If this is YOUR meeting, an easy way to fix this is to add a description to your video, wherever mtngs.io found it (probably YouTube).
A
Good
evening,
my
name
is
Angela
rice
floor
lead
support,
teacher
specialist
for
National,
Board
Certification,
and
it's
my
great
pleasure
to
welcome
you
to
the
achievement
ceremony
for
the
National
Board
Certification
class
of
2017
18
first
I'd
like
to
say
thank
you
to
Annapolis
high
school
principal
sue,
chittim
and
her
staff
for
everything
they
have
done
to
make
this
ceremony
possible.
They've,
truly
been
wonderful
in
helping
us
with
the
logistics
of
this
event,
even
at
the
last
minute,
getting
a
few
extra
things.
So
thank
you
very
much.
A
A
And
now
to
our
honorees,
your
family
members,
friends,
principals
and
colleagues
are
here
to
celebrate
your
amazing
achievement
and
you
deserve
every
bit
of
recognition
for
your
hard,
hard
work.
National
Board
Certification
is
the
highest
teaching
credential
that
a
teacher
can
earn.
It
involves
a
rigorous
process
where
teaching
practice
for
planning
instruction,
analysis,
assessment
and
reflection
must
be
at
exemplary
levels
as
measured
against
national
standards.
This
process
also
includes
four
assessments
and
can
take
up
to
three
years
to
complete.
A
Decade's
worth
of
research
shows
that
students
of
national
board
certified
teachers
outperform
their
peers
on
achievement
tests.
In
addition,
school
districts
with
a
high
concentration
of
national
board
certified
teachers
are
likely
to
see
improvements
in
school
culture,
collaboration
and
teacher
retention,
with
the
second-highest
number
of
national
board
certified
teachers
in
the
state,
Anne
Arundel
County
Public
Schools,
has
made
a
clear
commitment
to
to
supporting
our
teachers
as
true
leaders
in
the
profession.
A
Our
NBC
teachers
make
significant
contributions
beyond
the
classroom
and
there's
also
a
little
insert
in
there
with
just
some
of
the
activities
that
our
NBC
T's
are
involved
in
on
any
given
day,
you
can
find
an
NBC
T
serving
on
several
school
committees:
writing
curriculum,
presenting
at
county
state
and
national
conferences,
consulting
on
state
and
national
projects,
writing
literature
and
textbooks
for
national
distribution,
not
only
our
Anne
Arundel
County
Public
Schools
NBCTs
influencing
our
next
generation
of
difference
makers.
They
are
the
difference
makers
of
today.
Let's
give
them
a
hand.
A
Honorees
as
NBCT,
you
not
only
strengthen
our
profession,
but
you
also
strengthen
our
students
and
our
higher
academic
aspirations.
We
thank
you
for
what
you
are
doing.
Our
students
are
very
fortunate
to
have
dedicated
teachers
who
are
lifelong
learners
and
step
out
on
a
limb
and
add
one
more
thing
to
their
already
full
plate
and
they
strive
to
improve
their
teaching
practice
through
national
board
certification
and
I
did
notice,
as
I
was
going
through
the
program.
A
If
you
look
at
the
quotes
from
each
of
our
honorees,
you
can
see
how
meaningful
National,
Board
Certification
really
is
to
them
and
their
teaching
practice
I'm
privileged
to
have
you,
as
an
NBC
colleague
and
I,
look
forward
to
working
with
you
in
other
leadership
positions.
I
would
now
like
to
introduce
a
few
important
guests
here
to
celebrate
with
us
this
evening,
Anne
Arundel
County
Board
of
Education
Julie
Holly.
Thank
you
for
coming.
A
A
A
B
Good
afternoon
and
congratulations,
this
is
an
event.
I
look
forward
to
each
year,
there's
nothing
more
impressive
than
a
master
teacher
in
action
practicing
his
or
her
craft,
and
here
we
have
dozens
of
master
teachers
who
not
only
serve
students
every
day,
but
who
also
have
chosen
to
invest
countless
hours
of
study
and
reflection
to
become
even
more
masterful.
