is
my

as

around
the

wore
purple
and
orange,
but,
more
importantly,
remembered
and
celebrated
Mozilla
Kingsley

on
what
would
have
been
his
17th

We
are
thankful
for
Moe's

and
proud
to
have
been
a
part
of

I'd

If
you're
here,
you
can
wait,
these
individuals
had
a
difficult
task,
as
you
can
imagine,
but
I
believe
that
I
can
speak
for
all
of
them
when
I
say
that
it
is
truly
an
honor
to
be
trusted
with
such
a
precious
project.
D
We
received
more
than
40
impressive

and
there
is
no
doubt
that
there
are
many
many
more
students
who
deserve
to

all
of
the

Please
know
that

Next
is
the
winner
in
the
elementary
intermediate
category:
Maisie
Barber,
Windsor,

Elementary
School,
many
in
her
school
Community
would
agree
that
Maisie
is
a
bright
light.
As
a
student
ambassador
at
her
school,
she
greets
students
in
the
morning
initiates
conversations
and
starts
their
day
with
that
amazing
smile
because
of
our
enthusiastic
approach
to
every
new
day.
You
would
never
know
the
numerous
medical
challenges
she
has
overcome,
or
maybe
you
would
understand
why
she
values
each
day
so
much
well,
Maisie,
we
value
you.
Your
determination
and
empathy
are
an
example
to
us
all.
Congratulations
Maisie,.

Kate
shows
that
she
is
much
more
than
her
circumstances.
She
holds
herself
to
high
expectations
and
by
doing
so
performs
at
an
exceptional
level
in
our

whether
attending
in

Okay,
your

is
admirable
and

Ming's
story
of
Triumph,
despite
debilitating
Beginnings,
including
painful
health
conditions
and
abandonment,
is
heartbreaking.
Yet
he
lives
by
a
simple
Mantra
from
which
we
should
all
take
note.
Just
put
one
foot
in
front
of
the
other
at
a
young
age.
Ming
overcame
many
challenges
by
doing
just
that,
with
the
Limitless
intellect
and
uncompromising
resilience
making
sure
to
step
into
an
amazing
future.
Congratulations
me.
D
And
now
for
the

B
B
F
Everything,
you
said
is
extremely
on
point:
the
walking
meetings.
If
you
have
a
chance
to
visit
us
at
Monarch,
Academy
Annapolis,
you
know
that
we
have
a
big
parking
lot.
So
that
is
where
we
do
our
Wellness
Wednesdays.
So
please
come
in
and
take
a
walk
with
us
and
we
can
talk
and
and
he'll
be
there
to
walk
with
you.
He
is
extremely
extremely
positive.
All
the
times
which
helps
set
our
culture
every
day
so
well.
B
G
You
Dr
Tobin,
when
the
staff
of
Severna
Park
High

were
asked
to
give
specific
feedback
to
deserve
why
she
deserved
this
award.
The
accolades
came
pouring
in

she's

it
might
not
be
a

for
her

she
knows
that
anything
that

it

is
simply
fantastic
at
her

but,
more
importantly,
she
knows
pure

in

out
all

G
It
is
never
a

for
Miss

to

someone,
and
she
always
responds
with
my

Miss

Miss.
Now
you
are
simply
the
best.
It
was
difficult
to
pick
just
one
specific
example
of
your
awesomeness.
So
for
these
reasons,
and
many
more,
the

what

This

can
answer
that
question
every
day
through
what
she
does
for

and
the

Miss

principal

describes
Miss

as
the
epitome
of
an
outstanding
volunteer.
C
Reynolds
has
recruited
and
coordinated
volunteers,
including
myself,
so
that
they
too
can
answer
the
question.
What
are
you
doing
for
others?
These
volunteers
include
not
only
parents
but
also
current
and
former
students
by
volunteering,
with
Miss
Reynolds
at
the
PTA
school
store.
Students

life
skills
such
as
customer

marketing
cash

continuing
to

along
with
the
tangible

that
we
can

Her

expands
to

M
Nearly
six
months
ago,
I
was
welcoming
Dr
Bedell
to
Anne
Arundel
County
and
asked
for
us
to,
as
I
quote
my
favorite
TV
show
from
college
Gray's
Anatomy
to
become
each
other's
person.
If
you
haven't
watched,
Gray's,
Anatomy
highly
recommend
and
how,
while
things
are
challenging
our
boat,
which
happens
to
be
my
very
favorite
metaphor,
our
boat
is
still
floating
along.
M
M
M
They
both
like
having
the
opportunity
to
feed
the
cats
and,
most
days
it's
great
and
the
two
girls
feed
the
cats.
It's
easy,
no
problem
and
some
days
it's
much
harder.
We
have
one
girl
cat
and
she
refuses
to
come
eat.
She
needs
extra
love.
She
needs
bribery
to
come
downstairs
to
eat
her
dinner
and
my
two
girls.
They
have
a
harder
time
getting
along
to
finish
their
goal,
which
is
to
feed
the
cats
and
just
like
that.
Our
working
together
has
not
always
been
easy,
but
it
is
important.
Just
like
feeding
the
cats.
M
So
as
our
boat,
which
I
think,
which
thankfully
continues
to
float
and
as
time
moves
on,
and
we
work
together
to
confront
the
challenges
that
exist
in
Anne
Arundel
County,
we
will
be
better
together.
Thank
you
and
I
look
forward
to
continuing
to
work
together
to
be
each
other's
person.
Thank
you
again,
foreign.

