Description
Recreation Committee - July 14, 2022
A
They
showed
us-
oh
sorry,
we're
yeah.
We're
ready,
call
to
order
this
meeting
of
the
recreation
committee
on
july
14th,
mr
secretary,
everybody
is
here,
except
for
councilman,
turner
and
coach
is
going
to
go
ahead
and
leave
us
in
the
invocation
and
pledge.
B
Your
mind:
let's
bow
ahead
father
god
once
again
become
lord
with
a
bow
down
head
and
yes,
lord,
with
a
forgiving
heart,
we
come
tonight
to
truly
say
lord.
We
thank
you
once
again
to
allow
us
to
assemble
ourselves
here
and
to
take
care
of
recreation,
business
father
we
come
to
say
thank
you,
lord,
for
ascension
parish.
B
Thank
you,
lord,
for
each
and
every
person,
that's
under
the
sound
of
my
voice.
Oh
father,
we
ask
that
you
guide
us
through
this
meeting,
protect
us
shield
us
and
direct
us
and
lord
god,
as
we
leave
this
place
tonight.
I
ask
lord
that
you
allow
each
of
us
to
get
home
safe
and
sound
to
our
families.
In
your
name,
we
pray,
amen.
C
A
For
all
okay,
thank
you
so
much
coach
for
that.
We
appreciate
it
so
public
comment.
You
can
tell
there's
a
ton
of
people
here,
so
if
anybody
walks
in
from
the
public
that
has
a
comment
on
any
of
our
general
business
items,
please
see
miss
michelle
and
she
will
help
you
get
the
appropriate
slip
director's
report.
Mr
king.
A
D
Everybody
going
to
try
to
be
pretty
brief.
I
know
it's
been
a
while
since
we've
we've
met,
so
I
just
want
to
kind
of
go
through
a
few
things
that
we
have
on
this
jarius.
I
don't
have
any
presentation
for
this
right
now
so
just
spring,
sport
updates
we've
wrapped
up
all
the
softball
baseball
in
the
parish,
so
between
us,
aysa,
softball,
ap,
baseball,
west
ascension
baseball.
D
We
all
we
ended
up
with
over
1500
kids
participate
in
this
spring,
so
those
are
pretty
good
numbers
for
us
through
those,
and
you
know
getting
out
the
all
of
them
getting
being
able
to
get
feedback
on
what
we're
doing
and
hearing
from
the
folks
that
are
out
there
on
the
ground
running
everything.
D
Everything
seemed
to
run
really
well
this
year
and
improvement
over
the
previous
years
as
well,
not
just
in
numbers
not
just
in
the
fields,
but
also
in
kind
of
how
the
program
itself
was
going
and
how
all
the
kids
are
progressing,
how
the
coaches
are
doing,
and
things
like
that
west
ascension
baseball.
I
got
to
go
out
to
their
championship
games
with
coach
the
other
night
they
wrapped
up
last
thursday.
Things
were
great.
All
the
you
can
tell
the
the
program
coordinator,
the
the
league
coordinator,
jerry
butler.
D
D
D
We
got
a
little
surprise
part
way
through
the
year
and
ended
up
being
asked
to
host
the
little
league
district
2
tournament,
which
was
a
big
ass
for
us.
We
weren't,
really.
We
didn't
think
we
were
ready
to
do
it
yet,
but
we
didn't
have
much
of
a
choice,
because
we
were
about
the
only
option
at
that
point.
D
So
we
ended
up
doing
that
and
everything
was
just
amazing,
and
so
I'm
going
to
talk
to
you
a
little
bit
more
about
the
field
prep
and
our
team
and
how
all
those
things
went
a
little
in
another
section
here
in
a
minute,
but
it's
great
to
see
that
we're
being
able
to
host
things
like
this
and
that
we're
already
having
success
at
the
little
league
level.
D
Eight
of
our
teams
have
gone
on
to
the
state
tournament
which
starts
tomorrow
in
broussard,
and
I
mean
we
actually
won
some
games
this
past
at
the
district
tournament
beat
one
of
the
reigning
little
league
world
series
champs
in
east
bank
new
orleans,
so
we
got,
we
got
a
win
over
them,
unfortunately
lost
the
next
two
games
to
them,
but
still
got
one
still
got
one
on
them,
so
it
was
pretty
good.
We're
we're
not
far
away
from
being
able
to
compete
a
lot
there.
D
So
just
a
little
another
quick
upgrade
update
on
park
upgrades
upcoming
projects.
I
know
we
we've
talked
about
doing
more,
getting
or
not
getting
away
from
what
we
do
with
sports,
but
adding
extra
things
to
it.
But
first
we
want
to
make
sure
that
we're
taking
care
of
what
we
do,
a
lot
of
which
is
sports,
specifically
baseball
softball.
So
you're
gonna
notice
see
some
noticeable
changes
in
the
parks,
especially
with
backstops.
That's
going
to
instantly
make
things
look
better.
D
We
had
a
lot
of
damages
with
hurricane
ida
and
then
the
ones
that
weren't
damaged
are
still
old
and
need
some
replacing.
So
we've
got
about
18
backstops
that
we're
working
to
get
replaced
throughout
the
parish
at
all
of
our
big
complexes
and
that's
going
to
end
up.
You
know
we're
talking
the
tournament
style,
backstops,
brick
walls,
nets,
things
like
that,
so
we're
we're!
D
That's
gonna
immediately
improve
the
look
plus
the
field
work
that
we've
been
doing
at
some
of
the
parks
we
started
at
stevens
to
get
it
ready
for
little
league,
we're
gonna,
move
on
to
making
a
few
improvements
at
butch
core
and
in
donaldsonville
at
the
south,
louisiana
fairgrounds,
and
then
also
a
few
things
for
paula
park
and
so
you're
going
to
see
an
improvement
in
the
field
work
while
we're
at
all
that
we're
going
to
go
ahead
and
start
addressing
some
drainage
issues
to
help
dry,
our
surfaces
better
and
set
the
scene
for
as
we
transition
to
some
turf
with
some
of
these.
D
So
you
will
also
be
seeing
some
of
the
first
turf
fields
at
ascension
parish
parks
this
year
and
so
then
more
to
come
next
year.
We'll
try
to
round
those
out
in
the
next
few
years.
It'll
help
us
with
all
the
rain
we
get
during
baseball
season
and
softball
season
to
get
some
more
games
in
and
hopefully
that
that
helps
us
as
we're
going
forward
all
right
and
then,
of
course,
you've
probably
seen
on
the
agenda.
We
have
the
american
rescue
plan
projects
that
we're
gonna
discuss.
D
So
that's
gonna,
add
quite
a
bit
more
in
terms
of
large
scale,
construction
projects
that
we
have.
I
won't
still
ricky's
thunder
on
that
I'll.
Let
him
keep
going
so
we'll
come
back
to
that
for
sure
in
a
little
while,
as
well
as
some
playground,
replacements
and
and
improvements
on
that
nature,
so
getting
some
actual
park,
not
ballpark
park
upgrades
as
well
we're
going
into
that
to
that
realm.
D
So
over
the
next
the
rest
of
this
year,
we've
got
quite
a
bit
going
on
with
all
that
and
we
couldn't
do
any
of
this.
Without
our
grounds,
maintenance
team-
and
I
just
I
gotta-
take
a
moment
to
shout
out
our
entire
team
and
everything
they've
been
doing.
They
absolutely
crushed
it
at
the
little
league
tournament
and
then
they've
done
a
ton
of
work
of
getting
things
ready
at
all
the
other
parks
and
stevens
in
particular.
They.
D
You
know
that
was
kind
of
where
we
started
and
then
we're
going
to
kind
of
progressively
go
around
and
get
them
back
to
where
we
need
to
to
get
everything.