B
My
children
have
had
the
privilege
of
being
taught
by
two
of
this
impressive
Bunch
Julie
Foxton
at
Mead
middle
school
is
known
as
the
no-nonsense
teacher
who
can
impart
algebra
on
the
most
math
verse
brain
once
they've
had
her
once
all
the
parents
I
know
request
her
for
all
their
other
children.
Heather
Carnahan
is
that
teacher
who
just
gets
every
student
I
am
certain.
She
will
always
be
my
son,
Jack's
favorite
teacher
ever
I
know.
These
two
masters
are
just
two
exemplary
examples
of
the
new
and
renewed
national
board.
B
Certified
teachers
we
honor
today
I
am
certain
that
there
are
teachers
and
students
throughout
this
county
who
share
similar
stories
of
the
impact
you
have
all
had
on
their
lives,
so
I
say
thank
you.
Thank
you
for
seeking
to
grow
and
deepen
your
instruction.
Thank
you
for
striving
for
excellence,
and
thank
you
most
of
all
for
serving
our
students,
our
children
every
day
with
dedication,
creativity
and
heart.
Congratulations!
C
Thank
You
Julie,
thank
you
for
being
here
this
afternoon
to
honor
this
awesome
group
of
educators,
we're
delighted
to
welcome
family
friends
and
colleagues
to
this
super
occasion,
I'm
also
honored,
to
welcome
our
County
Executive
mr.
Schue.
Thank
you
for
joining
us.
We
know
you're,
busy
and
so
taking
time
out
is
very
meaningful
to
spend
some
time
with
our
teachers.
So
thank
you,
as
always,
I'd
like
to
begin
with
a
with
a
with
a
brief
shout
out
to
Angela
rice
ler
for
her
commitment
and
to
you
in
this
process.
C
C
Ladies
and
gentlemen,
teaching
is
hard
work,
and
yet
each
of
you
committed
yourselves
to
the
arduous
process
of
becoming
nationally
board
certified.
You
did
this
because
you
wanted
to
learn
more
about
the
art
and
science
of
teaching.
You
did
this
because
you
wanted
to
challenge
yourself
as
a
professional.
You
did
this
because
you
wanted
to
improve
your
practice.
You
did
this
because
you
are
dedicated
to
excellence.
You
did
this,
ladies
and
gentlemen,
because
you
care
deeply
about
your
students
and
their
needs
and
their
growth.
C
You
serve
each
and
every
day
as
a
role
model
for
your
students.
Now
as
nationally
board
certified
teachers,
you
serve
as
role
models
for
your
colleagues.
Don't
take
this
lightly.
My
expectation
is
that
you
step
forward
and
lead.
You
are
talented,
you
are
committed,
you
are
skilled
and
you
are
passionate
and
you
are
needed.
Ladies
and
gentlemen,
you
are
awesome.
A
D
D
These
awards
demonstrate
what
many
of
us
already
know,
which
is
that
our
County
is
home
to
a
dedicated,
dedicated
core
of
teachers
who,
day
in
and
day
out,
help
mold
the
future
leaders
of
our
society
years
from
now.
Many
great
success
stories
in
our
county
will
be
tracked
back
to
a
fantastic
teacher.
D
Those
we
honor
here
tonight
are
indeed
among
those
fantastic
educators
willing
to
take
on
big
challenges
and
fight
for
a
better
future
for
the
next
generation
of
citizens.
Their
work
is
exhausting,
and
far
too
often
goes
unappreciated.
I'm
here
to
tell
you
this
evening.
The
county
government
very
much
appreciates
what
you
do.
That
is
why
we're
here
tonight,
we
celebrate
teachers
who,
day
in
and
day
out,
are
willing
to
make
themselves
better
educators,
while
making
us
a
better
County
in
the
process.
D
The
inspiring
individuals
receiving
this
honor
set
an
example
for
their
colleagues
across
the
county.
I
can
only
hope
that
you'll
encourage
others
to
pursue
the
same
distinction,
so
congratulations
enjoy
tonight's
program
and,
on
behalf
of
the
citizens
of
Anne
Arundel
County.