An
achievement
is
improved
when
the
implementation
of
education
is
tailored
with
the
proper

to
meet
the

of

that
is
equity
and
as

I
believe
strongly
in
the

of

when
he
stated
that

only
thing

expensive
than
education
is
ignorance,
end

we
all
pay
a
hefty
price
economically,
socially
and
psychologically,
when
education
in
the
implementation
of
it
is
devoid
of
equity,
inclusion
and
diversity,
and
even
more
timely.
With
the
recent
recognition
of
the
celebration
of
Dr
King
himself,
he
stated
that
quote.
N
The

what
we've
recently
heard,
families
can
be
fully
apprised
of
what
we
are
focused
on
at
school
and
the
fact
that
we
are
seeking
their
engagement.
B
The
community's
engagement
to
help
us
keep
our
students
safe
in
school
I
also
want
to
extend
our
thanks
to
County
Executive
Pittman,
mayor
Gavin,
Buckley
and
Colonel
Sapp
of
the
Fort
Meade
Garrison
for
attending
and
for
their
support
as
well.
I
was
privileged
along
with
Ms
Dent,
to
attend
the
first
blueprint
implementation
workshop
last
night
at
Arundel,
I
believe
there's
another
one
tonight.
B
B
Finally,
I
would
like
to
alert
the
public
again.
I
know
this
has
been
announced
publicly,
but
at
the
board's
workshop
on
February
13th,
we
will
have
a
session
after
the
workshop
beginning
at
7
pm
in
this
boardroom
on
February
13th,
a
town
hall
at
which
time
anyone
who
has
anything
they
would
like
to
testify
before
the
board
on,
can
come
and
do
so.
The
usual
rules
apply
with
regard
to
time
limits
Etc
it's
possible
to
sign
up
online
as
usual.
B
Those
details
are
all
available
on
our
website,
but
I
encourage
the
public
please
to
come
out.
This
is
an
opportunity
to
let
us
know
what
you
think.
We
need
to
know
on
any
subject.
That
is
of
concern
to
you,
and
so
that
concludes
my
report
today.
Thank
you
and
again,
I
just
want
to
make
one
final.
Thank
you
to
the
staff.
I
know:
Dr
Bedell,
you
completed
your
learning
and
listening
tours.
We've
obviously
had
the
additional
session
at
Severna
Park
High
School.
Now
we
have
the
blueprint
workshops.
B
This
has
been
a
huge
lift
for
our
staff.
People
have
been
working
around
the
clock,
I
I
know
we've
put
out
the
results
of
of
much
of
these
learning.
Listening
and
learning
tours
there,
as
everyone
can
imagine,
a
huge
amount
of
work
went
into
recording
that
to
putting
the
data
together
to
being
there
every
night
after
the
work
day
was
over.
I
just
want
to
extend
my
thanks
and
I
believe
the
thanks
of
the
board
to
the
staff
for
taking
on
this
huge
task
and
to
say
it
is
much
appreciated.
B
Okay,
so
that
moves
us
to
item
4.0
for
the
policy
committee
report.
Ms
Dent
had
to
step
away
briefly
so
I'm
going
to
move
to
item
4.05.
The
equity
committee
report,
Mr
McGrath.
G
Thank
you.
The
equity
committee
met
on
January
30th
to
discuss
steps
moving
forward
after
the
event
hosted
at
Severna,
Park,
High
School,
and
how
we
can
ensure
that
the
community
conversation
evolves
into
long-term
plans
to
improve
equity
in
Anne
Arundel
County.
The
primary
primary
topic
of
conversation
was
starting
a
new
program
to
recognize
students
who
do
work
in
their
schools
to
improve
Equity.
G
The
original
idea
came
from
Miss
Coronado,
so
I
just
want
to
recognize
that
aspect
of
it
and
we
all
discussed
it
and
we're
very
excited
to
see
how
it
shifts
and
changes
and
just
find
ways
to
encourage
students
to
make
their
schools
better
place,
and
it
was
just
a
great
conversation.
Our
next
meeting
is
on
February,
28th
and
I
look
forward
to
getting
back
to
work.
Thank
you.
O
All
right,
thank
you,
madam
president.
I
wanted
to
just
start
off
by
saying
today.
This
was
just
a
wonderful
experience
for
me:
the
students
receiving
that
award
and
really
trying
to
keep
the
legacy
of
our
student,
who
passed
away,
I
think
he
was
14
and
so
to
be
able
to
do
that.
O
I
told
the
mother
that
this
this
was
a
moving
event
for
me
and
then
to
think
about
the
work
that
some
of
our
students
are
doing
and
I
just
hope
that
there
are
opportunities
for
us
to
continue
to
push
more
of
us
becoming
a
a
lovable
or
a
loving
and
