Relieving
anxiety
answering
the
question:
how
can
I
help
my
student
relieve
his
or
her
anxiety?
Mary
kate
connection
is
the
wellness
coordinator
for
the
middle
school
na
pues
high
school.
She
provides
ongoing
support
in
the
area
of
wellness
within
various
departments,
programs
and
schools
across
the
district.
So
I'm
really
excited
to
be
able
to
share
this
video
with
you
and
I
know
personally,
that
anxiety
can
be
so
problematic
and
I
want
to
share,
with
all
of
you,
some
tangible
tools
to
help
alleviate
your
own
anxiety
and
ways
to
help
alleviate
the
from
your
student.
A
It
tends
to
get
worse
over
time
and
can
even
be
paralyzing.
Today
we
are
talking
about
occasional
anxiety.
If
you
or
your
student
are
experiencing
anxiety
that
is
seriously
affecting
all
aspects
of
life,
you
should
talk
to
a
healthcare
provider,
so
what
we
want
to
establish
with
our
kids,
it's
the
knowledge
that,
day
to
day
anxiety,
is
ok,
it's
just
what
we
do
when
it
gets
so
much
that
we
can
somehow
lose
control
of
it.
Happy
faith.
Dotcom
is
an
amazing
resource.
A
A
A
So
when
we
talk
about
anxiety
in
relation
to
ourselves
physically,
we
want
to
make
sure
we
are
eating
healthy.
So
there
are
amazing
articles
that
support
all
the
different
strategies
that
we
are
providing
in
the
resources
tab
so
eating
healthy.
There
are
specific
foods
that
help
reduce
anxiety,
exercise,
making
sure
your
exercise
is
consistent.
A
A
So
these
four
components
are
great
ways
to
take
advantage
of
when
your
anxiety
is
getting
to
you
physically
and
doing
that
helps
keep
anxiety
in
check
mentally
talking
to
a
counselor
or
therapist
joining
a
support.
Group
meditating
and
acupuncture
are
really
valuable
tools
to
access
now.
Acupuncture
and
counseling
are
becoming
much
more
easily
available
than
can
even
be
offered
through
different
insurance
plans
or
institutions
that
you
are
part
of
the
environmental
going
out
into
nature
gardening.
Tidying
up.
A
There
is
a
lot
of
evidence
on
how
being
in
nature
or
in
a
quiet
space
can
really
help
affect
the
way
one
drives
anxiety
then
think
about
tidying.
You
must
know
what
to
clean
and
getting
rid
of
things
you
don't
need.
1
is
a
great
way
to
relieve
anxiety
and
I'm,
not
just
saying
it
spiritually
explore
what
spirituality
means
to
you
explore
that
with
your
student,
maybe
getting
involved
in
your
local
church
or
a
spiritual
organization
is
something
you
are
interested
in
check
out
self
reflection,
books
or
magazines.
A
There
are
a
variety
of
really
great
magazines
that
have
suggestions
in
them.
There
are
also
lots
of
books
for
all
ages,
socially,
join
a
group
organization
or
team
volunteer
log
off.
If
you
haven't
seen
the
series
on
netflix
the
social
dilemma,
I
highly
recommend
it.
Actually,
if
you
have
middle
or
high
school
age
students,
I
would
even
advise
you
to
watch
it
with
them,
because
it
really
has
a
lot
of
information
on
how
unplugging
also
helps
alleviate
anxiety
and
really
what
these
social
networks
are
doing
behind
the
scenes.
A
H,
Doing,
a
spontaneous
act
of
kindness
is
also
a
great
way
to
alleviate
anxiety
from
a
social
emotional
point
of
view.
Writing
in
a
journal
using
positive
affirmations
practicing
gratitude.
These
three
are
a
kind
of
retraining
of
your
brain
as
you
respond
to
your
emotions
in
your
amygdala.
To
then
have
a
better
response
or
a
more
constructive
response
to
anxiety,
as
it
comes
up
here,
are
some
additional
supports
or
resources.
A
If
at
any
time,
you
feel
you
need
specific
support
with
anxiety
and
in
relation
to
your
student,
please
contact
your
counselor
school
and,
of
course,
we
have
these
other
avenues
for
you
to
explore
as
well
in
anxiety.
It
can
be
prevented
or
reduced
by
keeping
a
balance
in
your
general
wellness
practices
and
habits
and
share
this
with
your
students
do
as
family
activities
together
or
just
encourage
your
child
to
try
different
ways
to
relieve
your
own
anxiety
r.
It
can
really
be
the
difference.
