Description
Anne Arundel County Public Schools honors the Class of 2018-19 National Board Certified Teachers.
Monday, January 28, 2019 ~ Annapolis High School
A
Good
evening
I'm
Angela
rice,
the
support
teacher
specialist
for
a
National
Board
Certification,
and
it's
my
great
pleasure
to
welcome
you
into
this
achievement
ceremony
for
the
NBCT
class
of
2018
19
first
I'd
like
to
say
thanks
to
the
Annapolis
High
School
Jazz
Band
directed
by
Matthew
Francis,
and
we
actually
had
one
of
our
renewal
honorees
step
in
on
the
drums
to
help
them
out
because
their
drummer
was
sick.
So
thank
you.
A
Dan
cinema
I'd
also
like
to
thank
the
Annapolis
high
school
principal
Patrick
Gallinas
and
the
school
staff
for
everything
they've
done
to
make
this
ceremony
possible.
They
have
truly
been
a
a
CPS
I
said
mr.
Chaddha
says
in
helping
us
with
logistics
of
this
event
and
now
to
our
honorees.
Your
family
members,
friends,
principals
and
colleagues
are
here
to
celebrate
your
amazing
achievement
and
you
deserve
every
bit
of
recognition
for
your
hard,
hard
work.
If
it
was
easy,
everybody
would
be
an
NBC
T,
but
it's
it's
harder
than
people
think
there's
very,
very
rigorous.
A
National
Board
Certification
is
the
highest
teaching
credential
a
teacher
can
earn.
It
involves
a
rigorous
process
where
teaching
practice
for
planning
instruction
assessment
and
analysis
and
reflection
must
be
at
exemplary
levels
as
measured
against
national
standards.
This
process
also
includes
four
assessments
and
can
take
up
to
three
years
to
complete
decade's
worth
of
research
shows
that
students
of
NBC
teachers
outperform
their
peers
on
achievement
tests.
A
In
addition,
school
districts
with
a
high
concentration
of
NBC
teachers
are
likely
to
see
improvements
in
school
culture,
collaboration
and
teacher
retention
with
the
second
highest
number
of
NBC
T's
in
the
state
Anne
Arundel
County
Public
Schools
has
made
a
clear
commitment
to
supporting
our
teachers
as
true
leaders
in
the
profession.
Our
NBC
teachers
make
significant
contributions
beyond
the
classroom
on
any
given
day.
A
You
can
find
an
NBC
teacher
serving
on
several
committees:
writing
curriculum,
presenting
at
county
state
and
national
conferences,
consulting
on
state
and
national
projects,
and
writing
literature
and
textbook
for
a
national
distribution
and
there's
an
insert
in
your
program
that
delineate
s'
just
some
of
the
activities
that
our
NBC
T's
are
involved
in.
In
addition
to
teaching
our
children,
not
only
are
a
CPS
NBC
teachers
influencing
our
next
generation
of
difference
makers,
but
they
are
the
difference
makers
of
today.
A
Thank
you,
I
think
they're
behind
ok
honorees
as
the
NBCT.
You
not
only
strengthen
our
profession,
but
you
also
strengthen
our
students.
We
thank
you
for
what
you
are
doing.
Our
students
are
fortunate
to
have
dedicated
teachers
who
are
lifelong
learners
and
strive
to
improve
their
teaching
practice.
I
am
privileged
to
have
you
as
an
NBC
colleague
and
I.
Look
forward
to
working
with
you.
I
would
now
like
to
introduce
a
few
important
guests
here
to
celebrate
with
us
this
evening.
A
B
Good
evening
and
congratulations
on
behalf
of
the
Board
of
Education,
this
is
always
one
of
my
favorite
events
to
attend.
Teachers
are
the
key
to
everything
we
strive
to
achieve
as
a
school
system
and
I'm
inspired
and
uplifted.
When
I
see
this
amazing
group
of
educators,
who
have
put
in
years
of
extra
work
and
contemplation
and
study
in
order
to
become
the
best
educators,
they
can
be.
