To
this
edition
of
newsmakers
this
week
we
look
at
a
new
public
artwork
in
the
county
office
building,
etched
glass
conference
room
windows
located
where
they
can
be
seen
by
the
many
residents
and
visitors
who
come
here.
Every
day
we
visited
artist,
Lynn
Myers
in
her
studio
where
she
was
making
refinements
to
the
full
scale
digital
scans
made
from
her
original
small
ink
drawings.
Then.
A
C
C
And
originally,
when
the
lobby
was
renovated,
the
budget
included
some
artwork
as
well
as
a
film
for
these
windows,
that
in
the
conference
rooms
to
kind
of
decrease
distractions
for
people
meeting
in
the
conference
rooms
and
make
a
kind
of
alleviate
that
fishable
effect
that
we
feel
when
we're
using
these
conference
rooms.
So.
A
The
way
that
I
conceived
of
the
drawing
of
the
composition
was
that
areas
that
are
above
eye
level
are
clear
so
that
it
gives
a
sense
of
openness
without
giving
up
the
privacy
that
the
the
drawing
creates
for
people
inside
the
conference
rooms.
I
am
really
happy
with
the
results.
It's
so
different
than
other
work.
That
I've
done
I
mean
the
way
that
the
glass
is
going
to
look
in
the
end
is
has
a
really
different
feeling
than
other
work
that
I've
done,
but
I
still
feel
like.
B
D
Like
I
said,
it
gets
to
settings
a
light
in
the
dark,
I'm
doing
the
dark
first
and
then
once
this
goes
through
the
machine.
All
the
way
through
I
have
to
peel
off
all
this
white
and
run
it
through
again
light
that
way
you
get
the
two
shades
so
I
have
it
all
set
up.
You
can
watch
here
through
the
glass
once
it
goes
through
here.
A
D
C
And
one
thing:
that's
really
great
about
this
project
in
particular.
Is
it's
a
great
work
of
art
in
our
government
center,
where
all
kinds
of
people
come
here
to
vote,
to
pay
their
taxes
to
do
any
kind
of
interaction
that
they're
going
to
have
with
the
county
government?
And
so
it's
a
place
where
a
lot
of
people
will
see
the
artwork,
but
it's
also
a
functional
artwork.
It's
providing
something
that
we
needed.
C
A
Know
I
guess
I
would.
I
would
hope
that
people
would
spend
some
time
looking
at
the
work
and
you
know
I,
I
guess
I
would
think
that
it
would
have
some
sort
of
effect
on
the
way
they
experience
the
space
and
and
whatever
way
they
experienced.
The
space
would
probably
have
some
sort
of
effect
on
the
way
that
people
operate
in
the
space,
the
way
that
they
think
in
the
space.
