The Arlington County Civic Federation marked its 100th year of community service at a gala event in rosslyn to join one or more of the many civic groups that are dedicated to improving life for Arlington residents, go to civ, fed org, then click on members to see a list of the organizations and find one that interests you Arlington in the city of Alexandria have jointly constructed the four and a half mile transit way to connect the Crystal, City and braddock road metro stations by bus, wilmot, arundez new premium Metro way service in the dedicated lanes, which will reduce commuter Transit time.

It's truly an exciting day here in Arlington County, as we open the crystal city and Potomac Yard Transitway. This project was in partnership with the city of Alexandria and Metro to deliver the region's first right of way dedicated to premium bus service. This is a big day for Arlington. This is our first dedicated surface Transitway in the county and it's actually the first in the region to cross jurisdictional boundaries. So we're really excited to be here and why.

Is it so particularly important for Crystal, City and potomac yard.

Because it is actually connecting all these neighborhoods together, some of these neighborhoods were built around metro rail, but there are great distances in between, and so the intention of this facility and the service is really to provide it. Easy to use connection between our various neighborhoods in alexandria and arlington and.

What can riders expect? They.

Can expect reliable, frequent high quality service, we run every six minutes with our Metro a service, every 12 minutes off peak, which is very reliable service. It's like metro, rail and, as you can see, really attractive station amenities, large waiting areas, good weather protection, lighting, real-time transit information. Thank.

The Arlington Education Employment Program is celebrating its 40th anniversary, stop by the arlington mill community center on Friday April 29th from six to nine p.m. for food, music dancing and more. It's five dollars for adults and two dollars for kids learn more at the arlington public schools website, keyword reap and finally april is child abuse prevention.
