Our
last

is

She
has

It
is
a
long

with
a
conventional
looking
snug

and
is
buttoned

On
the
left

the

men
falls

and
the
dress
for
the
woman

below
the
knees

are
worn
with
loose

and
in
the
past,
the
color
of
the
aoya
in
Vietnam
indicated
the
man's
position
in
society.
A
Thank
you
so
very
much.
This
has
been
a
truly
fun
and
very
emotional
project
for
all
of
us,
as
we
share
a
culture
with
you
now.
This
is
such
a
perfect
photo
opportunity
that
I
cannot
let
this
go
by
without
inviting
chair
chairman
of
Mr
Christian,
Dorsey,
Miss,
Marcy,
Foster,
Sergio
Chima
up
to
the
diet,
so
we
can
have
a
combined
photo.
A
A
A
A
A
Second
believe
in
yourself
apply
for
that
promotion
or
go
for
that
certification.
So
many
times
we
feel
we
are
not
qualified
enough.
We
feel
we
don't
speak
English
well
enough
or
we
can't
express
ourselves
as
well
as
the
other
person
but
believe
in
yourself.
You
can
do
it
so
give
yourself
this
opportunity
and
don't
let
yourself
doubt
hold
you
back
now.
How
can
allies,
managers
and
supervisors
provide
opportunities
for
our
Asian
and
bypoc
employees?
A
A
Second,
provide
an
environment
where
employees
can
feel
psychologically
safe
to
express
each
idea
and
opinion
when
individuals
feel
safe
employees
feel
free
enough
to
be
themselves
and
voice
their
thoughts,
be
Innovative
and
collaborate
with
one
another.
This
will
eventually
result
in
better
programs
and
projects
for
Arlington
and
its
residents
and
businesses.
B
Hi
everyone
welcome.
Thank
you.
Juan
I,
don't
know
how
many
of
you
know
this,
but
aha
members
spent
approximately
four
to
ten
hours
per
week,
depending
on
which
month
working
on
this
event,
so
I
think
another
round
of
applause
is
needed
for
that.
B
B
As
long
said
this,
this
month's
theme
is
advancing
leaders
through
opportunity
which
is
relevant
and
timely,
because
I'm
not
sure
how
many
folks
here
know,
but
according
at
least
to
one
non-profit,
which
is
a
pan-Asian
Global,
non-profit
called
the
Ascend
Foundation
Asian
Americans
are
the
least
likely
group
to
be
promoted
or
hired
into
Senior
Management
official
management
roles
or
senior
executive
roles.
This
is
based
on
EEOC
Workforce
data.
B
It's
actually
not
surprising,
if
you
think
of
the
reasons
and
the
first
of
those
is
sort
of
what
I
touched
on
last
year
for
the
same
event,
and
this
perception
that
seems
to
persist
that
Asians
are
foreigners
despite
being
here
for
centuries.
The
second
is
simply
the
demographics
right.
Asians
are
touted
Asian.
Americans
are
consistently
touted
as
having
greater
median
incomes
than
other
groups,
other
racial
groups
and
also
as
among
the
most
educated
among
racial
groups.
B
While
this
is
true
for
many
Asian
subgroups,
as
you
all
know,
the
category
of
Asian
contains
so
many
within
it,
and
it's
not
true
for
all
Asian
subgroups.
In
fact,
there's
some
significant
disparities.
If
you
look
particularly
in
the
in
the
income
area,
and
the
third
is
a
stereotype,
that
seems
to
also
persist
with
Asians,
and
that
can
be
one
of
you
know.
Asians
are
quiet,
they
work
hard,
they're,
not
rule
Breakers,
which
can
lend
itself
then
to
the
assumption
that
Asians
are
not
assertive
and
therefore
lack
leadership.
Skills.
B
So
to
that
I
would
say
a
few
things.
One
I
don't
think
Google
Zoom,
Microsoft,
PepsiCo
MasterCard
would
agree
if
you
look
at
their
current
or
former
CEOs
two,
even
if
that
were
true
for
a
few
Asians,
it
doesn't
necessarily
mean
that
every
Asian
has
that
a
characteristic
in
terms
of
being
silent
or
maybe
not
speaking
up
in
the
same
way,
but
three,
even
if
that
were
true.
B
What's
to
say
that
leadership
style
is
wrong,
simply
because
it's
