Ever wondered: what's involved in adopting a street, find out how ace and gmu do it they were homeless or close to it find out how these guys could be making soup for you, businesses are turning green. The county board recognizes arlington's greenest and keep up to date about h1n1 with the county's 2009 flu forum.

Adopter street is designed to support litter control and storm water management throughout arlington individuals or groups may adopt a specific section of road pledging to keep the street curb and storm drain free of trash and debris for a commitment of one year.

Welcome everybody. um My name is eleanor hodges, I'm with arlen tony we're here today to do a clean up with arlen tony and for clean environments, adopt the street section of columbia, pike, we're having volunteers work on picking up lease and debris.

Part of alpha phi omega we're a co-ed service. Fraternity today is just one of our many service events that we do.

We've seen a lot of things ranging from food wrappers to cigarette butts uh old newspapers, things like that and stuff plastics glass things that aren't really biodegradable.

I feel like if people just kind of pitched in then this kind of thing wouldn't be necessary, but because we like we're doing this, so that we can help with the environment and kind of clean up the things that that aren't biodegradable and things that we that we don't want in our water supply.
