From YouTube: A Celebration of Digital Inclusion
Description
The digital divide is a barrier to education, employment, and overall well-being. the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing, in partnership with Arlington County, has piloted a program to increase digital inclusion for our residents. APAH was awarded a $90,000 grant two years ago by Arlington County to create this initiative and to change internet and technology accessibility. APAH residents, including Arlington Public School students, have greatly benefited from this program.
B
So
I
am
thrilled
that
we
have
this
pilot
program,
utilizing
an
Arlington
asset
connect
Arlington
that
we
can
make
available
in
a
truly
targeted
way
to
do
the
most
good.
To
me,
that
is
the
essence
of
what
government
is
about.
It's
also
the
essence
of
what
equity
is
about
delivering
to
people
what
they
need
when.
A
They
need
it,
so
a
big
part
of
that
is
the
partnership
with
the
county
and
really
their
vision
and
commitment
to
viewing
our
community
through
an
equity
lens
and
a
lot
of
what
made
this
possible
was
a
ninety
thousand
dollar
grant
that
the
county
awarded
us
to
roll
out
this
program.
So
I'd
say
the
the
County
Arlington
Public
Schools
and
all
of
our
other
partners
were
really
critical
in
allowing
us
to
roll
this
out.
