Effectively, what we're going to get here is a new entrance to the rosslyn station. We won't be solely dependent on the two escalators, which requires are enormously long. They'll still be there, but there'll be three high-speed elevators with high-capacity not like the elevators you're used to now that we're built with 70s. These elevators are larger and they're a lot faster, we'll be able to move something like 2,000 people in an hour through this new entrance with these new high-speed elevators. This project is key to the future development of Rosslyn.
It's a good investment for not only the people who live in the DC area, but for the country as well. We want to have a good and viable metro system if you want to understand why this is so important, just take a look at what's on the Roosevelt bridge, even at ten o'clock in the morning, with people waiting to cross these bridges to to get into Washington. So this is a. This is a benefit for everyone involved. I think, but.
Metro project and the monday properties project will take about three years and part of our purpose, and working here in Rosslyn is to help ensure a smooth transition. We want to be sure that people understand what is going to be at the end of minor and convenience, because the end product is going to be well worth waiting for afterwards.
This is really about improving access. I mean safety. The elevators will be high speed, high capacity three of them down to a new platform which will connect underground and, of course, in the in the next few years. We're also going to be redoing the whole inside of the metro station as a contribution from the building going up right across the street 1812 North more, which is the Monday properties pyramid, Monday.
Also real important to me as an Arlen tonian, because you know we spent a lot of years trying to transform Rosalind into something: that's not just tax base, but actually a great place where people want to be. It's been getting their little by little and it's a much more. You know vibrant exciting place now than it was a 15 or 20 years ago, but it can be so much more and I.
