From YouTube: A Point In Time: Working to End Homelessness

Description

Follow volunteers and staff as they head out on a freezing January night to count people in Arlington County who are experiencing homelessness.

This annual event is part of a national Point In Time count that helps communities establish the dimensions of the problem of homelessness and help policymakers and program administrators track progress toward the goal of ending homelessness.

Arlington’s 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness was launched in 2008 with a consortium of more than 100 stakeholders from public, private and faith-based community organizations. The plan’s primary goal is that no individual or family shall lack access to decent, affordable housing.

The 10 Year Plan committees work in concert to ensure that available federal, state and local resources are used strategically to meet the needs of Arlington homeless households and those at risk of becoming homeless.
