From YouTube: Aging The Arlington Way
Description
Arlington County's Human Rights Commission hosted a panel on aging looking at the challenges seniors face, and offering resources to maintain and enhance their quality of life.
A
The
event
today
is
an
event
called
ageing.
The
Arlington
way,
looking
at
what
it's
like
to
grow
older
in
Arlington,
how
people
who
are
aging
in
our
county
can
have
access
to
benefits
that
help
them
age
here.
What
we
know
is
that
most
seniors,
no
matter
what
the
community
would
prefer
to
age
in
place,
meaning
they
don't
want
to
be
relegated
to
a
space
away
from
the
home
they've
been
living
in
maybe
some.
B

The
transport
is
a
very
important
piece
because
we
may
have
the
Arlington
mill
center.
Here.
We
have
a
variety
of
bus
routes.
This
is
one
Center,
but
just
to
get
to
the
center
may
be
a
challenge
for
as
we
get
older
or
for
people
that
we
all
have
always
had
a
physical
limitation,
but
there
are
ways
of
doing
it.
A
B
B
Think,
as
an
individual
we
can
do
is
let
the
county
know
what
we
need.
The
more
you
speak
up.
The
more
can
be
addressed
because
these
avenues,
Aging
in
Arlington
County,
is
full
of
healthy
options.
Choices,
there's
still
challenges
with
transportation,
there's
still
challenges
with
housing.
Getting
the
information,
we're
gonna,
be
able
to
find
those
solutions,
and
the
thing
is
to
look
to
the
county
and
see
how
I
can
get
more
information
and
see
if
the
county
actually
provides
that
service.
