A
Hello
and
welcome
to
the
2022-2023
school
year.
This
is
the
aacps
digest
bringing
you
news
about.
The
people
and
programs
of
Anne
Arundel
County,
Public
Schools
every
new
school
year
brings
new
people
and
initiatives.
This
year
is
no
different,
as
one
of
those
new
faces
includes
a
new
superintendent
of
schools,
Dr
Mark,
T
Bedell,
who
began
the
first
week
of
school
reading,
students
and
thanking
staff
at
dozens
of
schools
throughout
the
district.
B
I've
only
been
on
the
job
for
three
weeks,
the
beautiful
thing
is
I'm,
making
a
lot
of
Assessments
right
now
as
to
where
we
are
how
we
got
into
the
positions
that
we're
in
and
what
Solutions
will
me
make
will
be
made
available,
I'm
very
confident
that
what
we're
dealing
with
right
now,
they're,
not
I,
I
I've,
had
to
deal
with
big
big
problems.
We
got
a
lot
of
little
problems
right
that
that
we
can
fix,
and
we
and
we'll
work
with
the
community
to
fix
those
I
promise.
You
all
that.
A
A
Burdell
will
be
getting
to
know
many
of
the
partners,
families
and
schools
in
the
county
through
a
100-day
entry
plan,
to
include
a
listening
and
learning
tour.
Just
in
time
for
the
school
year
to
begin,
a
new
initiative
was
launched
to
keep
students
safe
as
they
travel
to
school,
in
collaboration
with
Anne
Arundel
County
government,
Anne,
Arundel,
County,
police
and
vendor
bus
Patrol
aacps
has
worked
to
install
cameras
on
all
buses
in
an
effort
to
capture
photographical
evidence
of
motorists
who
illegal
fully
pass
buses
when
the
stop
signs
are
extended
and
lights
are
flashing.
If.
C
D
Every
time
a
motorist
illegally
passes
a
stopped
school
bus
that
driver
places
an
innocent
child's
life
at
risk,
there's
nothing
more
important
to
us
than
protecting
the
safety
of
our
children.
A
recent
pilot
project
conducted
by
bus
Patrol
in
Maryland
and
other
states,
indicated
that
school
buses
are
illegally
passed
by
drivers
anywhere
between
two
and
four
times
per
bus
per
day.
A
B
A
E
Are
very
excited
about
pre-k-3,
the
students
are
very
excited,
they're,
transitioning,
very
well
into
getting
to
the
routines,
they're
all
smiling
and
happy,
and
the
teachers
are
very
excited
about
the
program
being
here.
It's
it's
great
that
we're
able
to
have
an
impact
at
such
a
younger
age
to
get
them
acclimated
and
ready
for
pre-K.
Four,
what's
helpful
to
be
better
prepared
for
pre
for
kindergarten
and
so
on
and
so
forth.
So
we're
excited
about
the
program.