not
what
we're
used
to
you
know
different
times
and
different
challenges
call
for
different
leadership
styles,
and
in
order
for
us
to
be
best
equipped
to
meet
all
of
our
challenges.
That
would
mean
that
all
times
in
all
places
we
need
all
leadership
styles.
B
So
what
can
we
do
to
get
there
as
managers?
We
need
to
be
open
to
commune
and
communicate
with
the
people
that
report
to
us
and
the
people
we
work
with
about
expressing
what
they
want
to
do.
Where
do
they
see
their
their
career
goals?
What
do
they
want?
What
do
they
want
to
be
doing?
Do
they
want
a
training
opportunity?
Do
they
want
coaching
mentoring?
B
You
know
and
challenge
your
own
assumptions
and
I'll
give
you
a
very
very
quick
example,
and
this
doesn't
have
to
be
based
on
race.
This
one
wasn't
last
year,
I
asked
our
team,
and
you
guys
know
we're
pretty
small
office
is
having
to
ask
a
question
saying
you
know:
how
do
you
guys
like
to
receive
appreciation?
B
I?
Would
try
really
hard
in
our
office
to
always
say
thank
you
to
everyone
that
works
so
hard
on
different
projects
and
I
usually
do
it
privately
and
in
team
meetings,
but
I
happen
to
ask
this
question
and
I
was
amazed
that
from
three
different
people,
I
got
three
different
answers.
Only
one
actually
had
the
same
style
as
me.
So
all
this
time
that
I've
been
saying
all
this
well.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
Thank
you.
B
You
know
it
could
have
been
perceived
as
well.
She
really
doesn't
appreciate
anything
I
do
because
she's,
not
you
know,
doing
X,
Y
or
Z.
That's
just
a
small
example.
I
think
we
identify
and
challenge
our
own
assumptions
about
ourselves
about
others
and
invite
them
to
express,
encourage
them
to
express
what
they
want
out
of
work
and
then
make
those
opportunities
available
so
give
those
people
on
your
teams,
opportunities
to
Showcase
or
acquire
those
leadership
skills
as
employees.
B
We
need
to
share
what
we
want
right,
so
we
need
to
also
identify
our
own
assumptions.
The
fact
that
a
manager
is
not
coming
to
you
and
offering
you
something
or
seeing
if
you're
interested
in
a
promotional
opportunity
does
not
mean
that
it's
based
on
race.
It
doesn't
mean
that
they
have
something
against
you.
It
could
simply
be
that
that
manager,
he
you
know
himself
herself
themselves-
is
an
introvert
right,
so
identify
your
own
assumption,
challenge
it
and
then
communicate
in
whatever
way.
B
You
feel
comfortable
with
whether
it's
one-on-one
or
a
team
meeting
go
and
share
what
you'd
like
to
be
doing
what
your
ideas
are,
and
so
with
that
I
will
conclude
my
remarks
and
wish
you
a
very,
very
happy
Asian,
American
Pacific,
oh
gosh,
I
always
screw
this
up
so
close
Asian,
American,
Pacific,
Islander,
Heritage
Month
and
invite
Chris
boardshare
Christian
Garcia
to
come
up.
Thank
you.
C
Well,
thank
you
gurjit.
Now
that
you
have
named
it,
I
will
now
Proclaim
it
so
for
this
it
is
my
pleasure
to
read
the
proclamation
for
Asian
American
and
Pacific
Islander
Heritage
Month,
but
let
me
just
first
give
another
shout
out
to
that
incredible
fashion
show
I
had
no
idea
what
to
expect.
C
C
This
vital
segment
of
our
community
has
contributed
to
the
prosperity
in
economic
well-being
of
Arlene
in
county
and
whereas
Asian,
Americans
and
Pacific
Islanders
have
brought
with
them
solid
family
values
and
marvelous
Traditions,
which
strengthen
the
very
fabric
of
our
society
and
whereas,
through
their
unquenchable
respect
for
Education
indefatigable
industry
and
persistent
drive
for
excellence.
Asian,
Americans
and
Pacific
Islanders
have
achieved
outstanding
individual
as
well
as
group
success
in
Academia
government
and
in
business.