in
kindness,
a
more
tolerant
organization
and
I.
Think
it
really
does.
Are
those
kids
give
us
a
prime
example
of
what
could
be,
despite
limitations,
that
they
have
that
are
beyond
the
control
of
them
and
I?
O
Just
think
that
we
just
have
a
massive,
a
huge
opportunity
here
to
seize
this
moment
of
where
we
are
right
now
as
a
school
district.
So
when
we
talk
about
the
incidents
that
have
occurred
in
in
several
of
our
schools,
you
know
how
do
we
move
forward
and
how
do
we
make
sure
that
we
don't
have
repeat
events
that
that
kind
of
paint,
a
negative
picture
on
us
and
and
I
tell
people
this
in
the
at
the
end
of
the
day?
O
Right
we
can,
we
can
fix
and
we
can
address
these
things
right
and
a
lot
of
these
things
are
systemic
and
and
I'll
say
this
publicly
right.
This
isn't
about
pointing
out
a
single
race
or
pointing
out
single
individuals
right,
because
we
this
isn't,
we
have
to
address
the
system
as
a
whole
when
you
think
about
how
race
plays
out
when
you
think
about
how
discriminatory
acts
play
out.
O
So
I
I
think
it's
important
that
this
community
understands
that,
under
my
leadership
like
we
are
going
to
talk
about
Equity
we're
going
to
talk
about
inclusion,
we're
going
to
talk
about
race,
we're
going
to
talk
about
how
we
address
the
system
and
for
me
I,
didn't,
say
inclusion,
because
I'm
already
here,
I
don't
need
to
be
included
in
nothing
at
the
end
of
the
day,
I
want
to
be
accepted,
for
who
I
am
and
how
I
show
up.
I
want
to
have
access
and
I
want
to
have
a
sense
of
belonging.
O
O
How
do
we
Embrace
that
so
that
we
really
do
make
Anne
Arundel
County,
one
of
the
most
wonderful
places
that
people
can
live
in
and
that
our
educational
experiences
and
our
educational
outcomes
truly
make
us
a
leader
not
only
in
this
state
but
nationally?
And
so
that
has
been
my
commitment
from
day
one.
That
remains
to
be
my
commitment.
O
So
I
just
want
to
reiterate
that,
like
we're
not
here
to
isolate
anybody,
we're
not
here
to
put
one
group
against
another
we're
here
to
work
in
the
middle,
to
figure
out
how
we
can
agree
on
things
and
then
begin
to
work
on
our
differences
over
time
and
that's
my
commitment
to
this
community.
That's
my
commitment
to
this
school
board
and
I
just
wanted
to
make
sure
that
I
made
mentioned
that
next
slide.
O
O
If
we
want
to
go
from
being
a
good
system
to
a
great
system,
and
even
as
I
talked
to
the
board
about
this
initiative,
we
have
to
put
the
ugly
out
people
have
to
know
when
you
are
struggling
and
where
you
are
struggling.
So
they
can
lean
in
and
I
think.
This
is
an
opportunity
for
us
to
to
open
up
our
arms
to
the
community.
Our
goal.
At
this
point
we
have
a
contact,
person
and
I.
O
Don't
think
it's
appropriate
for
me
to
say
the
name
right
now
until
we
iron
out
a
few
more
things,
but
we
have
a
contact
person
inside
of
the
district.
We're
going
to
have
a
launch
a
an
email
address,
I
think
it's
going
to
be
called
be
present
at
aacps.org
that
will
be
coming
out
in
the
near
future.
We
already
have
people
who
have
volunteered
not
only
to
just
be
a
part
of
this,
but
to
help
us
organize
it,
so
we
can
handle
the
bandwidth.
O
That's
coming
our
way,
so
there's
a
lot
of
interest
in
people
in
this
community
saying.
Yes,
we
want
to.
We
want
to
wrap
our
arms
around
our
schools.
We
do
not
want
to
be
the
next
School
District
on
national
news
because
of
a
a
shooting
that
has
occurred
on
our
campus
and
we
want
our
kids
to
go
to
school
and
a
barrier-free
environment.
They
shouldn't
be
bullied.
They
shouldn't
be
scared.
O
As
we've
stated,
we
now
have
available
online
all
of
the
information
that
we've
gotten
from
the
16
listening
and
learning
tours
that
is
available
for
anybody
to
go
in
and
read
and
just
kind
of
hear
what
people
think
about
our
system.
Additionally,
we
are
still
allowing
for
people
to
contribute
additional
input.
We
are
working
on
our
post
entry
plan
and
that
post-entry
plan
will
will
come
out
in
the
near
future.
O
That
will
highlight
everything
that
you
saw
in
those
first
five
goals,
what's
been
learned,
it'll
be
a
