A
A
B
Years
ago,
the
leaders
of
this
community
created
a
smart
growth
plan
when
metros
going
in
that
was
to
be
built
out
over
40
or
50
years
and
has
helped
define
Arlington.
We
are
now
looking
at
the
next
opportunity
for
that,
and
that
is
creating
a
plan
for
our
energy
usage.
How
will
we
sustained
this
community
by
creating
a
plan
that
reduces
energy
use
and
protects
the
environment,
saves
money
in
the
process?
That's
what
we're
trying
to
do
now?
Not
many
communities
have
the
capacity
to
do
that.
Arlington
does
Arlington.
C
Counties
been
thinking
about
this
for
a
long
time.
We
pride
ourselves
in
some
of
the
environmental
work
that
we've
been
doing,
and
this
is
a
natural
next
step,
we're
going
to
try
to
roll
out
some
of
the
information.
We've
been
learning
about
different
ways
that
Arlington
County
can
generate
views
and
transmit
energy
for
our
community.
But
as
we
look
on
into
the
future,
we
know
that
energy
resources
are
going
to
be
diminishing
and
costs.
Energy
costs
are
a
huge
expense
and
those
costs
are
likely
to
go
up
over
time.
C
So
if
we
can
look
at
a
different
way
of
building
our
infrastructure
in
the
community
different
ways
of
making
energy
generation
more
local,
we
think
we
can
reduce
those
costs,
reduce
the
environmental
issues
related
to
that
and
generate
energy
locally.
So
it's
much
more
secure
source
of
energy
for
us.
If.

B
Citizens
create
the
culture,
create
the
impetus
to
inspire
us
and
hold
our
feet
to
the
fire
and
have
to
buy
into
this
today
is
their
day
to
catch
up
to
where
the
task
force
is
and
then
give
us
their
feedback
on
where
we
need
to
go
to
make
to
make
this
a
reality,
because
you're
not
going
to
just
talk
about
it.
The
goal
is
to
create
an
action
plan
that
will
roll
out
over
many
years.
Well,.
E
I
really
wanted
to
make
my
voice
heard.
I
thought
the
day
was
great.
I
thought
the
the
county
staff
was
very
open
in
hearing
everybody's
suggestions
and
recommendations,
so
the
exercises
were
great
that
were
designed
to
draw
out
I
felt
what
was
important
to
the
community,
and
overall
community
involvement
seem
to
be
terrific.
It.
F
Is
a
great
day
to
be
outside,
but
it's
a
good
day
to
be
inside
to
talk
about
sustainability
and
how
Arlington
can
move
forward
and
becoming
an
even
more
green
community.
I
choose
to
live
in
Arlington
because
it's
a
livable
community,
but
there
are
things
that
we
can
continue
doing
to
further
evolve
and
refine
our
community.
Okay
max
the.
