would
suggest
that
the
latter
part,
if
it
were
to
be
adopted,
would
in
essence,
influence
perhaps
or
set
some
parameters
by
which
the
committee
that
was
approved
or
the
work
study
the
study
work
group.
I
guess
it
was.
I
forget
what
the
phrase
was
whatever
it
would
do.
This
would
certainly
restrict
some
of
what
dr
alato
could
recommend
to
that
group.
What
he
could
perhaps
implement
from
the
recommendations
yeah,
it
would
have
an
impact.
Yes
would
it
would
it
prevent
you
from
if
you
adopt
this,
prevent
you
or
somehow
interfere
with
the
work
group?
Z
No,
I
just
think
it
would
restrict
or
likely
impact
the
final
outcome,
because
you
just
think
of
it.
This
way
that
language
would
say
to
your
superintendent
that
this
is
your
charge.
Under
this
resolution,
the
work
group
could
come
back
with
recommendations
and
dr
alata
would
feel
duty
bound
to
say
those
sound
great,
but
I
can't
do
some
of
them
or
I
can't
make
that
work
because-
and
I
think
the
last
part
mention
state
requirements.
Z
If
you
add
that
to
the
mix,
perhaps
it
would
be
that
neither
of
them
are
conflicting,
but
now
there's
one
more
element
you've
got
to
deal
with,
and
that
sum
total
means
that
whatever
the
work
group
came
up
with,
not
all
of
it
could
be
implemented,
but
the
original
question
was:
would
it
prevent
you?
No,
I
think
the
work
group
could
come
in
existence
and
I
think
this
would
be
another
layer
of
challenge
and
and
issues
that
superintendent
staff
and
you
would
have
to
deal
with.
T
T
I
wouldn't
want
to
limit
those
opportunities
to
do
like
a
four-level
swap
that
may
have
to
occur,
but
I
I'm
supportive
of
the
resolution
and
I'm
even
supportive
of
the
statement.
I
am
concerned
about
the
limitation
and
I
would
like
to
consider
an
amendment
to
simply
strike
that
very
last
part
with
a
personal
commitment,
of
course,
to
to
the
motion
maker
that
I'm
happy
to
support
it.
T
C
T
And
as
soon
as
I
pull
it
up,
I
can
give
that
in
specificity,.
T
No,
no,
as
I
said,
give
me
one
second,
because
I
don't
have
it
up,
and
I
know
you
sent
it
to
us.
Okay,.
Y
Z
Z
Y
Y
Y
Z
Z
That,
in
fact,
whether
you're
talking
about
days
or
other
forms
of
professional
development,
the
question
asked
was:
does
the
resolution
potentially
impact
the
work
of
the
work
group
and
I
hope
I'm
using
the
right
term
as
silkworth,
and
my
answer
remains
because
the
way
it's
phrased
it
includes
professional
development.
It
could
include
days
they're
all
on
the
table
according
to
the
work
group
language.
So
my
answer
remains
the
same.
It
could
impact
that
work
group
and
dr
arlatta's
efforts
to
implement
their
recommendations.
Okay,.
Z
That's
but
my
advice
is
the
question
that
was
asked
to
me
is:
could
it
impact
the
work
groups,
outcomes
and
if
the
work
I'll
give
an
example,
if
the
work
group's
outcomes
were
recommendations
in
the
second
semester
of
some
sort
of
day
issue,
then
that
resolution
could
only
impact
that
discussion
when
it
comes
back
to
the
board,
because
you
can
still
change
your
calendar
and
I
do
not
believe
mr
silkworth's,
the
past
motion
was
separate
from
days
and
calendars.
I
think
the
work
group
is
going
to
take
that
up
from
what
I
heard.
C
Point
of
order
point
of
order.
Yes,
there
was
an
amendment
offered
and
it
was
it
was
and
it
was
seconded
correct
and
then
we
we
kind
of
glossed
over
that
and
went.
T
T
I
think
the
legal
question
wasn't
until
I
pulled
it
up,
which
would
be
fine,
so
in
the
last
section
where
it
says
and
be
it
further
resolved
that
the
board
supports
every
effort
that
the
superintendent
to
reduce
the
amount
and
frequency
of
professional
development,
trainings
and
meetings
period,
I'm
striking
everything
after
trainings
and
meetings,
because,
as
the
superintendent
already
reported,
he
was
making
every
effort
to
reduce
that
this
year.
So
I
don't
think
that
conflicts
with
the
committee
work
that
I
had
heard,
because
I
wasn't
hearing
the
interaction.
T
I
was
just
hearing
the
final
motion
and
the
final
motion.
