From YouTube: COVID Report from Aaron Miller, Director, Public Safety, Communications & Emergency Management
Description
Excerpt from Arlington County Board Meeting - November 17, 2020
A
Thank
you,
mr
manager,
and
good
afternoon
madam
chair
and
county
board
members.
I'm
sharing
my
screen
with
you
now,
because
I'm
going
to
go
through
some
updates
and
talk
about
some
of
the
case
rates
with
new
information
from
the
public
health
division.
So
as
the
manager
mentioned,
unfortunately,
arlington
county
is
seeing
a
rise
in
our
rate
of
transmission
of
covet
19,
as
is
the
greater
national
capital
region.
A
A
A
So
the
aggregate
rate
you
can
see
is
in
the
gray
trend
line
and
the
shading,
underneath
that
represents
the
the
entire
sort
of
life
cycle
of
the
pandemic
to
date,
groups
with
trend
lines
that
are
displayed
outside
of
this.
We
consider
to
have
an
increased
burden
of
infection
as
compared
to
the
aggregate
rate
rate.
A
A
Children
under
18
years
continue
to
have
minimal
case
activity
with
the
lowest
case
rates,
but
for
the
past
three
weeks
have
increased
to
its
highest
level
at
9.63
per
100
000
for
the
week
of
so
this
is
this.
Is
the
this
is
a
lagging
report,
so
this
is
the
week
of
november
8th.
Excuse
me
to
14th
adults
18
to
29,
initially
had
rates
lower
than
the
aggregated
rate
for
all
of
arlington
for
the
first
couple
of
months,
the
pandemic.
A
A
A
A
Last
week
we
saw
record
demand
for
sample
collection
at
both
the
arlington
mill
site,
as
well
as
the
north
quincy
sample
collection
site
that
the
county
operates
across
all
of
our
sources,
both
public
and
private,
we're
seeing
almost
4
500
pcr
tests
reported
to
the
public
health
division
during
the
last
few
weeks.
That,
as
you
can
see,
is
a
steady
increase
and
again
the
highest
number
reported
today.
A
To
date,
a
total
of
84
601
pcr
tests
have
been
reported
to
public
health
within
arlington.
Our
rolling
seven-day
test
positivity
is
up
to
6.8,
and
this
is
the
highest
test,
positivity
rate.
Seen
since
june.
Following
the
initial
downturn,
we
were
previously
averaging
three
and
a
half
to
four
and
a
half
percent
test.
Positivity
rates
for
september
and
october.