Your
dedication
to
your
craft
and
to
your
students
makes
our
entire
school
system
stronger.
B
My
children
have
had
the
privilege
of
being
taught
by
a
number
of
nationally
board
certified
teachers.
Everyone
was
excellent
and
everyone
was
very
different,
but
each
was
a
master
at
his
or
her
craft.
From
the
no-nonsense
algebra
teacher
to
the
innovative
biology
teacher
to
the
incredibly
patient
and
beginning
band
and
strings
instructor,
they
each
made
a
lasting
impact
on
my
children.
One
of
this
year's
recipients
began
her
teaching
career
at
my
children's
elementary
school.
She
very
quickly
was
known
throughout
the
school
as
the
teacher
who
was
always
smiling
and
singing
in
class.
B
It
did
not
surprise
me
at
all
to
see
a
teacher
with
that
creativity
and
love
of
her
students
had
pursued
NBCT
to
become
even
better
I've
kept
in
touch
with
a
number
of
teachers
who
made
an
impact
on
me
during
my
school
years
this
weekend,
I
learned
that
the
first
of
those
teachers
has
entered
hospice
and
will
soon
be
passing
away.
Mrs.
B
mossing
was
my
pre-kindergarten
teacher
45
plus
years
ago,
I,
don't
remember
much
from
that
actual
class
or
instruction,
but
I've
always
remembered
that
I
felt
loved
and
supported
by
her
by
perfecting
your
teaching
and
striving
to
always
be
better.
You
are
having
the
same
impact
on
your
students.
They
may
not
remember
the
formula
or
the
definition
of
onomatopoeia,
but
they
will
remember
that
they
had
a
teacher
who
cared
enough
to
give
his
or
her
best
every
day.
So,
on
behalf
of
my
family
and
my
children,
thank
you
on
behalf
of
the
entire
school
system.
C
Thank
you,
mrs.
hi
mark
good
evening,
okay,
so
you're,
sitting
kind
of
far
away.
You
wouldn't
know
that
we
were
handing
out
awards,
but
we
are
too
lighted
that
you're
here.
My
remarks
are
brief.
As
always,
and
I
just
want
to
say,
thank
you
so
I
need
to
begin
by
saying
thank
you
to
Angela
for
all
of
your
support
and
dedication
to
our
teachers.
Thank
you,
I
need
to
say
thank
you
to
our
board.
C
Our
board's
dedication
to
this
program,
I
need
to
also
say
thank
you
to
your
principals
for
helping
you
focus
and
helping
you
work
through
these
issues
as
you
get
to
certification.
Thank
you
to
your
colleagues,
your
team
leaders,
your
DC's,
your
colleagues
across
the
hall
and
next
door,
who
you
have
helped
who
have
helped
you
get
through
the
process.
It's
a
great
deal
of
work.
We
recognize
that
they
recognize
that
and
it's
much
appreciated,
but
most
of
all,
I
need
to.
Thank
you,
the
teachers
for
going
through
the
process.
C
Thank
you.
Thank
you
for
your
your
continued
support
of
your
children
and
certainly
of
your
profession,
because
you
are
the
role
models
for
your
colleagues
in
your
buildings
and
around
this
county
and
around
the
state
and
around
the
country,
and
so
thank
you.
Thank
you
to
all
thank
you
for
being
here
this
evening,
and
we
are
delighted
to
recognize
you
and,
through
this
difficulties,
difficult
endeavors
and
to
award
you
certainly
this
this
this
well-earned
certification
as
a
nationally
board
certified
teacher.
Thank
you.
Thank.
D
Good
evening,
everyone,
my
name,
is
Tamara
tombs
in
and
I
am
the
secretary
treasurer
of
your
Teachers
Association
president
Russell
Leone
sends
his
regrets
that
he
could
not
be
here
tonight
to
personally
greet
you
and
congratulate
you
on
behalf
of
your
attack
leadership
team.
We
congratulate
you
on
this
important
accomplishment.
