From YouTube: Arlington Mill Community Center Groundbreaking
Description
The August 24, 2011 groundbreaking ceremony for the new Arlington Mill Community Center on Columbia Pike in Arlington Virginia.
A
B
C
Pike
initiative
is
intended
to
encompass
all
of
columbia.
Pike
from
you
know
the
pentagon
and
the
east
to
the
county
line,
and
a
lot
of
activity
of
course
has
already
occurred
at
the
east
end.
But
the
west
end
is
really
important
too,
and
there
are
a
lot
of
people
who
live
here.
This
is
a
very
dense,
diverse
community
and
for
a
long
time
have
needed
better
access
to
services,
and
so
this
this
center
is
going
to
help
provide
that,
because
there's
a
very
vibrant
community
here-
and
we
want
to
help
to
stay
strong.
C
D
This
building
will
be
a
destination
for
all
our
antonia's,
not
only
for
the
pike
residents,
so
you
will
be
able
to
bike
up
your
path
from
the
national
airport
up
to
route
66
already,
and
you
will
be
able
to
rest
here
to
come
to
the
community
center
to
attend
programs
to
attend
functions,
and
I
believe
that
this
will
in
in
a
sense
it's
another
project
that
connects
arlington,
both
east
west
as
well
as
north
south,
and
this
is
why
this
center
is
so
important
for
all
antonia.
So
not
only
for
bike
residents.
E
Well,
hit
construction
said
it.
They
anticipate
it's
going
to
take
20
to
21
months
for
construction,
but
we
may
be
able
to
move
in
before
the
end
of
that
time,
because
after
they
actually
construct
the
building,
they
will
be
doing
the
work
inside
and
hopefully
we
will
be
able
to
move
in
and
start
some
activities
before
the
end
of
the
21
months.
D
They
we
see
here
the
community
center
is
the
place
where
diversity
actually
happens.
You
see
it
on
the
street,
you
see
it
when
you
go
around
in
the
neighborhood,
but
in
the
community
center
you
actually
have
the
chance
to
meet
to
sit
to
share
a
project
with
your
neighbors
with
your
community
people
and
that's
that's
a
value
that
community
centers
deliver.
That
is
really
priceless.
