The Gopher cheerleading squad and head coach Jamie McCoy, the Glen Burnie gopher cheerleaders, take pride in the fact that they are now a force to be reckoned with in competitions. We.

Really upped our tumbling when our goal is was to make the state's our sophomore year and we actually met those goals. Last year, my junior year, it was our first time making it to state, so we've really improved over the past couple years. We've.

Had a really good season hitting our team and I'm just excited for the rest of the season, you see.

How it goes started off about nine years ago, with eleven people at tryouts, no JV, just one varsity. We started off doing the very bare minimum and now we're up there with the top we've just.

Worked hard and we've practice practice practice we had struggles and we let those struggles make us better. If something went down, we got back up. We didn't let anything that maybe if we've lost something we use that as motivation to win the next competition. The.

Sense of accomplishment in making it to States for the first time in Glen, Burnie high school history like.

Our whole team was so excited because what we worked for like all year long and then finally, here that we made it it's great, it's.

Really exciting, we just had to go out there and do our best every time I motivate them. They motivate me. It's teamwork, I started.

Cheering my sophomore year and I'm in my senior year now and I could just see the progression of different people coming on the team, and you could just see how we progressed in our son team, Rotondo name, you've, gotten stronger and more.

Confident they never stop working hard every day in school, and then they have a study hall here for half an hour. And then we have a two-hour practice every single day.

Have four great seniors this year, they've been with me since freshman year and they've all been on varsity all four years and they are just they're very good leaders.

In my senior year, I'm just excited to be a captain and just be able to compete with my team and just lead a legacy for the next generation here.

Every day, with each other, we work hard together, we see each other like at their worst falling or whatever, and then we come together and to make this team team.

Collaboration keeps these Gophers in tip-top shape whenever.

We're doing something at practice. We try to make sure our technique is good, so that, if anything does like we land, we landing good, we're, not hurting ourselves.