nice
polished
document
that
clearly
allows
for
people
to
understand
the
direction
that
we're
heading
in
as
a
county
and
then,
as
I've
said
before,
from
that
post-entry
plan,
we
will
begin
our
strategic
planning
process.
The
goal
is
to
start
that
in
May.
O
So
as
we
think
about
these
five
goals,
we'll
probably
begin
to
remove
this
from
our
slide
deck,
because
I
think
we've
I
mean
people
should
know
what
the
five
goals
have
been
at
this
point.
So
so
we'll
probably
remove
it
and
we'll
start
focusing
on
strategic
planning
and
things
of
that
nature.
Moving
forward
next
slide.
Here's
our
transportation
update
as
you
can
see,
48
bus
bus
driver
vacancies.
It's
kind
of
been
static
in
that
range
here
over
the
last
board
meeting
or
two.
We
have
55
potential
drivers
in
training.
O
We
are
still
relieving
overcrowding
working
on
building
our
bench
for
contractors
in
our
bench,
for
our
in-house
Transportation,
so
wanted
to
update
you
all
on
that
and
then
finally,
just
a
quick
update
on
redistricting,
it's
important
because
we're
getting
ready
to
launch
our
instrument
to
get
input
from
the
community.
I
have
said
all
along
that
our
out
the
options
that
are
available
and
the
options
that
I
would
support
is
a
two-phase
redistricting
process.
O
So
many
people
have
seen
this
already,
where
we
look
at
the
northern
redistricting
and
then
the
southern
being
a
part
of
phase.
Two
here
is
our
timeline.
The
public
release
of
the
web
2
will
take
place.
February,
8th,
I
believe
and
I
just
have
to
commend
our
I.T
Department
Matt
stansky
and
the
operations
team.
When
you
all
go
in
and
look
at
this
web
tool,
it
is
it
is,
it
is
a
beautiful,
beautiful
instrument
that
will
make
it
will
easily
allow
for
people
with
the
click
of
a
button
to
understand.
O
Potentially
what
redistricting
could
look
like,
based
on
the
options
that
have
been
presented
right
and
so
I
think
it
allowed
for
people
to
give
feedback.
Give
real
time
feedback
and
help
shape
the
decisions
we
make
and
then
that
will
go
through
May
31st
as
you
can
see,
and
then,
as
we
continue
to
move
on
the
then
the
second
phase
of
this
would
talk,
would
begin
for
implementation
of
August
26
will
begin
in
2025
February.
The
public
release,
release
2
will
come
out
and
then
the
same
process
works
through.
O
P
Thank
you,
Dr
Bedell
I
was
struck
by
you,
leading
with
the
positivity
of
the
mogaba
awards
and
I
just
had
to
say
a
few
words
about
this,
and
this
really
is
personally
to
you.
P
So
the
mogabo
award
began
with
our
colleague
Candice
antwine,
who
was
very
passionate
about
recognizing
This,
truly
passionate
student
of
ours.
This
was
this
began
before
his
passing
before
any
of
us
knew
we
were
going
to
lose
MO
and
sorry.
P
She
felt
very,
very
strongly
about
recognizing
such
positivity
and
so
I
was
struck.
In
that
moment.
Hearing
you
talk
about
it
and
I
wanted
to
let
you
know.
I
I
have
every
confidence
that
Miss
Antoine
would
be
extremely
proud
to
be
sitting
here
with
you
today.
She
would
be
so
proud
of
this
board
for
bringing
you
here
and
so
I
I
just
had
to
share
that
with
you.
P
She
was
a
special
person
and
I
I
know
I'm
going
back
through
the
search
process
in
my
head
and
she
would
have
been
very
enthusiastic
about
you.
So
thank
you.
Thank.
J
Q
Q
It
feels
a
little
more
Awkward
than
I
thought
it
would
have
so
I
I'll,
just
I'd
like
to
Echo
what
Marcella
says
and
I
could
not
have
said
it
more
eloquently.
So
thank
you
miss
her,
so
I'm
looking.
Thank
you
guys.
So
very
much
and
yes,
I
know
what
I
t
had
to
move
to
get
to.
Even
the
thought
of
what
this
is.
Q
I
am
excited
to
see
it
and
know
that
that
is
an
Enterprise
level
project
and
to
pull
it
together,
like
that
in
such
a
way
and
To
Boldly
release
it.
I
am
I
I'm,
proud
to
be
part
of
the
team.
Q
So
when
once
we
are
done
with
northern
and
southern,
we
had
the
facility,
we
had
the
MGT
study
right.
That's
now
getting
kind
of
dated
we're
in
that
end
of
its
10-year
life
cycle.
Q
Are
we
going
to
require
an
does?
The
state
require
an
MGT
study,
in
other
words
like
it
seems