Thank
you
for
all.
You
do.
E
It's
not
an
easy
process,
as
you
know,
but
the
recognition
that
you
have
earned
serves
to
validate
your
commitment
to
providing
your
students
with
the
very
best
that
you
can
offer.
The
website
of
the
National
Board
for
professional
teaching.
Standards
says
that
every
student
deserves
to
be
taught
by
an
accomplished
teacher
and
that
National
Board
Certification
was
designed
to
develop,
retain
and
recognize
such
accomplished
teachers
and
to
generate
ongoing
improvement
in
schools
nationwide
and,
furthermore,
it's
the
most
respected
professional
certification
available
in
K
through
12
education.
E
Well,
it's
not
necessary
to
have
earned
this
certification
to
prove
your
commitment
to
excellence.
You
have
demonstrated
your
commitment
to
to
effectiveness
in
your
classroom
day
by
day
your
dedication
to
your
students
and
profession
and
your
desire
to
empower
and
raise
the
status
of
accomplished
teachers.
This
is
a
big
deal
and
you
know
it's
a
big
deal.
I
know
it's
a
big
deal,
though
I
haven't
gone
through
it,
but
this
place
should
be
packed
with
people
celebrating
what
you
are
able
to
do
and
I
know
it's
really
hard
to
kind
of.
E
We
tend
not
to
want
to
do
a
lot
of
bragging.
We
don't
like
to
highlight
the
good
that
we
do
so.
My
challenge
to
you
now
that
you
are
either
recertified
or
receiving
your
pin
for
the
first
time
is
that
next
year,
when
the
list
comes
out-
and
you
see
people
you
know-
are
people
from
your
school,
you
need
to
start
networking
to
have
their
co-workers
and
their
teammates
and
the
cohort
people-
and
you
know
their
administrators
I
mean
this
place.
You
know,
should
be
packed.
E
A
Thank
You
mr.
Shue
and
mrs.
Bukowski.
Now
it
is
my
special
pleasure
to
introduce
our
keynote
speaker.
Keisha
Davis
Caldwell
is
the
director
of
outreach
and
engagement
of
the
National
Board
for
professional
teaching
standards,
and
she
serves
in
this
role
with
a
sincere
passion
to
help
her
colleagues
teach
better
and
deeper.
She
helps
them
pursue
master's
degrees,
in
addition
to
national
board
certification,
to
put
it
simple,
she's
a
teachers
teacher
and
has
more
than
20
years
of
experience
in
structuring,
instructing
mentoring,
advocating
and
developing
students
and
teachers
alike,
most
notably
her
mathematics
background.
A
An
outstanding
work
in
STEM
instruction
has
led
to
awards
such
as
the
Albert
Einstein,
distinguished
educator,
fellow
for
the
National
Science
Foundation,
and
the
Presidential
Award
for
Excellence
in
mathematics
and
science
teaching.
Such
talent
could
not
be
contained
to
just
our
country.
Keisha
also
received
the
bremen
asia
foundation
award
and
participated
in
the
Japan
Fulbright
Memorial
Fund
program,
which
has
led
to
opportunities
to
teach
and
learn
in
Australia,
China,
England,
Italy
and
New
Zealand.
Her
reach
doesn't
stop
there
just
simply
go
online
and
you
can
find
her
lessons
from
her
on
NBC's
education
nation
series.
A
All
that-
and
she
also
manages
to
serve
on
the
board
of
directors
of
IDI
reports
and
as
an
adjunct,
professor
for
national
university,
we're
just
glad
she
found
time
in
her
busy
schedule
to
come
and
be
with
us
tonight.
Ladies
and
gentlemen,
please
welcome
a
truly
passionate
educator
and
your
NBCT
colleague
mr.
Davis
Caldwell.
F
Good
evening,
how
are
you
you're
supposed
to
say
I'm
excited
I'm,
an
NBC
tea?
That's
how
I
felt
when
I
first
achieved-
and
just
so
you
know
this
year
marks
the
year
where
I
actually
go
through
the
renewal
process.
