We
partnered
with
brooklyn
park
middle
school
to
serve
as
a
site
at
the
summer
meals,
a
united
states
department
of
agriculture
program
that
offers
free
meals
to
youth
ages,
2
to
18.
to
address
the
limited
access
to
fresh
fruits
and
vegetables
in
this
area.
Several
county
agencies
collaborated
to
organize
a
weekly
farmers
market
each
monday,
in
conjunction
with
the
summer
meals
program,
you
can't
have
a
farmer's
market
without
a
farmer
of
course,
and
we
were
ecstatic
when
russell
schlegel
at
schlegel
farms
agreed
to
participate.
C
We
began
working
with
mr
schlegel
and
russ
russell
a
year
earlier
as
part
of
the
fresh
fruit
and
vegetable
program,
and
we
are
happy
to
expand
this
partnership.
Brooklyn
park
is
considered
a
food
desert.
It's
a
usda
destination
designation
for
a
low-income
community,
where
a
significant
number
of
residents
have
low
access
to
supermarkets
or
grocery
stores.
C
Thanks
to
schlegel
farms
and
the
department
of
health,
we
were
able
to
increase
access
for
residents
to
fresh
farm
to
table
products
in
cooperation
with
the
maryland
farmers
market
association.
We
also
were
able
to
help
those
residents
with
matching
dollars,
97
of
which
were
spent
at
the
farmer's
market.
During
the
market
season.
We
also
gave
out
approximately
33
families
a
weekly
csa
bag,
which
was
full
of
produce,
all
of
which
came
from
schlegel
farms.
C
As
we
talk
about
cultivating
communities
of
wellness,
we
need
to
think
especially
about
the
residents
in
the
communities
where
access
to
fresh
produce
is
limited,
we'll
be
back
at
brooklyn
park
starting
june
19th,
and
I'm
very
happy
to
say
that
schlegel
farms
in
the
department
of
health
will
be
with
us
as
russell
and
eileen
schlegel
of
schlegel
farms
and
anheuser-bazali
of
the
department
of
health
come
forward.
Please
join
me
in
thanking
them
for
helping
to
provide
a
critical
link
for
needy
residents
in
our
county.

Each
school,
dedicated,
pto
and
pta
board
members
are
usually
unsung
heroes
of
their
volunteer
program.
These
devoted
volunteers
spend
countless
hours
year-round
working
closely
with
the
school
administration
and
staff.
They
carefully
plan
events
that
are
both
engaging
and
raise
funds
for
field
trips,
equipment
and
enriching
assemblies.

Mrs

has
a
knack
for
creatively:
planning
and
organizing
seamless
events
that
promises
fitness,
the
arts
and
intellectual
curiosity
for
children
and

J
She's

for
the

Her
countless

helped
make
our

a
wonderful
place
to
learn
and
work.
Thank
you,
mrs

would
you
please
come
forward
with
great
appreciation.
I
present
this
volunteer
of
the