like
we're
going
to
have
a
lot
of
a
lot
that
we
sought
independently
now
at
our
fingertips
and
will
be
better
positioned
to
do
our
strategic
planning
because
that's
separate
than
our
master
plan
and
stuff.
That's
what
leads
to
it.
So
I
was
just
curious.
How
that'll
look
in
the
out
years
ahead.
Looking
ahead.
I
Rushing
around
the
mandatory
mandate.
There
is
not
from
the
state
to
do
a
a
sort
of
a
comprehensive
look,
but
I
do
think.
As
you
pointed
out,
the
MGT
study
is
closing
in
on
10
years
old
and
would
be
warranted,
but
I
do
think
it
would
be
prudent
to
probably
complete
the
redistricting
process
before,
starting
that
study
or
study,
maybe
starting
it
during
the
second
half
of
the
Southern
of
the
part
phase
two
of
the
redistrict
thing,
but
we
do
need
an
updated
facility
condition
index
I
think
there
are
probably
some
additional
metrics.
I
We
might
want
to
look
at
moving
forward,
given
what
the
blueprint
is
requiring
given
what
our
strategic
plan,
whatever
our
strategic
plan,
is,
and
how
we
need
to
look
at
the
use
of
facilities
differently
than
how
we,
how
we
do
now
and
how
we
did
back
in
2016
when
the
original
MGT
study
was
conducted.
Q
Okay,
yeah
because
I
know
that
was
a
tool
that
was
you
utilized,
particularly
with
the
state
state
funding
of
our
Capital
Improvements
program
and
the
like
and
I
know
that
that's
going
to
have
to
kind
of
sit
there.
A
little
dated
for
a
while.
So
I
just
wanted
to
make
sure
I
understood
the
that
we're
I'm
on
the
same
page
I.
Think
you
guys.
I
Are
and
I
do
think
it's
important
to
note.
The
state
has
now
their
own
facility
conditioning
index
that
they
use
Statewide
to
compare
cross
District
district.
That
is
strictly
just
condition
age
of
the
facility,
whereas
the
MTT
study,
at
least
in
my
view,
we'll
need
to
go
a
little
bit
deeper
into
how
we
use
facilities
where
they're,
located
Equity
I
think
should
play
a
factor
in
whatever
metrics.
I
We
determine
that
study
needs
to
consider
when,
when
moving
forward
and
when
determining
how
to
what
gets
revitalized,
what
needs
to
be
built
new
and
where
our
County
demographics
are
moving
over
the
next
decade.
So.
O
Let
me
just
chime
in
and
kind
of
add
on
to
what
you're
saying,
because
the
MGT
study
you're
absolutely
right.
It
will
will
help
us.
You
know,
understand
how
we
need
to
address
any
deferred.
You
know
Capital
maintenance
or
Capital
project
maintenance,
but
I
I
would
say
this
too,
like
to
do
an
audit
like
that
which
is
very
extensive
to
me.
O
It
would
be
important
that
we,
we
have
a
strategic
Direction,
that
we
kind
of
have
some
idea
of
what
our
instructional
framework
is,
because
what
you
you
know
you
don't
want
it
to
just
be
about
facilities,
I,
think
the
facilities
and
any
assessment
that
we
do
or
facilities
should
respond
to
the
academic
vision
and
the
building
should
be
shaped
around
this
futuristic
Vision
that
we
want
to
have.
When
we
talk
about
how
we
want
to
innovate,
our
schools,
what
does
potential
School
space
look
like?
How
do
we
pivot?
O
But
if
we
don't
have
you
know
our
our
strategic
direction?
We
don't
have
what
our
instructional
framework
will
be.
People
don't
understand
all
of
that,
then
it
just
becomes
about
facility
and
not
a
bigger
picture
of
how
to
facilities,
support
teaching
and
learning,
which
is
our
primary
focus
that
we
should
be
having
in
any
decision
that
we
make.
Q
I'll
just
say,
I'm
very
excited,
because
this
is
the
way
it
should
should
work.
The
last
time
we
the
last
I
mean
this
happens,
a
lot,
it's
the
nature
of
the
business,
but
you
know
by
the
time
you
get
to
it.
I
I
was
hearing
testimony
last
night
and
it's
great,
but
it
was
based
on
testimony
of
a
over
20.
Q
What
our
scenario
is
and
then
by
then
we'll,
hopefully
have
more
information
from
aib
and
the
state
as
to
how
much
and
to
what
extent,
we're
going
to
need
to
prepare
for
pre-k
from
a
facilities
perspective
and
some
of
our
career
in
college
which
ready
stuff.
So
thank
you
very
much
for
clarifying
that
no
further
questions.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