But
I
I've
received
more
compliments.
Well,
they
have
received
more
compliments.
I've
just
been
hearing
about
it
on
those
fields
than
I've
ever
they're,
saying
they're
the
best
they've
ever
looked
so
we're
excited
about
one.
What
that
means
about
those
fields,
but
also
what
it
means
for
everything
else
that
we're
going
to
be
doing.
So
I
expect
I.
E
D
All
of
our
fields
look
like
that,
and
so
I
guess
now
is
a
really
good
time
to
introduce
our
new
grounds.
Maintenance
supervisor.
Mr
jeff
sanders
he's
right
here
with
us
tonight,
wanted
to
make
sure
you
all
got
a
chance
to
see
him
say
hello.
I
know
a
lot
of
y'all
knew
dirk
beforehand.
That
was
in
his
in
his
position.
Well,
dirk's,
going
back
to
the
private
sector
and
we
have
jeff.
Jeff
brings
a
ton
of
experience.
D
He
is
an
ascension
parish
resident
and
he
he
comes
from
breck
as
well,
where
he
was
an
assistant
director
in
park
operations
and
he
was
responsible
for
all
the
sports
turf
grass,
all
the
sports
complexes
and
all
the
parks
in
the
south
south
of
the
parish,
so
he's
got
a
ton
of
experience
with
that
and
then
don't
even
get
started
talking
to
him
about
golf
course.
D
D
So
yeah
he's
a
really
good
guy.
The
team's
working
really
well
and
I
feel
really
confident
about
where
we're
headed
as
we
transition
from
you
know,
just
kind
of
maintenance
and
grass
cutting
into
sports
turf
grass,
specialists
and
and
working
on
manicured
fields,
as
opposed
to
just
you
know,
cutting
grass
and
getting
them
playable
awesome.
So.
C
D
There
there's
again
more
to
come
with.
That,
too,
is
we're
gonna
as
we
add
these
projects
and
do
more
and
focus
more
specifically
on
the
sports
side
of
things
with
them.
We
also
need
more
people
to
focus
on
parks
that
don't
necessarily
have
ballparks
all
these
other
amenities
that
we
need
to
look
at
some
certified
playground,
safety
inspectors
and
different
things
of
that
nature,
going
going
and
making
sure
we're
taking
care
of
that.
So
there
are
also
some
training
opportunities
coming
up,
which
we
will
definitely
be
taking
advantage
of.
D
For
those-
and
I
mean
that's
just
what's
coming
up
we're
talking
about
some
of
the
current
and
completed
projects,
I
mean
I've
jeff's
already,
given
me
a
list
of,
I
think
it's
at
least
50
projects
that
are
current
or
just
about
to
happen.
These
are
just
small
site
work
projects
plus
over
a
hundred
that
we've
already
completed
in
the
last
few
months,
so
we
are
busy
busy
busy
at
work.
So
yeah
just
cannot
say
enough
good
things
about
them.
D
D
I
have
another
item
in
here
on
the
agenda:
it's
talking
about
rental
policy
and
procedures
that
really
should
have
been
a
bit
more
about
the
tpar
registration
system,
the
procedures
for
that
and
the
policies
that
we've
lined
in
with
that.
So
I'll
save
most
of
what
we're
going
to
talk
about
with
that
one.
But
we
are
fully
live
for
facility
reservations
as
of
this
past
monday
july
11th.
So
starting
now,
you
can
reserve
any
of
our
community
centers
and
start
for
september
onward.
D
Again,
that's
not
our
sport
programs
they're
still
going
to
run
the
way
that
they
have,
but
we're
going
to
go
ahead
and
start
adding
some
wellness
programs
going
on
there
and
actually
that
kind
of
leads
us
into
the
direction
forward
with
health
and
wellness.
So
y'all
heard
me
say
it
time
and
time
again
we're
not
just
sports
right.
So
we
play
a
key
role
in
the
health
and
wellness
of
our
community.
We
want
to
make
sure
that
we're
getting
out
there
and
promoting
that
offering
programs
offering
classes
that
support
that.
D
E
D
Making
ourselves
known
that
we
are
going
to
be
a
key
piece
of
this,
we're
aligning
with
national
recreation
and
park
association
and
some
initiatives
that
they
have
in
terms
of
working
with
partners
to
create
community
health
and
wellness
hubs.
So
now
we're
a
piece
of
this:
it's
not
just
your
hospital
systems.
Things
like
that!
We're
all
involved
in
this
together
and
as
you'll
see
some
of
the
events
that
we're
planning
are
addressing
wellness
health.
D
The
programs
are
doing
the
same
thing,
so
we're
really
trying
to
make
sure
that
there's
a
space
for
everybody
I
do
want
to
also
make
known
that
july
is
parks
and
rec
month.
That
is
a
national
recreation
and
park
association
initiative,
and
we
are
promoting
that
so
you'll
probably
see
a
few
things
going
out
about
that
probably
already
have
with
our
social
media
this
month
and
look
to
see
some
more
of
that
and
some
more
announcements
coming
on
programs
and
things
like
that
throughout
the
month
that
we're
going
to
be
offering.
D
The
season
is
going
to
be
starting
in
at
the
end
of
august,
with
practice
and
then
in
september,
with
games,
west
ascension,
flag,
football
registration
is
on,
it
has
started
its
ongoing.
There
is
a
clinic
tomorrow
at
six
o'clock
and
they're
going
to
be
taking
more
registration,
then,
and
ap
baseball
begins,
their
fall
ball
registration
august
1st
and,
I
believe,
they're
starting
in
september
as
well.
D
Two
quick
events
that
are
coming
up-
one
is
july
23rd,
it's
hosted
by
joni
and
friends
and
fellowship
church.
They
host
a
splash
day
at
duplessis
park
for
people
with
disabilities,
and
so
we're
excited
to
to
you
know,
support
them,
allow
them
to
go
out
there
and
do
what
they
do.
Basically,
this
is
a
group
that
they
get
together.
They
have
plenty
of
water
activities
and
resources
for
families
with
living
with
people
with
disabilities,
and
they
basically
have
made
all
these
crazy
cool,
accessible
water
features
that
they
allow
everybody
to
participate
in.
D
They
also
have
some
family
resources
and
things
like
that
that
they'll
walk
you
through.
So
that
is
this,
that
is
july
23rd,
and
I'm
trying
to
pull
up
the
time
right
now,
because.
D
Well,
maybe
later
august
6th
we
have
the
ascension
for
youth
fest,
that's
a
partnership
with
several
local
groups.
It's
going
to
be
at
the
wag
center
in
donaldsonville,
it's
one
of
our
health
and
wellness
programs
that
we're
going
to
be
doing
we're
going
to
have
a
ton
of
things
out
there
with,
and
it's
going
to
be
from
10
to
2
we're
going
to
the
guys
from
jiggerobics.
I
don't
know
if
y'all
are,
if
y'all
know
any
of
those
guys,
the
guys
out
of
southern
university,
it's
so
much
fun.
D
I
can't
wait
to
see
y'all
get
out
there
and
try
it.
It's
gonna
be
a
blast
we're
going
to
we're
actually
about
to
create
a
partnership
with
them
and
do
several
events
and
programs
throughout
the
parish.
But
they're
going
to
be
there
we're
going
to
have
lots
of
dance
teams,
performing
lots
of
games
and
activities,
water
activities,
healthy
fun
and
fitness
activities,
as
well
as
lots
of
vendors
or
sorry
wellness
booths
and
different
things
like
that
to
showcase.
D
D
A
You
all
right
well,
first
welcome
jeff,
we're
excited
to
have
you
on
our
team
and
I
can't
wait
to
see
how
all
of
our
pristine
greens
around
the
parish,
I'm
thinking
augustus
level
grass
everywhere.
