A
B
Think
about
the
role
of
a
school
psychologist,
you
know
I
have
to
think
about
those
unsung
heroes.
You
know
school
psychologists,
often
in
schools
or
that
unsung
hero
that
people
don't
know
or
see
as
much
as
maybe
a
principal
assistant
principal
or
a
school
counselor,
but
they
are
such
an
integral
part
of
the
school
staff
because
they
are
a
lot
of
times,
the
bridge
between
parents
and
the
school
they're,
often
the
bridge
between
different
community
partners
and
the
school.
So
it's
such
an
important
role
and
they
need
more
light
shine
on
that
position.
The.
C
Role
of
the
school
psychologist
is
to
help
support
the
student
services
team,
but
by
providing
services
to
students
with
the
individual
education
plans,
so
students
that
do
have
those
plans
he
provides
counseling
and
testing
for
those
students
to
make
sure
that
we're
meeting
their
needs
the
best
way
possible.
The
school
psychologist
also,
you
know,
really
works
with
us
as
a
team
to
collaborate
we
consult
with
each
other
to
just
make
sure
that
we're
meeting
the
needs
of
all
students
in
the
school
community.
So
it
really
is
a
team
effort.
D
D
C
Roles
really
do
cross
over
each
other.
You
know
on
a
day
to
day
basis,
because
we're
all
here
to
help
the
students,
and
we
do
that
in
any
way
that
we
can
so
so
it's
kind
of
like
a
village,
you
know,
takes
a
village
atmosphere
here.
So
without
the
school
psychologist
I
feel
like
we
would
really
be
at
a
loss.
E
C
School
psychologist
does
provide
so
much
support
for
the
students
through
counseling
and
through
testing,
and
making
sure
that
we're
meeting
the
needs
of
those
students
on
the
school
psychologists
caseload,
but
in
turn
that
really
does
help
with
the
overall
learning
environment.
I
feel,
like
those
kids,
really
know
that
they're
supported
that
they
have
someone
to
go
to.
If
you
know
they
need
counseling
or
if
they
need
just
some
more
support.
C
A
E
A
lot
of
times
much
like
the
psychologist,
helps
the
teacher
to
understand
each
individual
student
better.
What
makes
them
tick
what
they
need
from
the
teacher.
The
same
thing
goes
with
parents,
because
parents
have
even
less
training,
then
the
teachers
do,
and
they
don't
often
understand
them.
My
kid
is
ADHD.
What
does
that
mean?
My
child
is
depressed
right
now.
E
B
I
think
about
just
you
know,
think
about
some
of
the
partnerships
we
have.
Our
school
psychologist
works
closely
with
our
children's
Gale,
therapist
and
so
other
times
this
school
psychologist
will
meet
with
families
and
parents
and
say
well.
You
know
we
have
this
resource
here,
where
you
can
work
with
our
therapists
for
the
children,
skill
or
she'll,
say
you
know.
A
E
Sounds
dumb,
but
you
need
a
psychologist
cuz.
He
makes
things
make
sense,
and
then
it
comes
down
to
being
that
simple.
Whether
it
is
a
simple
issue
with
a
student
who
calls
out
too
much
whether
it
is
a
parent's
frustration
trying
to
deal
with
their
child's
ADHD
or
it
is
a
parent
that
is
very
upset
because
they
have
a
child
with
depression
and
they
don't
know
how
to
deal
with
it.
He
takes
things
that
are
chaotic
situations
and
he
makes
them
into
very
calm
solvable
situations.
B
Just
I
wish
there
was
more
light.
Shined
on
the
school
psychologist,
I
think
a
lot
of
times
when
people
think
about
school
psychologists.
They
think
about
okay,
the
schools
that
maybe
the
school
Scientologist
Row
is
only
to
help
the
students
when
they
are
indeed
in
crisis,
but
a
lot
of
times
our
school
psychologist
is
very
proactive
as
well
and
working
with
students
prior
to
they
get
to
the
point
where
they're
in
crisis
learning,
to
look
at
the
different
warning
signs
that
a
child
might
exhibit
and
being
able
to
say.
B
Okay
I
need
to
start
working
with
this
child,
because
I
can
see
that
this
is
acting.
This
is
happening,
or
this
could
happen
so
I
think
you
know
people
just
think
about
psychologists
and
it's
kind
of
going
when
you
see
it
when
the
problem
is
already
occurred,
but
school
psychologists
I
think
that
one
of
the
biggest
jobs
is
really
to
try
to
address
a
problem
before
it
really
starts
to
manifest
that.
D
They're
very
diverse,
they
are
human.
They
are
here
to
help.
There
are
supportive
role,
also
they're
very
much
like
this
goes
like
a
social
worker
alone
right
in
a
school
building.
We're
not.
We
are
educators,
but
we're
not
educators.
We're
not
administration,
we're
just
an
island
that
you
know
is
trying
to
keep
everyone
connected
with
bridges.
