Description
Arlington County Parks and Recreation celebrated the reopening of the newly renovated Jennie Dean Park, an integral part of the Green Valley community for more than 75 years. Building upon its history and the community's love of sports and arts, the park has been transformed into an exciting place designed to celebrate the area’s past and cultural heritage, while increasing access to recreation and nature. https://www.arlingtonva.us/About-Arlington/News/Articles/2022/Arlington-Celebrates-Opening-of-Renovated-Jennie-Dean-Park
B
Jenny
dean
park
was
something
that
everyone
agreed.
We
must
actually
make
sure
that
this
park
is
invested
in,
so
that
it
is
equivalent
to
the
investment
that
we
have
throughout
arlington
county,
the
design
of
it.
My
goodness,
it
feels
like
this
huge
multi-acre
park
facility
also
feels
very
compact
and
usable.
C
We
have
two
diamond
baseball
fields,
one
of
them
is
adult
softball
field
and
the
other
one
is
for
a
variety
of
little
league
games
and
for
younger
kids,
but
we've
also
been
able
to
significantly
increase
the
size
of
our
playground.
We
have
a
two
to
five-year-old
playground
and
a
seven
to
twelve-year-old
playground.
We
have
some
public
art
that
was
part
of
the
project.
My.
C
We
have
a
shelter
with
a
green
roof
and
it's
very
large,
so
it
can
accommodate
all
kinds
of
gatherings,
cookouts
and
seating,
and
then
we
have
some
fun
what
we
call
adult
benches,
but
they
can
be
used
for
anybody.
Their
swings
that
the
families
can
get
on
and
enjoy
themselves.
C
We
work
with
the
community
almost
through
the
entire
process.
