Description
Jessica Baxter gives some stats on the work carried out by Arlington's Dept. of Environmental Services.
A
May
15
through
the
21st,
is
National
Public
Works
week.
So
what
does
that
mean?
Well,
the
association
of
Public
Works
uses
this
week
to
energize
and
educate
communities
across
the
nation
over
the
importance
Public
Works
plays
in
your
daily
lives.
So
to
celebrate,
let's
see
what
the
Department
of
Environmental
Services
has
been
up
to.
For
the
past
year,
we
milled
and
paved
approximately
ninety
two
of
our
974
Lane
miles
that
we
control
here
in
Arlington
County,
we
repaired
twelve
thousand
one
hundred
of
those
pesky
potholes,
and
so
far
this
year
it's
been
more
than
4,900.
A
We
rely
nearly
50,000
linear
feet
of
sanitary
sewer.
We
were
placed
approximately
three
miles
of
water
main
we
cleaned,
inlined,
2300,
linear
feet
of
water
main,
and
we
inspected
and
clean
57,000
linear
feet
of
storm
sewer
pipe
to
learn
more
about
the
work
that
we
do
make
sure
you
follow
us
on
Facebook
and
Twitter.
Thanks
for
tuning
into
this
street,
beat
we'll
see
you
next
time.