B
Miss
corkito
Dr
Bedell
I
had
an
additional
question.
I
wanted
to
ask
you
regarding
the
redistricting
portion
of
your
report
so,
and
I
also
want
to
remind
the
public
as
we
go
through
this.
B
What
is,
is
my
you
know,
what's
being
put
up
on
the
web
with
this
tool
that
I'm
very
excited
to
see
based
on
what
I'm
hearing
are
two
possible
scenarios
that
have
been
discussed
with
the
board,
based,
presumably
on
an
initial
look
but
I
think
it's
important
as
we
move
forward
because,
again
to
remind
the
public
of
the
timeline
you've
been
showing
us,
your
recommendation
will
not
be
coming
to
us
until
July,
correct
and
the
proposed
time
for
a
board
vote
is
November
right.
B
So
everything
that's
up
right
now
is,
as
I
said,
possible
scenarios
I
think
it's
important
for
us
as
a
board
and
for
the
public
that
we
be
able
to
assess
these
scenarios
in
the
context
of
the
data
and
information
on
the
full
County
and
the
reason
for
that
is
I
think
we're
going
to
be
examining
at
least
I
will
and
I
suspect
from
comments
by
previous
previous
comments
by
members.
You
know
just
exactly
where
those
lines
are
right.
B
What
makes
sense,
and
so
I
would
like
to
request
from
you
and
your
staff
when
available,
to
add
that
data
of
the
full
County
to
the
information
that's
available
to
us
and
the
public.
O
Yes,
Madam
president
I
think
that
that
shouldn't
be
no
problem.
It
will
probably
take
a
couple
of
months
to
get
the
information
and
and,
as
I've
said
from
day
one,
we
really
want
to
be
as
transparent
as
we
could
possibly
be
being
able
to
provide
data.
So
people
can
understand
the
pressure
points
maybe
generate
some
context
around
why
the
the
current
options
that
have
been
presented
have
been
presented
and
I
know
that
this
will
probably
have
some
people
thinking
well.
O
Are
you
all
going
to
move
forward
and
do
the
whole
district
and
I've
been
very
clear
like
as
far
as
my
recommendation
as
a
superintendent,
the
amount
of
stress
that
I
think
it
puts
on
the
system
really
concerns
me
like.
We
have
to
look
at
doing
this
in
a
phase
process
right
and
I
just
want
to
make
sure
I
reiterate
that
so
people
don't
think
that
I'm
backpedaling
on
what
we
presented
a
couple
of
months
ago.
O
However,
when
we're
putting
this
information
out,
I
think
the
data
will
also
help
shape
how
we
make
the
decisions
in
terms
of
what
the
recommendations
will
be
presented
to
the
board
and
then
eventually
the
board,
making
their
final
vote.
O
And
then
it
won't
be
any
surprises,
in
my
opinion,
when
it's
time
to
do
phase
two.
So
we
will
work
to
get
that
information
to
you
all
and
I
think
we
said
a
couple
of
months
if.
I
B
You
I
really
appreciate
that
Dr,
Bedell
and
Mr
stansky
and
I
appreciate
the
incredible
work
of
the
staff
on
this
I
know.
This
is
a
heavy,
lift
and
I
think
this.
This
will
continue
the
move
that
has
been
going
forward
towards
the
greatest
possible
transparency
for
everyone
involved.
P
Be
no
surprise
on
this
topic,
but
I
just
want
to
sort
of
well.
First
reiterate:
the
Gratitude
I
I,
know
I,
know.
P
Going
to
be
a
big
big
undertaking,
no
matter
who
moves
where
or
when
it's
going
to
be,
it's
it's
going
to
be
a
lot,
but
I
greatly
appreciate
your
request.
P
Dr
Tobin
and
I
do
think
it
is
very
important
that
the
public
understands
and
that
we
continue
to
put
out
that
this
is
an
evolving
process
and
if
we
were
to
go
back
to
the
slide
that
showed
the
North
and
the
South
that
that's
just
that
that's
just
sort
of
an
envisioning
where
we
are
right
now
and
where
this
looks
to
be
going.
But
once
we
have
all
that
data,
some
of
those
lines
could
change
right.
It
might
not
necessarily
be
in
the
district's
best
interest
to
do
a
simply
North
and
South.
P
We
don't
know
what
the
data
is
going
to
show,
but
it
is
the
best
that
we
have
right
now
and
that
the
important
thing
is
that
everyone
lands
where
they
should
be
when
all
is
said
and
done,
and
the
public
just
has
to
be
aware
that
this
is
an
evolving
process.
So
thank
you
for
the
request,
Dr
Tobin
and
thank
you
for
your
willingness
