Description
Lothian Elementary School dedicates their brand new building!
A

C
C
This
school
was
built
for
them
and
with
this
new
facility,
they
truly
have
the
potential
to
reach
their
goals
and
dreams
for
the
future.
This
is
a
very
significant
day
in
the
history
of
Lothian
elementary
as
we
take
pride
in
our
new
kingdom
before
we
go
further
in
the
program.
I
want
to
introduce
some
special
guests
who
have
come
to
help
us
celebrate
from
Anne
Arundel
County
Board
of
Education.
Vice
president
patty
nalli.
C
Thank
him
for
his
sincere
dedication
and
hands-on
support
when
I
was
charged
to
lead
this
school
seven
years
ago,
I
knew
it
was
a
unique
and
special
opportunity
to
join
an
amazing
community.
It
is
my
privilege
to
serve
the
students
and
families
of
Lothian
and
to
be
part
of
this
milestone
in
our
schools
history.
This
truly
is
a
new
chapter
in
our
kingdoms
legacy
as
we
implement
the
enhancing
elementary
excellence
or
Triple
E
program.
Our
students
will
gain
additional
instruction
with
a
global
studies.
Theme
I
must
say
again.
C
Usually
make
the
kids
wore
I
would
now
like
to
take
another
brief
moment
to
acknowledge
the
many
people
it
took
to
make
this
happen,
for
us,
collaboration
only
partially
describes
what
it
takes
to
transition
into
a
new
building.
I
would
like
to
begin
by
thanking
some
key
people
who
made
this
look
easy.
My
assistant,
principal
Charlotte
boy
saw.
C
C
They've
left
no
stone
unturned
to
ensure
that
our
teachers,
parents
and
students
have
a
smooth
school
year.
Our
PTA
led
by
new
president
Celeste
busser
and
former
presidents
during
planning
and
construction,
melissa,
robertson
and
tracy
shifter,
and
the
members
of
the
executive
board,
who
were
always
there
for
us.
C
The
faculty
and
staff
here
in
their
new
red
polos
thank
you.
Pta
have
displayed
the
utmost
professionalism,
their
perseverance,
flexibility
and
enthusiasm,
kept
our
students
learning
at
high
levels
despite
being
displaced
for
two
years.
Therefore,
I'd
also
like
to
thank
our
wonderful
hosts
at
southern
middle
school,
the
staff
there
was
kind
and
accommodating
to.

