A
You
know
we're
police
officers,
but
we
wear
different
hats
being
a
role
model.
You
know
primarily
for
the
schools
and
for
the
school
systems.
Educating
the
youth
about.
You
know
what
we
do
and
earning
that
trust,
because
the
public's
trust
is,
you
know,
a
big
part
of
what
we
do
and
so,
whether
it's
in
the
classrooms
or
even
during
lunch
time,
you
know
eating
lunch
with
the
kids
or
you
know,
meeting
what
teacher
is
about
lesson
plans
and
you
know
a
course
of
instruction.
That's
a
lot
of
what
we
do.
A
C
I
want
to
become
a
police
officer,
because
I
was
in
the
Marine
Corps
for
nine
years
and
I
served
the
country
and
I
want
to
serve
the
community
as
Hispanics
officer
build
that
relationship
between
the
Spanish
communities
and
the
police
departments.
I
think
is
a
little
barrier
between
Hispanics
communities
and
police.
So
I
want
to
be
part
too.
So
they
see
a
police
officer
like
Spanish
guy,
so
I
can
pretty
much
build
a
good
relationship
between
the
community
and
the
police
department.
C
D
Even
the
smallest
call
I
put
my
everything
into
that's
what
we
owe
our
community.
That's
what
they
expect
from
us
ever
since
I
was
released
off
field
training,
you
ride
solo
in
the
car
by
yourself.
The
good
thing
that
keeps
my
mom
at
ease
is
that
we
do
have
backup
right
there
with
a
small
County.
So
within
a
matter
of
seconds
or
minutes,
your
backup
is
there.
If
you
need
a,
never
a
doubt
that
there's
backup
that'll
be
right.
There.
D
Just
knowing
that
you're
making
a
difference,
whether
it's
taking
a
drunk
driver
off
the
street,
responding
to
an
overdose
and
saving
somebody's
life,
just
going
above
and
beyond,
to
restore
justice
and
show
people
that
we
do
care
just
really
making
that
difference
in
people's
lives.
When
people
ask
me,
how
is
it
being
a
police
officer,
I
tell
them,
I
have
the
best
job
in
the
world.
E
The
actual
skill
behind
riding
a
motor
and
the
way
that
we
ride
motors
is
pretty
important,
especially
with
you
know,
we're
right
doing
escorts
all
the
time
we
do
medal
of
honor,
but
a
lot
of
funerals,
whether
they're
local
funerals,
casinos
for
Arlington
National
Cemetery
when
we're
going
everyone's
looking
at
it.
The
whole
is
also
very
high
standard
and
our
motor
school
does
do
that.
We
work
all
over
the
place,
so
we're
in
DC
doing
escorts.
We're
in
Maryland.
Were
you
know
in
Fairfax
we're
now
it's
Andrew,
so
we're
always
working
with
other
agencies.
E
So
I
thinks
that
connection
when
you
get
that
at
the
Academy
is
huge,
because
if
you
work
in
this
area,
you're
not
gonna,
be
just
working
with
your
agency
or
going
to
work
with
multiple
different
agencies.
Just
because
there's
so
many
dammit,
the
community
is
really
important.
Every
interaction,
especially
when
I
wasn't
voting
it.
My
goal
was
always
at
the
end
of
a
traffic
stop
for
them
to
say.
Thank
you.
F
Another
officer
said
you
know,
as
a
smaller
woman,
how
do
you
avoid
getting
into
you
know
kind
of
violent
confrontations
with
people
instead,
it's
all
about
how
you
present
yourself
so
especially
for
me.
It's
very
important
with
how
I
talk
to
people,
because
I'm,
small
and
I
know
that
and
I
know:
I'm
not
gonna
want
to
get
in
a
fistfight
with
someone.
That's.
You
know
three
easily
three
times
my
size,
which
is
the
average
human
really.
E
I
think
that
if
you
become
a
police
officer,
it's
something
that
you
do,
because
you
want
to
be
a
part
of
something
that
you
know
that
stands
for
something
like
I
said:
I
was
just
trying
to
conditioning
coach
prior
to
this
and
I
play
baseball
and
throughout
my
life,
with
teams,
so
I've
always
been
kind
of
in
a
team
environment
throughout
my
career,
and
we
would
always
work
together.
You
know
to
accomplish
a
goal,
and
you
know
it's
each
individual,
but
it's
it's.
E
E
G
It's
really
intimidated
to
go
to
the
Academy.
I
was
really
intimidated
to
kind
of
jump
into
this
profession
and
I.
Remember
when
I
got
sworn
in
I'm
like
trying
to
hold
it
in
when
my
dad
was
putting
my
badge
on
me,
because
I
felt
it
was
such
a
big
accomplishment
that
the
police
department
and
the
public
were
really
putting
their
trust
in
me.