D
We
applaud
the
dedication
you
have
shown
to
your
students
and
your
profession
by
achieving
national
board
status.
Your
experience
of
self-reflection
and
examination
of
teaching
practices
will
enrich
the
learning
of
your
students
now
and
in
the
future.
Thank
you
for
working
to
elevate
our
profession.
Congratulations,
and
it
is
an
honor
to
be
here
with
you
tonight.
A
Thank
you
now.
It
is
my
pleasure
to
introduce
our
keynote
speaker.
Melissa
Chandler's
specialty
may
be
music,
but
she
also
managed
to
compose
an
exquisite
education
career
in
Harford
County
over
the
last
16
years.
Melissa
earned
her
first
national
board
certification
in
early
and
middle
childhood,
music
in
2009
and
recently
renewed
her
status
with
a
master's
degree
in
music,
education
and
many
other
certificates,
including
administration
and
leadership.
She
has
experienced
at
multiple
levels
and
schools.
She
currently
shares
her
love
of
music
and
expertise
at
youths
benefit
Elementary
School
in
Fallston
Maryland.
A
Her
journey
has
led
to
many
numerous
mentoring
and
leadership
opportunities.
She
has
worked
with
national
board
on
setting
standards,
revising
componentOne
and
consultation
on
music
standards.
She
is
also
heavily
involved
with
the
Harford
County
Public
Schools
national
board
network
and
has
collaborated
with
others
such
as
the
National
Board
Maryland
Network.
As
a
National
Board
fellow
melissa
is
a
passionate
advocate
for
national
board
certification
and
its
influence
on
student
learning
and
outcomes.
A
She
works
directly
with
national
boards
outreach
engagement
and
communications
directors
to
encourage
their
work.
Her
focus
is
supporting
the
national
boards
network
in
order
to
engage
greater
number
of
educators
through
the
certification
process
and
mobilize
current
NBCTs
as
education
leaders.
Ladies
and
gentlemen,
please
welcome
our
NBCT
colleague,
Melissa
Chandler.
E
Thank
you,
mrs.
white,
sir,
for
inviting
me
this
evening
to
be
part
of
your
envi
CT
pinning
ceremony.
It
is
an
honor
and
a
privilege
to
be
your
keynote
speaker.
First
and
foremost,
congratulations
to
the
57
and
BC
T's
that
we
will
recognize
tonight
for
your
initial
or
renewed
National,
Board
Certification.
E
It
is
quite
a
testament
to
the
quality
of
teaching
and
learning
in
Anne
Arundel
County
public
schools,
as
well
as
the
dedication
and
hard
work
of
the
National
Board
Network
members
and
a
ACPs
tonight's
ceremony
is
fitting
to
recognize
and
honor
your
achievement
and
dedication
to
high
quality
teaching
and
learning.
You
may
have
had
many
motivations
to
pursue
your
National
Board
Certification.
Perhaps
you
were
looking
for
a
new
professional
challenge
or
growth
experience.
Maybe
you
were
enticed
by
the
idea
of
a
salary
increase
or
stipend.
E
Maybe
your
colleague
down
the
hall
recommended
you
go
through
this
and
invited
you
to
do
it
together.
Whatever
led
you
to
National
Board
Certification,
you
have
become
richer
for
the
experience
whether
you
realize
it
or
not.
You've
gained
many
skills
as
part
of
national
board
the
Prudential
Board
process.
You
know
how
to
be
clear
and
convincing.
You
had
to
present
clear
and
convincing
evidence
in
each
of
your
of
the
standards
in
your
written
commentaries.
You
can
deeply
analyze
what
is
or
what
is
not
working
in
your
classroom
and
instruction.
E
When
you
work
through
the
steps
of
the
architecture
of
accomplished
teaching,
you
are
thoroughly
analyzing
your
knowledge
of
students
and
instructional
decisions.
You
explain
those
deviations
from
the
lesson
plans
for
that
teachable
moment.
The
most
important,
in
my
opinion,
is
the
ability
to
reflect
deeply.
