Nuestra Comunidad - April 2021
A
Hello,
welcome
to
our
community
a
program
about
the
school
system
for
the
hispanic
community.
This
is
speaking
to
you,
diana
ribera
in
our
community.
I
will
announce
the
current
and
upcoming
virtual
events
that
we
will
have
in
the
public
schools
of
a
orange
county
and
I
encourage
you
to
participate
in
these
virtual
activities.
If
you
have
any
questions
about
this
information,
you
can
contact
the
bilingual
family
and
community
relations
facilitator
at
your
child's
school.
A
1,
requests
for
transfers
outside
the
area
are
received.
An
transfer
outside
the
area
is
a
request
for
a
student
residing
in
anar
ander
county
to
attend
a
school
within
the
county
other
than
the
zoned
school,
often
referred
to
as
the
student's
school
of
origin.
Where
and
when
to
submit
a
transfer
request,
all
requests
must
be
submitted
to
the
principal
of
the
requested
school.
If
a
child
is
already
attending
a
school
as
an
approved,
out-
of-area
student,
the
application
must
be
completed
and
submitted
each
school
year.
A
Continuation
of
a
prior
out-
of-area
year
is
not
automatic
and
the
application
must
be
submitted
to
the
school
during
the
out-of-area
application
period.
If
you
are
requesting
a
transfer
to
a
high
school
for
a
reason
other
than
the
day
care,
the
request
should
be
sent
to
the
principal
of
the
requested
school.
All
requests
for
professional
recommendation
should
be
sent
to
a
center
and
the
requests
can
be
if
your
child
is
in
fourth,,
seventh
or
eleventh
grade,
and
moves
within
the
county
of
they
will
earn
two

school
year.
A
Your
child
may
remain
in
school
to
complete
the
fifth
through
eighth
senior
year
or
twelve
years
of
attendance
at
that
school.
If
a
family
moves
into
the
attendance
area
area
within
90
days
with
proper
supporting
documentation,
the
family
no
longer
must
be
a
resident
of
anna
county
giving
to
apply
if
a
family
moves
out
of
the
attendance
area
of
the
school
attended
after
the
first
day
of
school,
the
student
may
only
complete
the
current
school
year.

Requires
you
to
use
a
provider
outside
of
your

Parents
will
be
notified
of
the

of
an
application
may
take
up
to

will
be
considered
if
the

school
is
not
closed
and
the
reason
for
the
application
is
one
of
the
reasons
listed
above
other
conditions.

For
approval
a
student
maintaining
an
average
desire
to
maintain
satisfactory
attendance,
94%
or
better
daily
attendance
and
no
suspensions
or
expulsions
from
school,
your
child
must
maintain
good
attendance
grades
and
behavior.
What
happens
if
you
refuse
to
send
your
child
to
school?
The
assigned
area
contact
the

your

discuss
your
concerns.
Maryland
law
states
that
children
between
the
ages
of
5
and
18
must
be
enrolled

A
It
is
important
to
note
that,

2
17,
a
student
may
not
withdraw
until
age
18,
except
in
some
special
cases
listed
in
the
law.
If
your
child
is
an
approved
out-of-
area
transfer
due
to
daycare,
your
child
may
continue
to
attend
school.
As
long
as
approval
conditions
are
met,
you
must
reapply
every
school
year
in
order
for
your
child
to
attend
the
out-of-bounds
school.
Failure
to
reapply
may
result
in
the
withdrawal
of
your

During,
the
registration
period
for
kindergarten,
I
spoke
with
your
bilingual
facilitator
of
families
and
community
relations
at
the
school.
A
Where
you
are
going
to
enroll
your
child
and
he
or
she
will
be
willing
to
guide
you
in
the
registration
process.
Below
I
will
mention
the
steps
to
follow
before
enroll
your
child
in
kindergarten.
First
determine
the
student's
eligibility,
the
children,
s
must
be
5
years
old
on
or
before
September
1
to
enroll
in
kindergarten
2
identify
the
school.
A
Your
child
will
attend
to
determine
the
local
school
for
a
specific
address,
check
the
school
assignment,
locator
or
call
planning
office
at
4,
10,
4,
39,
56,
83,
verify
age,
identity,
residency
and
immunization
compliance,
parents
or
legal
guardians.
Enrolling
their
children
in
an
an
county
public
school
will
2
provide
these
proofs
in
addition
to
current
immunizations.
A
Fourth,
in
the
cps
page
site
has
step
by
step
guidelines
on
how
to
enroll
follow
steps.
1
and
2
then
select
the
appropriate
item
on
the
left
to
access
a
page
containing
the
required
documents
needed
to
enroll
and
any
additional
documentation.
You
will
need
to
complete
the
registration.
If
you
have
any
questions,
call
the
designated
school
for
inform
them
of
your
intent
to
enroll
the
registrar
at
each
school
can
help
you
with
the
details
of
the
school,
make
sure
your
child
has
been
formally
withdrawn
from
their
previous
school.
A
In
most
cases,
you
will
receive
a
withdrawal
or
transfer
packet
containing
important
information
from
your
child's
school
file.
That
will
facilitate
your
child's
enrollment
in
the
new
school
online.
Registration
for
kindergarten
is
not
required
for
those
who
are
uncomfortable
or
unable
to
register
online.
Have
the
option
of
waiting
for
that.
The
conditions
of
the
current
pandemic
improve
and
schools
open
their
to
personally
enroll
their.
A
Reading
announcements
and
writing
is
not
the
only
way
children
learn.
Let's
see
our
children
at
school
to
learn,
but
did
you
know
that
they
also
learn
when
they
play
playing
is
not
only
good
for
the
kids
body
play
really
helps
your
child's
brain
grow
and
learn
by
play,
doesn't
just
refer
to
organized
team
sports
and
definitely
does
not
refer
to
sitting
in
front
of
a
screen
playing
computer
or
video
games
healthy
play.
A
It
means
making
sure
your
child
uses
his
or
her
body
and
mind
in
active
and
imaginative
play,
playing
hide-and-seek,
riding
a
bike
building
with
blocks
or
legos
pretending
to
be
a
pirate
or
princess
building
a
fort
playing
dress-up
all
activities
that
come
naturally
for
children.
This
type
of
game
develops
the
child's
ability
to
think
creatively,
use
their
imagination
work
as
a
member
of
a
team
and
create
and
follow
rules.
A
Children
need
structured
time
to
build,
create
and
fantasize
studies
have
shown
that
being
outdoors
also
boosts
children's
imaginations
and
reduces
their
stress
students
in
schools
that
have
a
component
outdoors
score
higher
in
critical
thinking,
skills,
math
reading
and
behavior
plus
kids,
who
have
had
little
time
outdoors
tend
to
not
do
as
well
in
science
in
college.
So,
even
if
you
live
in
the
city,
take
the
children
to
a
local
park
or
playground
for
regular
outdoor
play.
