A
A
The
purpose
of
this
video
is
to
inform
and
provide
resources
to
those
kinship
care
superheroes.
Today's
topic
in
kinship
care
corner
an
interview
with
justin
may
and
as
a
foster
girl,
make
a
kinship
care
resource.
Welcome
to
kinship
care
corner,
I'm
european
our
guest
today
is
justin
and
mrs
mary
is
a
student
personnel
worker
for
the
school
system
and
was
raised
by
her
grandmother
in
informal
kinship
care.
So
when
did
you
start
living
with
your
grandmother
and
why?
Well
I.
B
Started
living
with
my
grandmother
as
soon
as
I
came
home
from
the
hospital.
Actually,
my
mother
was
pregnant
in
her
last
year
of
high
school,
ria
graduated
in
june,
and
had
me
in
november,
so
my
mom
wasn't
financially
stable
and
still
didn't
live
on
her
own.
So
when
I
got
home
from
the
hospital
we
wanted
straight
to
my
grandma's
house,
my
grandma
always
tells
people
that
she
brought
me
straight
to
the
hospital
in
her
arms
to
her
house.
So
growing.
B
B
Have
a
great
relationship:
she
really
is
the
one
who
takes
care
of
my
1
year
old
daughter.
While
I
work
my
mom
and
I
get
along
very
well.
Sometimes
we
feel
a
bit
like
sisters
because
we
were
raised
in
the
same
home,
but
I
definitely
have
a
good
relationship.
na
relationship
with
my
mom.
My
mom
came
to
visit
me
at
my
grandma's
house
at
least
once
a
month
and
did
stuff
with
me.
B
B
I
remember
receiving
free
and
reduced
lunch
when
I
was
at
school,
but
I
don't
remember
any
other
benefits
that
we
received.
I
believe
that
at
that
time
people
did
not
know
about
the
resources
available.
There
were
no
workers,
student
staff
or
social
workers
in
the
school
system
that
you
could
go
to
for
resources
or
things
like
that.
I
think
there
were
probably
resources
available,
but
we
just
didn't
know
how.
B
I
think
I
understand
the
blended
family.
I
understand
that
you
need
a
village
to
raise
the
kids.
I
think
it's
also
important,
as
pepe
w,
to
be
able
to
empathize
with
the
families
and
provide
resources
and
things
they
might
need
to
help
raise
that
kid,
whatever
parent
grandparent
and
uncle
or
someone
else
getting
another
child
to
raise
in
their
home
and
in
most
cases
they
have
already
raised
their
own.
That
is
definitely
to
be
commended,
so
I
hope,
with
our
foster
families
as
a
student
staff
worker,
there
is.
B
Two
things:
first,
I
wish
my
grandmother
not
so
much.
I
had
not
had
the
information
about
the
resources
that
exist
for
kinship
care
families,
because
there
are
definitely
some
resources
that
could
not
have
benefited
second
time.
I
wish
I
knew
then
what
I
know
now
about
my
mother
when
I
know
how
much
she
is
planning
she
did
for
me
by
putting
me
in
the
best
position
at
the
time.
I
don't
think
I
understood
that
at
the
time,
but
now,
as
I
get
older,
I
realize
she
put
me
where
I
needed
to
be
at
that
time.
B
B
Would
say,
love
always
wins
and
never
fails.
So,
even
if
you
don't
know
the
right
answers,
even
if
you
don't
know
everything
else,
child
you
are
taking
care
of
and
everything
will
be
fine,
my
daughter
good.
They
only
had
middle
school
education
and
elementary
school.
They
didn't
have
all
the
answers,
but
They
taught
me
that
education
is
important,.
It
was
important
in
our
home
and
in
our
family,.
B
B
Will
be
fine
one
day
you
will
grow
up,
you
will
go
to
university,
you
will
have
your
own
family,
so
this
is
just
a
small
part
of
your
life,
but
you
have
to
make
the
most
of
it.
So
so
you
should
know
that
everything
is
okay,
that
your
parents
love
you,
that
they
put
you
in
the
best
situation
possible
and
you
will
get
over
it
and
get
out
of
the
situation.
I.
