From YouTube: Here/now: Iron & Steel
Description
This special segment of AVN's magazine show "Here/now" takes an in-depth look at Arlington's gift of World Trade Center steel, which was presented to us by FDNY on a very special weekend.
A
B
They
did
Shanksville
Pennsylvania,
where
united
flight
93
went
down,
and
so
there
was
only
natural
that
they
come
to
arlington.
I
think
between
us
there's
been
at
least
an
informal
bond,
a
real
connection
as
the
result
of
our
shared
911
experience.
So
the
fact
that
this
was
going
to
become
a
more
formal
relationship
through
this
gift,
it
meant
and
meant
a
great
deal.
A
B
C
Friday
morning
we
had
a
group
of
about
10
of
us
meet
here
at
the
fire
station.
We
made
the
trip
to
New.
York
I
had
the
opportunity
to
take
them
down
to
ground
zero,
a
lot
of
them
hadn't
been
there
yet
and
then
Saturday.
We
made
the
ride
down
here
with
the
with
a
larger
group
and
it's
you
know
it's
exhausting
it's,
but
it's
an
emotional
experience
and
at
the
end
of
the
day
you
sit
there
and
go
wow.
I
was
really
part
of
something
special
and
it's
all
worth
it.
D
It's
just
amazing
if
people
could
have
been
on
that
run,
it
was
just
so
patriotic
so
meaningful
the
left
Brooklyn
at
seven
in
the
morning,
every
single
/
pants
from
brooklyn
to
arlington
virginia
at
fire
trucks
on
the
overpasses.
You
know
his
American
flag
set
up
like
this.
No,
you
could
tell
guy
said
their
dress
blues
on
like
I.
Am
there
wasn't
a
random
pull
over
and
wave?
D
B
Precession
of
the
steel
was
a
solemn
occasion.
It
was
one
that
was
where
there
was
a
great
deal
of
reverence,
evident,
reverence
for
the
steel,
reverence
for
what
the
steel
represented
and,
at
the
same
time
it
was
this
great
celebration.
It
was
the
celebration
of
comrades,
you
know
a
celebration
of
what
life
as
a
firefighter
life
and
service
to
our
respective
communities
means.
D
B
The
the
steel
I
think
for
many
people
who
may
see
it
I'm
sure
that
they
are
struck
almost
by
the
fact
that
some
of
this
steel
still
exists
and
I
think
that
when
people
see
the
steel
and
understand
where
it
came
from,
and
perhaps
even
where
it's
going,
there's
a
connection
back
to
that
to
that
day,
and
it
begins
to
take
on
this.
This
meaning.
B
B
B
And
so
at
11am,
on
Sunday
morning
we
joined
with
our
brothers
and
sisters
from
fire
department
of
New
York.
It
was
really
a
a
rather
spectacular
seen
the
pageantry,
the
music
just
created
an
atmosphere
and
a
feeling
that
made
for
great
deal
of
emotion,
pay
for
a
great
deal
of
emotion.
It
was
a.
It
was
a
magnificent
and
remarkable
event.
E
A
E
B
One
of
the
other
bonds
that
exist
in
society
is
that
between
firefighters,
a
firefighter
can
walk
into
any
fire
station
anywhere
in
the
country
and
be
accepted
immediately.
Does
it
make
any
difference
where
they
are
or
where
they
come
from?
The
bond
is
that
strong,
the
bond
between
arlington
and
New
York
becomes
a
little
bit
stronger
today
through
the
work
of
Family
Foundation,
to
preserve
the
memory
of
those
that
made
the
ultimate
sacrifice
on
911.
D
It
just
carries
all
the
emotion
that
we
hope
they
would,
and
our
mission
here
is
to
honor
the
bravery
and
the
skill
and
performance
of
duty
that
knowledge
and
County
Fire,
Department
and
surrounding
departments
what
they
did
on
911
are.
Our
hats
are
off
to
them
so
from
one
department
to
another.
This
piece
of
steel
is
from
our
hearts
and
we
like
to
present
it
to
the
haunted
county.
Far
apart,
god
bless.
