Arlington County's look back at 2021

I'd ask that we take a moment of silence to recognize the absent members.
We've lost our sisters- brothers, mothers, fathers, daughters and sons, our grandparents, those who've left us this past year due to this terrible virus.

There's no easy way to go on, but we will go on.

And what is the current status of vaccinations in arlington?
What are we seeing.

Would say 50 to 75 of our staff each and every day are volunteers, and they are amazing.

And a band-aid to say we gave you.

When you get a vaccine, you they put a band-aid on your arm after you get that shot.
That band-aid comes from us that that wipe comes from us.
Those supplies come from us there's a lot more going on than the shot itself.

We are here tonight with some of our county's faith leaders to have an honest and open conversation about the impacts.

Even if you are vaccinated and you're still just not feeling well use those testing services know your status and help protect you, your members of family and the community.

That I have to remind people is it's open to all kids from anywhere that's going to be the case for all of virginia and the whole region.

This grant really does try to target those who have a physical bricks and mortar location.
We know that's a fixed cost every month, regardless of whether one customer comes in or not, and those expenses don't go away.

Arlington is going even greener, with the program to collect and recycle food scraps and turn it into compost.

The county board had asked me to lead a review that would look into the arlington county police department's practices.

When the arlington police showed up everything changed, and so I just want to say thank you not just us personally, but what you did to protect the edifice of our democracy.
