welcome to let’s go to the library.

My name is angela nambiar and I work for the anne arundel county public library.

During these video-clips we will learn many things about the public library.

And how the library can help us in many ways.

Today we will have a field trip..
We will visit the odenton regional library.
A
So let’s get ready and let’s go to the library, to the odenton library.

The odenton library is located near the 170 and 175 intersection.
A
It was inaugurated in 2004.
A
Welcome to our official tour at the odenton regional library.
A
Remember we have 15 branches in our county., some bigger,, some smaller,, but all of them equally wonderful.
shall we start?.

This is the circulation desk..
It is here where we can check in and out materials.
A
The staff members will inform us about the dates in which we should return.
The materials,.
A
And are in charge of registering the materials under our account.
A

This is our meeting room.
here we offer several programs.
A
Reading clubs, author’s visits, special events, language learning, children’s early literacy programs.
A
Games movies, concerts exhibitions and much more in the building.
We display wonderful books...

Today I will take this… here we have the convenience center, fax,, scan,, copy, print….
A
Yes, here we can send faxes,, make photocopies, scan and print.
A
We are here at the children’s area, and my friend pete.
The cat will show you what we have here.
A
First of all,, there is a wonderful book collection.
A
Fiction or imaginary stories.
A
Non-Fiction or real stories.
A
Easy readers.
A
Popular stories and fairy tales.
A
Board books, concept, books, (numbers,, alphabet,, colors),.
A
We also have magazines, videos and dvd’s.
A
And something new…there are play aways..
A
These are devices with recorded books or videos, that children can listen to or see in any place because they only need batteries and headphones.
A
Some of the audios have a guide book, and the best thing is that we can also take them.

This is the play and learn station with interactive games in english and spanish.
A
And to finish, there is a play area with legos, puzzles and much more.
A

Welcome to the second floor, section for adults and teens.
A
Let’S see what we have in the adult collection….
A
Dvds and cds fiction books, non-fiction books, mistery books, reference materials, (almanacs,, atlases, ,, bibliographies,, biographies,, dictionaries, and encyclopedias in general).
A
Consumer information, materials, classical literature, romance books, large print materials.
A
Audiobooks magazines and newspapers: this is the information table.
A
We have friendly librarians that can assist us in finding information and who are always ready to answers, questions and clarify doubts….
A
Hello!- and this is the teen's area.
A
Mistery books, realistic fiction, historical fiction, science fiction, fantasy graphic novels and much more….
A
If you wish to work in a quiet area,, we have two silent, rooms.
A
We can’t even hear a fly….
A
We also have many computers.
A
19 in the computer, lab, 35 on the second floor and 12 in the children’s area.
A
These are the books that I will check.

And for this, I will use the self-checkout machine.
A

Remember the library is your home!.

We open monday through thursday, from 9am-9pm.
A
Friday and saturday from 9am-5pm.
A
And sundays the annapolis, glen burnie, odenton, crofton,, maryland city and severna park; libraries open from 1pm-5pm from september to may.
A
Thanks for accompanying me on this tour… and now I need to go home, because I have many books to read and materials to learn.