If
we
don't
have
it,
I'm
gonna
be
a
little
upset,
I'm
kidding
and
then
also
I
had
one
question
for
you,
michael
four,
open
up
to
everybody
else.
You
you
said
that
we
can
now
reserve
parks
on
the
on
the
website.
Now.
Is
that
also
available
on
the
app
or
is
it
just
the
website?
Right
now.
D
D
D
Just
for
facility
reservations,
but
we
will
be
adding
more
and
more
especially
the
programs
and
stuff
as
we
get
there,
and
you
will
be
able
to
do
it
from
that
perfect
awesome.
Thank
you.
Coach.
B
C
B
A
few
questions
of
mike
mentioned
earlier
that
we
hadn't
been
meeting
for
a
little
bit
and
we
we
had
a
lot
of
things
that
was
going
on,
but
first
I'd
like
to
thank
mr
king
for
his
consistency
and
and
surely
miss
miss
michelle
for
consistent
being
on
the
on
the
west
bank
and
being
making
sure
that
our
kids
get
what
we
need
and
moving
forward.
It's
been.
It's
been
a
great
year.
Also,
mr
mr
ricky
compton.
I
see
him
smiling
back
there
smirking.
I
wasn't.
B
Y'all
right,
I
appreciate
you,
we
appreciate
it
as
a
team,
you
know,
but
I
said
you
mentioned:
you
had
1500.
That
was
overall
people
that
was
over
all
kids.
I'm
sorry,
yeah.
B
Okay,
the
the
other
thing
I
had
also
the
the
website.
I
was
real
concerned
about
our
website,
the
west
bank.
We
didn't
get
as
much
coverage
as
I
thought
we
should.
We
got
some
on
the
ascension
packs
website.
We
didn't
get
the
coverage
that
I
thought
we
should
have
had
and
I
would
like
to
see
more
participation,
more
things
on
the
website
of
ascension
parish
website.
We
have
a
website
on
the
west
bank,
but
as
a
parish
program
is
parish,
baseball.
D
Absolutely
and
I've
already
spoken
with
brandon
gatlin,
our
new
director
of
communications,
about
getting
more
things
throughout
our
social
media.
We
are
going
to
be
adding
social
media.
D
I
think
we're
going
to
be
getting
an
instagram
account
fairly
soon
we're
going
to
so
we'll
be
posting
things
for
both
east
and
west
ascension
on
that
everybody
will
be
included
and
we're
going
to
update
the
ascension
parish
website
itself,
with
additional
information
and
hopefully
be
able
to
have
it
set
up
more
to
where
we
have
different
pages
to
show
what's
going
on
and
what
you
can
do
at
different
sites
and
everything
too.
So
we
are.
B
Addressing
that
and
the
reason
I
actually
had
a
few
people
that
was
concerned
with
with
the
communication
with
the
west
bank,
with
the
kids
not
being
on
the
parish
overall
site
as
much
as
it
should.
So
I
just
wanted
to
bring
that
to
our
attention
that
this
coming
year
and
the
sports
that
we
would
be
able
to
enjoy
some
of
that
hospitality.
B
Also,
mr
king,
the
the
board
that's
on
the
highway.
I
think
we
need
to
try
and
utilize
that
a
little
bit
more
in
getting
some
of
the
messages
out
that
we
need
to
get
out.
I
don't
think
we
utilize
that
board
enough,
and
I
think
the
board
is
continue
to
have
the
same
thing
on
it
for
months
and
months
at
a
time,
and
it's
not
being
used,
as
I
would
say
properly,
so
that
we
can
get
some
of
those
things
out
in
the
community.
I.
D
Agree,
we
were
actually
talking
about
that
this
afternoon
we
were
trying
to
to
get
on
top
of
that,
for
especially
for
that
event
at
the
wag
center
and
then
a
couple
other
things
we're
going
to
have
going
this
fall.
We
have
specifically
said
we
need
to
change
it
out
because
I
think
you're
right.
We
need
to
definitely.
B
B
Sir,
and
I
appreciate
it,
though,
the
now
that
the
baseball
is
going,
what
is
the
other
programs
that
we
plan
to
have
continuously
on
the
west
bank
and
trying
to
keep
those
kids
busy?
Is
there
anything
else
other
than
the
baseball
baseball's
going,
and
I'm
looking
at
mr
butler
doing
flag
football
yeah?
What
is
our
participation
for
us?
The
uniform,
the
shirts
is
there
anything
that
we
will
be
able
to
help
out
and
in
in
right.
D
So
flag,
football,
we're
probably
just
gonna-
have
the
pennies
and
the
flags
and
stuff
for
that
and
we'll,
but
we
will
be
providing
with
all
that
we'll
get
with
them
about.
D
What's
going
on
with
that,
we
do
support
the
them
doing
that,
and
so
I
mean
yeah,
that's
our
that's
our
flag
football
program
in
west
ascension
and
I
just
need
to
get
more
information
on
it
and
then,
after
that,
we'll
be
rolling
into
basketball
pretty
soon
here
and
I
think
they
usually
start
registration
won't
be
long
after
they
roll
with
flag
football
and
then
they'll
start
practicing
in
november.
So.
B
Are
we
looking
at
any
other
program
other
than
like,
I
said
baseball,
you
got
flag
football.
We
got
some.
D
Yeah
we're
we're
exploring
some
stuff,
and
I
know
ascension
flight
has
worked
with
us.
They
did
some
soccer
clinics
and
I
guess
it
was
towards
it
was
the
middle
of
april
and
may
that
they
started
doing
that.
We're
kind
of
exploring
that
as
an
option.
D
We
we
can't
really
offer
more,
there's
just
not
enough
kids
to
really
offer
much
more
than
one
program
at
a
time
and
so
we're
kind
of
trying
to
figure
out
how
to
just
get
a
consistent
schedule
all
the
way
through.
So
that's
something
I've
been
discussing
with
mr
butler
about.
We
need
a
set
schedule
for
the
year
of
something
all
the
time
again.
D
I
don't
know
that
we
can
do
much
more
than
one
thing
at
a
time
just
because
of
the
number
of
kids
we're
trying
to
pull
to
make
it
competitive
in
in
one
sport
at
a
time.
So
that's
kind
of
what
we're
running
into
but
yeah
we
we're
pretty
I
mean
four
sports
through
a
season
is
pretty
that's,
that's
pushing
it
in
there.
Well,
I
guess
we
have
three
right
now,
but.
B
Also,
it
was
mentioned
to
me
from
a
parent.
We
have
a
handicap
disabled
kids.
Is
there
anything
offered
for
them.
D
So
we
are
going
to
be
looking
more
and
more
into
that,
and
so
I'd
be
interested
to
talk
to
some
of
these
folks
myself
and
try
to
talk
to
some
of
the
parents
and
if
there's
a
community-
and
you
know
of
somewhere
that
I
can
get
into
in
donaldsonville,
we
can
have
those
conversations.
I
think
that
would
be
great
to
see
what
the
interests
are.
B
All
right
again,
that
was
just
something
that
was
brought
to
me
to
ask
for
help
with
those
not
wanting
to
leave
them
out
so
to
speak.
B
Now
again,
I
know,
I
think,
we'll
be
going
into
some
of
the
stuff
that
we'll
be
getting,
but
also
want
to
mention
about
the
la
la
field,
thanking
the
mr
clay
shakespeare,
mr
ed
price
and
mr
ken
brass,
for
the
funds
that
be
generated
to
the
parish
to
the
city,
to
the
parish
and
we'll
work
out
whatever
it
is
that
we
need
to
work
out
to
get
some
improvements
in
the
la
la
field,
starting
with
the
with
the
lights
and
with
the
the
roads,
the
field,
the
fence
and
the
concession
stand,
and,
and
some
other
things
that
I
think
we
need
to
need
to
be
looking
at
improving.