Her
name
is

is
a

with
Arlington
economic

and
she
has
been
the

over
three
years
outside
of
her
work
with
Arlington
small
businesses.
C
is
an
active

the

notably,
she
recently
performed
her
first
headline,
so
at

in
collaboration
with
The

the
song

will
be
performing
for
aha
Proclamation
is
an
original
title.
Everything,
although
not
yet
publicly
released
it
is
the
song
that
promotes
self-love,
serves
as
a
reminder
to
those
who
listen,
that
they
are
everything
they
have
been
looking
for
and
everything
they
need.
E
You're
good,
don't
even
worry
about
it.
What's
what's
a
tech
thing
without
a
tech
issue,
right
like
it
has
to
happen,
and
then
it's
like
okay,
everything's
gonna,
be.

E
So
this
next
guest
I'm
incredibly
excited
to
bring
on
and
welcome
I'm
gonna
try
to
keep
it
not
personal
for
right
now.
So
this
next
person
is
someone
I've
looked
up
to
my
whole
life.
She
is
a
natural
born
leader,
even
though
I've
only
known
her
like
almost
25
years,
and
she
is
a
driving
force
and
everything
that
she
does
she's
very
passionate
about
service
about
helping
others.
E
She
came
to
the
states
when
she
was
14
and
she's
been
busting
her
behind
and
just
trying
to
help
everyone
as
much
as
she
can
trying
to
provide
opportunities
for
those
who,
maybe
don't
have
them
or
don't
have
access
she's
an
incredible
person
she's
my
best
friend
the
person
I've
looked
up
to
my
whole
life
and
that
I
love
and
I'm
so
grateful
for
and
if
you
couldn't
already
figure
it
out,
she's
my
mom
and
her
name
is
prabha
patari,
duja
and
I'm
very
excited
to
bring
her
on.
H
H
Coming
to
United
States
with
one
suitcase
I
know
from
personal
experience
how
difficult
it
is
to
get
a
chance
to
advance
in
life
in
the
United
States
I
always
wanted
to
ensure
my
future
consists
of
serving
others
and
providing
access
to
experience.
I
didn't
have
growing
up
so
as
more
Nepalese
American
populated
to
DMV
I
decided
to
take
initiative
and
find
my
way
to
serve.
My
community
I
began
my
journey
of
service
by
volunteering
with
American
Nepali
Society,
one
of
the
oldest
Nepalese
American
non-profit
in
United.
H
As
president
elected
of
the
previously
known
stated,
American
Nepal
Society,
it
was
opportunity
that
I
was
truly
able
to
space
for
younger
individual
for
volunteer,
learn
more
about
Nepal
and
our
culture
and
advance
in
whatever
way
they
want
to
students
from
elementary
schools
to
college
came
through
the
organization
and
volunteered
for
many
events,
some
would
simply
assist
signing
up
people
in
and
in
While.
Others
lead
full-on
project
like
working
with
Inova.
H
In
addition
to
sending
those
and
these
resources
back
home,
we
also
assist
in
implementing
things
like
clean
working,
water,
fountain
and
functioning
bathrooms
for
all
the
children's
and
genders
building
lasting
necessity.
Change
like
at
her
Sydney
Secondary
School.
It's
just
one
example
of
how
we
all
create
accessibility.
H
I
Well,
thank
you
very
much
Miss
batarai
for
the
wonderful
experience
of
immigrations
and
success
good
afternoon.
Ladies
and
gentlemen,
my
name
is

and
I'm.
The
compensation
analyst
in
the
human
resource
department
and
it's
now
I
have
the
honor
to
introduce
our
next

Miss
Sangeeta
puliguela
is

officers

the
department

Services.