unveiled
to
you.
D
Okay
lori,
how
did
they
get
you
here?
I
thought
we
were
getting
well
instinctive.
D
B
Before
we
move
on
on
behalf
of
the
board,
I
wanted
to
express
thanks
and
appreciation
for
our
tony
anzaloni
who
works
on
this
board-sponsored
program
for
the
employee,
employer
and
volunteer
of
the
month.
It
brings
recognition
to
so
many
well-deserved
employees
and
you've
worked
higher
tirelessly
for
many
years
to
enhance
the
participation
in
this
program.
B
F
F
F
It's
one
of
the
more
touching
experiences
to
see
these
students
who
have
worked
so
hard
for
all
these
years
finished
their
school
experience
with
anne
arundel
county
and
going
on
to
work
at
providence,
center
or
opportunity
builders
and
just
to
see
their
parents
pride
in
the
things
that
they
were
told
that
their
children
would
never
do
that.
Our
staff
has
been
able
to
help
them
achieve
and
if
you
ever
have
an
opportunity
to
go
to
a
graduation
at
one
of
our
special
schools.
I
highly
recommend
it.
K
Each
one
was
unique
and
different
and
kind
of
showed
what
each
school
was
about.
So
I
absolutely
enjoyed
that
and
then
just
yesterday
afternoon
I
was
able
to
attend
the
retirement
assembly
that
they
were
having
for
mr
jeshu,
who
has
been
the
principal
at
hilltop
elementary,
my
old
elementary
school.
So
it
was
just
amazing
to
see
former
students
come
back
and
old,
co-workers
and
colleagues,
and
then
all
the
students
who
attend
hilltop
now
just
sharing
in
like
the
legacy
that
this
woman
has,
and
it
was
so
great
to
see
that.
L
I
again
had
a
wonderful
graduation
season.
I
attended
seven
graduations,
as
mrs
burns
said,
they
they
all
were
special.
I
appreciate
the
administrators
and
the
parents
and
the
students
all
that
participated,
the
teachers
in
making
these
graduations
special
central
special.
I
attended
and
again
lots
of
kleenex
and
it
I
just
am
amazed
at
what
these
the
teachers
and
staff
do
for
some
of
our
our
students.
That
really
really
need
the
so
much
extra
help,
and
it
was
just
a
wonderful
experience.
L
I
also
yesterday
afternoon
attended
my
final
maryland
hall
board
meeting.
I
have
been
served
on
the
maryland
hall
board
for
eight
years
and
it
has
been
a
wonderful
time
to
see
the
expansion
of
maryland
hall.
We
are
breaking
ground
as
we
speak
on
a
5
million
addition
to
the
back
of
maryland
hall
friday
night
will
be
a
huge
celebration
for
lanelle
bowen
president,
who
is
retiring.
I
encourage
again
everyone
to
who
would
like
to
to
attend.
L
E
Yes,
just
echoing
how
fun
the
graduations
were,
it
doesn't
matter
if
you
know
kids
they're,
not
they're,
all
exciting,
miss
now
and
I
both
went
to
central
special
and
their
graduate
gave
us
all
a
kiss.
We
all
got
a
kiss
on
the
hand,
even
chris
truffer,
so
it
was,
it
was
very.
It
was
very
sweet,
but
I'll
give
us.
I
want
to
give
a
special
shout
out
to
glen
burnie
high
school.
E
And
and
last
night
mr
gillin
and
gilliland
and
I
were
able
to
attend
the
retirement
dinner
for
our
employees,
who
are
retiring
and
talk
about
an
impressive
bunch.
I
believe
miss
kutch
has
said
that
it
was
over
5
000
years
of
service
that
were
represented
by
our
retirees.
So
it
really
is
incredible.
E
The
one
one
of
the
retirees
with
the
most
was
51
years
here
in
anne
arundel
county,
and
so
that
is
just
amazing
and
we
are
so
grateful
for
all
of
their
service
and
we
hope
they
all
come
back
to
continue
to
volunteer.
But
you
know
they
can
do
it
on
their
time
and
not
come
every
day,
but
we
could
sure
use
them
in
all
capacities.
But
many
thanks
to
all
of
our
retirees
for
the
many
many
years
they've
given
to
our
school
system.
J
I
attended
a
presentation,
basically
of
a
cell
tower
that
will
take
place,
provided
the
community
agrees
to
it
and,
if
you
don't
know
anything
about
it
in
our
land,
our
school
end
or
our
public
land.
Basically,
we
are
trying
to
bring
in
cell
towers,
which
would
pay
royalty
to
the
schools
and
there's
also
solar
panels
that
are
being
basically
placed
in
the
different
school
lanes
that
will
also
bring
funds
to
the
schools.
J
M
Thank
you,
madam
president,
just
very
briefly,
though,
only
because
he's
in
the
room
I
wanted
to
just
say
thank
you
and
congratulations
to
nelson
harian.
I
I
thought
the
graduation.
For
the
evening
high
school
was
awesome.
M
I
was
honored
to
be
there
with
mrs
nally
and
every
student
had
a
story
and-
and
the
student
speakers
were
just
amazing,
but
I
I
hate
to
single
out
any
any
one
speaker
or
in
this
case
two
but
the
twin
brothers
it
was
was
just
such
an
added
touch
and
and
again
I
just
want
to
say
that
that
was
such
a
great
graduation
to
be
part
of,
and
thank
you
for
for
everything
that
you've
done
to
make
that
happen.
B
And
I'll
just
say,
ditto
about
graduation
pomp
and
circumstance
gets
me
every
time
and
I'm
just
so
impressed
at
every
graduation.
I
go
to
with
all
of
the
detail
that
goes
into
the
planning
and
orchestration
of
that
from
all
the
people
at
our
school.
So
thank
you
to
those
who
make
those
days
go
off
without
a
hitch
item.
2.10
is
the
cac
report.
N
Good
morning,
I'm
kelly
purnell
the
vice
chair
of
cac,
as
we
wrap
up
the
school
year.
I'd
like
to
share
with
you
some
of
our