B
So
we
just
want
to
thank
those
people
for
appreciating
them
for
for
coming
up
with
that
six
hundred
thousand
dollars
that
we'll
have
to
improve
the
the
facility.
Yes,.
D
Also,
very
appreciative
of
that.
I
want
a
second
that
we're
very
appreciative
of
any
help
we
can
get
with
that,
and
so
that's
that's
a
wonderful
thing
to
see
how
much
clay,
shack,
snyder
and
senator
price
and
representative
brass
be
involved
in
that
it's
gonna
be
a
great
thing.
B
B
So
with
that.
I
just
want
to
say
thank
thank
you
all,
and
I
appreciate
it
very
much.
This
is
going
bigger
and
better
every
year,
so
to
speak,
michelle
and
thank
you
all
for
being
so
persistent,
and
that's
all
I
have
mr
mason.
Thank
you
very
much.
Absolutely
you.
A
May
also
have
anything
for
mr
king
all
right.
Thank
you
very
much
for
your
report,
sir.
We
appreciate
it
with
that.
We'll
move
on
to
general
business
item
a
discussion
and
approval
to
rename
the
darrow
community
center.
Mr
turner
is
not
in,
but
I
did
talk
to
him
today.
He
is
requesting
that
we
rename
this
the
joseph
you
pierre
senior
community,
all
right.
We
got
a
motion
by
coach
in
a
second
by
mr
lawler.
Is
there
any
objection
all
right,
we'll
move
that
to
the
folk
trump's
not
being
here?
A
Aaron
said
that
not
me
we'll
move
that
to
full
council,
and
I
think
mr
turner
will
do
his
presentation
there.
So
thank
you
all
right
item
b,
updated
rental
policy
and
procedure
presentation.
Mr
king.
D
Right-
and
so
this
is
gonna,
I'm
gonna
give
you
a
little
bit
of
policy
information,
but
a
lot
of
this
is
just
gonna
kind
of
show
you
what
our
new
registration
system
looks
like
they
just
kind
of
go
hands
in
hand.
So,
right
now,
all
recreation
facility
rentals
are
moving
online.
That's
everything
everything's
moving
there,
you
don't
have
to
come
in.
You
don't
have
to
sign
a
piece
of
paper
anymore,
everything's
going
to
be
done
online.
If
you
come
into
the
office,
I'm
going
to
show
you
how
to
do
it
online,
but.
E
D
That's
what
we're
gonna!
That's
that's
how
we're
kind
of
headed.
So
you
know
it's
all
gonna
be
done
through
tyler
parks
and
rec.
As
you
can
see
here,
yeah
there's
no
more
in-person
written
contracts
as
we
pass
in
ordinance.
Not
that
long
ago
we
now
have
hourly
rentals
for
our
community
centers
we're
going
to
be
staffing.
These
community
centers
coming
soon,
so
there
won't
be
a
need
to
pass
out
keys
to
people
and
have
them
in
our
buildings
when
we're
not
there.
D
There
won't,
it
won't,
be
you'll,
be
able
to
rent
more
than
one
in
a
day
because
we'll
be
able
to
pick
up
and
clean
as
we
go
along
while
they're
there,
so
it
actually
offers
more
opportunities
for
folks
as
well,
and
so
there's
also
no
more
deposits
to
hold
this.
All
payment
is
going
to
be
due
upon
reservation
or
the
full
payment
within
10
days
of
booking
this.
So
if
you
have
to
come
in
with
a
check,
then
you
can
come
in
within
10
days
and
we'll
hold
that
reservation.
D
You
can
pay
by
credit
or
debit
card
online,
so
that
is
a
huge
plus
for
people.
You
can
just
go
ahead,
sign
up
put
in
your
hours,
reserve
it
right
then,
and
there
and
like
I
said
we
don't
have
much
on
here
right
now,
it's
just
being
able
to
rent
the
facilities.
So
this
is
what
the
page
looks
like
as
it
continues
we'll
have
more
on
here
regarding
programs
and
upcoming
events
and
different
things
of
that
nature
as
we
go.
D
But
so,
if
you
go
to
rent
facilities
the
way
I
like
to
look
at
it,
it's
a
little
neater
and
cleaner
is
the
facility
calendar.
And
so
let's
say
I
wanted
to
rent
daryl
community
park,
and
I
want
to
rent
the
community
center
and
we're
going
to
go
to
it's
kind
of
blacked
out
right
now,
because
there's
some
that
are
reserved
and
it's
moving
super
slow.
C
D
But
if
I
were
to
go
to
say
the
first
weekend
of
september
or
second,
because
it's
still
going,
you
can
kind
of
see,
I
can
go
through
all
right,
there's
nobody
on
this
saturday.
I
just
want
to
do
a
little
event,
starting
in
the
afternoon
at
say
or
morning.
We'll
just
do
that,
because
that's
what
I
clicked
so
10
30,
I'm
only
going
to
do
an
hour
to
11
30
and
I
got
50
people
coming.
We're
just
gonna
have
a
big
lunch,
so
big
early
lunch
to
brunch.
D
Works
out
is
it's
10
30
to
11
30
and
you
get
and
it
it
blocks
off,
30
minutes
before
30
minutes
after
so
I
can
have
time
to
set
up
time
to
clean
up,
and
then
we
get
out
as
you'll
see
here
it
has
a
you
have
to
check
this
box
before
you
move
on,
and
there
is
a
disclaimer,
that's
probably
hard
to
read
right
now.
Based
on
this.
D
This
is
everything
that
was
on
our
previous
contract,
so
this
will
be
updated
with
some
information
that
I'm
going
to
share
with
you
in
just
a
second
but
the
yeah.
You
have
to
read
this
or
you're
supposed
to
read
this
and
acknowledge
that
by
checking
this
so
that
you're,
clear
of
the
rules
that
also
gets
printed
on
your
invoice
that
gets
sent
to
your
email.
So
you
have
it
in
writing
what
you're
agreeing
to
when
you
do
this,
so
that
there
is
no
confusion,
so
just
a
few
rental
procedures
and
policy
updates.
D
D
Staff
will
be
on
site
during
your
event
to
assist,
monitor
and
check
for
damages
and
cleaning
and
assist
with
cleaning
as
well
set
up
if
they
need
to
the
lessee
must
still
coordinate
with
apso
for
any
event
with
alcohol,
you
got
to
get
with
the
sheriff's
office
still
and
pay
that
additional
fee
for
that,
and
let's
see
we'll
so
because
this
is
all
kind
of
new
and
we're
all
figuring
it
out
and
not
everybody
knows
necessarily
what
they're
signing
signing
up
for,
if
even
if
they
do
read
that,
we
want
to
make
sure
that
we
have
recreation
staff,
that's
going
to
follow
up
with
the
renter
right
after
the
creation
of
a
reservation.
D
Well,
if
you
show
up
with
alcohol
you're
either
not
getting
in
or
if
you
come
in,
you're
going
to
be
getting
kicked
out,
because
you
didn't
do
the
proper
procedures
for
that
in
order
to
have
it.
So
it's
kind
of
one
of
those
checks
and
we
want
to
be
able
to
tell
people
that
if
you
are
found
to
have
provided
false
information,
your
event
may
be
shut
down
and
or
you
may
not
be
allowed
to
rent
from
us
again
so
know
what
you're
signing
up
for.
F
D
And
I
know
there's
been
some
discussion
about
refunds
as
well,
so
we
we
now
are
saying-
and
this
will
be
added
to
this
as
well
as
to
our
website.
So
just
so
we're
all
clear.