So
I
am
extremely
proud
of
the
teachers
who
are
renewing
as
well
as
new
NBC
teas
every
year.
Angela
reads
some
piece
of
that
bio
and
the
part
that
I
hope
closest
to
my
heart
is
that
I
am
an
educator.
I
am
a
national
board.
F
F
Many
of
you
may
know
that
a
few
years
ago
the
National
Board
made
some
major
changes
to
its
process.
We
heard
from
the
field
that
this
was
a
worthwhile
experience,
that
it
was
changing
teachers,
practices
and
it
was
giving
them
a
chance
to
look
at
themselves
and
how
they
could
even
improve
beyond
what
they
were
already
doing
for
their
students.
F
But
they
said
it's
daunting
and
it's
hard
and
it's
expensive,
and
so
the
national
board
revamped
its
process
to
make
it
less
expensive,
but
to
keep
the
level
of
rigor
but
to
spread
it
out
over
many
years
so
that
teachers
could
tackle
it.
And
what
we're
seeing
is
what,
in
what
we're
finding
is
that
more
teachers
are
saying.
I
want
to
put
my
practice
to
the
test.
F
These
teachers
are
spread
across
48
states
and
when
I
think
about
those
numbers,
I
think
about
numbers
that
can't
be
measured.
So
5470
teachers
go
with
me
on
a
math
journey.
Cuz
I'm,
a
math
teacher
I,
want
you
to
think.
If
every
single
one
of
those
teachers
were
elementary
teachers
having
25
students
in
their
classrooms,
how
many
students,
those
NBCTs,
would
impact,
but
we
know
they're,
not
all
elementary
school
teachers,
and
we
know
they're
not
as
lucky
to
only
have
25
students
in
their
class
most
times.
F
Imagine
that
they
are
middle
school
teachers
and
high
school
teachers
who
literally
teach
125
135
plus
students
every
day
now
think
about
their
teaching
practice
and
think
about
what
they
do
after
school.
With
students
who
aren't
even
in
their
classes,
think
about
the
clubs
they
run
think
about
the
communities
they
impact.
F
F
This
is
more
than
we've
had
in
quite
a
while.
In
other
words,
board
certification
and
Maryland
is
on
the
rise,
and
specifically
so
are
the
efforts
here
in
Anne,
Arundel
County,
three
districts
in
Maryland
are
in
the
top
25
districts
in
the
nation.
I'm
talking
about
big
districts
like
LA
Unified,
guess
what
Maryland
holds
its
own
right
alongside
those
larger
districts
right
now,
over
3,000
Maryland
teachers
hold
national
board
certification.
F
But
in
my
opinion,
it
is
not
enough
until
there
is
an
accomplished
teacher
in
front
of
every
single
one
of
Maryland
students
and
students
across
the
nation,
just
think
about
the
little
ones.
You
love
the
most,
your
grandchild,
your
niece,
your
nephew,
wouldn't
you
want
them
to
have
our
nation's
very
best.
Well,
many
of
you
are
lucky
enough
because
you
have
teachers
who
are
the
NBCTs.
We
celebrate
tonight
with
the
39
born
new
board
certified
teachers.
Here
they
represent
26
schools
with
in
Anne
Arundel
County.
F
You
are
now
leading
not
just
the
state
but
the
country
year
after
year,
in
your
efforts
to
show
what
improvement
looks
like
what
sets
in
Arundel
County
apart
well,
one
thing
is
that
these
are
true
teachers
and
true
leaders
from
central
office
personnel
to
who
went
to
renewed
this
year
all
the
way
up
to
the
deputy
superintendent's
office.
You
guys
have
shown
that
quality
matters
for
our
teachers
and
for
our
students.
F
F
You
are
doing
your
part
in
order
to
make
the
Anne
Arundel
County
communities
fabulous
and
better
now
go
out
and
tap
someone
there's
a
teacher
across
the
hall
on
the
other
side
of
the
building
in
a
different
grade.