subcommittee
findings,
the
first
subcommittee
that
was
formed.
We
looked
at
testing
and
standardized
testing
and
assessments
continue
to
be
hot
topic
this
year
and
I'm
sure
going
forward.
The
cac
conducted
an
online
survey
that
we
distributed
to
all
the
schools
in
just
this
past
may
to
solicit
feedback
on
standardized
testing
in
our
schools,
and
two
themes
emerged
from
that
survey.
N
N
Moving
forward.
We
would
welcome
any
opportunities
to
provide
input
on
parcc,
testing
implementation
and
efforts
to
consolidate
or
improve
testing
practices,
and
we
would
also
suggest
revisiting
communication
methods
and
practices
that
are
intended
to
educate
the
parents,
about
the
testing
that
the
students
are
taking.
N
We
would
recommend
exploring
the
possibility
of
increased
cat,
north
or
cat
south
opportunities
for
at-risk
populations
and
or
students
as
alternative
schools
and
we'd
also
recommend
ensuring
that
families
of
these
students
at
the
alternative
schools
have
a
voice
in
the
community.
We
found
that
they
did
not
have
ptas
and
they
have
no
specific
cac
representation.
N
That
explained
the
complexity
of
effectively
utilizing
the
vmax
compass
transportation
system
software,
and
so
we
attempted
to
disseminate
this
information
to
our
clusters.
B
O
I
have
a
brief
report
where,
as
graduations
are
winding
up
in
the
school
year,
is
winding
up,
ptas
are
many
of
them
are
having
their
elections,
are
changing
over
leadership,
so
the
council
will
be
providing
trainings
over
the
summer
for
new
leaders
and
members
who
would
like
to
think
about
leadership
going
forward
so
june
22
at
the
carver
center
in
crofton
from
six
to
eight,
the
council
will
support
anyone
wanting
training
for
their
officer
roles
and
that's
all
I
have
to
report
so.
P
Q
Good
morning
my
name
is
kathy
flaherty,
I'm
the
vice
chair
for
ccac.
I
have
two
children
in
our
school
system.
Thank
you
for
the
opportunity
to
talk
with
you
about
special
education
and
about
ccax
past
year,
just
to
highlight
some
of
our
activities
this
past
year.
We
continue
to
maintain
a
ccac
website
and
respond
to
stakeholder
inquiries.
Q
Our
membership
of
parents,
guardians
and
staff
consists
of
about
450
email
subscribers
about
150
facebook
subscribers.
We
hold
monthly
meetings
with
varied
attendance,
focusing
on
concerns
pertinent
to
special
education
in
the
county.
We
continue
to
hold
active
representation
on
cac
and
payac,
and
we
recently
added
live
webcasting
to
our
meetings.
This
spring,
this
past
fall.
Q
We
held
our
fourth
annual
special
education
resource,
fair
with
over
40
community
organizations
and
aacps
departments,
sharing
information
with
about
130
families,
it's
a
fabulous
cooperative
event
to
reach
out
and
interface
with
parents
and
guardians
discussing
and
explaining
special
education
services.
Some
of
those
people
have
children
in
special
education
and
really
don't
understand
the
system,
and
this
is
a
great
opportunity
to
kind
of
help
them
understand.
Q
We
distributed
27
copies
of
lost
at
school
by
dr
ross.
Green
to
aacps
staff
and
type
2
non-public
school
staff.
Dr
green
has
dedicated
his
life
to
working
to
help
those
who
work
with
children
to
understand,
challenging
behavior
and
work
toward
positive
solutions.
His
non-profit
organization
lives
in
the
balance,
offers
strategies
to
empower
educators
to
address
root,
causes
and
enact
change
with
their
most
at-risk
kids.
Our
strategy
is
to
help
provide
resources
to
address
these
issues
for
our
students
who
are
slipping
through
the
cracks.
Q
Q
Q
Overall,
the
surveys
had
a
really
positive
response
and
a
positive
response
about
special
education
services
in
the
county.
It
showed
about
a
seven
percent
increase
in
overall
satisfaction
from
the
second
year
over
the
first
year.
This
is
the
third
year
for
the
survey.
The
survey
continues
to
show
a
need
for
school-based
iep
teams
to
seek
additional
support
from
outside
the
school
building
when
needed.
The
survey
team
believes
that
involvement
of
the
central
office
staff
can
be
a
proactive
measure
that
can
avoid
or
lessen
further
complicated,
expensive
measures
in
providing
special
education
services.
Q
Ccac
is
was
honored
to
be
appointed
to
the
school
board
appointment
commission
to
represent
the
interests
of
children
with
disabilities
in
this
next
appointment.
To
sum
up,
our
concerns.
Special
education
is,
and
will
continue
to
be,
a
complicated
puzzle
for
most
parents.
It's
often
overwhelming
to
navigate
what
feels
to
be
a
frustrating
mystery
with
your
precious
child's
success
at
stake.
Seacac
believes
more
resources
for
parents
to
be
partners
in
this
journey
are
necessary.
Q
Staffing
for
special
education
remains
a
concern
too
often
parents
hear
or
feel
service
decisions
are
based
on
staffing
limitations.
Staff
can
often
be
overwhelmed
with
large
caseloads
info
forced
to
make
decisions
based
on
what
is
possible
to
do
rather
than
on
what
a
student
truly
needs
cc
understands
the
various
competing
interests
for
resources
and
funds.
We
also
know
that
the
payments
for
crisis
to
correct
student
situations
will
almost
always
exceed
proper,
proactive
planning
and
service
provision.