You
can
receive
a
full
refund
if
you're,
if
you,
if
you
have
canceled
your
event
prior
to
21
days
from
the
reservation
date
that
allows
us
some
wiggle
room
to
in
order
to
be
able
to
rent
this
again
so
you're
not
holding
on
to
it
until
the
last
day.
D
D
21
days
is
pretty
standard
from
what
I've
seen
21
to
30
days
is
usually
what
it
is
in
recreation
departments,
as
this
goes
to
get
a
full
refund,
and
I
just
I
do
want
to
say
like
that-
is
that's
an
update,
but
it's
more
lenient
than
what
it
actually
has
been
in
the
past,
where
finance
was
kind
of
directing
us
that
under
no
circumstances
unless
there's
a
basically
a
death
in
the
family,
are
you
gonna
get
any
money
back
or
a
hurricane
that
allows
you
not
to
do
it
that
kind
of
thing?
D
So
we've
we've
tried
to
have
a
little
bit
of
wiggle
room
in
here,
but
I
do
also
want
to
say,
you
know,
be
patient
with
us.
It
does
take
about
four
weeks
to
process
these
refunds.
Once
we've
received
the
actual
request.
B
So
you
you,
all
of
this
information
you
talking
about
is
in
the
contract.
Yes,.
B
B
D
B
B
D
B
B
D
F
F
B
Well,
I'm
just
wanting
to
cover
ourselves
so
to
speak,
to
where
they
can't
come
back
on
us.
You
know,
if
there's
no
way
in
the
contract
saying
that
she
can't
cancel
it,
then
I
mean,
and
it's
verbal
marvin
is
nowhere
there
saying
that
she
she
gets
a
refund
or
you
know,
refund
back.
So
what
do
we
do
in
a
case
like
that.
D
B
Well,
that's
that
was
my
point
in
making
today,
yes,
that
we
make
sure
we
take
care
of
that,
but
in
the
meantime
we
need
to
make
sure
that
we
give
this
young
lady
an
answer
on
what
what's
our
reasons
for
not
giving
her
her
money
back.
I
think.
G
Okay,
thank
you,
mr
thank
you
yeah.
This
is
really
cool.
We've
been
looking
forward
to
this
for
a
while.
We've
talked
about
a
lot.
I
have
a
couple
questions
because
I'm
trying
to
understand
it,
I
see
like
non-resident
under
there.
It
says
25
is
that
like
additional
25
for
some
of
them
or
250
or
1500
whatever
it
may
be,
I'm
on
the
page,
just
like
the
citizen
portal.
I
like
what
you're
on.
D
They
they
should
be
the
same
right
now,
there's
not
an
option
for
us
in
this
system.
We
don't
tech
right
now
we
don't
charge
a
difference
between
resident
and
non-resident.
D
That
might
be
something
we
get
to
in
the
past,
but
we
have
to
figure
out
geo
mapping
and
all
that
before
we
even
get
down
that
road,
it
should
be
50
and
it
should
be
the
same
price
for
each
one.
D
Specific
instance,
part
of
that
might
be
because
you're
not
signed
in
I've,
noticed
that
a
couple
of
times,
if
you're
just
kind
of
messing
around
in
the
system-
and
you
don't
have
your
you're-
not
fully
logged
in
like
I'll
rent
for
two
hours.
But
it'll
still
tell
me
it's
fifty
dollars
instead
of
a
hundred
dollars,
so
it.
But
when
I
log
in
it
tells
me
there's
the
four
hundred
dollars.
I
don't
know
we're
still
working
out
a
few
bugs
this
week
so
and.
G
D
Those
are
not
actually
available
to
rent
on
there
we're
gonna.
We
have
them
all
blacked
out,
because
what
it
is
is
it's
a
that's
typically,
a
light.
Rental
is
what
that
one
ends
up
being
so
we're
still
running
those
internally,
we're
not
you're,
not
able
to
rent
fields
online
right
now
and
the
250
that's
a
weekend,
you're
going
to
block
the
whole
thing
all
day,
you're
taking
everything
at
that
point,
so
the
25
is
an
hourly
light
fee.
I
got
you.
G
D
It
would
be
the
plan
to
do,
though,
to
have
all
of
all
all
of
our
fields
on
there
as
well,
we're
still
kind
of
transitioning
and
honestly
we're
already
kind
of
full
with
where
we
are,
and
people
have
paid
significantly
in
advance.
So
it
would
kind
of
be
figuring
out
how
we're
opening
that
back
up
to
make
it
fair
and
keep
it
fair.
Okay
and
then
those
prices
may
change
at
some
point,
depending
on
the
written
invasions,
we're
making
to
the
fields.
G
D
D
We
will
eventually
have
all
the
permits
all
the
different
things
like
that
and
the
gym
added
on
there
as
well,
but
again
jim
same
thing.
It's
already
full
as
it
is
so
we're
we
hadn't
gotten
to
a
point
where
we're
changing
that
up
yet
and
that
and
goes
on
here.
G
Okay,
one
of
the
things
that
I
know
from
talking
to
people
at
lamar
dixon
is
coordinating
with
them
in
the
gym.
Instead
of
having
you
all
compete
against
each
other
for
things,
I
think
y'all
could
work
together
on
it.
I'd
like
you
all
to
get
together
with
kyle
and
jazz,
and
we
met
about
it
yesterday.
Why
not?
G
Maybe
I
do
so.
I
just
want
to
make
sure
that
continues,
though,
because
I
think
that's
real
opportunity.
I
think
they
can
throw
some
things
y'all's
way
and
even
help
with
some
of
the
management
part
of
it
to
take
some
of
that
off
your
backs
agreed
completely
good.
Okay,
cool
looks
great.
This
is
awesome.
I'm
gonna
run
things
just
for
fun.
There
you
go.
A
All
right,
mr
law,
thank
you
very
much.
All
right.
Moving
on
to
item
c
approval
to
introduce
the
proposed
ordinance
to
amen
the
ascension
parish
code
of
ordinance,
chapter
15,
article
1
in
general,
to
include
mobile
food
truck
units
who's
going
to
talk
on
that.
One.
D
Yeah
I'll
hit
the
highlights
y'all,
I
kind
of
sent
all
that
out
and
it
was
posted.
So
this
is
we're
introducing
an
ordinance
because
I
I
know
councilman
lawler
and
I
had
been
talking
at
some
point.
He
wanted
to
see
some
food
trucks,
some
snowball,
vendors
and
things
like
that
in
the
in
the
parks.
We
thought
that
would
be
really
cool
if
you
were
able
to
go
you're
out
at
the
splash
pad,
and
then
you
can
go
grab
a
snowball
or
something,
but
we
don't
really
have
a
way
of
regulating
it
or
we
haven't.
D
So
what
we
have
is
basically
an
example
of
a
mobile
food
unit,
just
so
we're
all
on
the
same
page,
that
would
be
food
trucks,
ice
cream
trucks,
snowball,
vendors,
things
like
that
and
we're
talking
about
operating
specifically
in
our
parks.
This
isn't
everywhere
else,
it's
just
in
the
parks
and
we're
basically
creating
a
permitting
process,
and
so
they
would
apply
for
their
permit,
get
an
approved
vendor
sign
and
a
permit
to
put
with
their
mobile
food
unit.
D
That's
going
to
cost
a
hundred
dollars
per
calendar
a
year,
and
that's
basically
administrative
fees
and
getting
all
this
extra
stuff
together
and
making
sure
that
we
can
check
up
on
everything
and
it's
per
calendar
year.
So
if
everybody
goes
out
and
does
it
tomorrow,
that
would
they
would
have
to
renew
in
in
january
and
then
basically
we'd
have
a
different
color
permit
for
that
year
and
we
go
and.