Every
component
you
completed
in
your
portfolio
required
you
to
connect
your
professional
learning
to
future
lessons
and
to
future
students.
E
You
made
connections
to
why
you
changed
your
instruction
or
what
you
would
do
differently
if
you
had
the
opportunity,
you've
developed
these
analytical
and
reflective
habits
of
mind
that
about
students
and
teaching
and
about
students
and
learning.
This
is
what
I
call
the
National
Board
lens
I
keeps
the
focus
on
what's
best
for
students
and
student
learning,
for
better
or
worse,
this
lens
seems
to
be
permanent.
Hopefully
it's
stylish
since
it
doesn't
seem
to
come
off.
In
my
experience
and
cts,
you've
earned
the
mantle
of
teacher
leader.
E
You
are
recognized
by
parents,
colleagues
and
the
community
as
an
expert
in
education.
According
to
a
2014
Gallup
poll,
81%
of
Americans
across
the
political
spectrum
believe
teachers
should
achieve
board
certification
beyond
licensure,
as
it
is
in
other
professions.
Even
if
others
don't
fully
understand
what
your
new
title
in
your
email,
signature,
means
and
I
do
hope.
You'll,
add
national
board
certified
teacher
to
your
email
signature.
They
know
it's
something.
Important
and
special
research
validates
the
expert
level
credential
board
certification.
E
More
than
a
decade
of
research
from
across
the
country
confirms
that
NBC
T's
students
learn
more
than
other
teachers
of
similar
experience
who
are
not
bird
certified.
The
estimates
of
the
increase
of
learning
are
on
the
order
of
one
to
two
additional
months
of
instruction
and
the
positive
impact
is
even
higher
for
our
high-risk
students.
E
In
addition
to
delivering
high
quality
instructions,
there's
many
ways
to
use
these
new
national
boards
and
your
lens
as
a
leader
at
the
school
level,
you
can
mentor
pre-service
teachers
or
new
teammates,
deliver
and
design
professional
development,
write
curriculum
and
be
a
strong
advocate
for
your
students
needs
NB
C
T's
can
model
what
the
five
core
proposition
looks
like
in
action,
spreading
your
knowledge
and
skills
to
help
the
next
generation
of
accomplished
practitioners.
You
can
develop
a
book
study
in
your
school
on
the
national
core
on
the
five
core
proposition
texts
from
national
board.
E
What
teachers
should
know
and
be
able
to
do
imagine
the
impact
of
all
pre-service
teachers
were
placed
with
NBCTs,
who
can
model
accomplished,
teaching
and
learning
and
help
set
those
new
teachers
on
the
same
path
at
the
district
level
board.
Certified
teachers
can
transform
isolated
pockets
of
excellence
into
system-wide
improvement
and
it
certainly
sounds
like
a
ACPs
is
on
the
to
that.
E
You
can
encourage
fellow
educators
to
pursue
board
certification,
I'm
sure
you
can
think
of
esteemed
colleagues
that
demonstrate
a
commitment
to
excellence
in
teaching
and
learning
and
might
be
ready
for
that
next
step
in
their
professional
journey.
You
can
provide
candidates
support
here
in
a
ACPs
and
online
through
social
media
such
as
Facebook
groups
or
discussion
boards.
You
probably
received
a
lot
of
logistical,
technological,
emotional
and
instructional
support
as
a
candidate
use
any
opportunity
to
pay
it
forward,
not
only
to
support
future
candidates,
but
it
pays
dividends
to
you
as
well.
E
There
are
opportunities
to
collaborate
with
NBD
pts
as
an
assessor
content
expert,
an
advisory
team
member.
You
can
engage
with
the
Teachers
Association
of
Anne
Arundel
County,
the
Maryland
State
Education
Association,
and
the
National
Education
Association
to
support
National,
Board
Certification
and
work
on
initiatives
that
improve
teaching
and
learning.
