Host Wiley Baker highlights student athletes, coaches and various sports programs from our county high schools. This month, the 2022 Meade Football team is featured.
A
Welcome
to
the
10th
anniversary
of
athletes
in
action,
along
with
my
cameraman
and
director
Eric
Cloyd
I'm
Wiley
Baker.
We
jumped
on
our
horses
and
headed
on
over
here
to
Mead
High
School,
let's
plunge
on
in
with
former
star
player,
now
head
coach,
dinardo
Sharps
and
the
Mustangs
football
team.
All.
A
B
A
very
exciting
time
here
at
Mead
I
mean
I'm
enjoying
every
minute
of
it.
Along
with
these
kids,
the
fans
are
excited.
The
community
excited
the
coaching
staff,
so
it's
been
amazing
to
come
back
home
to
a
place
where
I
play
where
I
got
my
education,
a
place
that
gave
me
a
good
foundation.
You
know
to
move
to
the
Collegiate
level
in
order
to
build
a
program.
It
takes
all
three
phases,
we
need
the
school,
we
need
the
the
Athletics
and
we
need
the
community
and
that's
what
we're
getting
right.
Now.
We've.
C
Been
around
coach
for
many
years
so
when
he
was
here
2019
he
you
know
when
I
was
on
JV.
He
took
some
of
some
of
the
running
backs
under
his
wing
and
taught
us
how
to
be
better
backs.
He.
D
E
Coaching
last
two
years
they
came
back
and
they
they
sparked
a
change
people.
We
had
players,
come
tryouts
and
everything
and
they
came
ready
to
play
and
just
just
like
the
season
and
became
ready
to.
D
C
Somebody
they
can
like
easily
to
talk
to
someone
they
look
up
to
if
they
need
help,
then
I'm
the
person
to
come
to.
B
It's
about
right
now
here
and
now,
and
that's
what
we're
working
towards
that's,
what
we're
building
towards
and
they've
brought
in,
because
they
know
we
care.
This
is
what
I
tell
people
when
the
kids
know
you
care
they'll
run
through
a
big
ball
for
you
and
that's
what
they've
been
doing
for
us.
They've
been
playing
above
and
beyond
expectation,
Mead.
E
D
B
Y'all
put
the
ball
on
them.
You
gotta,
give
respect,
you
respect
the
game,
you
respect
your
opponent
and
you
respect
the
rest.
Those
are
the
three
things
you
have
to
respect
when
we
get
out
here.
Sportsmanship
is
a
big
thing.
It's
the
culture
of
the
team
and
I
believe
sportsmanship
again
starts
at
the
top
sportsmanship.
C
I
would
say:
I,
don't
I,
don't
try
to
bring
down
my
teammates
I
pick
them
back
up.
If
they
mess
up
I
pick
them
back
up
and
make
sure
they
not.
You
know
they
don't
check
out
the
game
early
and
thing
like
that
and
make
sure
they
control
their
emotions
Galloping
into.
A
C
Think
the
one
thing
is
time:
management
like
after
practice,
I
have
a
certain
amount
of
time
left
for
homework,
and
then
maybe
I
might
do
like
recovery
workout
after
or
even
after
right
after
practice.
I'll
take
some
time
do
recovery
practice.
How.
C
D
B
To
but
if
you
don't
have
the
grades
it
stops
here,
you
know
you
won't
get
that
opportunity
to
go
to
a
university
and
continue
post-education
and
and
football.
So
grades
are
huge.
You
know
when
coaches
come
in.
One
of
the
first
things
they
ask
about
is
how
is
the
kid
as
a
person?
The
next
thing
is
great:
how
they
play
as
a
football
player
comes
after
those
two,
because
it
doesn't
matter
if
you
can't
get
into
the
school.
