A
Welcome
to
the
Great
River
Road
Museum
and
had
houma's
house
and
Gardens
and
happy
National
travel
and
tourism
week
thanks
to
Kevin
Kelly
for
hosting
us
today,
Parish
President,
Clinton
and
lieutenant
governor
Billy
nungesser,
as
well
as
all
of
my
board
members
and
all
of
you,
our
guests
and
Friends
of
Tourism.
Here
today
in
celebration
of
national
travel
and
tourism
week,
it.
B
Has
become
obvious,
Ascension
is
one
of
the
fastest
growing
parishes
in
the
state.
It's
a
place
where
people
want
to
be.
They
want
to
live
shop
here
and
work
here
and
more
and
more.
They
want
to
visit
here.
Why
the
secret
to
Our
Success
is
no
secret
is
because
we're
blessed
with
an
ideal
location
between
Baton,
Rouge
and
New
Orleans
right
along
the
Mississippi
River
abundant
resources
and
people
who
know
what
true
Southern
Hospitality
means.
B
A
B
That,
at
least
until
someone
at
1001,
Capital,
Access,
Boulevard
Road,
would
add
capacity.
Should
you
happen
to
know
anyone
in
the
future
that
lives
there?
We
would
appreciate
a
commitment
now
back
to
the
real
reason
why
we're
here
today,
we've
all
been
working
together,
really
hard
to
make
Ascension
Parish
the
Louisiana,
sweet
spot
and
I
welcome
anyone
to
come
and
visit
and
see
all
the
remarkable
tourism
opportunities
throughout
our
Parish.
Thank.
A
You
happy
National
travel
and
tourism
week
thanks
to
the
lieutenant
governor
for
making
a
stop
with
us
during
this
special
week.
During
the
beginning
of
covet.
In
late
2020,
we
launched
our
new
brand
Louisiana
sweet
spot,
a
mix
of
history
and
culture,
the
fusion
of
diverse
influences,
sweetens,
the
area's
Rich
history
of
Agriculture,
art,
Music,
Folk
and
culinary
traditions
and
Heritage
nestled
between
Baton
Rouge
and
New
Orleans
Ascension
Parish
is
truly
Louisiana.
A
Sweet
spot
houma's
house
is
an
important
part
with
the
sprawling
ancient
Oaks,
alongside
the
beautiful,
mythical
Mississippi
River
that
transports
you
back
to
the
past.
You
can
now
enjoy
the
scenic
view
of
the
river
and
welcoming
cruise
ships
at
The,
Sweet,
Spot
Landing
here
on
the
property
and
now
I'd
like
for
you
to
help
me
welcome
our
greatest
tourism,
Ambassador
and
lieutenant
governor
Billy
nungesser.
C
And
I
will
help
you
with
those
Road
improvements.
It's
so
important
to
tourism.
Vietnam
here
is
one
thing
getting
them
around.
We've
got
our
challenges.
Thank
you
all
for
being
here
today.
You
know.
Coming
into
this
year
before
covet,
we
saw
five
record-breaking
years
in
tourism.
In
2019,
over
50
million
people
visited
a
little
Louisiana
Left
Behind
1.9
billion
in
taxes
a
little
over
1100
per
Louisiana
family
that
you
and
I
didn't
have
to
pay
and
I'll.
C
C
Take
that
long,
we're
looking
forward
to
a
great
year
this
year
we
did
some
incredible
things:
partnering
with
all
our
partners
around
the
state
and
there's
a
lot
of
Grants
out
there
through
the
state
tourism
office
to
help
you
make
sure
every
event
you
have
and
host
will
be
a
huge
success.
As
a
matter
of
fact,
I
told
many
of
the
fair,
the
festival
people
we'll
guarantee
it.
C
So,
whatever
we
got
to
do
to
push
it
out
through
social
media
advertising,
we're
going
to
make
sure
that
they
really
knock
it
out
the
park
now
I
understand
with
the
Strawberry
Festival
we
might
have
did
too
much.
They
had
to
close
the
interstate,
so
we
might
have
put
a
little
too
much
pressure
on
our
marketing
team,
but
we
want
to
be
there
to
support
every
event
because
Mr
President,
your
team
here
really
Embraces
tourism,
and
we
want
to
make
sure
we
do
absolutely
everything
we
can
to
help
every
business,
restaurant
and
attraction.
C
Getting
back
open
is
only
part
of
it.
We've
got
to
help
them
get
back
to
making
money,
and
we
know
many
of
the
them
do
not
have
the
money
for
marketing
and
that's
where
we
want
to
fill
that
Gap.
Once
again,
I
see
everybody
waving
the
fans
Kevin.
Thank
you
for
hosting
us,
and-
and
thank
you
all
for
being
in.
Thank
you
what
you,
what
you
do
for
tourism.
D
Wow
look
at
this
when,
when
Billy
pulled
the
curtain
for
the
sign
over
there,
the
sun,
when
Billy
dedicated
the
sign
for
The
Sweet
Spot
when
he
pulled
the
sheet
down,
the
sign
almost
came
with
two
light
poles.
So
if
you
pull
this,
pull
that
drape
up,
hopefully
we
don't
I'll,
take.