B
All
right,
we'll
move
on
to
the
public
comment
portion
of
the
meeting.
Anyone
wishing
to
speak
on
an
item
not
on
today's
agenda
may
offer
testimony
during
this
portion
of
the
meeting.
Speakers
will
be
allotted
three
minutes
each
and
the
board
asks
that
comments
remain
civil
and
appropriate
for
the
various
audiences
that
may
be
watching
or
viewing
the
meeting
student
specific
and
personnel
matters
are
confidential
and
can
be
not
cannot
be
discussed
in
this
forum.
This
time
is
intended
for
speakers
to
voice
their
opinion
and
not
necessarily
ask
the
question
and
answer
period.
B
R
I
do
not
speak
today
as
a
student
striving
to
improve
her
school
system.
I
speak
as
a
member
of
the
public
striving
to
improve
her
community
and
her
country.
In
recent
times.
Both
my
community
and
my
country
have
struggled
with
issues
of
hatred,
intolerance
and
violence
over
the
past
couple
of
years.
R
It
was
to
my
despair
that
I
learned
that
these
issues
struck
closer
to
home
that
I
used
than
I
used
to
think
with
incidents
in
impacting
schools,
climates
in
aacps
and,
most
tragically,
the
recent
killing
of
a
bowie
state
student
at
the
university
of
maryland
college
park.
A
school
many
of
my
friends
will
attend
in
the
fall
and
the
alma
mater
of
both.
R
My
parents,
despite
these
discouraging
events,
I
was
very
pleased
to
learn
that
yesterday
the
anne
arundel
county
council
unanimously
passed
resolution
22-17,
which,
in
the
words
of
oai
news,
responded
to
the
killing
as
well
as
other
recent
events
in
the
state
and
county
that
have
shown
hateful
messages
in
speech
serve
as
a
call
to
action
for
certain
individuals
to
perform.
Bold
acts
meant
to
induce
fear
and
commit
acts
of
violence
which
the
resolution
condemns.
R
This
anti-hate
crime
resolution
is
a
step
forward
for
inclusion
and
diversity
and
a
movement
against
racism
and
intolerance.
As
a
member
of
the
public
and
a
resident
of
this
county,
I
encourage
the
board
to
release
a
public
statement
to
acknowledge
the
passing
of
resolution
22-17
and
to
support
its
message.
Thank
you
for
your
time.
S
Thank
you
for
this
opportunity.
I'm
janet
norman,
an
annapolis
high
parent
for
the
next
four
years,
while
we
rightly
celebrate
the
graduations
from
our
12
high
schools
and
the
amazing
staff
who
helped
our
students
get
there.
Let's
not
forget
the
16
500
high
schoolers,
who
are
taking
long
exams
right
now,
as
we
speak
after
rising
at
5
15
to
6
15
this
morning,
no
amount
of
miss
chittims
or
mr
mack
can
fix
all
the
problems
we
lay
at
our
their
doorstep.
S
No
matter
how
fantastic
they
are
I'd
love
to
talk
about
all
the
great
things
they
do
and
the
staff
does.
But
it's
our
obligation
to
talk
about
the
things
that
need
fixing
five
minutes,
just
five
minutes.
That's
how
long
our
police
chief
altamir
says
it
takes
our
kids
to
get
a
hold
of
drugs
in
any
school
or
neighborhood.
If
they
want
to,
they
don't
even
need
money.
S
S
Think
about
what's
in
control!
For
you,
as
a
school
board,
you
can't
control
the
drugs
flooding
into
our
county
or
what
dangerous
or
fatal
substances
they're
laced
with.
You
can't
control
the
home
environments
that
our
teens
are
raised
in.
You
can't
control
the
presence
of
social
media
in
their
lives.
S
You
can't
control
the
astronomical
costs
of
college
or
the
pressures
of
stress
of
launching
into
a
good
career
or
or
college
path,
but
what
you
can
control
is
the
amount
of
resiliency
they
bring
to
these
pressures
through
rested,
healthy
body
and
brain
our
current
and
next
school
year
times.
Don't
achieve
that,
so
it's
time
to
act
further.
S
This
is
not
about
me.
This
is
not
about
start
school
later.
It's
not
about
winning
a
position
or
voting
for
our
opinion.
It's
not
about
you
or
anyone
else
in
this
room.
It's
about
them.
The
high
school
students
in
our
charge
in
care,
the
69
000
high
school
person
years
they'll
experience
in
the
next
12
years
when
you
and
I
are
all
long
gone
from
decision
making
at
the
adolescent,
sleep,
health
and
school
start
times
conference
this
april
in
dc,
I
met
school
officials
from
all
over
the
country
taking
action.
S
I
wish
you
could
have
met