E
D
So
again,
permitted
locations
are
only
ascension
parish
parks
and
they're
only
going
to
be
able
to
operate
it
and
operate
in
areas
that
we've
designated
on
a
map,
so
we're
going
to
kind
of
map
out
specifically
where
you
can
park.
So
that
say,
oak
grove,
which
does
not
have
very
much
parking,
is
not
completely
full
of
food
trucks
and
no
people,
so
we're
going
to
kind
of
put
out
exactly
where
you
can
go
for
that
prohibited
locations.
This
doesn't
include
veterans
park,
this
any
of
the
city
of
donaldsonville
parks.
D
Now
our
parks
in
donaldsonville
cool
city
of
donaldsonville
park,
snow
sandwich,
city
of
gonzales
and
town
of
sorrento,
some
just
a
couple
additional
rules
for
it
just
again,
so
we're
kind
of
aware
they
got
to
maintain
a
clean
area.
They
can
only
operate
during
park
hours
unless
they've
received
additional
permission
from
the
recreation
department,
so
you
can't
be
somewhere
after
dark
because
our
parts
close
at
dark.
D
However,
if
there's
a
big
sport
event
or
tournament
or
something
going
on-
and
we
want
them
out
there-
that's
a
perfect
time
to
get
people
out
and
do
that
to
support
what
to
support
who's,
running
our
concessions
and
everything
else.
We
can
have
a
nice
little
night
out
and
offer
some
food
trucks
as
well.
They
are
required
to
have
all
the
department
of
health,
licensing,
insurance,
liability,
insurance,
those
kinds
of
things
and
that's
all
spelled
out
in
the
ordinance
as
well.
Perfect.
G
All
right,
mr
waller
yeah,
I
want
to
tell
you
thank
you,
michael
and
whoever
on
your
team
helped
with
this
I
mean
this
has
been
something
since
I
started
doing
this,
what
seven
six
and
a
half
years
ago,
I've
wanted
this
to
happen
and
y'all
made
it
happen,
and
you
know
one
of
the
things
I
really
like,
seeing
that
it's
only
a
hundred
dollar
fee.
That
means
that
they're
not
going
to
pass
that
on
to
all
of
our
kids
and
our
families
at
the
parks.
G
G
You're
gonna,
have
you
know
korean
barbecue
and
there's
all
kind
of
different
opportunities
there
that
this
is
really
more
of
a
service
to
our
citizens
that
we're
doing
this?
Has
we're
not
trying
to
make
money
on
this
and
that's
what
I
think
makes
it
so
great
that
you
did
this.
So
anybody
on
your
team
who
helps
with
this
feel
free
to
pray
them
up
here
and
tell
them.
Thank
you.
I
love
this
really
makes
me
happy
yeah.
Can
we
get
a
picture.
A
Now
I
have
to
have
to
have
to
echo
that
when,
when
councilman
lawler
came
to
me
with
it-
and
I
talked
to
you
about
michael-
I
was-
I
was
very
excited
about
the
idea,
because
somebody
who
has
family
members
constantly
playing
softball
and
baseball,
and
especially
sitting
out
like
butch
gore
sweating,
because
there's
no
trees
or
no
shade.
I
want
to
put
that
out
there
but
yeah
it's.
I
think
it's
a
great
idea
to
have
you
know:
ice
cream
food
trucks
that
kind
of
stuff
out
there.
That's
it's
like
really
exciting.
A
So
thank
you
seriously
on
on
behalf
of
all
of
us.
That's
pretty
incredible!.
F
And
just
real
quick,
we
just
got
word
that
tpar
has
been
added
to
the
app.
A
Oh
great
awesome,
the
app
app
all
you
have
to
do
is
ask,
and
it
just
happened.
Is
that
which
part
is
it?
No?
That's
the
booking
the
community
things
on
the
app
on
our
app
no.
C
G
The
citizen
portal
is
now
available
via
the
app
app.
Let
me
check
my
beeper
real,
quick.
D
Centers
yeah
all
our
parks,
with
the
exception
all
of
the
ascension
parish
parks,
with
the
exception
of
veterans
park
and
not
any
of
the
city
owned
or
run
parks
throughout.
B
The
reason
I
say
that
because
we,
the
parks
most
of
the
parks
when
the
parks-
and
we
have
concession-
and
you
know
I
I
I
know
you
want
to
have
a
full
truck-
come
and
snowball-
we
have
snowballs,
we
sell,
we
have
food
truck
another
food
truck.
We
have
concessions
that
we
sell.
We
sell,
you
know
with
different
variety
of
food
that
we
do
sell
and
yeah.
D
So
so
that
did
come
up
and
that's
kind
of
what
we
were
thinking
about
and
that's
why
we're
limiting
specifically
where
you
can
park
and
how
many
can
be
there.
So
in
most
cases
you
wouldn't
be
able
to
have
more
than
one
or
two
things
there
and
we
would
be
able
to
ideally
coordinate
somehow
with
some
of
these
trucks
to
say
when
and
where
you
can
be
just
for
that
reason,
specifically
because
we,
you
know
a
lot
of
these
concessions,
we
use
that
money
for
other
things
as
well.
D
So
it's
it's!
It's
adding
additional
options
in
many
cases,
but
we're
going
to
it's
going
to
be
very
limited,
you're
not
going
to
have
at
a
at
a
normal
day,
you're
not
going
to
have
25
trucks
at
one
place.
When
we're
doing
that,
it
would
be
something
that
we
would
have
to
plan
for
that
yeah.
So
this
is.
A
A
First,
do
we
have
first,
we
don't
have
it
first.
First,
I
get
it
first,
okay,
I
got
a
first
or
a
motion
from
councilman
lawler
and
a
second
from
councilwoman,
and
we
will
send
that
to
full
council
for
approval
last
item.
We
have
is
approval
of
the
recreation
items
to
be
included
in
resolution
by
council
regarding
spending
of
american
rescue
plan
act.
Mr
compton.
E
E
Is
is
the
plan
that
the
parish
has
to
spend
14
million
of
our
american
rescue
plan
dollars?
I'm
gonna
run
through
the
map.
The
map
is
indicative
of
all
of
the
locations
where
we
are
proposing
to
do
these
projects.
There's
a
lot
of
similarities.
So
I'm
not
going
to
repeat
myself,
I'm
not
going
to
read
all
the
text
in
the
slides,
but
I
want
to
give
you
an
idea
of
the
size
and
the
scope
of
the
projects
that
we
are
going
to
be
completing.
E
E
This
is
a
project
that
we've
seen
it's
a
machine
that
you
you
launch
into
a
waterway.
It
uses
the
current
of
the
river
to
turn
a
paddle
wheel.
You
use
booms
to
collect
litter
and
that
conveyor
lifts
the
litter
out
of
the
water
and
drops
it
into
a
floating
trash
dumpster
that
you
then
pull
out
of
the
water
and
you
replace
it.
So
this
is
a
device
that
we're
looking
at.
That
would
be
able
to
move
into
different
waterways
where
we
identify
that
we're
having
a
litter
or
a
problem
of
floating
debris,
and
I.
A
E
I
like
it
prairieville
park.
That's
my
part,
we'll
be
adding
a
new
restroom
building.
We
are
that
that
is
one
of
our
most
active
after
hours
parks
with
the
adult
softball
leagues
with
our
new
dog
park
and
a
new
bathroom
is
certainly
needed.
Oh
yeah
southwood
park,
new
restrooms
butch
gore
park
new
restrooms,
complete
the
walking
paths.
I
like
those
restaurants,
nice
restaurants,
youth
legacy,
highway
621
park,
we're
going
to
build
a
fully
inclusive
playground
with
a
port
in
place
surface,
and
it's
going
to
be
fully
ada
accessible.