the

of

2022
and
comes
to
us
with
extensive
background
in
it.
Sangeetha
brings
varied
experience
from
health,
education,
Federal
and
financial
sectors
spending
approximately
18
years.
I
She
has

master
degree
in
electrical
engineering
and
a
second
master
in
MBA.
Sangeetha
has
a
passion
for
supporting
Initiative
for
greater
diversity
and
inclusive
at
the
workplace,
with
help
Empower
co-workers
to
reach
their
full
potential
as
they
thrive
in
their
careers
and
motivated
to
diversity
and
Equity
to
others
within
the
community
and
Beyond.
I
J
J
Can
you
hear
me
yeah
good
afternoon,
everyone
first
of
all
thank
you
to
the
County
Board,
as
well
as
the
county
manager's
office,
for
this
opportunity,
and
thank
you
to
my
department
DTS
for
allowing
me
time
to
participate
through
such
ergs,
truly
truly
appreciate
it.
The
dance
I'm
going
to
perform
today
the
art
form
is
called
bharatanatyam.
This
is
over
2
000
years
old
art
form
around
the
turn
of
20th
century.
J
That's
it.
The
specific
dance
item
that
I
am
performing
today
is
about
Lord
Shiva.
He
is
one
of
the
trinities
of
the
Hindu
gods.
We
have.
The
Trinity
would
stand
for
the
Creator,
the
preserver
and
the
Destroyer
Shiva
is
called
The
Destroyer,
the
destroyer
of
evil
and
everything
negative,
and
this
form
the
devotee
is
explaining
his
appearance.
J
In
the
other
hand
where
in
which
he
is
controlling
the
chaotic,
sounds
that
might
disrupt
this
world,
he
is
also
releasing
his
hair
at
times
that
are
free,
free-flowing
and
at
times
tying
it
in
a
knot
and
allowing
the
water
to
freely
flow
down
to
the
Earth
from
the
heavens.
If
not,
if
he
doesn't
do
that,
the
water
will
come
gushing
down
and
destroy
the
world.
J
The
dance
also
describes
about
how
he
holds
a
hooded,
serpent,
the
Cobra
around
his
neck,
indicating
the
poison
that
he's
controlling
from
spoiling
this
world
and
all
the
goodness
in
it.
The
devotees
are
singing
his
praises
and
dancing
along
with
him
and
even
the
gods,
the
other
two,
the
Creator
and
the
preserver
are
also
dancing
to
his
rhythm
and
his
beloved.
His
wife
is
also
dancing
to
the
tunes
when
the
beautiful
bells
are
ringing
and
very
rhythmically
to
our
ears.
That
is
what
this
dance
stands
for.
J
So
bharatanatyam
is
a
way
of
spiritually,
as
well
as
aesthetically
describing
stories
in
accompaniment
of
the
music,
so
the
dance
that
I'm
performing
is
called
Ida
dupadam,
meaning
the
left
leg
raised
God.
Thank
you.
K
K

K
A
Thank
you
so
much
Sangeeta,
what
a
lovely
performance
and
storytelling
through
your
art.
Well,
that
was
the
last
performance
of
our
event.
However,
before
we
conclude,
I
do
have
some
upcoming
announcements
for
events
that
we're
having
throughout
the
month
of
May
the
next
one
is
May
18th
we're
having
a
book
discussion
with
co-authors,
constant
and
Kent
Matsumoto
on
their
novel
of
white
ashes.
A
It
is
inspired
by
true
stories
of
authors,
the
author's
parents,
both
of
whom
endured
unbearable
hardship
with
dignity,
while
they
were
in
the
Japanese
internship
camps
during
World
War
II
on
May
23rd,
aed's,
Biz,
launch
team
will
launch
and
organize
aapi
brunch
and
business
honoring
Asian
entrepreneurship
held
at
the
Hyatt,
Regency,
Crystal
City
and
then
finally,
on
May
31st.
We
will
close
out
the
program
and
have
an
event
at
the
Trade
Center.
It
will
be
a
fun
and
festive
and
Loud
event.
A
A
F
A
Many
County
employees
in
the

some
food.