them
and
learn
from
them.
You
still
can
they
are
willing,
seattle,
denver,
connecticut,
wisconsin,
texas,
kentucky
and
more
superintendents
transportation
directors,
school
board
members.
They
all
said
it's
the!
Why
you
do
this
and
the
communicated
intent
to
your
parents
and
community,
then
the
how
can
be
adjusted.
S
We're
leaving
our
kids
behind.
What's
incredible?
Is
the
frequency
of
our
kids
with
thoughts
of
self-harm
or
mental
health
crises,
including
talk
of
suicide,
as
ms
williams
might
know,
there's
even
a
standardized
protocol
in
our
high
schools
that
once
sent
out
of
class
to
talk
to
the
guidance
counselor
from
my
suburban
new
york,
high
school
of
two
thousand
kids
in
the
last
18
months.
Four
of
them
have
committed
suicide.
S
That's
too
many!
So,
as
our
anne
arundel
county
health
department
reports
clearly
indicate
not,
my
child
is
not
an
adequate
mindset.
After
the
fact,
we
must
ward
off
addictions
with
prevention
measures.
As
the
cdc
advises
us,
sleep
is
one
of
those
ways:
they're
all
our
children,
not
just
the
ones
who
are
thriving.
S
B
B
B
M
Gilliland,
thank
you,
madam
president.
I
know
we.
We
typically
don't
comment
on
these,
but
they're
just
two
names
in
particular,
though,
on
the
retirement
list
who
were
teachers
of
mine
that
were
very
impressionable
and
again
I
I
would
be
remiss
if
I
didn't
acknowledge
them.
M
Melva
sunday,
I
saw
her
last
night
at
the
retirement
ceremony
and
richard
albright,
who
I
saw
at
events
at
both
benfield
elementary
and
shipley
shipley's
choice
elementary
earlier
this
year
and
again,
both
of
those
teachers
were
music
teachers,
and
you
know
between
the
two
of
them.
They
have
over
80
years
experience
with
anne
arundel
county
public
schools,
and
I
just
want
to
personally
thank
them
for
all
that
they've
done
for
students
across
the
county
for
for
four
decades
and
then
thank
them
for
what
they've
done.
For
me.
I
Retirement
of
gene
marie
hofstetter,
which
is
listed
as
item
24
in
the
retirement
section
on
page
six,
and
just
note
that
ms
hofstetter
has
dedicated
40
years
of
her
life
to
serving
as
an
educator
all
of
them
here
in
the
county.
Most
recently
is
the
the
president
of
davidsonville
elementary
school,
where
I
think
she's
made
a
tremendous
difference
in
the
lives
of
students
there,
including
my
my
older
son,
and
I
just
really
appreciate
her
service.
B
T
Ma'am,
I
recommend
the
board
approve
of
the
jones
elementary
school
deed
of
easement
and
agreement.
B
B
U
Yes,
good
morning,
for
the
record,
my
name
is
melissa
rawls
and
I
am
the
director
of
employee
relations
good
morning
to
you,
miss
corbilak,
dr
arlatto,
and
members
of
the
board.
The
negotiating
teams
for
the
board
of
education
and
the
association
of
educational
leaders
have
reached
a
tentative
agreement
for
fiscal
year,
2018,
subject
to
your
approval.
In
brief,
the
summary
of
changes,
as
agreed
upon
by
both
parties
include,
but
are
not
limited
to
one
full
step
increase
to
all
eligible
two
employees
unit.
U
Two
employees
at
the
top
step
will
receive
a
one
percent
cola
and
the
second
full
step
will
be
provided
to
eligible
employees
who
were
employed
in
unit
2
during
the
2008
9
school
year
and
who
remain
employed
in
unit
2
into
the
2017-18
school
year.
Additionally,
there
will
be
an
extension
of
the
professional
leave
pilot
program
for
the
17-18
school
year.
U
Lastly,
there
have
been
modifications
to
health
care
plan
design
this
year
the
teams
negotiated
exceptionally
challenging
issues
particularly
related
to
health
care.
However,
both
parties
worked
diligently
to
reach
an
agreement
that
served
the
best
interest
of
the
board
ael
members
and
support
their
commitment
to
aacps
students,
staff
and
community.
U
I
would
like
to
give
special
thanks
to
will
myers
the
president
of
ael
nelson
harin,
the
vice
president
of
ael,
for
their
dedicated
efforts,
as
well
as
the
entire
ael
bargaining
team.
During
this
fy18
negotiations
on
may
24th,
2017
ael
ratified
this
agreement
and,
as
such,
I
respectfully
request
your
approval
and
ratification
of
the
noted
summary
of
changes.
P
Yes,
okay,
good
morning,
president
corbin,
dr