There
are
many
community
organizations
that
would
benefit
from
your
expertise
in
working
with
children
to
improve
their
academic,
social
and
physical
conditions.
The
list
is
truly
endless.
Leadership
can
take
many
forms
and
you
may
have
already
participated
in
some
of
these
activities.
E
Many
national
board
certified
teachers
have
gone
on
to
become
teacher
specialists,
department,
chairs
and
administrators.
This
opens
the
possibility
of
impacting
even
more
teachers
in
your
sphere
of
insolence
and
therefore
more
students.
National
board
often
opens
doors
for
you
to
participate
and
lead
in
these
opportunities.
If
you
look
for
them,
I
renewed
my
National
Board
Certification
this
year,
just
as
30
NBCTs
have
here
when
I
first
certified
in
2009
and
later
in
February,
when
I
get
recognized
at
the
Board
of
Education.
E
We
have
a
much
simpler
ceremony
than
this
and
I'm
a
bit
jealous
to
be
honest,
but
back
then
I
would
have
never
imagined.
I
would
have
been
in
this
position
right
now.
Being
your
keynote
speaker,
I
started
my
journey
with
National
Board
Certification
and
simply
wanted
to
see
if
my
teaching
was
up
to
the
standards
and
the
possibility
of
a
little
extra
money
in
my
paycheck
was
a
nice
bonus.
I
also
enjoy
a
challenge,
and
this
process
definitely
provided
that.
E
I
didn't
have
any
particular
plans
to
use
my
board
certification,
but
I
did
quickly
become
part
of
can't
my
county's
candidate
support
program
because
I
feel
strongly
in
a
way.
I
still
can't
quite
put
into
words
how
powerful
and
meaningful
this
process
is.
I
completed
the
NBP
TS
candidate
support
provider
training,
so
I
could
be
really
prepared
to
help
others
experience
the
same
powerful
transformation.
I
felt
through
this
process.
Several
colleagues
and
I
created
a
condensed
version
of
this
training
and
delivered
to
new
MBC
T's
in
our
district
to
train
them
to
support
candidates.
E
This
was
my
first
experience
with
creating
and
devoted
of
delivering
professional
development.
Up
to
this
point,
I
was
pretty
intimidated
and
thought.
Why
would
anyone
want
to
listen
to
me?
I,
don't
have
anything
original
to
say,
but
I've
continued
to
create
and
design
professional
development
and
I
found
it
really
beneficial
because
I
grow
professionally.
So
much
from
each
presentation.
I
do
I
can
also
be
the
change.
I
want
to
see
as
I
find
topics
that
meet
the
needs
of
teachers
that
I
in
areas
that
I
see
that
are
untapped
or
not
addressed.
E
National
Board
Certification
and
working
with
my
candidate
support
network
continued
to
open
doors.
For
me,
I've
worked
with
other
le
A's
at
the
state
level
about
the
possibility
of
creating
a
statewide
Network
I've,
attended
MSDE
meetings
and
gained
an
awareness
of
the
complex
issues
individual
districts
face
in
our
state,
as
well
as
the
sharing
of
some
positive
and
helpful
strategies
that
are
working
in
other
areas
that
maybe
my
district
could
use
or
as
possibilities
on
the
larger
scale.
I've
consulted
for
NB
pts
on
the
new
process.
E
Our
new
MVC
tees
have
experienced
I've
been
on
the
content.
Advisory
Committee
for
component
one
for
Orchestra
teachers,
I
participate
in
the
standard
setting
panel
for
component,
one
to
determine
the
test
item
accuracy
of
an
accomplished
teacher
versus
a
not
yet
accomplished.
Teacher
and
I've
also
provided
feedback
on
the
music
standards.
Never
did
I
mention
this
would
be
a
possibility
for
me,
while
I
was
working
on
my
initial
certification
portfolio
I've
also
hosted
many
pre-service
teachers.
I
love
the
opportunity
to
work
with
future
educators,
they're
often
so
optimistic
and
so
hungry.