That
you
know
is
ready
for
this
process,
tell
them
of
your
frustrations,
but
also
tell
them
of
all
you've
gained
and
how
you've
grown,
help
them
through
the
process
and
then
charge
them
to
tap
yet
another
two
teachers,
and
in
time
we
will
have
an
accomplished
teacher
in
front
of
every
student.
A
A
If
you
would
I'd
ask
for
all
of
just
a
second
I'm
getting
ahead
of
myself,
I'd
like
to
have
you
to
the
stage
and
ask
all
of
our
national
board
certified
teacher
honorees
to
go
to
the
back
of
the
auditorium
and
line
up
according
to
your
numbers
that
I
gave
you
one
would
be
down
here.
60
would
be
at
the
back
and
I'd
also
like
to
invite
everybody
up
here.
If
you
hear
deputy
superintendent,
Monique
Jackson
will
come
up
and
announce
the
names
of
our
honorees
Wow.
A
That's
happening
I'd
like
to
explain
a
few
logistics
of
how
this
would
work
so
as
we're
walking.
Let's
listen
all
right.
Let's
put
our
ears
on
our
honorees,
we'll
proceed
down
the
aisle
to
the
steps.
At
the
end
of
the
stage
to
your
right,
each
teacher
will
wait
until
their
name
is
called
teachers
when
your
name
is
called.
Please
walk
up
the
steps
to
receive
your
certificate
from
dr.
A
Please
come
down
the
stairs
here
where
you
will
be
pinned
with
a
special
National,
Board
Certification
pin
by
one
of
our
candidates,
support
provider's.
These
are
our
NBC
mentors
who
supported
the
candidates
throughout
the
year
and
I
want
to
especially
thank
them
for
their
tireless
support
of
our
candidates.
Honorees
after
you
have
been
pinned,
you
may
return
to
your
seat
once
you've
been
recognized.
Then
please
remain
because
once
we
are
finished
honoring
everyone
we
will
all
reconvene
on
the
risers
for
a
group
picture
families.
A
G
Thank
You,
Angela
and
I
would
love
to
add.
My
congratulations.
I
know
firsthand
what
it
is
like
to
achieve
the
first
time
and
go
through
that
process
and
then
to
renew
ten
years
later.
I
look
forward
to
another
six
years
from
now
renewing,
again
and
I
want
to
thank
you
all
for
your
commitment
and
your
families
for
your
support.
I
am
also
honored
to
be
among
so
many
colleagues
that
I
have
worked
with
over
the
years
and
especially
to
be
among
two
special
educators
who
tonight
are
recognized
for
their
National
Board
Certification.
G
But
as
my
son's
first-grade
teacher
and
my
nephew's
first-grade
teacher,
they
will
always
be
recognized
for
their
commitment,
especially
to
my
family.
It
is
my
great
honor
to
present
to
you,
the
members
of
the
national
board
certified
class
of
2017
and
2018.
We
will
begin
with
our
first
time
national
board
certified
teachers.
We
have
39
honorees,
Maria,
Aldred
Odenton
elementary
school
music,
early
and
middle
childhood.
G
G
G
G
G
G
G
A
Before
I
make
my
final
comments,
honorees,
please
remain
remember
so
that
we
can
invite
you
back
for
a
group.
Photograph
I
would
like
to
express
my
sincerest
thanks
to
our
embassy
teas
and
our
national
board
candidates.
Support
provider's,
who
have
work
to
ensure
that
tonight
was
a
successful
at
that
we
had
even
people
that
a
couple
people
that
had
retired
and
they
wrote
NBC
T's
and
they
came
back
to
help
us
so
that
it's
good
tonight,
so
thank
you
very
much.
I
would
also
like
to
recognize
Deborah,
Sampson
and
Lisa
Engstrom.
A
A
A
Now,
just
because
I
gave
you
a
plaque
doesn't
mean
you
don't
have
to
do
it
anymore.
We
have
some
that
have
done
it
710
years
old.
Thank
you
very
much,
but
I
do
like
to
recognize
that
consistency
and
it's
an
extra
thing
that
they
have
to
do,
but
if
they
enjoy
doing
it
and
they
learn
from
it.