members
of
the
board
for
the
record,
I'm
nelson
harian,
vice
president
of
the
association
of
educational
leaders.
Ael
today
we
are
seeking
your
approval
and
ratification
of
the
negotiated
agreement
effective
for
the
school
years
of
july,
1st
2017
through
june
30th
2019..
P
Most
importantly,
it
also
acknowledges
salary
and
health
premium
contributions
by
the
employees
and
the
board
and
benefits
provided
for
all
are
linked
together.
We
are
hopeful
that
you
will
continue
your
efforts
to
secure
the
funding
as
agreed.
Ael
stands
ready,
along
with
the
other
bargaining
units
to
assist
in
this
effort.
P
U
B
T
U
Yes
again,
for
the
record,
my
name
is
melissa,

the
director
of
employee
relations,
the
negotiating
team
for
the
board
of
education
and
the
american

of

and
municipal

Local

have
reached
a
tentative
agreement
for
fiscal

U
U
Lastly,
a
second
full
step
will
be
provided
to
eligible
employees
who
were
employed
in
the
2008
through
2009
school
year
and
who
remain
employed
in
the
2017-18
school
year.
There
is
also
going
to
be
a
modification
to
the
salary
scale
which
will
more
equitably
smooth
out
the
the
the
steps
that
are
included
within
that
salary
scale.
E
I
just
want
to
thank
miss
rawls
and
all
of
her
staff
and
the
leadership
of
the
to
bargaining
units
for
all
their
hard
work.
It
is
nice
this
year
that
so
many
of
our
contracts
are
being
ratified
so
early
in
the
in
the
school
in
the
not
school
year,
but
in
the
fiscal
year-
and
I
know
that
was
a
lot
of
hard
work
on
this
side
on
the
basis
of
both
parties.
So
thank
you.
Thank
you.
B
Are
there
any
public
comments
on
this
item?
All
those
in
favor
motion
passes.
Eight
zero,
zero.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
The
next
two
items
are
policy
revisions.
Second
readings.
These
are
information
items
the
first
one
is
item
5.06
suspension
and
dismissal
of
professional
staff
code
gbu,
and
there
were
no
public
comments.
Correct.
V
B
June
21st
thank
you
item
5.07
also
a
second
reading
investigations
and
due
process
code
bag,
and
there
was
one
public
comment.
V
Correct
for
the
record,
jeanette
ortiz,
legislative
and
policy
council
good
morning,
we
had
one
public
comment
on
policy
bag
from
a
tech
representative,
and
the
concern
relates
to
section
1a
under
the
position
where
we
list
teacher
principal
supervisor,
assistant,
superintendent
or
other
professional
assistant
tech
was
concerned
that
all
certificated
employees
were
not
covered.
However,
I
was
able
to
share
state
law
which
defines
professional
assistance
as
a
certificated,
employee
and
the
language.
The
list
that
we
have
in
one
a
is
actually
derived
from
state
law.
So
I
think
that
was
able
to
answer
the
concern.