E
E
It
opens
their
eyes
to
the
teaching
process,
which
is
not
just
standing
up
in
front
of
kids
and
talking
like
a
few
of
them,
seem
to
think
I
enjoy
seeing
their
growth
during
the
semester
and
watching
them
achieve
the
goals
that
we
set
for
their
time
with
my
students,
I
also
get
to
develop
my
mentoring
and
instructional
coaching
skills,
which
is
furthered.
My
professional
growth
National
Board
has
given
me
the
confidence
to
do
so.
Many
things
I
used
to
find
intimidating.
As
mrs.
rice
learn
noted
earlier,
I
am
a
National
Board
fellow.
E
This
position
was
only
created
recently
and
I'm
part
of
the
first
cohort
and
I
feel
so
privileged
and
lucky
to
be
a
part
of
it.
There
are
five
fellows
in
the
first
cohort.
We
all
have
areas
of
specialization,
although
our
work
often
overlaps
and
we
collaborate
on
various
projects.
As
noted,
I
work
with
the
directors
of
the
office
of
engagement,
outreach
and
communication
to
grow,
accomplished,
teaching
and
learning
if
I
were
to
list
all
the
growth
experiences
I've
had
since
I
started,
my
fellowship
in
June
we'd,
be
here
all
night,
I've
decided.
E
My
theme
of
this
year
is
building
building
capacity,
I'm
building
my
personal
capacity
as
well
as
building
the
capacity
of
others
across
the
country.
I've
created
professional
development
aerials
for
the
national
network,
Conference
Academy
in
July
I
represented
NV
pts
at
the
NEA
RA
convention
in
Minneapolis
this
summer,
I've
run
a
focused
committee
throughout
the
year
about
national
board
networks
and
NBCT
engagement,
mobilization.
The
five
fellows
have
hosted
regular
Twitter,
chats
about
a
variety
of
topics.
E
My
project
personally
that
I'm
working
with
as
a
fellow,
is
engaging
networks
that
aren't
formally
recognized
by
the
NBP
TS
in
order
to
provide
support
regarding
local
and
state
policy,
candidate
support,
advocacy
retention
and
more
I've
learned
a
lot
of
new
technology,
and
it
also
established
collaborative
relationships
with
people
from
across
the
country.
It
has
been
an
amazing
experience.
E
I
have
trouble
expressing
exactly
how
much
I've
enjoyed
and
grown
from
this
I
highly
recommend
you
consider
applying
when
the
materials
become
available
later
this
spring
I
want
to
encourage
every
NBCT
here
tonight
to
express
your
gratitude
for
those
who
have
helped
you
in
your
journey.
One
of
the
national
board
mottos
is
all
gather
stronger,
very
few
NBCTs
achieve
their
certification
without
the
support
from
someone.
No
doubt
you
leaned
on
the
candidate
support
network,
mr.
Eisler
other
NBCTs,
a
family
member,
a
colleague
for
advice,
support
and
encouragement.
E
There
have
been
so
many
people
that
have
supported
my
journey,
for
example,
I,
can
think
of
one
NBCT
who
provided
feedback
on
an
early
draft
of
my
writing.
If
he
hadn't
challenged
the
way
or
hadn't
challenged
my
thinking.
The
way
he
did
I
wouldn't
have
certified
take
a
moment
later
tonight,
or
maybe
this
week
when
share
with
your
support
team,
how
valuable
they
were
and
how
they
share
this
accomplishment.
With
you
write
a
note:
send
a
text
type
an
email
or
message
them
on
social
media.
E
Our
success
and
our
student
success
is
determined
by
the
village.
We
are
a
part
of
and
supported
by.
The
next
step
is
to
pay
it
forward.
Tonight's
theme
is
achieving
National
Board
Certification
as
the
end
of
the
process,
but
it
is
also
the
beginning
of
a
journey.
How
will
being
an
NBCT
empower
you
to
advocate
for
better
teaching,
better
learning
and
better
schools
to
meet
the
needs
of
all
students?