to
Dr
Bedell
Timmy.
O
I
do
think
it's
important
to
just
mention
for
the
community
that
we
are
working
with
the
consultant
so
ultimately
to
to
make
sure
that
whatever
we
present
out
in
a
couple
of
months,
that
is
with
an
outside
entity,
that's
that's
working
with
the
school
district
that
actually
worked
with
the
first
phase.
I
believe
this
was
sanctioned.
You
know,
ordered
by
the
board
some
time
ago,
with
that
particular
partner.
All
right.
B
Okay,
thank
you.
All
right,
I
am
going
to
move
I'm.
As
I
said,
Ms
Dent
had
to
step
away.
I
will
simply
say:
I
will
take
the
liberty
of
with
regard
to
item
4.05.
As
a
member
of
the
policy
Committee
just
saying
that
we
met
yesterday
a
very
short
meeting,
actually
a
couple
of
policies
coming
forward,
but
I,
don't
think
anything
of
any
unusual
Merit
to
to
discuss,
and
the
next
policy
committee
is
scheduled
for
Tuesday
March
7th
at
3
pm.
B
So
thank
you
so
that
moves
us
to
section
five
consent
items
Award
of
contracts.
R
O
The
superintendent
is
recommends
that
that
the
board
authorize
items
the
award
of
contracts
items
5.01
through
5.07
is
presented
on
the
agenda.
R
B
O
You,
madam
president,
the
superintendent
recommends
that
the
Personnel
listed
on
the
attached
sheet
be
promoted
and
or
appointed
Jeffrey
Hagan
construction
manager
of
facilities
to
supervisor
of
planning,
design
and
construction
facilities,
questions.
E
R
B
Q
E
R
O
Thank
you,
madam
president,
for
this
item.
We
will
have
Grace
sorry.
K
K
O
R
O
All
right,
thank
you,
madam
president,
so
we
are
here
now
and
we
will
have
Grace
who
represents
our
school
district
with
our
legislative
agenda
items
present
this
section
to
the
board
in
the
community.
J
Wonderful
good
afternoon,
Dr
Bedell,
president
Tobin
and
members
of
the
board
of
education
for
the
record
Grace
Wilson
acting
legislative
and
policy
Specialists
I'm
here
today
to
discuss
the
items
of
legislative
legislation
exhibit
there
are
17
bills
in
the
exhibit
before
you.
None
of
them
require
a
board
the
board
to
adopt
a
formal
position
on
these
bills
and
without
I'd,
be
happy
to
take
any
questions
you
may
have
about
this
items
of
legislation.
B
Thank
you,
Miss
Wilson,
okay,
I
didn't
catch.
Who
was
first
on
the
draw
here,
so
I
will
go
alphabetically,
Ms
Ellis.
B
P
You
so,
as
always
thank
you
for
the
keeping
us
updated,
always
a
lot
going
on
this
time
of
year,
House
Bill
206
has
to
do
with
now.
My
understanding
is
expanding
the
what's.
It
called
the.
P
J
P
P
P
But
as
someone
who
is
very
familiar
with
the
Montessori
method,
which
is
something
that's
grounded
in
decades,
many
many
decades
of
yeah
A
Century
of
of
early
childhood
education,
I
I,
know
a
fair
bit
about
Montessori
and
the
Montessori
method
for
the
primary
classroom,
which
covers
ages.
Two
and
a
half
to
six
relies
on
large
class
sizes
of
mixed
ages
in
order
to
develop
the
classroom
community
and
to
allow
for
self-directed
exploration,
known
as
uninterrupted
work
periods
among
the
students.
P
The
association
Montessori
International
has
established
standards
for
class
sizes
of
24
to
35
students
with
one
teacher
and
allows
for
one
assistant.
The
American
Montessori
Society
has
established
standards
for
the
primary
classroom
ages
again,
two
and
a
half
to
six
with
a
student
to
adult
ratio
of
15
to
1..
P
These
organizations
are
in
fact
recognized
within
House
Bill
206
for
Teacher
accreditation
and
as
school
systems
are
struggling
to
meet
the
state
mandated
requirements
for
pre-k
enrollment
due
to
a
lack
of
providers.
It
is
indeed
beneficial
to
school
systems
to
expand
access
to
the
pre-kindergarten
expansion
grant
program
to
Montessori
schools
and
programs.
P
However,
the
state
should
not
impose
additional
requirements
on
providers
that
already
meet
high
standards
for
education
and
that
interfere
with
their
proven
education
practices
and
therefore
I
move
that
the
board
supports
House,
Bill
206,
with
amendments
second
and
in
particular,
I'm
talking
about
the
the
staff
to
student
ratio
that
is
required
in
this
bill
that
it
actually
