a
brief
rundown
of
the
board's
most
recent
actions
and
what
happened
at
the
sep
tember
seventh
board
of
education
meeting.
Just
in
case
you
missed
it.
The
board
made
final
revisions
to
five
policies
regarding
Interscholastic
athletics,
extracurricular
activities,
student
parking
at
high
schools,
curriculum
guides
and
course
outlines
and
advanced
learner
programs.

customary
at
the
first
meeting
in
September,
the
board
was
focused
on
school
facilities,
superintendent,
Georgia
lotto
recommended
a
230
4.9
million
dollar
fiscal
year,
2018
capital
budget
to
the
Board
of
Education
that
contains
design
and
or
construction
funding
for
nine
major
school
projects,
while
maintaining
the
priority
order
established
by
the
2015
MGT
capital
facility
study.
The
request
allocates
more
than
172
million
dollars
to
the
following.

renovation
for
construction,

dollars,

Point,
Elementary
renovation,
construction,

renovation,

board
will
make
its
decision
before
submitting
the
documents
to
the
state's
interagency
committee
for
school
construction
in
October.
The
public
will
have
an
opportunity
to
address
the
board
regarding
the
capital,
budget
and
capital
improvement
plan
at
the
next
board
of
education
meeting
the
proposed
fiscal
year.

budget

be

In
response
to
its
request,
the
board
received
a
presentation
outlining
two
options:
to
shift
school
start
and
dismiss
x.
The
board
agreed
to
vote
on
the
matter
at
its
next
meeting.

question-and-answer
period,
the
board
approved
the
annual
comprehensive
maintenance
plan
which
details
maintenance
activity
and
needs
at
all
school
system
facilities.
It
also
outlines
when
and
what
type
of
repair
work
can
be
expected
along
a
five-year
timeline.