Through
my
experience
and
the
story
of
many
others,
it
is
true
that
national
board
certification
is
only
the
beginning
of
your
journey.
E
You
will
determine
where
your
story
goes
by
being
open
to
opportunities
using
your
National
Board
lens
and
advocating
for
positive
change.
One
of
the
best
pieces
of
advice,
an
BPT
s
director,
Stacy
Hicks,
gave
the
fellows
at
the
start
of
our
experience
was
to
find
your
voice.
She
challenged
us
to
use
this
powerful
platform
to
achieve
our
wildest
dreams
for
improving
education.
You
have
a
similar
opportunity.
E
You
need
to
use
your
voice
as
an
expert
status
as
an
NBC
t,
as
well
as
your
National
Board
lens
and
skills
to
be
a
leader
in
education,
be
the
change
you
want
to
see
in
your
school
district
and
beyond.
Your
leadership
journey
as
an
NBC
T
will
not
be
easy
work
and
the
path
to
success
will
not
always
be
straightforward.
Yet
when
you
and
other
NBC
T's
are
successful
in
leading
change
on
behalf
of
accomplished
teaching
and
learning,
we
will
have
an
immeasurable
impact
on
learning,
experiences
and
outcomes
for
millions
of
students.
E
A
Thank
You
Melissa
your
words
are
inspiring
and
motivate
us
to
put
forth
our
best
for
our
students.
At
this
point,
this
is
the
part
we've
been
reading
for.
At
this
point,
I
would
like
to
invite
our
board
members
dr.
otto
dr.
McMahon.
Everybody
up
here,
have
a
line
and
we're
going
to
congratulate
the
student.
Are
the
teachers
as
they
come
for
their
as
they
come
for
their
certificate?
A
So,
while,
while
you're
making
your
way
there
I'm
going
to
give
you
some
directions?
Okay,
our
our
honorees
will
proceed
down
the
aisle
to
the
steps.
At
the
end
of
the
stage
to
your
right,
each
teacher
will
wait
for
his
or
her
name
to
be
called
and
we'll
come
up
the
steps
and
teachers
when
your
name
is
called.
Please
walk
up
the
steps
to
receive
your
certificate
and
onto
the
red
carpet
of
Honor
and
proceed
across
the
stage
to
greet
our
dignitaries
and
to
be
photographed.
You
will
be
getting
your
photograph
taken
with
dr.
A
ieato
and
so
make
sure
you
pause
to
get
a
picture
and
then,
after
your
picture,
is
taking
you'll,
come
across
the
steps
and
go
down
the
steps
over
here
to
be
pinned
with
your
National
Board
Certification
pin
by
one
of
our
professional
learning
facilitators.
These
are
our
NBCT
cohort
leaders
who
supported
candidates
throughout
the
year
and
I
want
to
especially
thank
them
for
their
tireless
support
of
our
candidates
and
then
honorees
after
you
get
penned.
You
may
return
to
your
seat
and
then
please
remain
in
the
auditorium.
A
We
will
reconvene
up
here
on
the
risers
for
one
big
class
photo
okay
families.
You
will
be
welcome
to
come
up
to
the
front
of
the
auditorium
and
a
photograph.
Your
honoree,
if
you
want
just
please
avoid
our
professional
photographer.
That's
over
there
on
the
left
in
the
blue
sweater
and
now
miss
Jackson.
It's
time
to
announce
the
names
of
our
honorees
along
with
their
category,
a
certification.
F
Thank
you
so
much
Angela
I
am
a
static
to
share
this
moment
with
each
of
you,
as
a
fellow
national
board,
certified
teacher.
It
is
my
great
honor
to
present
to
you,
the
members
of
the
national
board,
certified
class
of
2018
and
19
and
give
you
my
sincere
congratulations,
because
I
do
know
exactly
how
hard
certification
is
and
renewal
for
those
of
you
who
have
renewed.
So
again,
thank
you
for
your
commitment
to
the
teaching
profession
and
to
the
students
of
Anne
Arundel
County,
Public
Schools.

