A
Hi
I'm,
mrs.
Kakaako
from
south
river
high
school
today
is
the
day
that
your
English
teachers
have
been
preparing
you
for
today,
you
will
be
taking
the
English
10
PARCC
assessment
before
we
get
started,
I
wanted
to
walk
you
through
a
few
of
the
item
types.
We
also
want
you
to
know
exactly
what
tools
are
going
to
be
available
for
you
to
utilize
throughout
the
assessment.
The
first
item
that
we're
going
to
be
looking
at
is
the
multiple
choice
and
multiple
select.
If
you'll
notice,
under
multiple
choice,
they
are
circles.
A
This
means
that
you're
only
going
to
be
choosing
one
answer
for
this
item
type.
If
you'll
look
below
under
multiple
select,
you
want
to
read
the
directions
carefully
because
they
may
say
select
two
details,
or
it
might
be
more
three.
Possibly
these
are
squares,
you're,
going
to
select
the
number
that
the
directions
are
telling
you
to
the
next
item,
type
that
we're
going
to
be
looking
at
for
the
park.
English
10
assessment
is
the
drag
and
drop
with
this
section,
you're
going
to
be
looking
for
the
blue
boxes.
A
With
this
example,
it's
listed
as
possible
supporting
evidence
here.
You
are
required
to
drag
these
blue
boxes.
Where
indicated
in
this
instance,
it's
under
supporting
evidence.
The
point
is
you're
trying
to
match
boxes
on
the
left,
with
the
drag
and
drop
on
the
right.
You
may
move
these
boxes
once
you
have
selected
them,
follow
the
directions
for
what
is
being
asked
of
you.
It
could
be
sequencing,
it
could
be
matching
evidence
to
statements.
Just
read
the
directions.
Did
you
get
that
down
now
we're
going
to
look
at
text
extraction?
A
The
next
test
item
you
may
encounter
is
text
extraction.
This
is
similar
to
the
drag
and
drop.
All
of
the
text
that
is
highlighted
in
the
blue
boxes
in
the
passage
is
a
possible
answer.
You
want
to
select
your
answer
from
within
the
text
and
drag
it
into
the
rectangle.
Once
you
have
selected
your
answer,
you
may
change
it
by
clicking
the
X
and
dragging
another
text
box
into
there.
A
Sometimes
you
might
see
the
answer
choices
as
part
of
the
question
just
to
from
the
blue,
highlighted
boxes
and
dragged
into
the
box.
The
next
item
type
that
we're
going
to
be
looking
at
is
text
highlighting
with
this
item
type
text
highlighting
anything
that
is
blue.
On
the
left
hand,
side
is
an
option
for
your
answer.
You're
going
to
need
to
click,
one
of
the
blue
highlighted
sentences
be
sure
that
you're
using
the
scroll
bar,
if
there
is
one
on
your
sample
item,
pay
attention,
because
it's
very
small
you
don't
want
to
miss
it.
A
Once
you
have
selected
an
answer,
you
may
change
it.
Just
click
on
a
different
text
that
is
highlighted.
This
item
type
is
a
little
tricky,
so
you
want
to
make
sure
that
you
pay
attention.
It's
called
tabbed
passages
the
next
item,
typed
tabs
passages
will
have
you
looking
at
multiple
passages.
In
this
example,
there
are
two
texts
that
you
must
read
before
addressing
the
question,
as
well
as
an
audio
clip
to
listen.
You
might
also
encounter
a
video
clip,
make
sure
that
you
click
through
each
of
the
passages.
A
Before
moving
to
the
answer
note,
the
scroll
bar
make
sure
that
you're
going
through
and
reading
all
of
the
passages
before
moving
on
to
the
question
on
the
right,
the
last
item
type
that
we're
going
to
be
looking
at
today
is
the
constructed
response
box
pay
close
attention,
because
there
are
a
number
of
tools
that
will
you'll
be
able
to
use
at
the
top
of
the
indicator
box.
We're
going
to
walk
you
through
those
so
that
you
know
exactly
what
is
being
asked
of
you
and
how
to
use
this
text
box.
A
And
now
the
moment
you
have
all
been
waiting
for
the
constructed
response.
Read
the
given
passages
on
the
left.
There
may
be
more
than
one
passage,
so
click
the
tabs
to
move
between,
on
the
right
hand,
side,
you'll
notice,
the
text
box,
underneath
the
given
question
don't
be
fooled.
You're
not
limited
to
the
space
that
you
see
as
you
type
the
box
will
expand.
A
The
tools
that
are
available
for
you
to
utilize,
as
you
are
testing
our
bold,
underline,
italics
bullets
undo,
redo
and
spellcheck,
know
that
there
is
no
cut
and
paste
option
if
you're
going
to
be
providing
direct
evidence
from
the
text
you're
going
to
have
to
type
that
that's
where
the
highlighting
can
come
into
play,
you
might
want
to
go
back
and
look
at
the
text
and
refer
to
those
highlights
and
type
that
information
when
you
click
spell
check.
Any
words
that
are
misspelled
will
have
the
red
squiggly
line.
A
Underneath
click
on
that
line
and
the
correctly
spelled
words
will
appear.
Multiple
words
may
appear:
make
sure
that
you
click
the
correct
word
you
are
trying
to
use
if
a
word
is
correctly
spelled,
but
not
in
the
dictionary.
It
may
also
get
the
red
squiggly
line.
Yuma
can
mark
this
as
correct.
Please
look
at
the
example.
Mrs.
Kakaako
is
a
teacher.
Mrs.
is
spelled
correctly,
but
has
a
misspelling
with
the
lowercase
right
click
select.
Mrs.
A
Kakaako
is
my
last
name.
It
is
spelled
correctly,
but
not
in
the
dictionary
right
click
mark
as
correct
I
hope.
You
learned
a
lot
today.
I'm
really
looking
forward
to
seeing
all
of
your
scores,
your
English
teachers
have
been
working
hard
with
you
all
year.
Try
your
very
best,
read
the
directions!
Take
your
time,
you're,
going
to
do
great!
Good
luck.
