Jessica Baxter investigates the 'Complete Streets' project on Washington Blvd.
A
Earlier
this
year,
the
county
had
an
extensive
public
process
to
transform
Washington
Boulevard
from
Sycamore
to
McKinley
Road,
to
make
it
more
of
a
complete
Street,
a
Street
that
accommodates
all
roadway
users,
including
drivers,
walkers
and
bicyclists.
Here,
to
tell
us
more
about
it
is
design
team
supervisor
dan
neighbors
with
a
transportation
division,
hi,
Dan,
hi.
B
Well,
what
we
were
able
to
do
through
remarking
and
restriping,
where
to
add
some
features
to
the
roadway
that
weren't
there
before
we
were
able
to
get
in
a
bike
lane
we're
able
to
enhance
the
pedestrian
crossings
and
even
enhance
some
of
the
turn
movements
for
vehicles
to
help
alleviate
traffic.
So.
B
B
M
had
a
community
meeting
where
we
brought
our
proposed
plans
to
the
community
and
got
their
feedback
on
what
their
needs
were
and
through
that
we
were
able
to
modify
the
design
so
that
it
was
a
design
that
again
created
a
safer
street
but
also
balance
the
needs
of
pedestrians,
bicyclists
and
motorists
so
that
we
have
hopefully
ended
up
with
the
best
project
we
could
to
load.
That's.