E
E
Santa
monica
community
center,
I
have
put
4.8
million
dollars
towards
this
building
because
we
still
have
not
received
word
from
fema
that
they
are
going
to.
Let
us
use
the
santa
mon
park
replacement
costs.
This
ensures
that
we
can
be
tied
in
with
the
library
and
begin
construction
simultaneously
with
them.
We
are
currently
working
with
a
environmental
consultant
to
finish
our
wetland,
determination,
slash
delineation,
that's
supposedly
the
last
step
with
fema.
If
that
1.6
million
comes
down
this
comes
down
and
we
have
more
money
to
allocate
to
other
projects
perfect.
H
E
On
the
record,
I
want
to
speak
appropriately
that
these
are
coronavirus
money
and
we
have
to
meet
certain
criteria
for
spending
these
dollars
right
and
the
nomenclature
that
is
being
utilized
is
in
order
to
meet
those
needs.
C
E
H
E
E
I
think
they
know
geyser
park.
We
want
to
add
some
new
restrooms.
We
want
to
add
some
walking
paths
and
some
pickleball
slash
basketball
courts,
they'll
be
multi-use
courts,
they'll
be
painted
up
for
pickleball,
because
we
are
having
a
growing
community
of
pickleball
players
here
right
here,
where
we're
at
at
this
new
courthouse
we're
going
to
build
some
water
garden
landscaping
and
some
additional
pervious
parking
that
meets
the
clean
water
and
storm
water
demands
of
the
covet
funding.
E
We
got
a
request
from
the
clerk
court,
the
sheriff
and
the
judges
to
provide
some
food
service
in
this
building
when
they
have
court
that
that
wasn't
contemplated
because
it
just
didn't
have
room
and
so
building
that
out
there.
We
still
have
some
hurdles
to
cross
in
the
city
of
gonzales
and
we
are
working
through
those.
But
we
are
going
to
build
us
a
potential
future
food
truck
court
at
lamar
dixon.
E
At
the
south,
louisiana
fairgrounds
we're
going
to
add
some
new
restrooms
and
a
new
airnasium,
so
imagine
a
gymnasium
without
walls
that
is
protected
from
the
rain
that
you
can
play
basketball
with
into
the
night,
because
there'll
be
lights,
we
we
imagine
it
to
be
at
least
two
full-size
basketball
courts
and
maybe
four
half
courts.
You
know
stripes
for
pickleball.
If
you
want
to
play
that
and
that's
going
to
be
a
huge
addition
that
will
go
where
the
existing
metal
building
is
at
the
fairgrounds,
where
they
used
to
do
sandbagging.
E
And
lastly,
we've
reserved
two
million
dollars
for
regional
detention,
stormwater
mitigation
and
water
quality.
Currently
hntb
is
working
through
the
master
drainage
plan
in
a
parish
and
we're
hoping
that
they
identify
some
properties
that
we
could
purchase
to
facilitate
large
storm
water
detention,
but
we
also
see
those
as
an
opportunity
to
expand
our
recreational
offerings
to
maybe
create
some
environmental
parks.
Maybe
those
basins
when
they're
dry
can
be
used
for
open
play
football
lacrosse.
E
We
won't
know
until
we
get
in
and
identify
properties
to
see
if
they're,
that
kind
of
usable.
But
you
know
the
ideas
are
out
there.
Other
communities
have
done
that
and
we
think
it's
an
opportunity
for
our
community,
and
that
is
the
end
of
the
presentation.
We
are
looking
for
a
recommendation
to
push
this
to
the
full
council
that
we
will
tie
together
with
the
transportation
items
you
saw
the
other
night
at
transportation
committee
craft,
one
resolution
that
we
can
get
these
things
approved
and
start
building
some
projects.
C
H
Ricky,
let's
talk
on
the
record
about
I
mean
I
can
support
all
of
this.
If
I
can
get
my
spray
park
finished
now,
look
I
don't
need
it
to
come
out
of
here.
I
needed
to
come
from
somewhere.
E
Yes,
ma'am:
we
we
have
the
money
for
the
splash
park
in
our
budget.
We
are,
we
are
funded
up
to,
I
think
750
000
splash
park
specifically
cannot
be
funded
with
this,
so
we
have
the
money
for
that.
The
completion
of
the
splash
park.
We
believe,
comes
from
our
capital
budget,
that
if
we
get
this
list
approved,
we
will
have
extra
dollars
that
we
can
allocate
towards
the
completion
of
the
splash
pad.
E
B
C
H
H
The
densest
population
in
the
parish
has
has
no
real
community
sense
of
community
because
it
it
doesn't
have
a
place,
and
I
I
really
believe
this
can
be
our
place.
If
we
can,
if
we
can
get
it,
nobody
can
rent
anything.
H
They
have
to
go
to
to
down,
to
get
to
say,
excuse
me
geyser
or
over
to
oak
grove,
so
we
are
kind
of
stuck
there
and
we
would
just
love
to
get
that
thing
finished
and
utilized
for
many
other
things.
Besides,
just
getting
our
little
ones
feet
wet.
H
So
ricky
was
here:
I
got
to
tell
you
all
this
story.
Ricky
was
here
the
in
his
first
term,
when
I
went
to
see
him
about
doing
this
splash
pad,
and
I
we
we
we
zoomed
in
on
a
park
in
pensacola
and
there's
desoto,
I
think
on
top
of
the
in
the
center,
and
he
said
well
who
who's
the
statue
you're
going
to
be.
I
said
it's
going
to
be
koikasa.
H
C
H
Were
just
joking,
but
I'm
so
excited
about
this.
It's
a
long
time
coming
and
I
thank
you
for
picking
this
ball
up
and
running
with
it,
and
I
appreciate
the
recreation
committee
helping
us
to
get
that
thing
done
by
whatever
hook
or
crook.
We've
got
to
get
it
done.
If
we
got
a
bar,
we've
got
to
get
in
a
group
thing
with
minnesota.
I'm
good.
B
Yeah
I
got
two
things:
rick
I've
talked
to
you
talked
to
michelle
and
I'm
looking
at
long-term
situation
with
the
parish
recreational
having
a
parish,
complex
recreational,
complex
on
west
ascension,
there's
no
parish
recreational
complex,
there's
nothing
over
there
considered
for
the
parish
in
itself.
So
I'm
wanting
to
allow
us
to
look
deeply
to
find
the
foundation
to
try
and
start
this
process
in
getting
the
property.
First.
B
I've
looked
at
the
property
already
next
to
the
dpw
building
on
t-board
drive,
I've
had
a
young
engineer
to
look
at
it.
B
It's
the
perfect
spot
for
a
west
ascension
recreational
complex
that
we
barely
need
coming
from
the
parish
of
ascension,
that
we
don't
have
a
building
at
all
on
the
west
bank
of
the
river,
and
I
will
ask
that
we
look
into
trying
to
figure
out
a
way
to
to
get
that
situation
resolved
and
I'm
not.
It
didn't
start
last
night
or
overnight,
though,
but
I'm
looking
at
trying
to
lay
the
groundwork
and
lay
the
foundation
to
try
and
get
this
get
this
done.
B
Also.
The
second
thing
I
had
was
on
all
of
the
parks
we
took
the
park
out
of
abend
and
we
never
got
to
putting
anything
back
in
that
area
for
those
kids
in
the
avent
area,
outside
of
the
city
limits
and
I'm
not
sure
whether
we
we
looked
into
trying
to
find
a
piece
of
property
to
put
anything
within
that
area
close
to
that
area
off
the
highway.
B
I
know
we
moved
it
from
the
back
of
the
highway
up
to
the
front
and
it's
hopefully
we
can
get
something
close
to
it,
get
something
in
the
area
that
we
can
get
a
piece
of
property
that
we
can
put
some
type
of
recreational
facility
within
that
within
that
area,
they've
been
area
and
that's
all
I
have.