Best

of
Meade

school,
who
earn
certification
in
social

history
and
early
adolescence
could
not
be
here
this
evening,
as
is
the
case
with
Jennifer

of
Arundel
high
school.
Who
too
could
not
be
with
us
this
evening.
Next
we'd
like
to
recognize
Amy
Young
buckler
of
Meade
Heights,
Elementary,
School,
Library,
Media
early
childhood
through
young
adulthood,.
A
Thank
You
miss
Jackson
before
I
make.
My
final
comment
comments.
Honorees,
please
remain
remember
so
that
we
can
invite
you
back
to
the
front
of
the
stage
for
a
group
photo
I'd
like
to
express
my
sincerest
thanks
to
our
NBCTs
and
our
National
Board
for
our
National
Board
professional
learning,
facilitators
who
are
the
backbone
of
our
program
and
who
helped
to
make
tonight
a
successful
event.
I
would
also
like
to
recognize
Megan
Murphy.
Would
you
please
come
up
here.
A
She
wasn't
too
happy
about
coming
up.
Okay,
I
said
no,
you
did
it.
So
I
really
appreciate
all
your
all
your
dedication
to
our
NBC
candidates
over
the
years.
It's
to
be
commended,
thank
you
for
being
that
consummate
team
player
and
your
work
has
been
instrumental
in
the
success
of
this
program.
In
closing,
I
would
like
to
say
that
you
are
awesome
profile
personified.
This
accomplishment
empowers
you
as
a
leader
in
the
classroom
and
among
your
peers.
A
I
get
so
excited
when
I
see
you
I
kind
of
feel
like
you're,
all
my
kids
and
some
of
you,
you
couldn't
be
because
I'm
not
that
old,
yet,
but
but
I
just
feel
like
a
proud
mama.
Every
time
we
get
one
of
these
programs,
NBC
T
MBC
does
give
you
the
opportunity
to
to
demonstrate
your
concert,
expertise,
your
teaching
excellence
and
your
professionalism,
and
that
you
know
who
you
are
and
how
far
you
have
come
and
where
you
can
go
even
further
as
an
educator
board.
A
Certification
is
the
best
professional
development
you
will
ever
do
it's
such
a
personalized
professional
development
on
examining
your
teaching
practice
and
it
kind
of
sometimes
it's
like.
Oh
you
know
that
doesn't
sound
too
good,
you
know,
but
I
guess
I
should
do
better
in
this
area,
so
it
really
kind
of
wakes
you
up
and
and
encourages
you
to
do
better
and
it
does
build
the
capacity
of
teachers
and
then
we
can
in
turn
go
the
capacity
of
our
students.
So
again,
as
our
keynote
speaker
also
suggested,
think
about
what
your
legacy
will
be.
A
Your
legacy
is
defined
by
your
actions
and
it
starts
with
the
moment.
You
determine
to
persevere
or
quit
with
the
knowledge
and
skills
honed
through
the
National
Board
Certification
process.
We
should
be
the
driving
force
of
building
the
teaching
practice
to
an
accomplished
level.
So
please
be
that
teacher
who
encourages
and
helps
those
that
are
maybe
overwhelmed,
because
it
is
a
really
tough
job.
Teaching
each
year
seems
to
get
harder
and
harder,
but
the
rewards
are
great
because
the
kids
learn
and
that's
what
we're
in
it
for
right
and
we
want
to
be
that
profession.
A
You
can
be
a
professional
learning,
facilitator
help
others
go
through
the
national
boards
process
or
be
a
national
board
ambassador
and
encourage
all
of
your
colleagues
to
pursue
national
board
certification.
Just
think
I
think
my
dream
thing
would
be
my
dream
goal.
Accomplishment
would
be
to
have
a
school
that
has
all
NBCTs,
wouldn't
that
be
cool
to
work
in
a
place
like
that.
I
just
think
that
would
be
awesome.
Okay,
so
now
I
would
like
to
recognize
your
valuable
support.
