events
that
we

schools
and

encourage
you
to
participate
in
these
activities.

What
parents
need
to
know
about
school
attendance,
truancies
and
chronic
absenteeism
missing
one
day
at
a
time
From
time
to
time.
It's
not
a
problem,
but
absences
add
up
fast,
and
these
missed
days
of
school
can
greatly
affect
your
child's
learning
and
overall
health.
The
American
Academy
of
Pediatrics
encourages
parents
to
reduce
unnecessary
absences
by
learning
about
school
attendance
policies,
assistance
from
where
they
live
and
prioritizing
getting
your
children
to
school
on
time
every
day.

Like
asthma
and
type
1,
diabetes
are
twice
as
likely
to
be
chronically
absent
from
school
when
they
have
more
symptoms
of
mental
health.
Problems
like
anxiety
or
depression
are
common
reasons
for
non-attendance

to

children,

anxiety
and
could
invent
reasons
why
they
should
not
go
to
school
or
refuse
to
go
to
school
altogether.

many