E
E
We
have
a
contract
waiting
to
be
executed
to
do
the
lead,
paint
and
asbestos
remediation
in
that
building.
As
soon
as
that
is
completed,
we're
going
to
start
the
hvac
work
to
get
that
building
climatized
as
soon
as
that
is
completed,
we're
going
to
paint
do
all
new
floors,
new
drop
ceilings
and
that's
going
to
be
approximately
10
to
12
000
square
feet
of
community
center
that
we're
going
to
staff
and
will
be
open
from
dawn
to
dusk.
E
It
has
a
full-size
basketball
court
and
we've
been
talking
with
jimmy
blanchard
about
the
possibility
of
relocating
a
historic
structure
next
to
the
armory
on
our
property.
That
could
become
a
part
of
that
whole
package.
So
that's
a
much
bigger
vision
that
is
budgeted
to
be
about
2.25
million
that
we
have
ready
to
spend.
So
as
soon
as
the
surplus
is,
the
auction
is
completed,
we're
going
to
start
progressing
on
that
building
and
very
rapidly
you'll
see
a
community
center,
hopefully
open
before
the
end
of
next
year.
B
That's
good,
that's
that
sounds
good
to
the
years
of
yeah.
I
appreciate
it
and
hopefully
that
that
happened.
So.
Thank
you
very
much
appreciate
it.
Okay,.
G
Mr
lawler,
I
have
a
couple
questions
about
the
aranasium,
I'm
just
more
curiosity
things.
How
big
is
that
going
to
be
like
square
feet
or
length
times
width
and
what
is
the
cost
of
the
shelter
over
it.
E
It's
a
single-sized
gym,
not
as
big
as
the
original
lamar
dixon
gym,
but
the
new
addition.
It's
a
single
basketball
court.
We
see
based
on
the
size
of
property.
We
have.
We
think
we
have
the
ability
to
do
two
full-size
courts,
that
you
can
run
side
to
side
and
do
half-court
basketball
or
full-size
basketball.
So
again
we
haven't
done
any
engineering.
We
haven't
done
any
site
work.
We
haven't
done
any
site
planning
but
based
on
the
size
of
the
building.
That's
there.
Now
we
actually
looked
at
the
building.
E
That's
there
now
the
roof's
just
not
tall
enough.
So
while
the
the
skeleton
is
okay,
you
know
it's
been
peeled
back.
Ida
did
a
pretty
big
number
on
that
building.
It's
just
not
tall
enough
to
support
adults
playing
basketball
under
it.
So
you
know
the
the
price
we
have
on
here:
950
000,
with
the
current
price
of
materials.
Can
we
build
that?
I
don't
know,
but
I
think
that
that
gives
us
a
pretty
good
start
to
get
in
there
and
say
hey.
E
How
much
is
this
building
going
to
cost
us
and
if
we
need
to
supplement
it
out
of
our
capital
budget,
we
can
projects
over
a
million
dollars
with
the
corona
money,
have
a
different
set
of
criteria
that
you
have
to
meet
and
reporting
and
everything
else.
So
we
tried
to
maintain
projects
under
that
value
other
than
the
santa
monica
community
center.
G
Okay
and
part
of
the
reason
I
was
asking
because
an
idea
that's
been
around
for
a
while.
I've
talked
to
people
in
paris
about
it
is
a
bmx
track
and
I
know
the
pump
track.
Y'all
told
me
and
I've
learned
it's
not
that's
not
like
a
real
bmx
track.
This
is
more
like
a
smaller
kid
thing,
not
a
smaller
kid
thing,
but
it's
not
going
to
be
a
competition
thing.
The
the
head
of
usa,
bmx,
is
from
louisiana.
G
Ascension
parish
has
some
of
the
best
bmx
bikers
in
the
nation.
One
of
my
son's
friends
at
least
a
couple
years
ago
was
a
top
10
kid
I'd
like
to
see,
and
I
don't
know
about
this
money
I
mean
I
think
we
have
some
money.
Maybe
we
could
use
for
it,
but
put
something
like
that
at
lamar
dixon,
and
if
we
team
up
with
usa
bmx,
they
can
help
us
with
getting
actual
nationals
there
or
regionals
there.
I've
looked
at
some
of
the
cost
estimates
on
it.
G
So
I
think
we
would
be
a
very
big
draw
in
this
area
to
actually
have
a
covered
track,
and
if
we
do
it,
you
know
big
enough,
we
would
have
and
it
what
I
understand
you
have
to
have
it-
be
about
1400
feet,
long
for
an
adult
bmx
track
and
that's
four
to
five:
it's
about
200
000
square
feet.
400
by
500.
We've
got
space
at
lamar
dixon.
That
could
do
that.
We
cover
it.
G
We
can
start
having
competitions
out
there,
so
it'd
be
something
that
you
know
could
bring
stuff
in
and
the
reason
I
say:
lamar
dixon.
We
already
have
the
hotel
infrastructure
there
and
it's
something
that
that
really
could
work
out
there
and
it
wouldn't
be
a
detriment
to
the
equestrian
things
that
are
going
on.
In
fact,
some
ideas
would
be
like,
on
the
other
side
of
the
soccer
field,
away
from
all
that
even
but
bmx
bikes
aren't
loud.
So
it
really
doesn't
matter.
D
So
so
yeah
I
it's
probably
about
two
months
ago
I
went
down
to
gretna
and
met
with
the
program
staff
there
to
tour
their
complex.
We
started
talking
about
the
exact
same
things
that
you
were
talking
about,
because
it's
not.
There
are
several
people
from
ascension
parish
that
go
down
once
twice
a
week
to
gretna
to
do
this,
and
so
we
would
love
to
be
able
to
keep
them
here
and
yes,
they
we.
D
We
talked
about
the
support
that
we
can
get
from
from
bmx
from
usa,
bmx
and
all
that
and
try
to
start
going
through
this
process.
So
we're
definitely
on
board.
We
just
gotta
knock
out
some
of
those
details
and
get
the
money
ready.
Let.
H
E
Yes,
ma'am,
so
part
of
the
task
that
michael
has
been
tasked
with
is
working
with
the
health
and
mental
health
departments,
to
figure
out
how
we
can
better
integrate
wellness,
health
and
wellness,
not
just
physical
health,
but
mental
health
and
emotional
health,
food
health.
You
know
all
the
things
all
the
factors
that
we
need
to
and
the
armory
will
be
our
only
location
on
the
west
side,
where
we
have
that
ability
to
integrate.
E
You
know
we
had
also
talked
with
the
library
board
about
hey,
maybe
one
of
those
rooms
in
the
armory
could
be
sponsored
by
the
library.
It
could
be
our
stem
lab
where
we
we
do
the
esports
and
we
teach
programming
and
coding
and
those
sorts
of
things.
So,
yes,
there
are
so
many
rooms
in
that
armory
that
are
available
for
programming,
and
I
mean
there's
a
kitchen:
do
we
rebuild
the
kitchen
and
teach
people
how
to
cook
healthy
and
those
sorts
of
things
so.
D
Plans
for
that
that
we
just
kind
of
started
mapping
out
the
spaces
when
we
went
in
included
a
stem
lab
esports
room,
a
some
spin
classes,
some
space
for
spin
classes
and
different
different
dance
classes.
We
can
almost
split
that
room
and
do
both
there's
also
another
really
long
room
that
we
could
put
in
some
almost
like
crossfit
type
equipment
and
things
like
that
and
do
more
training
classes
and
then
there's
a
classroom
space
there's
just
like
the
rooms.
D
G
Yeah,
if
we
do
a
kitchen
at
the
armory,
we
need
to
make
sure
that
we
can
cook
jambalaya
for
fundraisers.
There.
