Distinguished

community,
honored
guests,
friends
and
family
members,
thank
you
for
joining
us
this
morning.
Today,
we
solemnly
gather
to
remember
the
brave
men
and
women
who
lost
their
lives
while
in
the
performance
of
their
official
duties,
when
a
police
officer
is
killed.
It's
not
just
one
agency
that
loses
an
officer,
but
an
entire
nation.

We

here
today,
next

arlington's

our
seven

which
serves
as
a

special
police

placing

for
the
peace
and
security
of
the

I'll
read
the
the
proclamation
very
briefly
a
couple
of
recitals
and
then
present
to
chief
pen
and
sheriff
arthur,
whereas
the
crime
law
of
1994
permits
united
states
flags
at
all
government
buildings
to
be
flown
at
half
staff
in
honor
of
peace
officers
memorial
day
and

unconditional
sacrifices

21
thousand

whereas,
on

day,
the
arlington

board
and

We
serve.

For
some
is
a
week
of
mourning
morning.
The
619
names
that
we
just
engraved
on
the
memorial
wall
two
weeks
ago
for
some
is
a
week
of
honor
honoring,
the
23
220
names
engraved
on
the
memorial
wall
and
for
some
it's
a
week
of
incredible
celebration
for
an
incredible
profession,
with
incredible
and
amazing
men
and
women.
H
H
H
In
fact,
some
law
enforcement
said
I'm
not
coming
back
and
I'm
not
bringing
my
family,
because
why
would
you
spend
one
square
inch
in
this
building
talking
about
brutality
or
corruption
when
there's
so
many
other
stories?
To
tell
I
want
you
to
know
that
during
covid,
all
of
those
exhibits
came
down.
H
H
I
encourage
you
to
come
because
as
law
enforcement
officers,
I
promise
you
after
watching
that
film,
you
will
feel
feel
so
incredibly
honored
and
when
you
bring
your
family
to
sit
next
to
you,
they're
going
to
feel
so
proud
and
if
you're,
not
law
enforcement
or
family
to
law
enforcement.
You're
going
to
wish
you
were,
I
invite
all
of
you
to
come
to
our
campus.
If
it's
not
this
week
in
the
coming
weeks
and
feel
the
honor
that
exists
for
you
there.