My
that's
why
I
asked
mr
burns
because
that's
what
I
was
hearing
too,
that
we
were
going
in
to
help
alleviate
the
workload
and
included
that
all
the
professional
development
and
meetings
were
on
the
table
for
that.
So,
thank
you
for
the
clarification
so
to
be
clear.
T
My
amendment
is
to
strike
from
the
word
to
to
the
period
on
the
very
last
statement,
so
it
would
read
and
be
it
further
resolved
that
the
board
supports
every
effort
of
the
superintendent
to
reduce
the
amount
and
frequency
of
professional
development,
training
and
meetings
period,
because
I
think
it
captures
what
is
already
occurring
and
what
we
want
to
occur
without
the
absolutely
essential
pieces
which
could,
which
is
what
I'm
hearing
could
possibly
create
the
limitation
and
miss.
How
did
you
get
my
edit?
Y
T
Y
T
D
Amendment
won
the
amendment
I
would
just
I
intentionally
put
in
there
that
this
was
meant
for
the
remainder
of
this
year,
so
I
would
just
caution
taking
that
piece
out.
M
D
Yeah
so
that
that
was
my
only
piece
on
this
amendment,
but
then
I
do
have
some
comments
to
the
main.
I'm
happy
with.
T
I'm
okay
with
the
technical
with
the
technical
edit
for
clarification
purposes,.
T
Add,
okay,
so
the
new,
if
everybody's
in
agreement-
because
I
don't
want
to
be
presuming
if
we're
all
in
agreement,
the
new
language
would
read
and
be
it
further
resolved
that
the
board
supports
every
effort
of
the
superintendent
to
reduce
the
amount
of
frequency
of
professional
development,
trainings
and
meetings
for
the
remainder
of
the
2021-2022
school
year.
Y
Y
All
right,
we
are
back
to
the
the
motion
for
the
resolution,
miss
frank.
You
have
something
else.
D
Yes,
so
in
in
conversation
with
the
superintendent
it
it
does
seem
like
he
is
working
towards
this
goal.
This
was
meant
to
be
something
to
make
sure
that
everybody
was
on
the
same
page.
This
is
not
meant
to
be
nearly
this
divisive
and
also
you
know
we.
We
did
understand
that
we
were
going
to
be
talking
calendar
tonight
and
that
I
I
had
hoped
that
this
was
actually
going
to
go
before.
D
But
there
were
some
amendments,
so
this
this
really
was
meant
to
to
try
to
make
sure
that
we're
letting
our
folks
know
that
we're
getting
back
to
normal,
our
parent
volunteers
are,
are
going
to
be
coming
back
to
the
schools
and
in
the
capacity
that
they're,
able
and
and
the
superintendent
is
supportive
of
trying
to
reduce
the
workload
one
and
where
he
can
and
we're
all
on
that
same
page.
So
that
was
really
the
intent
of
this
mission.
L
F
Y
U
Authority
is
important
to
me
and
there
is
nothing
in
his
proclamation
that
doesn't
that
mr
giorgio
lotto
does
not
have
already
and
if
he
puts
something
out
and
the
board
overturns
it.
In
my
opinion,
when
we
make
the
comments
that
we're
making
it,
it
weakens
us
as
a
board,
and
so
if
dr
alato
is
given
autonomy
to
be
able
to
do
the
same
things
that
he's
been
doing
that
same
recommendation
that
he
made.
U
U
He
brings
it
to
the
board
the
board
talks,
it
turns
it
and
we
keep
going
back
and
forth
and
back
and
forth.
So
I'm
I'm
just
really
not
understanding
the
purpose
of
several
things
that
have
happened
here
tonight
and
I
would
ask
all
of
us
to
take
some
time
out
to
just
look
at
the
things
that
are
there
and
not
let
this
become
so
politically
charged
that
we
are
not
representing
students,
teachers
and
parents,
but
we're
really
representing
our
own
personal
agendas.
Y
Thank
you
miss
den.
I
I
can
tell
you
for
my
vote.
I
I
I
supported
it
because
I
stated
earlier
that
we're
hearing
that
it's
not
being
carried
out
as
what
maybe
is
intended.
So
it's
it's
indicating
that
this
board
supports
those
efforts.
President.
T
V
U
Y
Y
Okay,
yeah,
I
think
I
think
it's
a
good
time
to
adjourn
and
we
can
all
reflect
until
next
time.
So
yes,
our
next
general
board
meeting,
will
be
wednesday
december
4th
at
12
p.m,
and
the
board's
calendar
is
is
on
the
aacps
website.
Thank
you.
Do
I
have
a
motion.