goes
against
the
foundations
of
Montessori
teaching.
B
I
would
like
to
just
say
a
word
as
many
know,
I
served
on
and
I
chaired
the
board
of
a
Montessori
school
that
served
children
18
months
to
15
years,
and
it
was
in
fact
accredited
by
the
Association
Montessori
until
Nacional,
and
the
fact
remains
that
in
support
of
what
Ms
Ellis
has
said,
if
I
were
serving
on
that
board
today,
I
would
recommend
to
that
school
not
to
partner
with
this
system,
for
exactly
the
reasons
that
Ms
Ellis
has
stated,
because
it
it
fundamentally
interferes
with
the
pedagogy
and
to
miss
Ellis's
point
if
the
legislature
is
going
to
accept
certification
and
training
by
that
same
in
group,
for
example,
what's
known
as
Ami
than
to
contradict
that
seems
problematic
on
many
levels,
so
I
would
I
would
just
like
to
say
I'm
very
much
in
support
of
Ms
Ellis's
I.
B
I
understand
that
you
know,
none
of
us
are
are
pedagogical
experts,
but
I
do
think
we
need
from
the
perspective
of
what's
workable,
for
our
system
in
getting
the
best
kind
of
Partnerships.
We
can
we
need
to
make
clear
as
best
we
can
to
the
legislature
that
this
needs
to
be
refined.
They
need
to
understand
better
what
they
would
actually
be
asking,
and
why
and
that
these
are
not
arbitrary
pedagogy.
You
know
these
are
not
arbitrary.
You'll
get
yeah
I'm.
B
B
That
these
are
not
arbitrary,
determinations
of
ratios,
that
are,
that
can
simply
be
sort
of
modified
to
get
closer
to
what
we
use
and
they
are
not
negligent
in
this.
You
know
it's
not
that
they
don't
understand.
B
G
B
Thank
you,
Miss
Frank
I
see
your
life.
C
Yes,
thank
you
also
for
items
of
legislation.
It
looks
like
Miss,
Posey
Moss
is
no
longer
here,
but
miss
lafon.
I
did
want
to
absolutely
thank
the
PCA
for
discussing
their
items
of
legislation
with
us
today
and
and
giving
us
the
what
you
guys
are
focused
on,
and
certainly
one
of
the
bills
that
Miss
Posey
Moss
mentioned
piqued
my
interest
and
I
kind
of
giggled.
C
C
Hearing
that
the
county
executive
hosted
in
in
District,
three
came
up
to
me
and
they
said
I'm
really
glad
you
mentioned
that
I
would
really
like
you
to
pursue
it
because
it
does
help
the
community
and
then
they
had
a
couple
of
reasons
and
arguments
that
I
won't
get
into.
But
I
I
did
tend
to
agree
that,
even
though
it's
not
system
specific,
especially
in
light
of
Dr
bedell's
inviting
the
community
in
and
making
them
a
partner,
I
feel
like
there
is
some
some
balance
to
be
struck
with
that.
C
B
C
Yeah,
just
if
you
could
Ms
lafon
let
Miss
Posey
Moss
know
that
we
have
absolutely
heard
her
I
will
review
the
other
items
of
the
legislation
more
carefully
and
certainly
very
much
appreciated
that
you
know
the
PTA
is
is
partnering
with
us,
and
we
would
love
to.
You
know
continue
that.
Thank
you.
K
B
You
so
I
would
just
before
I
believe
we
conclude
this
section.
I
also
want
to
add
my
thanks
to
you
Ms
Wilson.
As
always,
this
is
a
crazy
time
of
year
and
I
just
want
to
say
how
delighted
I
am
to
see
our
position
of
support
to
House,
Bill,
0056,
Public,
Schools,
dual
language,
dual
language,
education,
teacher
certification,
program,
implementation
and
study.
Obviously,
I
am
thrilled
that
we
will
be
beginning
our
first
dual
language,
enrollment
program.
B
E
So
I
move
to
update
the
our
2023
legislative
program.
B
B
All
right,
so
that
brings
us
to
policy
revisions.
Third
reading
item
6.04,
Madam.
K
O
J
Again
for
the
record
Grace
Wilson
acting
legislative
and
policy
specialist
policy
BBF
board
internal
auditor
is
before
you
on
third
reading.
Substantive
revisions
were
made
to
this
policy
on
second
reading,
and
the
policy
was
posted
for
an
additional
public
comment
period.
Accordingly,
there
were
no
public
comments
received
during
this
additional
public
comment
period.
Adoption
of
the
policy
will
also
be
accompanied
by
the
rescission
of
policy
DDD
internal
audit
office
and
with
that
I'll
take
any
questions
you
have
regarding
this
policy.
Q
Right
then,
that
was
quick.
Now
third
reader
should
be
I,
moved
to
adopt
the
draft
policy
BBF
as
presented.