making
this

enjoyable
at
all

C
Everyone
has
been
so
supportive
of
this
project.
I
cannot
fully
express
how
much
your
dedication,
perseverance
and
diligence
means
to
the
work
we
do
for
our
students,
as
we
continue
to
provide
excellent
instruction.
Now,
with
these
amazing
resources,
you
will
see
the
results
of
your
contributions
at
this
time.
Please
join
me
in
welcoming
to
the
podium,
the
vice-president
of
the
Board
of
Education,
mrs.
patty
nalli,.
D
Thank
You
Missy.
It
is
such
a
pleasure
to
be
here
with
you
and
represent
my
board.
Colleagues.
I
truly
want
you
to
know
that
we
work
hard
to
make
sure
that
celebrations
like
this
can
happen.
However,
I
must
also
thank
our
state
and
County
government
officials
for
ensuring
that
we
had
the
proper
funding
to
provide
these
opportunities
for
you.
D
When
you
walk
into
the
building
today,
I
hope
you
will
be
impressed
inspired
by
the
increased
space
and
extensive
technology
that
this
new
30
1.7
million
dollar
facility
has
to
offer
with
an
almost
60
year
legacy
of
a
strong
school
community.
It
is
so
gratifying
to
stand
here
with
you
today,
as
we
look
forward
to
upholding
the
great
traditions
of
strong
families
and
achievement
at
Lothian.
You
are
all
so
deserving
of
this
moment.
Thank
you
and
I'd
like
to
welcome
the
Superintendent
of
Schools,
dr.
George,
our
Llano,
to
the
podium.
E
Good
afternoon,
this
really
is
incredibly
exciting.
This
is
a
wonderful
way
to
start
the
first
day
of
a
brand-new
school
year.
This
has
not
been
easy
at
times,
but
it
really
is
fabulous.
I
love
the
excitement,
I
love,
the
energy,
that's
in
the
room
today
throughout
the
building.
I
know
we're
gonna
see
throughout
the
day,
because
this
really
spells
excellence
for
Lothian,
Elementary,
School
and
I
am
delighted
to
share
today
with
you.
I
do
need
to
say
thanks
to
a
couple
of
people.
E
Some
of
my
colleagues
have
have
already
thanked
them,
but
I
you
can't
thank
them
enough
to
miss
brown
and
your
fabulous
staff
to
our
parents
and
our
wonderful
Lothian
students.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
Thank
you
for
your
patience
over
the
past
two
years.
You
all
have
been
wonderful
to
work
with
to
get
us
to
where
we
are
today
so
I.
Thank
you
to
dr.
lever
in
the
state
authority
for
their
funding
and
their
vision
and
working
with
us
as
we
move
through
our
capital
improvement
plan
to
our
county
executive,
mr.
E
Schue
and
his
team
to
our
county
council
and
chair
walker
to
our
County
delegation
and
our
board
of
education
for
their
vision
and
putting
together
a
construction
plan
for
their
their
vision
of
putting
together
a
capital
improvement
plan
that
we
can
create.
Buildings
like
this
that
benefit
our
students,
certainly
to
mr.
E
Schack
Novick
and
miss
Lisa
seaman
Crawford
there
in
the
back
of
the
room
for
their
time
and
energy
and
the
entire
construction
team
from
beginning
to
end
and
I
think
this
process
started
about
six
years
ago,
all
the
way
through
up
today,
and
we
still
have
some
finishing
touches
to
do,
but
it
really
is
exciting
and
I.
Thank
you,
I.
Thank
you
for
all
your
time
and
energy.
E
On
the
behalf
of
our
students,
we
are
not
only
as
Miss
Brown
said,
reopening
the
new
Lothian,
but
we're
starting
the
year
with
a
brand
new
program,
our
triple
a
our
triple
e.
Excuse
me,
where
we're
going
to
enhance
elementary
excellence
and
we're
starting
with
the
Global
Studies
program.
We
are
delighted
to
bring
that
to
Lothian
in
the
southern
cluster.
We
really
think
this
is
a
way
to
better
engage
to
more
engage
through
project-based
learning
and
global
studies.
Our
students
here
at
Lothian
we're
very
excited
about
that.
E
Last
but
not
least,
to
our
Lothian
students.
You
all
are
wonderful.
You
all
are
awesome.
Take
advantage
of
this
building
take
advantage
of
this
incredible
staff
because
they
love
you,
because
they
want
to
support
you
in
everything
that
you
do
so
you
reach
your
dreams
enjoy
today
enjoy
the
year.
I
can't
wait
to
see
the
building.
Thank
you.
F
What
an
exciting
day
this
is
four
and
a
half
years
ago,
I
got
elected
to
my
first
term
on
the
County
Council
to
represent
this
area,
and
one
of
the
very
first
school
visits
I
did
was
right
here
to
Lothian
elementary
with
miss
Crawford
mr.
shack,
Nova,
CH
and
Miss
Brown
and
I.
Remember
three
things
about
that
that
visit.
That
caused
me
to
fight
like
crazy
for
the
funding
for
Lothian
elementary
in
the
county
budget.
The
first
one
was
that
the
old
gym
was
not
a
DA
accessible.
F
He
had
to
go
outside
if
you
were
in
a
wheelchair
rolled
down
the
sidewalk
and
around
the
building
to
get
into
the
gym.
The
second
thing
I
remembered
was
that
the
addition
on
the
back
of
the
school
looked
like
it
was
sort
of
glued
onto
the
back
of
the
school
I
mean
it.
It
sort
of
had
like
styrofoam
stuff
hanging
out
something
you
remember
that
and
then
the
third
thing
I
remembered
was
that
there
was
a
hallway
where
both
doors
opened.
There
was
a
column
there.
F
You
couldn't
actually
get
out
of
one
of
the
other
of
the
rooms.
It
was
kind
of
a
weird
thing:
those
strings
three
things
stuck
with
me
as
I
went
around
to
my
different
school
visits
and
when
the
county
budget
came
up
and
I
realized
that
there
were
other
schools
and
funded
in
front
of
Lothian.
Elementary
I
fought
to
get
the
three
other
votes
to
get
Lothian
moved
ahead
in
the
budget,
so
that
we
could
stand
here
today
and
celebrate
this
day
with
you
all.
F
I
also
had
the
privilege
of
attending
a
meeting
before
I
was
elected
with
a
gentleman
from
the
community
when
I
walked
into
the
old
building.
He
said
I
attended
here
school
like
50
years
ago
and
he's
like
it
hasn't
really
changed
a
whole
lot.
So
I
knew
that
was
another
reason.
I
needed
to
get
him
replaced,
but
I
just
want
to
say
thank
you
to
delegate
Seth
Howard.
He
does
a
fantastic
job
for
our
community
here
in
South
County
in
the
General
Assembly
and
he's
here
today
as
well,
and
mr.
