A
Hello,
I'm
Tara
miles
and
I'm
with
Arlington
economic
development,
and
this
is
Arlington's
business
tips.
Today,
we're
going
to
be
speaking
with
Suzanne
McGrath
from
the
curious
grape
and
she's
going
to
give
us
retail
tips
on
how
to
launch
a
successful
email
campaign.
Suzanne
you've
had
great
success.
Launching
your
email
campaign.
Can
you
give
us
the
steps
on
how
it
was
done.
B
Sure
the
first
thing
that
you
need
to
do
is
start
collecting
email
addresses
and
that,
fortunately,
is
the
easiest
part
of
the
process.
Obviously
you
have
people
coming
into
your
business,
who
are
interested
in
what
you
do
and
the
products
that
you
have.
So
you
want
to
make
sure
that
you
give
those
people
an
opportunity
to
sign
up
for
your
email.
You
can
do
that
right
at
the
register,
with
a
simple
chord.
B
For
example,
we
just
put
this
right
at
the
register
and
then
the
most
important
thing
is
that
your
staff
should
be
trained
to
invite
everyone
who
comes
in
to
sign
up
for
the
email
and
let
them
know
what
the
content
of
the
email
is
going
to
be,
that
it
has
information,
that's
useful
to
them
and
interesting
to
them
that
they
can
receive
on
a
monthly
basis
or,
however
often
you
decide
to
do
it.
The
second
step
in
setting
up
an
email
program
is
figuring
out
how
you're
going
to
go
about
distributing
the
emails
and
their.
B
That
actually
do
that
for
you,
but
a
lot
of
people
don't
realize
is
that
your
everyday
email
provider
isn't
really
set
up
to
allow
you
to
send
out
emails
to
hundreds
of
people
at
one
time,
they'll
actually
filter
out
those
large
batch
emails
as
spam.
So
you
have
to
get
some
type
of
a
service
provider
who
will
basically
pass
those
emails
through
to
your
customers.
B
The
third
step
is
the
most
important
step
and
that's
developing
the
email
content,
the
most
important
thing
about
developing
a
successful
email
plan
where
people
are
really
going
to
continue
to
want
to
receive
your
email
and
not
ask
to
be
removed
from
the
list
is
providing
content.
That's
interesting
and
informative
to
the
consumer.
B
What
you
want
to
do
is
really
two
things
number
one
create
excitement
about
the
business
and
the
products
that
you
offer,
and
the
second
thing
is
you
want
to
make
yourself
an
expert
in
the
field
that
you
are
in,
so
that
people
think
of
you
first
before
they
think
of
anyone
else
in
that
field,
and
that
leads
into
the
final
step
in
developing
your
email
process,
which
is
simply
monitoring
your
success
and
decided
whether
or
not
you
want
to
modify
your
email
newsletter.
For
example,
are
you
sending
it
out
too
often?
B
Are
you
sending
it
out
in
less
frequently,
and
you
can
decide
based
on
your
customers,
reactions,
whether
they're,
taking
advantage
of
the
promotions
and
sales,
whether
they're
commenting
to
you
that
they
enjoy
receiving
the
newsletter?
And
then
you
can
decide
whether
you
want
to
modify
the
content
or
at
the
frequency
with
which
you're
sending
it
out.
Thank.