Thank
you
so
much.
A
Okay
in
closing,
I
would
like
to
say
if
we
don't
have
effective
teachers
in
front
of
the
classroom,
we're
not
going
to
change
the
trajectory
of
our
students
to
be
college
and
career,
ready
and
I.
Don't
know
if
all
of
you
picked
one
up,
but
on
the
way
out
on
that
table.
There's
an
impact
brief.
That
I
would
like
you
to
pick
up,
and
it
kind
of
shows
you
a
little
bit
of
the
research
that
has
gone
on,
showing
how
national
board
certified
teachers
in
the
classroom
are
really
making
a
difference
in
student
achievement.
A
Nbc
gives
you
the
opportunity
to
demonstrate
your
content,
expertise,
your
teaching
excellence
and
the
professional
empowerment
to
know
who
you
are
and
how
far
you
have
come
and
I
know
you
feel
like
wow
I
did
it.
It's
almost
like
you've
got
to
the
mountaintop
and
it's
like
okay,
smooth
sailing,
I'm,
just
gonna
ski
on
down.
No,
we
just
got
to
keep
looking
for
higher
mountains
to
climb.
A
So
if
it
does
build
your
practice
and
it
grounds
you
and
it
builds
you,
the
capacity
of
you
and
your
influence
in
the
school
also
helps
the
other
teachers
to
as
well
as
your
students
so
kind
of
like
what
he
just
said.
What
will
your
legacy
be?
Your
legacy
is
defined
by
your
actions.
Okay,
we
didn't
put
a
tiara
on
you.
We
gave
you
a
pin,
there's
a
difference.
Okay,
so
a
pin
means
you've
got
to
keep
going.
You
haven't
arrived,
any
master
musician,
master
artist,
master
Olympian,
they've,
never
stopped
training,
they
never
stopped.
A
Looking
for
that
new
technique
or
something
that
can
just
make
them,
go
a
little
bit
more
and
something
that
will
just
touch,
maybe
that
student
that
they
couldn't
get
to
before
so
keep
looking
for
that
we
need
to
be
the
driving
force
of
building
the
teaching
practice
to
an
accomplished
level.
Be
that
teacher
who
encourages
our
newer
teachers
maybe
come
help
us
with
Canada's
support.
A
We
actually
had
one
of
our
people
walk
across
the
stage
who
has
been
doing
just
that
so
Thank
You,
Danielle,
Sinclair,
Tico
she's
been
a
CSP
for
us
already,
so
be
that
positive
voice
when
everybody
in
the
faculty
room
is
try
to
turn
the
conversation
around
okay,
we
want
to
never
stop
improving,
never
give
up
on
our
students.
Dr.
a
lot--oh
has
already
recognized
the
families
of
our
honorees
and
I
would
like
to
again
recognize
your
values
of
valuable
support.
I
know
those
support
meetings.
A
A
You
I
would
also
like
to
thank
all
the
principals
for
their
leadership
and
support,
and
for
being
here
tonight,
I
saw
quite
a
few
people
that
were
here
tonight
for
their
for
their
colleagues
and
for
their
and
their
staff
and
the
special
thanks
to
Steve
grant
and
the
entire
design
and
print
team
for
their
fantastic
work,
with
photography
and
videotaping
and
the
printing
of
the
programs
and
the
certificates.
For
this
event.
A
Finally,
a
special
thank
you
to
all
of
you,
the
Board
of
Education
doctor,
a
lot
of
County
Executive,
shew,
executive
team
and
miss
Bukowski
for
your
enthusiasm
and
support
of
the
program.
We
really
do
appreciate
it
now.
I
would
like
to
invite
our
honorees
to
come
to
the
risers
in
the
front.
Remember
vertically
challenged
people
in
the
front.
Okay,
all
right
and
I
would
like
all
of
you
to
join
us
as
well.
This
concludes
our
program.
Please
come
forward
for
the
program
as
our
honorees
come
to
stage.
Let's
give
them
another
round
of
a
frog.
