Zika
virus
is
transmitted
by
mosquitoes
and
we
definitely
have
plenty
of
those
pests
in
the
county.
We
spoke
with
Arlington's
health
director,
dr.
ruben
varghese,
to
find
out
if
our
mosquitoes
pose
a
threat
and
what
we
can
do
about
it.
But
first
it's
National,
Poetry
Month
check
the
library's
website
for
a
list
of
events,
including
a
weekly
poetry,
booth
and
poetry,
readings
around
the
county,
we're
also
now
accepting
applications
for
the
first
official
Arlington,
County
poet,
laureate
to
promote
poetry
and
the
literary
arts
in
Arlington.

twelfth
Arlington's
crime
rate
is
down
for
the
second
year
in
a
row,
but
like
any
metropolitan
area,
we
still
do
have
some
incidents.

police
department
recently
partnered
with
bear
analytics
to
create
an
online
crime
map
called
raids
online.

means

season

even
more
important

infected
mosquitoes
in

or
the
DC
metro
area,
but
there
have
been
travel
association,
our
region,
the
two
species
of
mosquito
that
have
the
ability
to
carry
Zika
virus,
yellow
fever
and
Asian
tiger
mosquitoes
do
exist
here.
We
will

monitor

Zika
situation
and
we
recommend
you
stay
informed
as
